Allison sighed, her head leaning back on the car windows.

Adrien and her hadn't spend lots of time together recently—Nino and Alya was being friend hogs.

All Adrien and Allison could do was smile at each other, give short pecks before one of them gets dragged off to who-knows-where.

She sighed through her nose, closing her eyes.

We'll both be free today, I guess.

Upon arriving at the school, Allison bid Henry a short farewell before skipping ahead.

She was told by Alya to head to the library where everybody was, so she did.

"Hey, Mari!" Allison greeted as Marinette sprinted over next to her, panting a little before greeting her back.

"Hey, Ally," Marinette straightened up. "Where is everybody?"

"Library, apparently." Allison shrugged. "Come on."

Allison leaned on the bookshelf at the corner, squinting at her oblivious boyfriend who seemed to not notice her while being fully invested in his video game.

She has been leaning on the same shelf for twenty minutes.

She wouldn't be pissed if he was winning.

He was not.

Allison didn't like it when he lost.

He whined a lot.

"What's this for?" Allison asked, running a hand through her hair and shooting a glance at the nearest person.

"Tryouts for the Paris Ultimate Megastrike III tournament!" Rose screeched. "The school's choosing the two students with the highest scores!"

"What?" Allison blinked, wondering what was so interesting with the game. "It's literally Tekken. With Robots. Transformer Tekken."

Rose shook her head as Allison muttered to herself. "How is this interesting? It's Transformer Tekken."

"Well, the tryouts are for a partner to team up with Max at the tournament." Kim followed up.

"Max?"

"He's unbeatable, apparently." Marinette whispered, walking up to them.

"A total rockstar, he's got the highest APM over anyone." Kim explained.

"APM?" Marinette whispered in confusion.

"Actions per Minute." Allison hummed, making Kim, Marinette and Rose turn over to look at her in shock.

Allison rolled her eyes. "Just because I don't like them doesn't mean Adrien doesn't force me to play it with him."

"Well, anyway," Kim shrugged. "This contest is his whole life and has been grinding all year to level up."

As the four students turned to face the screen, they were shocked to see that he's one-hit away from winning.

Well, except for Allison, who rolled her eyes.

Adrien liked turning the game around at the last minute.

Adrien shot his final move, ultimately killing Max's character.

His name ascended on the High Score list, putting him on Top 1 as he fist pumped.

Max gaped, blinking in shock.

Adrien whirled around, grinning widely at Allison. "Baby, I won!"

"Why am I not surprised?" Allison grinned back, amused at Adrien's giggling.

Allison and Adrien's eyes both drifted to Max who swallowed back his pride and smiled at Adrien. "Awesome job, we're gonna make a killer combo!"

Adrien smiled back, giving him a high-five before bounding over to Allison.

"Good morning!"

"Good morning." Allison smiled, giggling as Adrien leaned down to peck her lips.

"Let me get this straight," Marinette squinted her eyes. "If someone managed to beat Max's score, they'll team up with Adrien at the tournament?"

Adrien smiled over at her and nodded enthusiastically while Kim scoffed. "No one can beat Max—or rather Max and Adrien."

Alya scooted off to the side for a few seconds, dragging Marinette with her.

After a while, Marinette sprinted out of a row of bookshelves challenging Max for his place at the tournament.

After a while, Marinette shoots up with a scream as her robot defeats Max's. "Yeah! I win, I win!"

Everyone else looks at her in shock, amusement on Alya and Allison's parts.

"I can't believe it—She beat him?" Kim asked, his tone sounding like he was questioning his entire existence.

"Beat him? She pulverized him!" Alya screamed, making Allison laugh.

Marinette was still doing her happy dance in front of the screen.

"I accept this defeat and relinquish my position on the tournament." Max sighed sadly. "I wish you all the best, Marinette and Adrien."

"Max?" Adrien called, approaching the boy who walked past him.

Everyone was silent as he walked out of the library.

"So, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste will be representing Francois Dupont at the Paris Ultra Megastrike III tournament." The principal called out in a firm voice. "I wish you all the best and good luck to both of you."

"Well, I guess I'll be coming over to practice with my new partner." Adrien smiled over at Marinette, waving as he walked over to Allison.

"See you later!" He smiled as he led Allison out of the library.

"Does this mean I won't be seeing you again for the next week?" Allison hummed.

"I love you, baby." Adrien cooed.

"Fine." Allison sighed, rolling her eyes as Adrien kissed her temple. "How bad can it get?"

Bad.

Really bad.

It has been two days.

All she's been getting is a "Hi, babe!" and a kiss in the morning.

At dismissals, Adrien gives her a short kiss and a "Bye, babe!" before sprinting out of the school to practice.

She was so Adrien-deprived—It's not even funny anymore.

"Allison, let's go out and do something!" Efa pleaded, pulling on her arm.

Allison groaned from her position, face-down on the bed.

She raised her head and whined. "I'm sad."

"I know, Allison." Efa sighed.

"I'm really sad."

"I know, I can tell." Efa groaned, dropping Allison's arm as she flew back over to sit on her bedpost.

"He's been spending more time playing video games with Marinette." Allison groaned again, rolling over. "Like, literally. Just invite me over. I just want to spend time with him."

"Why don't you tell him?"

"How could I?" Allison scoffed. "I see him, and he's missing in about five seconds."

Efa shook her head in frustration.

Allison rolled over. "I'm a big ball of sad Adrien trash."

"Yes, I can see that."

There was a few muffled screams outside, making Allison shoot her head up.

"What's happening?" Efa asked.

Allison trudged over to her window, opening it and screaming outside.

"I'm screaming because you're screaming—What are we screaming about?"

A green laser blast hit her window, making her stumble back inside her room. "Not what I expected."

She glanced back out to see a large pyramid blasting everything in it's path and turning it into—

"XP orbs." Allison whispered, sprinting over to Efa. "It's Max—he's been akumatized!"

"What are you waiting for?"

"Efa, let's fly!"

Phoenix screeched as she flew across town.

Not in her usual way—No.

She was fighting alone, and she was tossed.

From the Eiffel to a park a few blocks away.

She slammed hard into the concrete, rolling and stopping at a bench inhabited by two teens.

She glanced up to see Adrien and Marinette, a blanket of treats in between them.

"I'm sorry, but what?" Phoenix asked, rolling back to a sitting position. "What is this?"

Adrien gaped as she pointed at him and Marinette.

"What is what?" Adrien was at a loss for words, sputtering the first thing he has in mind.

"Holy shit." Phoenix shook her head, clenching her fist.

She took a deep breath and opened her eyes. "Okay. Kid got akumatized. Run."

She turned sharply, pursing her lips as her hands started to ignite on fire. "I'm gonna wreck this boy."

Adrien can only gape as she sprinted away from them, her whole body starting to turn into a walking fireball.

They started to pack up.

After a while, they heard a few blast.

Adrien looked up, only to see a bright green beam heading Marinette's way.

Adrien jumped on Marinette, saving her from a laser blast.

He fell on top of her, gasping as his face almost mashed into hers.

The two of them stayed in the same position, blushing awkwardly.

He felt a small blast of heat, looking up to see Phoenix.

She floated behind him—not on fire anymore.

Phoenix shook her head, stepping down.

"I-I told you both to hide." Phoenix said, her voice low as she smiled.

"I—You did." Marinette nodded as she sat up.

"Okay." Phoenix nodded, her voice quiet as she turned. "If you guys see Chat and Ladybug on the way, please tell them I'm right here."

"Phoenix." Adrien called out, but the heroine ignored him.

Clearing her throat, she smiled over at Gamer.

"Let's play."

Phoenix hid behind a post, beat up and tired.

"Efa, let's land." She wheezed, letting Efa phase out of her before sprinting off to a nearby underground subway station to rest.

"Okay, I need a break." Allison panted, handing a sqaure of chocolate to the kwami, who nibbled as fast as she can. "Where are those two?"

"Allison," Efa frowned.

"Seriously!" Allison growled, her lips curling. "He told me they were practicing! They were here in a park, eating tarts and staring into each other's eyes."

Efa stayed quiet as a flurry of emotions passed through Allison's eyes.

Allison breathed through her nose, shaking her head. "Whatever."

"Allison," Efa sighed sadly.

"Are you ready?" Allison asked weakly, smiling over at the kwami.

"Are you okay?" Efa asked, making Allison chuckle weakly.

"Probably just overthinking things, I guess." Allison shrugged. "I told you I'm Adrien-deprived."

"If you say so," Efa replied quietly.

Allison shot her a thankful glance, glad she's not prying.

"Efa, let's fly."

Phoenix landed softly behind Ladybug.

Chat seemed to not have noticed, engaged in a conversation with Ladybug.

"He's only on Level 3, the highest is Level 4!"

"Wait—you know that game? Ultimate Megastrike?"

"Duh, of course!" Ladybug giggled, tilting her head at Chat's excited attitude.

"Is that like, a requirement for this battle?" Phoenix hummed, tapping the metal of the robot beside her.

Ladybug jumped, seeing Phoenix behind her.

"Where did you come from?" Chat asked, confused.

"Does it really matter?" Phoenix replied softly, shooting him a small smile before turning away. "How do we beat this thing?"

Chat frowned as she continued to talk. "Like, do we have to make it rain?"

"Make it rain?" Ladybug asked in confusion.

"Well, they're robots, aren't they?" Phoenix scrunched her eyebrows. "Wet robots are broken robots. Technology 101."

Ladybug shook her head. "We play this like we play the game."

"Of course," Allison sighed.

"I know how," Ladybug called, sprinting away.

"Follow me!"

Immediately, Chat seizes Phoenix's hand.

"Babe, what's wrong?" Chat asked. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Adrien." Phoenix shook her head, smiling at him. "Why?"

"You just—" Chat scratched his head. "Earlier, you looked so—"

"I'm okay, really." Phoenix shrugged. "Now, come on."

Chat sighed as Phoenix sauntered away, swinging her large keyblade beside her.

The conversation will have to continue another time, he guessed.

Phoenix flew around the arena, trying to block the laser beams with her keyblade before it hit the ground.

Chat and Ladybug stayed at the ground, running around to avoid stray beams that Phoenix didn't get to block as they figured out a way to beat Gamer.

"Cataclysm!" Chat screamed as he activated his power, leaping up and attacking the robot.

Phoenix landed back on the ground and faced Ladybug. "Now, what do we do?"

Chat landed in between them, cheering as he high-fived Ladybug.

"Smack down, Chat Noir!"

"Chat Noir style!" Chat cheered as he smiled over at Phoenix.

"That was cool, right?" Chat giggled excitedly.

"Yeah, it was!" Phoenix nodded with a grin, turning over to Gamer as she twirled her keyblade. "Where's your akuma?"

A giant orb formed above her, making her gasp as it landed down.

She leaped back, eyes wide.

Chat whistled. "Wow, check out that loot!"

"The what?"

"System crashed, Gamer!" Ladybug called.

"You forgot the rules," Gamer laughed, reaching up to click something on his glasses.

"Hey, I have a gaming question," Phoenix gulped as a large body reformed around Max. "Does Ultra Megastrike III have a saving point?"

"Saving point?" Ladybug asked.

"Like Kingdom Hearts, you nitwit." Phoenix hissed.

"No," Chat winced. "but you can save your final levels."

The three heroes looked at each other as Max laughed, fully restored in his robot suit.

"That's a saving point, you dumbass!" Phoenix screeched, jumping on Chat to push him out of the way of a laser beam.

"Respawn!" Max called out.

"Not the old spawn point glitch again." Chat sighed.

"I wonder." Phoenix frowned, looking down at her keyblade. "We're in a game, right?"

Ladybug and Chat looked at her, nodding.

"Yeah, why?"

"Any game?" Phoenix asked, changing her grip on her keyblade.

"Phoenix?"

"Give me strength!" Phoenix called, throwing her keyblade up.

She was encased in a bright light before she sprinted out.

Phoenix now held two keys, her outfit turning into short bright-red dress-shorts, a black tank top, and a red cropped jacket.

Her eyes were glowing and her red hair glowed, too.

"Oh my god!" Phoenix gasped as she stopped glowing. "I'm a keyblade master!"

"You always have been?" Ladybug scratched her head, while Chat chuckled at his girlfriend.

"He's not a keyblade master."

Phoenix turned, glaring over at him and pointing the two keys at him. "Let me enjoy this."

"Will do."

Ladybug shook her head. "Did you see him push the button on those glasses?"

"Oh, yeah."

"I bet the akuma's in there." Ladybug theorized as she checked the loot from their team's last win.

Immediately, they were encased in a red light, landing on their own giant Ladybug-themed robot.

"Ha, we levelled up, too!"

The three landed in their positions inside the robot.

"I'll land it, you shoot. Phoenix on special attacks." Chat commanded.

Phoenix narrowed her eyes in confusion. "There's a special attack?"

"Limit Breaks and Power Moves, babe."

"Noted."

After a long battle, the three heroes seem to have the same amount of power as their opponent—which meant they couldn't win unless they cheat somehow.

"I'm never getting into another robot ever again." Phoenix hissed, clutching her head from the headache that was forming.

"Sorry," Chat chuckled.

Ladybug crawled out of the entrance to the robot, calling out her Lucky Charm like she always did.

"Don't you just love video games?" Chat smirked, making phoenix roll her eyes.

"Yep, totally."

Ladybug called in the hole. "So, I got a can of spray paint."

"So?"

"I'm gonna spray him."

"This is cheating." Phoenix hummed.

"Do your thing." Chat rolled her eyes.

"That's lame." Phoenix butted in.

Ladybug giggled, back off to fix the akuma.

And she did.

And it was over.

"Pound it!"

Allison sat on the benches, about two seats away from Alya and Marinette—who was having a heart-to-heart talk with Max.

Adrien, apparently, gave up his position in the competition so Max and Marinette can play.

Adrien sat next to her, intertwining their hands. "Hi."

Allison hummed, raising her head and smiling at him. "Oh, it's you."

"Are you okay?" Adrien asked, furrowing his eyebrows as he pushed a lock of hair behind Allison's ear. "I feel like we haven't been talking lately."

"I'm great." Allison shrugged, adjusting her position to lean lightly on the blonde. "Just a rough week, I guess."

"Want to talk about it?"

Allison smiled, closing her eyes.

"Just," Allison looked up at him. "stay with me and tell me you love me."

Adrien grinned and nodded, leaning down.

"I love you."

Their lips crashed against each other.

And that was when it all started.
