Ch. 17 After Effect
The fox hollered in laughter while Sheila went in and out of consciousness.
'I-I can't believe this is how I die.'
"Oh, so now you don't have anything wise to say huh?" he remarked.
As he chucked a piece of her arm behind himself, "Well at least I can make good money on you and your pieces."
"You…will…pay," she whispered.
"I doubt it… I have taken precautions. If you believe someone will come and rescue for a last-minute save; I'm afraid that won't happen any time soon," he explained.
"But…maybe I can let you out and heal up if you help me," he said as he leaned on his deactivated weapon.
"W-Why…would…I…help…you," she forced a growl.
"Well…because you're not in control currently and I hold your fate," he said as he swung his weapon in front of her.
"Now… Do you know about any information about an experiment?"
"What?"
"Experiment 629… Leroy. Have you seen him?"
"What…does…he…have…to…do…with…this?" she asked.
"Word has it there was a Federation ship here in our galaxy… Word also had it that people have spotted this experiment on this planet along with another," he aimed his weapon at her chest, "if you give the location of these two experiments; I'll let you go and then we can reap the award."
"...Award?"
"Apparently, there is an award out for two highly dangerous criminals… Now, what are the chances that they appear around the same time a high value person is missing?"
He leered down and spoke, "Now tell me where to find them."
She groaned and her head lobbed down.
"Don't play games with me!" he hollered as Sheila remained still.
"Hey, I'm talking to you!" he shouted as he prodded her head with the deactivated weapon.
He noticed Sheila had a big smile on her, a laughed that grew and grew before it echoed throughout the room.
"What is so damn funny?" he asked.
"Oh…the fact…of how…misinformed you are," she said as she looked at him. "For I'm…afraid to say…buy that the creature… you are asking… isn't part of the criminals."
She panted as blood cascaded out of her mouth, "But… I'll make sure…The Red Cone will…have no problem…finding you."
His eyes widened as he backed away, "Red Cone?"
She nodded, "Oh…Yes. …My nickname… for my…my partner. He will give…you hell."
He activated his weapon and raised it over his head, "I don't think so! Now tell me what I need to know."
"You…might as well… Kill me… I-I'm not…saying…anything else."
He growled as he went to drive the weapon into Sheila's chest; however, a red furred hand caught it. The Fox stumbled back in surprise, "W-What? How did you get here so fast?"
He added, "I planted fresh blood around the village… I marked areas in blood, dead ends with dummies… There is no way you could've figured it out that fast."
Evile approached the alien, "You forget… You are basically against a walking, talking supercomputer who can think faster than you. A machine with powers and abilities far beyond your understanding. Did you honestly thought I wouldn't have figured it out sooner?"
The fox scanned the smaller creature as the fox eyed his energy machete.
"Don't do it," Evile warned.
The fox raised his weapon and Evile extended his claws; Evile diced the weapon as it fell to pieces on the floor.
The fox looked at his damaged weapon and Evile as he dropped the handle, "Now, listen this is just some misunderstanding."
"Oh…So cutting my partner's paw off is "a misunderstanding"…" Evile remarked while Leroy finally managed to show up.
"Youga… Youga need to…to slow down Evile…" Leroy panted as he bent over.
He straightened himself, "Sheila!"
He ran over to her and unstrapped her from the table.
"Isa okie-taka Sheila… We isa here," Leroy commented as he carried her close to his chest bridal style.
"You are a monster," Evile growled, "I should-"
"Evile, we go now. Sheila naga well."
"P-Please spare me…" The fox cried as he bowed.
Evile furrowed his brows in thought.
"Evile!"
"Okay Leroy. We're going," he said as he had his back to the fox.
"You better go before I make you disappear," Evile warned.
"Oh, believe me I will," he said as his paw hovered on the floor "I've learned."
Evile and Leroy began to leave until Evile's ear twitched, and he looked over his shoulder as his eyes widened. The fox aimed a blue tinted handgun towards Leroy's back. The gun fired a teal color energy ball at Leroy. The sound of the shot rung through Evile's ears. "NO!"
He jumped and took the hyper plasma bolt to the chest and grabbed it as he groaned.
"Evile!" Leroy screamed.
"Shit!" The fox said as he tried to get his feet.
Evile slowly got back to his feet and eyed the fox with a fury so hot; it could put the sun to shame. Eviled inhaled and Leroy noticed a slight chill in the air, Evile exhaled as a breath of ice covered the fox.
"No!No!No!No!No!No!No!No!N-" the fox pleaded was silence as his body froze from Evile's attack.
Evile approached the frozen statue and whispered, "I warned you… I would make you disappear. I always keep my promises."
Evile lifted his foot and kicked the frozen creature, shattered the creature in pieces as he gathered electricity in one of his paws.
"Leroy, take Sheila out of here now," Evile ordered.
"But-" Leroy said but was interrupted, "Just go!"
Leroy recoiled from the shout and nodded as he left the building.
Evile sighed as he looked in his other paw and electricity sparked out; snaked their way around his body as he raised his paws. He pounded them on the ground, he fired concentrated beams of electricity, the sparks ignited with the electronics; a fire swept throughout the floor as it swallowed the pieces of ice flesh. Evile turned his back and walked as the fire grew and grew around him.
Outside...
"Evile!" Leroy cried as he looked in awe and fear as the building slowly consumed by flames. "Evile where isa youga!"
Leroy looked down at the unconscious Shelia in his arms and then back to the destruction before him.
"Leroy," Leroy's followed the owner's voice and his eyes landed on Evile, "Leroy, come we have to go now. It's the only shot we have left."
Leroy numbly nodded as they ran through the night while the mess, they left grew brighter and brighter, like a beacon.
