Vahlok's Tale: The Hellish Retreat
In a land beyond mortal grasps lies a conflict between Daedra and the warriors of an Overlord.
"Vahlok! You are ordered to abandon the rearguard and rescue the priests ahead and reinforce our Overlord!" The mighty Dragon known as Wuthdeinkinbok declared in a rush, his words fell upon Vahlok's ears as the dragon flew ahead.
"This is quite an ugly turn, at first fighting against Hircine was going all too well but with that abomination coming to Hircine's aid…."
Vahlok brandished his blade and quickly raised it.
"Onwards! We are to push through this madness to our lord!" He yelled loudly to his soldiers that followed behind him.
"We're with you Vahlok!" Exclaimed an armored Nord by the name of Jorralg.
Vahlok smiled slightly as he rode onwards with his horse, Jorralg, like Vahlok was recruited on the day he met Alduin, he had been with the enemy until the time of his turn and since he had been a loyal and fervent man to Vahlok.
"Jorralg! Stay with me!" Vahlok told the man above the many roars around them.
Fur cloaked figures appeared in front of the Dragon Priest and his followers, the men were attacking a large red dragon.
Odahviing, Alduin's greatest was in combat.
The red dragon smirked as the youngest of the dragon priests charged through the cultists of Hircine, he and his men striking them down as they rode and ran by.
"I believe I have once said that I am able to handle myself Vahlok!" The dragon chuckled as the blonde haired dragon priest rode past him.
"There are many of them." Vahlok said as he rode on.
"They bring their beasts with them!" The Dragon yelled once more as a distinct howling was heard in the distance.
"Burn them in my absence!" Odahviing added, barely hearable to Vahlok; the man meditated to the dragon's words, there was something so endearing to the youngest of all Dragon Priests about his one of his lord's sayings.
The werewolves charged a group of black clad nord warriors being assailed on all sides, Vahlok saw a fellow Priest with them, Nahkriin.
"Ah here you are maskless one." The priest greeted Vahlok.
"It's come to this, are you ready for the fire attack?" Asked Vahlok.
Nahkriin and Vahlok stood amongst the fighting, their men were quickly winning.
"Of course! I am prepared, with my endless ability to continue work for our lords. Of which.." The man trailed as a fireball whizzed past his head, Nahkriin physically winced.
Nahkriin was not well versed in the arts of war.
"Morokei is ahead, and he is in trouble. I know he's troublesome but if you could, for the sake of her." Nahkriin requested. Vahlok merely nodded.
"I am the rearguard, it is my duty to ensure we all escape." Vahlok remained dutiful in his tone.
"Good, I'll be there soon. Hurry to our lord." Nahkriin dismissed as he turned away from the mounted Vahlok.
Vahlok and his follower Jorralg regrouped their men and continued through the thickening forest.
The sounds of horrendus fighting lingered all around them as scattered friend and foe continued battle, man vs man, beast versus dragon.
It wasnt long before Vahlok reached Morokei, the priest who held the great city of Labyrinthia under Alduin.
Morokei stood with his armor and cloak bloodied as his form was seen fighting through a mass.
Vahlok and Jorralg charged to the rescue.
The untrained and unarmored cultists were falling easily, it was only when some mutated into beasts did the black clad warriors fret against their odds.
"Vahlok! You're staying to fight with the rest of the rearguard too?" He asked, surprised.
"You think I planned on leaving you to die?" Thought Vahlok.
"If it is necessary for our lord's defense I am ready to do whatever must be done and die for it." Replied Vahlok.
Morokei scoffed.
"Excellently put! May you feel free to go down burning in a swath of glory at any time you want. I...would be happy to inherit your belongings for you." Morokei chuckled with malice.
Vahlok's expression remained unchanged.
"Well, I'll have my men get moving too. I'm certain I can hear her yelling from over here." Morokei spoke once more, a loud roar was heard in the distance, a large trail of ice flew into the sky and fell down unto some unseen area.
"Hey, Hakon! You go ahead." Morokei ordered to a man.
Vahlok spotted a warrior, with red hair upon him and a the beginnings of a beard, he bore a confident grin accelerated by blue eyes and blue warpaint on his face. He held a Greataxe with him.
Vahlok did recognize this man.
Hakon approached as he got up on a horse and came up to Vahlok and Jorralg.
"There's something wrong with all of these people." Hakon first said to them as they rode.
"These cultists all want to die!" He exclaimed bitterly.
"It is not just them." Vahlok replied calmly.
"I meant everyone, Vahlok. There is little difference." Said Hakon.
Vahlok did not respond.
It was not long past through the countless deceased and ruined and burnt terrain around them did they come across another set of allies.
Two dragons, Alduin's close claws; Faaskunviin and her mate Geindokun engaged in combat with reptilian creatures.
"Aid them!" Ordered Vahlok as he swiftly rode to them.
Clannfear, a beast that did not belong here. It confirmed the worst that was already known to Vahlok.
Faaskunviin made a roar as the Clannfear that swarmed around her tried to tear through her scales, she was surrounded as Geindokun was off facing more Clannfear approaching his beloved.
"Vahlok! Vahlok!" Faaskunviin screamed.
Vahlok hurriedly cut his way to her, the screaming from Faaskunviin shook his inner heart.
The clannfear, with large claws and horned and armored heads slammed themselves against Vahlok and Hakon beside him.
"They're trying to tear through our armor!" Hakon spat.
It was though it were a horde of vermin they were giving it all against.
Vahlok and the two Dragon's Shouts froze, burned, and suffocated the reptilian beasts who still kept suicidally charging at them.
The clannfear that stuck onto Faaskunviin were hacked off by the dragon priest.
"Vahlok, you came for us." Said the dragon, grateful.
"I am one of your priests, I will give my strength to you come what may." Vahlok replied.
"Are you injured?" Vahlok then asked.
"Scratches and tears, they will heal and I can still fly." The black dragon grunted out. Pain was pain.
"Please do not get engage in combat until you are fine. We can fight for you." Replied Vahlok.
"All would be for nothing if we could not fight alongside." The dragon known as Geindokun said, a small rumbling chuckle escaped him.
Vahlok raised his sights to the blue dragon's eyes.
Geindokun was rather different from the rest of his kind. Vahlok only knew two others. Two others that he was looking for.
"Our lord, where is the Overlord and the Master?" Vahlok asked Geindokun in all respect.
"Do not bow before me good Vahlok, they are up ahead with the others. Alduin and Paarthunax shall be joined just over this path, you can almost hear them now from here." The dragon replied.
Hakon and Jorralg came up, the two bowed.
"We sent the runts running." Reported Jorralg as he faced them.
"Are your followers fine?" Faaskunviin then asked the three men before her and Geindokun.
"Our men are devoted and able, they came with us here, they will come with us out of this land with a litany of victory." Vahlok said proudly.
The two dragons smiled.
Vahlok was their greatest and most devoted in such a small amount of time.
"We shall lead, follow us and remain safe." Geindokun then stated.
The sky above them began to turn red.
It was a horrendous sign.
"Where are the reinforcements!?" A loud and overwhelming voice could be heard, Alduin's voice.
Hurriedly the column of Alduin's warriors began to pick up their pace.
Vahlok outpaced the rest as he sped to the rescue.
The young dragon priest saw dragons landing only a short distance away, just ahead of him.
The form of Alduin appeared amongst a horde of enemies.
These enemies were humanoid, but not any race of man.
Dremora.
Vahlok charged through the battle, allowing his reinforcements to clean their way upwards as they pushed their own ways through to their draconic masters.
He leaped from his horse as neared close enough to Alduin to begin fighting off the most formidable dremora.
"Die mortal!" One dremora growled as it marched so terrifyingly towards him.
Alduin had once educated Vahlok on the Dremora, there were many sorts of them in their clans, he recognized this one already by it's weak armor.
The Dremora Churl foolishly thrusted it's sword at Vahlok's armored chest.
Vahlok merely took a dodge backwards and summoned a spell of Ice, the spike went right through it's head. Another then came at him.
Overconfident the new Dremora was as its bloodthirst consumed it's own desire for self-preservation. Vahlok killed it near instantly as the powerful daedra barely recognized it's own peril.
"We must return home. Those who have arrived! I am counting on you to keep us all alive!" Alduin yelled amongst the battle.
Vahlok ran to her side.
"My lord, I shall assist your escape even if the cost is my own life!" He declared.
Alduin continued to face forwards, she had heard him.
"My true desire lies beyond this struggle that we currently face! For anyone to die here would be worthless to my cause!" The leader of all Skyrim stated loudly.
With that said Alduin led at the forefront onwards.
Vahlok rushed ahead of her.
He found a three large lines of dremora mages in his front and on his sides. Unarmored men with bows joined them.
"Vahlok, with me." Alduin said to him as she prepared her attack.
"Yol Toor Shul!" The two shouted at the ambushers as they all burned to crisps.
The land itself twisted and transformed through the Shout's power, the ground merely ripped itself and turned to ash.
Alduin then laughed.
"Do Molag and Hircine really think that was enough to stop me!?" She questioned incredulously.
"Welll, do you!?" Alduin's question was yelled into the red sky above them.
There was silence.
"They fear us sister, for what it is worth from them." Said a voice belonging to Paarthunax.
Paarthunax was in his prime, youthful compared to what he would look like so far into the future, scar-less and with a different air.
Alduin was silent and all with her was at a standstill.
"Brother, their reaction is growing ever weaker each time. Perhaps our expeditions have lost all their appeal in their own accomplishments." Alduin said to her brother.
"We still remain in terrible danger, do not forget it dear sister." Paarthunax replied.
"Of course." Alduin said before turning back to face the army behind her.
"Onwards dear followers! We must escape!" She then declared.
Vahlok kept himself in pace with the speed at which the flying dragons and his fellow dragon priests kept themselves with.
He stayed next to Alduin and Miraak for a long ride, then Odahviing began hovering in front of them.
"Dremora in our front and backs!" Odahviing said.
"We are surrounded then! All forces, we must fight through this predicament!" She then ordered to the frantic warriors around her.
Vahlok immediately spun around on his horse and moved to cover the back of all the dragon cult's forces.
Alduin turned for a moment as if to say something to Vahlok but he was already gaining more distance.
Miraak was also watching him go.
"You are too eager." The priest with the tentacled mask thought to himself, he then faced the oncoming dremora and pulled out a staff.
The maskless priest put the dremora kynmarcher in his sights as he charged solely outwards from the group of dragons and that of his fellow Morokei.
"Listen up! If we prove ourselves here and survive, then our rewards are guaranteed! But remember good disciples, you cannot enjoy the wealth if you die earning it!" Morokei said in a small speech he gave to the human warriors.
Morokei merely stood behind the men and dragons that faced the flanking dremora as he watched Vahlok dispatch the Kynmarcher only to turn around and strike at the enemy as he rode on back to the front of the army.
"The last reassuring thing in this hollow, ceaseless beast that is Alduin's world." Thought Morokei, a sad smile graced his face as he watched the youngest of dragon priests return.
Vahlok saw Alduin and the others finish the daedric reinforcements.
"Hmph, that was a waste of our time." Alduin growled.
"Now, we forge our exit." She then decided, no longer seeing a purpose in their destruction of the realm.
"Paarthunax! Begin!" Alduin ordered her brother.
Paarthunax began using Shouts to create what was a portal to come home, the Priest Nahkriin who had been particularly specialized in this role sprinted over to the exalted dragon and planted his staff as an aid to their powers.
Both air and earth erupted in a strange shimmer in a cone around the two.
"The portal is being constructed! Hold your ground warriors!" Cheered Vahlok.
Alduin stood close to him as he marched around. A large thumping could be heard in the deep and dark forest in front of them.
"Vahlok." The man heard Alduin say his name with little more sound than a murmur.
"My lord?" He turned himself and asked.
"Keep your heart where it is." Said Alduin.
Vahlok was dumbfounded for a moment before he formulated his response.
"I will." He replied.
Alduin showed hints of a smile.
"Good, now be ready; the dreaded one comes. Yet, where is the other?" She questioned herself.
Over the forests in front of the army towered a gigantic monster, reptillian in it's appearance and all the more beastly and inhuman.
Molag Bal had arrived, incarnate and terrifying to all.
"Molag! Did Hircine plead you to fight me whilst he cowers in his own realm!?" Alduin's growl pierced what would be the heavens.
Molag roared loudly.
"Swine, your interference is an irritable annoyance to us all! Begone you little fly!" The gigantic lizard-like monstrosity declared to the black dragon.
"We shall leave, but not before I teach you a lesson." She responded, before she turned away from the daedric god.
"Brothers, sisters, and worshippers. Begin the fire attack." Alduin bellowed as she flew upwards, immediately fires started spreading out from her followers and incinerating the earth and Hircine's beloved forest.
Continuing to ascend, she flew to fight Molag Bal.
Indescribable magic was summoned from Bal. To any man that stood agape in horror, fear awe or sheer wonder as the apparent weapons he used distorted the reality they were in, at least they could understand that much given the spectacle.
Vahlok saw dragons ascending to aid their overlord.
The Dragon priest stared thoughtlessly, he wanted to help but he was too far away with the whole forest burning around him and the others.
"Shor, please save us." A man prayed to another god quietly. Vahlok wasnt too sure that he would pray to Shor in this moment for any safety but his worriment grew.
He began patrolling as a rather strange quietness of any enemy activity in their area ceased, the gargantuan Molag Bal could be easily seen towering over the trees with only the rising smoke and flames acting as cover.
He decided he would see if Jorralg and Hakon were fine.
"This is like a nightmare I had once." The young priest heard from a similarly aged man stared with his eyes wide and a loose grip on his spear.
Focusing himself he moved his way through the groups of troops all standing solemnly as they waited.
The fighting continued in the distance and only seemed to intensify as bright flashes of colors came across the sky.
Vahlok was losing confidence in his own ability to fight the Daedric god of domination. This was his first sighting of any of the daedric gods, the other priests were far more experienced than he was by decades.
"Vahlok!" Jorralg called out.
Vahlok spun around to try and locate him amongst the groups of warriors. He saw a man with a bloodied hand raised up in the air.
Vahlok ran to him, and as he did a loud, inhuman scream was heard.
Stopping, Vahlok raised his head to witness a dragon plummeting above him.
The sight astounded him so much that he hardly noticed Molag withdrawing.
The ground shook when the dragon hit the ground, it did not stir to rise up.
Hevnovenbo, Vahlok recognized by the broken horn on it's right. Since the beginning of Alduin's reign he had fought as an underling and was contented to that, Vahlok had heard of Hevnovenbo being at worst cruel but a good fighter yet to see him fallen like this…..was shocking to him.
Groups of men stared on in disbelief, not once had a dragon ever died.
"H-He's dead!" One yelled, the owner of the voice could not be seen.
A strong gust of wind blew as Alduin rapidly flew in over the deceased Hev, who's body was beginning to shift strangely.
Her Shout was among all, the clearest.
"Slen Tiid Vo!" A bright flash emanated from Alduin towards Hevnovenbo, the light wasnt blinding to the eyes of Vahlok.
Whatever process was occurring to the old dragon stopped, and he began to arise, seams blew through his nose.
Vahlok realized it, a resurrection Shout. He had heard the words, but could not understand the Shout itself.
There was a silence, Paarthunax who had come to observe had his head lowered.
"They know now, sister." Thought Alduin's closest brother.
The aura of invincibility that the overlords of the nords had; begun a descent.
The only other question in Paarthunax's head is that if the poor mortals believed they could even harm them. He knew that they very well could, a fight with Miraak once proved that a long time ago.
Hevnovenbo stayed silent with so much as refusing to look at anyone, Alduin whispered something to him. Then flew upwards once more.
"All of you, you have survived where you should have died; triumphed, where you should have faltered. Molag Bal was no challenge for us in the end and we shall return home with the ruination of this twisted realm. Paarthunax and Nahkriin have forged our way home, follow it now!" She spoke to them all.
The human order troops were quickly gathered up by their Priests and went one at a time through the portal as all dragons save for Alduin herself left.
Vahlok's group was the last, his conversation with Jorralg had been brief. And Hakon had returned to Morokei.
Vahlok decided he would leave after all of his group had, unlike the other Priests who insisted on being the first to leave after the conclusion of their raids on the daedra.
Alduin shared a glance with Vahlok as the man left as Vahlok held sad expression on his face.
With that Vahlok made his way into the portal. Alduin flew in quickly afterwards, not wishing to face any would be ambushers that still lurked about.
Soon afterwards the Dragon Priests were all rewarded by their masters for their success in the raid against Hircine's realm. They received the usual amount of gold, jewels, and more importantly artifacts and crafting's that their overlords made.
More importantly was where the Priests met up with the dragons that sponsored them, generally it was those that they were supposed to lead their worship for, even if temporarily.
Alduin herself was to meet with Vahlok, as she was his current and first sponsor. Her old sponsor was Miraak, who then came under Geindokun after her new choice.
Vahlok had come to Labrynthia, the biggest settlement in the entire country under Morokei's supervision. Alduin had wanted to convene with him in the temple dedicated to her.
Vahlok rode slowly through the large streets of the thriving city as many people lived their far more peaceful lives than what Skyrim was before.
Jorralg was with him, only to escort him to the entrance of the temple. No mortal aside from a Priest or related was allowed in.
The two were silent through their journey, Vahlok was the one that held a small smile on his face, Jorralg's was more restrained, from how he saw it he was Vahlok's bodyguard and second.
The towering structure that was the Palace of Labrynthia stood a quarter of the height of the mountains around the capital. Undoubtedly Morokei resided in it most of his lifetime when not inside the very crypt that he had been required by his masters to build for him and his followers.
Vahlok had not been in it, the other Priests had and spoke very well of Morokei's treatment of the palace, most envied his rule of Labrynthia and what resources he had.
The youngest of the Dragon Priests didn't care much for it.
Vahlok and Jorralg reached the highest part of the city, the temple district where Alduin was located.
The civilian guards that stood let Vahlok in and halted Jorralg. The exchange between the two groups had been silent. No person aside from the Dragon Priests were allowed in. These guards themselves were volunteers, and their position was more out of servitude than it was for any security.
Ascending the steps he reached Alduin's temple, several wordwalls and four temple structures stood, one being taller than the rest and it's difference was that it was not strictly a perch for a dragon.
There was an entrance for a human sized creature.
The maskless priest approached the doors and pulled the handles on them.
A hall of lit candles revealed Alduin as a Nordic woman, resting upon a chair and with her eyes opening at his entrance.
"Greetings, Vahlok." She opened.
The man bowed deeply.
"My lord." He said.
"I did not ask for you to bow." She had said in an aloof manner. Vahlok lowered himself to sit in a butterfly position on the ground.
"But, the gesture is appreciated. I shall begin you with a question Vahlok…..I have heard that you refused to use a sacrificial man in the construction of your crypt. As you know, all others have used many when it comes to building theirs, tell me why." The goddess questioned.
Vahlok held a pregnant pause.
Ten workers were preparing to finalize one of the support columns in Vahlok's crypt.
It was a requirement for all crypts that a sacrificial man be used to bless the crypt from ruin, and to protect the souls of all those that would be buried. It was a tradition that had begun when a Priests crypt had collapsed, sealing hundreds of deceased followers in the earth below.
Vahlok who had been watching them all quietly saw one seemingly prepare himself to be sacrificed, he knew the others would end up going through the same.
"Wait!" Vahlok said, nearly frightening the man in front of him who also observed.
"Why, It's Lord Vahlok! Everyone halt!" The overseer of the construction yelled throughout the hall.
They all turned to face Vahlok. Solemn and curious young and old faces.
"Are these men to be the cyrpts sacrifices?" Vahlok asked the overseer. The man nodded.
"They are, my lord." He said.
Vahlok studied them more and thought to himself.
"No more sacrifices, these men are important to the Dov and as people of my domain…..We cannot allow a single needless death from any of them." He stated loudly.
The overseer had a worried expression.
"B-But my lord!" He said, worried if any others outside of Vahlok's rule would hear of this.
"Do not worry. I have found somethings to bury in the place of men." Said Vahlok.
The young dragon priest approached the men, he smiled at them.
"You, with the necklace." Vahlok asked a young looking man with a necklace of what was small figures on it.
"Y-Yes?" He asked, almost nervous.
"Who made it?" Vahlok asked.
"My sister, she passed away a year ago." The young worker said shakenly.
"I see, I must ask that the spirit of your sister in that necklace be used to bless this place, is that alright?" Vahlok asked kindly.
The man was speechless.
"Y-Yes! That would….th-thank you." He stammered, grateful.
"All of you, I want you to help bring in stone pillars to secure the supports! I do not want to see anyone overworked!" He said.
The men cheered after the event, the whole construction team did.
Soon after, on the main pillar of which the man's necklace was placed, Vahlok had a saying carved in.
'Total Fidelity'
"Eh? What does it…." A confused Jorralg asked.
"It is read as, Total Fidelity. If we are all faithful to one another in our drive and spirit there is nothing that we cannot overcome. It is that we all bring our faith in this world that we cannot do things such as sacrifice of the other. I do not think it is how we worship the gods and how we hold ourselves to them. It is the survival of our lives that which brings happiness to them." Vahlok spoke.
Jorralg felt himself move by his passion, he studied the words once more.
"I have served with multiple lords, all those who had their vices and their cries. This one may have his head far above those clouds of that dragons fly in, but I think I have found someone far better." Jorralg thought to himself.
It only took a week for word of this event to have reached Alduin.
"I have no place in it for my heart or in my duty, it is needless sacrifice when there are better replacements instead of a person who is ultimately too valuable for it. Those ten people worship you and the others, I pray I did what was right by you but I thought of what else that could be offered my lord." Vahlok said respectfully.
"Hmm, what of your carving?" She then asked.
"I choose it the way it is because of the devotion that we must place ourselves in to you and the others for what you have given us." Vahlok said slowly.
"Given you? I can see plainly what I have given to others and what they have truly wanted Vahlok, but I must say that I do not know what is you want. Your actions have been….the opposite of the rest. And it has been that ever since that night." She responded, shuffling slightly in her chair.
Vahlok stared at her.
"Peace. I would have followed anyone who could have brought it. The night I saw you was when I made my decision of who I would, and that I could follow." He stated.
Alduin sensed something deeper.
"Dov do not bring peace, only the illusion." She replied.
"I have not seen that as so, I have not served you for long my lord yet I believe that all things have grown better since. My duty is to provide those two to the land."
Alduin was silent for some moments.
Vahlok, held no nervousness to her pondering.
"Foolish." She said to him, her word came with a cold edge.
Vahlok had nothing to respond with.
"However I have no issue with what you have done, it seems there are some who have a grudge out against you Vahlok. You must realize it was one of the others who reported such a petty thing to me." She said.
"I should have known that they would have taken a dislike to it." Said Vahlok, troubled.
"I will act upon it." Said Alduin.
"It is a matter with myself, I can handle it. What's the name?" He asked.
"Miraak." She said.
Vahlok was surprised.
"I had thought it would be Rahgot, even then….that doesnt make sense to me." Said Vahlok.
The look in Alduin's eyes seemed to say that she knew that it would.
"We must temporarily adjourn, I hear Wuthdeinkinbok on the flight. I shall reconvene with you afterwards on other matters." She said, she bowed her head slightly.
Vahlok stood up and bowed.
"Thank you." He left with those words.
The dragon, Wuthdeinkinbok began to land. His fearsome appearance was welcomed.
"Greetings, Wuthdeinkinbok." Said Vahlok as he passed.
"Vahlok." Said Wuth, gathering his breath as Alduin walked out of the temple structure.
Vahlok headed down the steps to see Jorralg, and Miraak with him.
"I have said many times that you are a fool Vahlok." Miraak said firstly.
"Miraak came to speak at you, or to yell as it now is." Said Jorralg as he faced Vahlok, who had a distressed expression.
"Miraak what is it that I have done?" Vahlok asked.
"You speak to a witch." Said the masked Miraak cryptically.
"I worry as to what you are you saying Miraak." Vahlok stared forwards as he spoke.
"She only entertains your ideas of peace, she will not bring it Vahlok."
Vahlok turned himself.
"I do not believe a man who bothers the same people of his honor for something so petty Miraak." He said with spite.
"It should alarm you that I too can inform our lord of what you just said about her, but I will not Miraak." He then added. Miraak held a scoff.
"You will come to have regretted ever serving any of them." Retorted Miraak.
Then there were loud steps coming from the Temple, Wuthdeinkinbok flew away.
"Miraak!?" Alduin exlaimed, her eyes narrowed.
"Whatever the reason you are here, Vahlok you must gather your strength now. I have been betrayed." The goddess stated.
Vahlok gripped the hilt of his sword tightly.
"Who?" Vahlok asked first.
"The King of Solitude, he has rebelled against me." Said Alduin.
Rhald, out of anyone Vahlok had never believed that the man who always smiled so genuinely gently and showed more care for his family than any other could have, who inspired him.
Vahlok's heart fell through a pit.
"I will get my men ready, Jorralg we must leave." Said Vahlok as he walked up to his horse.
"I shall speak with you in further detail soon Vahlok, prepare for a siege!" Alduin exclaimed.
"Of course, my lord." He responded before kicking his horse and leaving with Jorralg.
"I do not care as to why you are here." Alduin nearly spat at Miraak.
"I need you to do the same." She demanded.
"Hmph, I shall assemble what I have." Miraak said non-noncommittally.
He left without saying any other words. Alduin stood, with her fists clenched as she looked up at the sky.
The guards stood, scared. They were but mere civilians given their task.
Meanwhile Vahlok and Jorralg rode fast as they could out of the city.
"Do you think Miraak did something to cause Vahlok?" Jorralg asked him.
"No…..Despite all coincidences I disbelieve the notion without any sort of proof, but my instinct is unsure of anything right now." The blonde haired priest replied.
"This is not anymore than two weeks after the raid, he must have heard about how one of them died, even if that was temporary." Jorralg said.
"That could be reason, but I do not think for him to ever be willing to do something like this out of selfishness and even then it is not something worth rebelling for." Said Vahlok.
"I hope this is not what it is, that it is a mistake on some end." The priest said sadly and he shook his head.
However, what had been heard and said was real. There was a rebellion that had been started by the King of Solitude, a beginning of a tragedy for the Dragon Dominion had begun to spur itself in it's cataclysmic ending.
End of the first part of Vahlok's story.
I hope you enjoyed it, I'll be doing this on the side and I know I am in know place to speak but I will do my best especially now to focus more on the story itself that being said: I do have something similar planned but I'll be on my best to not be too strained.
Take care.
