Hello, again.
In place of Chazz's entry into North Academy, I give you this. I've also been giving a general idea as to the time frame of at least a few events (Spur of the moment idea).
I don't own Yugioh GX or Fairy Tail.
Some scars take longer to fade
Bella slumped onto her bed with a sigh. "Dammit, the hippie's well and truly gone from Duel Academy. No one's seen him since Jaden dealt with him. Guess we can only hope he's safe, wherever he is."
"Sorry, Bella." Mavis said for her and the Exceeds, who had tried to help find the boy, only to fail as well.
But the girl waved her off. "It's alright, considering I also checked Domino and the surrounding area, yet no sign. You did your best."
They were still somewhat despondent at that, but ultimately put it out of their minds.
Just then, a polite knock came from the door. "Hey, Bella. You decent in there?"
"Yeah, Jaden." Bella responded, getting the door to open and reveal Jaden and Syrus, who immediately noticed her disposition.
"No sign of him?" It was more a statement than an actual question, but Bella confirmed it anyway.
"He's long gone." She sat up and looked at them. "Searched in Domino even. No trail at all. He just disappeared."
"Bummer." Jaden scratched his head somberly as Syrus looked down a bit. "At any rate, think you're up to hanging out today?"
Bella shook her head. "Sorry, but even I have times when I prefer a more peaceful setting, and I can usually get that when I'm alone with nature."
"We feel ya." Syrus said, knowing just the type of thing she was talking about. "Just don't hesitate if you want to talk or anything, okay?"
"Okay, shrimp." Bella returned, gracing a small smile before they left, only to lose it once they were gone.
What they didn't realize, was that this was the day she woke up all those years ago. The day when she first saw Baker, the cage, everything.
None of the Fairies spoke, knowing just what was going through her head as she packed them up, locked up, and walked off.
Well, more like wandered off, as she didn't really aim all that much until she found a decent enough outlook towards the water and sat down, hugging her legs to her chest as she just stared outward.
Silence followed for a few minutes (though it felt like longer), before Zane's voice pierced her mind. "You look like you could use some company. Besides Spirits and cards."
"Hello, Zane." Bella said without looking at him as the boy sat down beside her.
A few more moments of silence later, Bella started speaking again. "Today's the day I woke up in that lab."
Zane instantly looked at her.
"It took a bit before I figured out the exact date, but today is when my current 'life' began all those years ago. Heh, 'life.' More like half-life, considering my powers." Bella expression darkened for a brief moment. "It always just seems to hit me harder on this day than any other, even with some of the worse nightmares I've had over the years. Though a part of it might be the fact he had used today to change my eye as well."
"Are you certain about that exactly?"
Bella glanced at Zane. "I was awake and aware of everything as the bastard gouged my eye out on that table."
"...that's why you screamed. Before the Exams." Zane stated.
Bella looked down, but didn't speak.
Even so, the answer was quite loud to Zane. And while he knew better than to feel pity, he couldn't help but internally wince at the fact that she remembers the entire process (and without anesthetics to boot).
It was...disarming, to say the least.
Zane didn't quite know just what to do beyond what he has already done. This was about all he really did with Alexis (over her brother), and if he was being honest with himself, he wasn't the best role model to Syrus either.
"I'm...sorry." He finally said, looking away. "For bringing it up."
"Don't be." Bella looked at him. "I know I've told the Fairies about it before, but something feels a bit different about this time, actually. Either way, thanks for listening."
Zane stood up. "No problem. Even though the others are probably fighting Ganondorf by now, we'll b-"
He instantly had an intense stare in his face from Bella. "Ganondorf?"
"Among others, Ocarina of Time." He just barely finished that sentence before he found himself flying behind Bella as she shouted, "JADEN, YOU FUCKING BASTARD! WHY DIDN'T YOU START WITH SAYING JUST WHAT YOU WERE DOING?! I'M NOT LETTING THAT DAMN PIG ESCAPE ME AGAIN!"
She must really hate Ganondorf to get this reaction. Either that, or she just really likes Ocarina of Time.
However, neither of them noticed a shadow looking on in the direction they left for a few moments before departing with a...slight meow?
...know this isn't much, but bare with me. Alongside being made up as I went along for a filler, this chapter isn't meant to be anything major. Yes, it is a Bella/Zane moment, but overall, seeing as he was Alexis' only real close support at Duel Academy over the disappearance of her brother, he was really the only one of them that had any sort of experience for this type of situation. I'll tell you who it is if you haven't figured it out come next chapter.
As for that little bit at the end, it should be pretty obvious (and not just Bella's gag intensity over Ocarina of Time.)
Until next time. Please let me know what you think.
