Hello, again.

Time to see how the School Duel will be decided.

I don't own Yugioh GX or Fairy Tail.

Duel Off Tournament

Shepard cleared his throat. "As you all know, the School Duel against North Academy is fast approaching. Normally, we would have Zane Truesdale participate, but they are sending a first year student for it. As such, in the spirit of fairness, we'll be doing the same. Any suggestions?"

He was asking the other teachers, as well as Zane himself, who they thought would be a good candidate for the School Duel.

Zane was the first to speak. "Heh. Soul-Lock."

"I'm afraid it isn't so simple, Zane." Crowler said. "Jaden, Bastion, and Alexis are also pretty close to the top themselves. And considering Ms. Isabella's general attitude, she would probably decline anyways."

Banner nodded. "She never did take much stock into dueling, preferring more physical activities. Still doesn't hurt to give her the offer. But I wonder why you mentioned Ms. Rhodes in particular?"

"Like the others, she has rarely lost a duel." Crowler explained. "I'm not the only one that says that all four have been the top freshman duelists this year, right?"

The others nodded at that.

"And at the very least, we want to give a good challenge for them." Crowler said. "Otherwise we either look weak or not taking it seriously."

"That's saying something, coming from you." Satyr remarked.

Crowler sighed. "I know, but I'm being honest here. I'm not about to make the same mistake I did then."

"To keep your job?" Satyr asked, only for Crowler to turn to him with a stern expression.

"This isn't about the damn job. My actions against Soul-Lock shouldn't have happened. But I can't change the past, only the future."

"Gentleman, please." Shepard placated. Once they calmed down, he said. "Crowler does have a point, Satyr. Bella, Jaden, Bastion, and Alexis will all be notified today, and if more than one accepts, then we'll just have them duel until it is decided who will be our representative. Agreed?"

They all nodded.

"Dismissed, then."

"I'll pass."

Banner sighed. "We'd figured you might say that. Still had to offer."

"True." Bella admitted. "But the fact remains, I don't care about dueling. Unlike most people here, I actually try to have a fucking life."

Banner frowned, but said nothing. He knew he wouldn't be able to change her mind.

She then said, "And besides, I thought you guys wanted it to be fair?"

That got him to laugh as he realized something. The Fairies would be too powerful.

"We didn't think of that." Banner admitted. "This is mean to be a fair competition, and the Fairies are in a league of their own."

"But I'm sure I can check with Mavis if one of the others is the best fit." Bella offered. "Otherwise, it would probably be simplest to go for a simple tournament between Alexis, Jaden, and Bastion. Whoever wins both of their matches makes the cut."

With that, the two parted ways, each to get things ready in their own way.

Sorry, but I think I'll just cut it off here. Make it sort of a mini-arc, as it were, with the duels being separate chapters. Nothing ever said I couldn't stretch a canon episode into multiple chapters.

Also, this just caught a case of 'bad timing.' Couldn't focus.

Until next time. Please let me know what you think.
