"Come back inside sweetie, dinner is nearly ready!" Marinette smiled blissfully as the young girl toddled towards the house in her tiny doll shoes and floaty summer dress. Running towards Marinette with her arms held out high, she jumped into her mother's embrace with a contagious giggle, "Mama, look! Look! Dada is back!"

Marinette, shifted the weight so that her beautiful daughter sat comfortably on her hips before shifting her focus on the perfect little wooden white gate as it swung open. Her husband hurried over to them with a dazzling smile before showing them with adoring kisses, "there's my two lovely ladies! Come give Dada a big hug princess!"

Marinette looked deep into the face of the man she loved whole heartedly, yet strangely, she could not focus on it. But she knew it was Luka…no? That wasn't right. It was Adrien wasn't it? Maybe not. Why couldn't she see who it was?

Opening her eyes against the darkness, Marinette blinked away tears as reality returned to her. The house was already sold, the child that would await her father's return was not Marinette's. The child was never meant to be- nor was her husband. The empty pain of loneliness was now mercilessly tearing at her heart again.

Not even stopping to consider her surroundings, Marinette curled into a ball and stuffed her knuckles into her mouth as she began to wail loudly. This was normal; dreams of her would-be life had haunted her nightly ever since Luka's death. Each time it happened, Marinette was forced to face the truth yet again and each time was almost like the first time that she had been told her fiancé was dead.

Though this time she had forgotten one other thing, she was not alone. Strong arms enveloped her protectively- pulling her into them. Adrien sat her in his lap and stroked her hair gently while comforting her with shushing noises, her sobs were stifled by his chest, until she was able to finally calm down.

"It's ok Marinette, I'm here! I'm here! Everything will be fine!" Marinette's slightly trembling arms wrapped around his waist as she raised her head onto his shoulder. Allowing a moment to appreciate being held by someone again, she closed her eyes and fought against the cold loneliness that had once again attacked her heart. Despite herself, she couldn't help but inhale the faint smell of shower gel that lingered on his skin.

Pulling away slowly as she wiped her eyes, she allowed an awkward chuckle to escape her, "I'm sorry, you must think I'm such a baby waking up crying like that!" Adrien quickly shook his head while his hand gently stroked the shimmering trail that had been left by her tears.

"Of course not! Did you have a bad dream?" Once again avoiding eye contact, she closed her eyes as she recalled the wonderful but anguishing dream, "No. It was wonderful, I… just wish it could be real!"

Hazarding a guess as to what it could have been about, he leaned in so that his forehead touched hers with a warming smile, "It still can be! Don't give up Marinette- ever!" He lowered his head as he considered his own words.

'Don't give up' like he had done with his Ladybug. Had he given up though? He had still returned after all- there must have still been a small part of him that was hoping he could still claim her for himself.

With slightly hopeful eyes, she looked up at him with a small smile, "do you think so? Do you think I can really have it one day?" He lifted her chin then placed a tender kiss on her lips, "I'm certain you can!" Laying back again, he gently pulled her to him and held her in his arms tenderly, before whispering to himself "I hope I can have it one day too!"

"Good morning!" Adrien was grinning in her direction as she groaned and pulled the covers over her head, while a muffled voice sounded from beneath it, "not really! I feel like I have barely slept; it's pissing it down outside, my head is pounding and to top it all off- we have stinking work!"

Adrien peeked under the covers with a smirk, "actually…I got a call earlier. The rest of the conference has been rescheduled to next week; apparently the bad weather has made it difficult for people to make it here, one of the rivers nearby has flooded the main road, there have been a few power cuts as a result and they never managed to fixed the tech issues!"

Unable to believe her luck yet again, Marinette's arms threw back against the pillow above her head as she cried to the ceiling, "Yes! This is awesome!" Adrien pulled on some off-white cotton bottoms as he shook his head in amusement, "shall we go down for breakfast?"

She nodded eagerly as Adrien passed her a T-shirt from out of his drawers, "here you can wear that for now if you want?" She accepted it with gratitude as she noted that she had left her bag of clean clothes downstairs- she already surmised she wouldn't end up leaving until the morning.

The shirt was long enough to reach her thighs and was slightly baggy on her, but better yet it smelled just like Adrien! Smirking slightly, she waited until Adrien wasn't looking in her direction, before slyly pulling the shirt to her nose and breathing in his scent- ignoring the fact that what she was doing was slightly crazy and stalker-ish!

"Morning girl! Morning Adrien- wanna do a girl a favour and go see if you have any luck in trying to wake up my lazy husband? I give up!" He nodded with a laugh, "sure thing Alya, help yourself to breakfast and coffee!"

Once he was out of sight, Alya's face morphed into that of the Cheshire cat, "Ok now you can spill the beans quickly! Judging by the fact you're wearing his shirt, I doubt you had your own guest room! You totally fucked Adrien Agreste!"

Rushing over to her and hastily covering her mouth, Marinette looked over her shoulders to see that no one had entered the kitchen, "voice down! Jeez! And what if I did? You were the one who said I should move on. Besides, it's not as if last night was the first time!" Her hand flew up to her mouth quickly- she hadn't meant to admit to that!

Alya's hands flew up to her mouth in shock, "What?! I totally need to take you out for a girl date so we can discuss this further! Girl what you cringing for? I never said it was a bad thing…at least one of us is getting some! Nino and I were so drunk, we fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow…that's married life for you."

With a low exhale of air, she poured out some coffee and beamed in Marinette's direction, "I'm so glad we got to hang out last night! I love seeing how much better you seem- Adrien is having an awesome effect on you and I love him for that!"

Marinette hugged her closely, "thanks, he really has brought me from the edge of insanity hasn't he?" Marinette couldn't deny that in the incredibly short time she had known Adrien, he had undoubtedly brought her back from the brink of death- a broken heart would eventually give up beating!

Nodding in approval as she sipped some more coffee, Alya set the cup down as the guys appeared. Nino greeted Alya with a kiss on the cheek before accepting the cup Adrien handed him, "Morning babe- coffee still hot?" Alya rolled her eyes as she poured the coffee into his cup, "here- hurry up because we both have work!"

"Do you think they will get back safely? The roads are so wet!" Adrien closed the door against the rain and nodded his head reassuringly, "I sure hope so, but then again Alya is driving and she seems capable enough."

Marinette held her elbow shyly as she scrutinised the awkward silence between them, "erm… well just give me a moment to grab my bag then I'll head back too." She had begun to walk up the stairs but Adrien rushed forward and grabbed her wrist, "Wait! You don't have to go do you? I mean, you could stay a while longer if you wanted to."

Butterflies fluttered in her stomach; he wanted her to stay? They had no work and the weather was dreadful- would it hurt? She hoped not, but even still she couldn't resist and though she worried that she was falling in too deep- she agreed.

They headed back to his room and climbed back into bed, "want to watch a movie? Don't worry nothing scary." Once he had pressed play, he settled next to her before pulling her close and resting his head on the top of hers.

The whole time she laid in his arms, images of the night before were playing over and over in Marinette's mind, Sex in Adrien's bed, the feel of his shirt against her skin and his consoling embrace after her dream. She could still smell his scent all around her on the bedsheets, his shirt and on him! She wondered if the smell of her perfume would also linger in his bed like his had done on her sofa.

Oddly, this pleased her. She imagined him going to bed later once she had returned home, and catching scent of her smell- would his mind be focussing on her? Would his hands wander in response? The thought of Adrien masturbating over her caused a sudden warmth to her face.

She closed her eyes and listened to his heartbeat, it was a little fast for someone resting in bed- but surely his mind wandered in similar directions to hers? For a short while they engaged in idle chit chat about work and the night before with Nino and Alya-but Marinette's mind had always been elsewhere.

Adrien watched wide eyed as she climbed onto him and lowered her face to his- carefully pressing her mouth against his lips, needing no further persuasion, he grabbed the bottom of the shirt and yanked it over her head.

Fingers held onto her waist tightly and as she was lowered onto her back she lifted her legs and wrapped them around Adrien, she knew how she wanted to spend today- just like this. A day with her legs around Adrien Agreste!

Marinette chuckled when she realised how dark it was outside, Adrien had already prepared dinner and brought it to his room. Just as she had wanted they had literally spent the entire day in bed. With a grin, Adrien laid on his side and watched Marinette finish her food, "making love all day and night really works up an appetite doesn't it?"

He laid back and sighed contentedly- unaware of the horror that had suddenly appeared on Marinette's face. She dropped her fork and pushed her plate away- suddenly feeling a little sick.

Making love? Yes…they had made love. What she was doing here and now was proof that it wasn't just fucking. She was sat in his bed, eating his food and wearing his shirt. They hadn't been apart for scarcely a minute since they had met!

She briefly wondered when it had stopped being a simple fuck and turned into something more; but she had no answer, only another question- did Adrien feel the same? Feeling the depth of her feelings for him hit her like a ton of bricks, Marinette remembered her dream- she still couldn't decide if her husband had been Adrien or Luka!

Overwhelming confusion swept over her in an instant, making her jump to her feet. Grabbing wildly at her clothes and bag, she began dressing at an alarming rate, "sorry…I have to go. I need to get back home quickly…sorry!"

Things had taken a downward turn so quickly; Adrien had barely got chance to say goodbye as she fled from his room. Minutes later he could see her red car racing down the road through the ever-pouring rain.

He stared at the spot where she had been laid until a short while ago and felt deep regret. What had happened? Should he go after her?!

Only sparing time to change as hastily as Marinette had, Adrien ran to his car and drove as fast as he felt would be safe in these treacherous conditions. He didn't have to wonder why she fled- he knew. Just like he had in that moment- she must have realised the extent of her feelings and panicked. He knew she must have felt the same confusion and conflict within her about Luka as he felt about Ladybug.

The last thing he wanted was to scare her away! He really hoped he could fix this- and fast! An unpleasant felling settled in the pit of his stomach as he noted dark tyre marks against the road ahead of him, slowing down to investigate them, he prayed that it was all in his imagination while his eyes narrowed through the darkness ahead.

Seeing a stationary red car in front of him, the shadowy feeling of dread tormented him as he scrambled out of his seat- before racing towards the wreckage ahead, "shit! Shit! Marinette? Oh no! Please be ok!"

The red car was indeed a wreck, but nothing could scare him more then to see the injured Marinette still sat inside! He fell to his knees and sobbed uncontrollably while he struggled against the door handle which had become stuck. Having rushed after her he had failed to bring his phone so he could not call for help and so he could only pray that someone would pass soon and offer help! He needed to desperately hold on to hope that Marinette was going to be alright, because he could not allow himself to consider the alternative!

Pure white wings fluttered defiantly against the heavy droplets of rain! Adrien reached out to it angrily- how he wanted to take it into his hands and crush it! Distant sirens roused Adrien from his anger, making way for relief, as Marinette was carried into the ambulance.

When he asked who had made the call, the only thing they were able to confirm was that the call was made anonymously. Adrien attempted to follow them into the van, however, they held out their arm and asked how he was related to Marinette. Without hesitation he responded, "I'm her boyfriend- let me go with her!" Sorry Marinette, I have labelled us now- I refuse to let you run away again!
