Chapter 5: Home
A/N: Sorry, sorry, sorry! I know it has been a while. My Bestie/Muse/Beta/K-translator/Poster-maker (yeah, she does a lot for me in this) has been going through a number of life trials. So we haven't really had time to collaborate on the story. I'm bringing you this chapter pre-Beta; all mistakes are my own. We'll be sure to circle back for edits and translations. But I hope you can enjoy this for the time being.
This chapter takes place several months after the trip to L.A. Here we go...
"It's perfect weather today," said Bestie-1, looking out the window.
"Yeah, spring is finally kicking in. At least this winter wasn't as bad as the last one," replied Bestie-2. "Can I just reiterate how dope it is that little Kookie told you they were coming down here. Ya'll seem to be getting cozy," she added with a smile.
"We just chat every now and then. It's no big deal, really."
"Sweetie, judging by how red you are in the face right now, I'd say that's B.S.," teased Bestie-2. "You seem very happy...I like it. But you're also school girl giddy, and it's a little sickening."
"Shut up!"
Eventually, the two made it to their destination. "So this is where they're staying?" Bestie-2 asked.
"Yeah, looks like it."
"Well text your boy; let 'em know we're here."
"Hi!"
"Hey! The whole squad's here," said Bestie-2. "So what brings you guys out this way?"
"We're doing some filming." Even though he answered her question, JK never actually took his eyes off Bestie-1.
"If ya'll are filming, are you sure it's okay for us to be up here?" asked Bestie-1.
"Oh, yeah it's okay," chimed Tae as he walked over to greet the girls with a hug.
Looking over at Bestie-2, Jungkook asked, "You live around here, right?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Do you cook?"
"Um, yeah..."
"Let's go to your house. You make sweet potato pie?"
"Well, no. I don't really like pie. But I bake plenty of other stuff. You want us to bring you something?"
"No, let's go to your house."
"Wait. When you say let's go to my house, do you mean just ya'll, or ya'll and the camera crew? I'm not really cool with that."
"No, no just us."
"Okay."
"We should grill," added Tae. Junkook nodded his head in total agreement.
"I don't know if we have time for that today. By time we get groceries, and prep the meat, it'll be pretty late. But we can get the stuff today and grill tomorrow if you guys are still free."
"Okay," answered Jungkook. "Do you have drinks?" On the other side of the room, Jimin was nodding his head yes; you could almost hear him thinking: say yes, say yes, say yes.
"Well, yeah. But not enough for ya'll to do it up."
"Okay, we'll get drinks too. Let's go!" said Jungkook.
Everyone seemed on board, well all except Suga who needed a little convincing. But eventually he acquiesced.
So, the group headed out to two SUVs; Bestie-2 offered to drive one to lead the way.
"Whoever is most comfortable driving, should drive the second car. I have a tinsie bit of a lead foot, but I'll try not to go too fast," explained Bestie-2.
In the first SUV, Bestie-2 drove with J-Hope shotgun, and Jimin, Suga, and Bestie-2 in the back. Jungkook drove the second with Jin, Tae, and RM.
"Are you gonna play my favorite song?" Bestie-1 asked quietly from the back.
Laughing, Bestie-2 replied, "On it!"
At the first strum, J-Hope immediately recognized the Masked Wolf single. "This is your favorite song?" he asked.
"Yes. She was super excited when you first said you liked it too," Bestie-2 answered on behalf of her friend who was too in the zone to pay attention to the conversation.
"We're here! It's the middle of the day, so it shouldn't be too busy. But you can always wear a mask, most people still do," said Bestie-2.
Jungkook and Bestie-2 gave everyone a list of things to buy as they went over the menu.
"What are you making for dessert?" JK asked.
"Just a little something small. Don't worry, you'll like it. It'll be super sweet," said Bestie-2.
"Oh! Are you gonna make macarons?" asked Bestie-1.
"No. But if I was, you would've ruined the surprise. Now no more guessing."
"You said small and sweet. Plus you love macarons."
"Yeah, but those are a little too dainty. He might eat them all himself. And they taste better after resting a day or two. But again, don't worry, you'll like it too," said Bestie-2. "Now let's get the rest of the food."
Several hundred dollars worth of food later, the group made it to Bestie-2's home.
"We'll go in through the garage; it'll be easier to put the food away," said Bestie-2.
"You...have a lot of flowers in your yard," commented Jimin.
"I know right! I need to re-plant a few of them though cause they're old," replied Bestie-2. "Now this probably goes without saying, but take your shoes off at the mat please, thank you. I'm a lil' booshie."
"You keep your fridge in the garage?" asked Tae.
"No, there's one inside the house."
"So you have three?"
"The tall one in the corner is all freezer."
"But why do you have so many?"
With a raised eyebrow and one hand on the hip, Bestie-2 simply said, "You should be happy I have enough space for all this food ya'll bought. You wanna eat don't you?"
"Yes, yes," Tae said while taking a couple bags inside.
"Okay then."
After putting down his bags, Tae decided to wander around a bit to appease his curiosity.
"Jimin!" he called, running back toward the garage. "She has table tennis inside."
"What!" "Ohh!" said Jimin and JK.
"We should just stay here," Tae suggested.
JK agreed with an okay and a nod.
"How do you get to decide," argued Bestie-1, "It's my house. Plus, you haven't even seen it yet."
"Okay. We're done now. Let's see it."
So Bestie-2 led everyone on a tour of the house, paying special focus on the bedrooms.
"So this room has two beds, the second one pulls out from underneath. This bed can hold two people, and, in my room, I can sleep three people. Plus I have an air mattress that I can put in that extra room; two people can sleep on that. So that's nine; I guess there's enough.
"We can move Bestie-1's stuff in my room, plus one other person. Then ya'll can divide up the rest," explained Bestie-2.
JK quickly replied, "I'll stay in her room; she doesn't have to move."
"...Okay...You good with that?" asked Bestie-2, looking at her friend.
"Yeah, I mean it's cool," answered Bestie-1. 'Not really. But it's gonna be cool. I'm a be real cool about this. Just keep my face relaxed.' And with a shrug and a nod, she managed to hide her inner excitement and nerves from the others. Well everyone except Bestie-2.
"Alright," said Bestie-2, eyeing her friend. "Then who's gonna..."
"I'll stay!" Jimin exclaimed.
"Yeah, I figured. Hobi you too?"
"Yeah, okay."
"Question!"
"Yes, Jin."
"Do you have any games?"
"...Ahhh, no. I'm not much of a gamer. So everything I have is very old. Like PS2 old."
"Whaa! Okay. Well I have some; I'll bring. Wait are we going back to get our stuff?" he asked the group.
"Yeah, yeah," said JK.
"Okay. I'll bring. But next time, you should have some games."
"Look, if you want games, you can bring them yourself. You can even leave some here. But I'm not buying games to never play. Unless it's DDR. I go hard for DDR."
"Yes!"
"Yeah!"
"Yeah!"
After picking up some things from the hotel, the group returned to Bestie-2's house and enjoyed the cool afternoon weather in the backyard.
"Do we have to go outside? You always have such big bugs at your house," complained Bestie-1.
"Bugs?" asked J-Hope.
"Yeah, she always has them. The wasps here are huge."
"Stop scaring him. We're all out here, it'll be fine. Relax," said Bestie-2.
Before Bestie-2 could continue setting up the game, she could feel herself being grabbed and shaken.
"It's a bee! It's a bee; it's gonna sting me!" Bestie-1 screamed while using her friend as a human shield.
"I don't see...Oh, there." Bestie-2 swatted the bee with her free hand and stepped on it. "See, it's dead now, let me go."
"Hobi! What are you running for?" called JK from patio where he, Suga, Jimin and RM were playing poker. "She killed it already."
"What?!"
"She already killed it man. See, she kills her own bugs; she's perfect for you."
Jimin looked up slowly from his hand to stare at Jungkook. 'Why the fuck would you say that?'
Kookie simply laughed harder.
"Ay, focus. It's your turn," said Suga, bringing them back to the game.
Meanwhile, Bestie-2 tried to extract herself from an awkward group hug-Bestie-1 hugging from the left, and J-Hope hugging from the right.
"Awww! You killed it; you do love me!" said Bestie-1 with a squeeze.
"Okay, okay. Ya'll don't need to get all mushy about it," said Bestie-2 as she rolled her eyes. "Now help me finish setting this up so we can play tether ball."
A/N: Okay there you have it. Again, sorry for the wait. I have got a surprise planned to help raise Bestie's spirits with everything she's dealing with. It won't really help, but I know it'll definitely raise her spirits. It might be a while before she has time to commit to the story like before, but I will do my best to hold down the fort! Until next time 3 3
