Chapter 49 – Pinked Out
Saturday, February 23, 2013, early in the morning
1492 Valencia Drive
Reefside, CA
As everyone gathered in the lab for an emergency "cod red" meeting, as deemed by Jayden and his parents, they were taken aback by the expressions on the faces of Jayden and his parents.
What they were about to say next would confirm the concern that was on everyone's mind.
"Thank you all for coming, guys," Kimberly said. "Unfortunately, we're all here because I have some bad news. Flammia is on her way and she's bringing the kitchen sink."
"I assume you know this because you can feel when she's getting closer to Earth?" Cam asked.
"Correct," Kim said. "At one point, I was her and she was me. I can feel when she is about to invade or draw near. She's coming as we speak."
"Which means, also," Jayden said, "we need to find out, now, where the Ranger Keys are. In a matter of hours, or days, we may not have my mother anymore. Time is of the essence right now."
Two streaks of light suddenly lit up the room, one green and one blue. They were not surprised that one of the lights revealed Ninjor. They were however surprised when the second light revealed Dulcea.
"Hello, Rangers," Ninjor said. "Jayden is correct. We must waste no more time."
"Dulcea, aren't you still bound to your planet?" Adam asked.
"For the moment, no. As long as the Falcon, Crane and Phoenix powers are active, no I am not bound to Phaedos. I have chosen to stay there but as long as those three powers are active I can leave. I just choose not to except for big moments," Dulcea said. "This is such a moment."
The three leaders of this mission nodded and prepared themselves. Mia prepared to line up with them too – Jayden had petitioned for Mia to be included in this ceremony and those involved had readily agreed.
"You four line up in the middle," Ninjor said. "Dulcea and I will flank you. Together, our powers should reveal the locations of these Ranger Keys."
"Let us begin," Dulcea said.
"Older than time itself," Ninjor and Kimberly began to intone, "man has always known the calling. Light of the light, strength of the soul, ignite this eternal power inside me!"
Tommy, Mia, Dulcea and Jayden then picked up the ball. The ground began to rumble.
"I am Ninja! I am pure of heart, mind, body, heart and soul! Join with me now as I become one with the power of Ninja!"
"I am the Phoenix, flaming and majestic!"
"I am the Dove, peaceful and gentle!"
"I am the Falcon, just and able!"
"I am the Crane, agile and graceful! We wish to know where the Ranger Keys are located!"
For a few more moments, the ground rumbled. Then, a wide smile creased Hayley's face.
"You guys did it, as usual. My blinker is going crazy. These must be the locations."
At that very moment, the person who been working with the Rangers on this very project, Orion from Andresia, teleported in.
"I believe you have unlocked the locations to the others," Orion said, "because the Sixth Ranger Keys, which are mine, were glowing just now."
The Rangers looked at him and nodded. He was in fact correct.
"Read us the locations, Hayley," Tommy said.
"Let's see…Angel Grove, San Jose, California, Washington, DC, Boston, Paris, Tokyo, Monte Carlo, Brazil. But wait, that's only eight. Surely, there must be more…"
"Your scanner must not scan for those on Earth," Billy said, as he went to work trying to help Hayley. "That's gotta be what it is. Also I believe there are TWO sets of keys in Monaco."
"Wait. Did you say two?" Ronny, from Overdrive, said. "Our keys must be there, but you said TWO sets?"
"It's a team from another dimension. They are called RPM," Ninjor said sadly. "In their world, which is an alternate universe, it was wiped out by a virus that was released on accident. All Ranger teams were either captured or killed. Nonetheless, the RPM keys are yet another element to the Ranger Key arsenal."
"And what's up with San Jose?" Rocky said. "Why Silicon Valley country?"
"That's because that's for a futuristic team based entirely on technology," Ninjor said. "Space Patrol Delta. San Jose is near where Newtech City, where Earth's S.P.D will be based out of, is."
"Well that makes sense at least," Justin said. "God if we have to go through the big tech companies to get those keys though…"
"Aha. Got it," Billy said. "There are definitely sets of keys on Aquitar, Mirinoi and KO-35."
"Definitely with the powers of the Aquitians and the Space Rangers," Tommy surmised.
"Oh no," Billy said, gasping. "For some reason, some of the Keys for the Galaxy and Space team are scattered on…Onyx."
"Oh you gotta be shitting me," Karone said, groaning. "That means we are definitely gonna have to wait till after we win."
"Yeah if we win, they won't want to mess with us," Jayden said. "OK, everyone. Here is what we do. Everyone takes a breather. No Ranger anything for the next week."
"Seven days?" Tommy asked his son, knowing his word was law.
"Seven days, or until they attack," Jayden said. "Go see your families, do whatever. Try not to even think about anything Ranger related. Do fun things you like."
"I actually like the idea. You have grown up a lot, young Phoenix," Dulcea said. "You all would be wise to listen to your leader. I know a lot will be on your mind this next week. Please do not hesitate to come visit me if you need help."
"It's a deal. Seven days, no Ranger anything," Kim said.
"Because when we go to war, you'll want to remember it could be your last time. There could be people that die in this," Jayden said. "There's no shame in losing. But I expect everyone to be ready, and give your very best. Is that understood?"
And everyone nodded.
"There's one last thing. Ninjas, stay here. Before we leave, we're going to contact the leaders of these nations so they can be prepared for what is to come. Mom, Dad and I will go to Angel Grove ourselves on Monday to meet with the mayor and ask him to declare a state of emergency based on what's coming," Jayden said.
"Everyone else, dismissed," Jayden finished.

Phaedos
She thought she was asleep, until suddenly she was not.
The second Kim opened her eyes, she knew exactly where she was.
It was confirmed when she was confronted by two of the people who made her what she had been…once upon a time.
"Hi, Kimberly," Dulcea greeted.
"I'd be angry that someone woke me up from my sleep, but considering it's you guys, I'm fine with it," Kim said. "But Jayden explicitly said no Ranger stuff for seven days."
"Technically true, but that's part of the reason we brought you here," Ninjor said. "Remember well what I am about to tell you, my Crane because it will serve you well."
"You learned not long ago that as much as you wish to deny it, evil will forever be a small part of you. That takes guts, but it is absolutely true, my Crane," Dulcea said. "It is because you came to terms with this that you can do what you feel is correct, and be more the independent individual you always hoped you would be."
"But you also learned another lesson in the last few months. I think it has helped make you a more effective teammate. Can you tell me what that is?" Ninjor said.
Kim racked her brain for several minutes, trying to think of the answer. There was only one thing she could think of.
"I-I learned to trust my teammates again," Kim said. "But honestly I don't know how that even makes sense at all."
"It may not make sense at first but what you have said is correct," Dulcea said. "You may have thought you could trust your teammates right off the bat, but it's much harder than you think."
"The Ninjetti Powers are about trust. In a large way, they are about trust," Dulcea said. "What happened to you was a fixed event, but regardless, it fractured the bond and trust you had with your teammates."
"The key for repairing that trust was, as you might guess, Murianthias," Ninjor said. "The fact that you trusted the kids of former Rangers to rescue your son was admirable and was very key in restoring trust with your former teammates."
"I think it made you a much more effective fighter in the last two fights the Rangers had," Dulcea said. "It wasn't your fault, nor was it Jayden's, that Tommy was turned to a diamond by Gasket's monster."
"What other choice is there?" Kim said. "I'm not perfect, but even in my darkest hours I fought for everything to keep my son alive so he could realize his destiny. If I have to die but my son lives and can continue to save the world, I would be at peace with that."
Dulcea and Ninjor, even for as long as they had known Kimberly, were amazed. The influence Zordon had on his charges ran very, very deep.
Kimberly believed she was fighting for something truly greater than herself.
"Because you are so selfless, that you are willing to forfeit your life for your son and Tommy…it is for that reason that you may be able to save it, Kimberly," Dulcea said. "Hold onto those thoughts tight. You will need them."
"Are you going to talk to Jayden?" Kim asked.
"Maybe, but he has gone through enough to know what matters most in this upcoming fight," Dulcea said. "Mia and the kids though, on second thought…"

Phaedos
One moment Jayden was finishing up part of his final preparations for his last GED exam in Angel Grove…which included a meeting with Ms. Appleby herself.
The next moment, he was on Phaedos. And he wasn't alone.
Mia was there too. That was good. What he couldn't figure out was why the six "Junior Ninjetti" as many of the Rangers called them, were there too.
"Cousin?" Derek Scott asked.
"Yeah, I'm here. I'm not sure why though. Mom told me she had a meeting with Dulcea and Ninjor recently but I'm not sure why," Jayden said. "We explicitly said no Ranger stuff for seven days and we did it for a reason."
"I must say I'm as confused as Jayden is," Mia said. "I'm not complaining about being with my boyfriend though.
They began kissing in front of the younger Ninjetti, to which the young kids buried their faces in their hands.
"Please, guys, make that crap private!" Matthew Park said.
"Oh geez, sorry, guys," the both of them said sheepishly.
"The question remains though…why are we all here right now," Mia said.
"To make you aware of what could happen and to remind you what your expectations really should be," another voice, clearly male, said.
The two people this group had come to know the best came forward.
"It's my understanding that all of you said no Ranger stuff for seven days or until the final battle takes place," Ninjor said. "However, it is my duty to remind you of what's truly important."
"What's important is that we all survive so we can live, right?" Olivia asked.
"I'll take this one, guys," Jayden said, looking at Dulcea and Ninjor. "No, Olivia, our goal is to win and save the Earth. NOTHING else is as important as that. That's why we became Rangers in the first place."
"But Auntie Kim…" Marcus said.
"Yeah I'm not gonna lie. Mom might die, and that'd be brutal," Jayden said. "But NOTHKING else is as important as saving the Earth. Without it, our lives are forfeit as well."
"We haven't lost before, and we're not going to lose to these jerks either," Mia said. "That's ALL you should be thinking about. Winning."
"As for Kim…I'm not optimistic, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it," Jayden said.
"They think there's strength in numbers. Well, we have numbers too and we have proven we can beat them. The next battle, it's going to end….and we're not going to be the ones that lose," Jayden finished.

The Chamber of Command
Angel Grove, CA
The word had gone out right as the sun rose that day. Everyone had reported to the Chamber of Command…while the lair in Reefside was good to an extent, it was better if the Rangers were at the bigger base for attacks such as this one.
The attack had begun, not just in Southern California, but all around the world. The Rangers were ready though.
From the lab in Reefside, they had spied Flammia's warships entering the Earth's atmosphere after the sun had gone down. That meant today was showtime.
And based on the word they'd gotten, the citizens of the world were ready too. In the nations the Rangers had contacted, well before the attacks began, warnings had been playing on televisions in these nations the whole week.
The seven day respite was now over. And judging by the looks of the Rangers, they were itching for a fight.
They would have to divide and conquer though. The attacks were in various places all over the world, not just in Ranger cities. As the Rangers had expected, Flammia was attacking where the Rangers had discovered the locations of the Ranger Keys.
"All right, the assignments," Jayden said. "Ninjetti Team II and the JV Ninjetti, you have Paris. Then, report back here for our fight when your business is done."
Kim thought wistfully, 'if only I could be in that fight.'
"Justin and Overdrive, you have Monte Carlo," Jayden said next.
"And it seems like someone in Flammia's army brought back at least the Chillers and Lava Lizards, if Rhiannon is correct," Andrew Hartford said.
"Then we will definitely need some added muscle," Will said, nodding at Justin.
"Aquitians, Space, and Lost Galaxy, you guys have Aquitar, KO-35 and Mirinoi," Jayden continued.
"And while those morons are watching the battle, I'll go see about any possible keys on Onyx," Karone said.
"Lightspeed and Time Force…you have Washington, DC," Jayden said. That made sense to both teams, since DC was the home of the federal government and Lightspeed was a government operation.
"Wes, Jen, Eric, before you guys go, I brought you guys a surprise," Rhiannon said.
The three turned and gasped at what they saw.
Their three teammates from the future. Katie, Trip and Lucas.
The three of them wasted no time in embracing their former teammates.
"Rhiannon over here contacted us in the future and told us we have some ass to kick and some Keys to protect," Katie said. "That's why we are here."
"Jungle Fury and Wild Force, you guys have Rio de Janeiro," Jayden said. "The Brazilian government told Rhiannon apparently that the attack is in Tijuca National Park, just outside the center of the city."
"Of course. That's probably where both sets of those keys are," Lily said, Taylor nodding in affirmation.
"Guys," Jayden said next to his Samurai family, "You guys are teaming up with Ninja Storm and you guys have Tokyo."
"Perfect," Lauren said. "They will never destroy Tokyo and will never get to the Tengen Gate or anywhere else."
The Ninja Storm team was no less determined to make that a reality.
"Dino Thunder minus Justin and Mystic Force, you guys have Boston," Jayden said finally. "Justin, when you finish in Monte Carlo, go to Boston so the Dino Thunder team is in full."
Hayley nodded. It was appropriate, being that she and Tommy went to MIT, that the Dino Thunder keys would be in Boston.
"That leaves San Jose though," Rocky said. "SPD."
"We are in luck," Ninjor said. "Anubis Cruger who will head SPD in the future is from another planet and saw the signal for the SPD Keys when we did. He has come here to protect them, but in case he needs backup, I will send Trey and the Phantom Ranger to help him."
"Original six Ninjetti, we're staying right here," Jayden said. "We are going to finish this once and for all. Mia, you're with us not Team II."
"May the Power protect us, and remember, the goal is to save the Earth," Jayden said, "by any means necessary."
"I have never been prouder of a team of fighters than I am this one," Rhiannon said, tears in her eyes. "The fight is uphill but it can be won."
"Let's get moving then," Jayden said as the teams began their morphing sequences.
Angel Grove, CA
No one ever thought it possible, but the situation in downtown Angel Grove was even worse than the day Astronema invaded in 1998.
The local authorities and Angel Grove had been through this rigamarole hundreds of times before, but it didn't make things any easier.
Endless packs of Tengas, Flamers and other footsoldiers, commanded by Flammia herself, ran the streets.
That was, however, until a massive crimson fireball passed through about 100 soldiers, incinerating them instantly. In the next moment, a pink blur smashed into Flammia and Vipera, knocking them down instantly.
The wall of soldiers suddenly stopped as eight Ninjetti Rangers blocked their path.
"Impressive, Rangers," Flammia said, scowling under her breath. She hated to admit it, but that last attack left her terribly unnerved. The Rangers were done playing. "It will take more than that to defeat me, however."
"There's more where that came from, lady," Kim said. What she was about to say next was going to shock the conscience of everyone watching. The Rangers knew she would do it, but the rest of the world was about to know too.
"I, Kimberly Ann Hart, first Pink Ranger of Earth, challenge you, Flammia, to a duel for my very soul. Either my soul dies or you die today. There is no room for the both of us."
"Me and you, with the fate of both of us on the line. Very well, Pink Crane," Flammia said as she drew her bow weapon. "I accept."
"Take the foot soldiers and other monsters," she told her friends, lover, and son. "This witch is mine."
"You got it," Jayden said. "Good luck."
"I sense desperation in you, Pinkie," Flammia sneered. "You and your falcon have struggled to reclaim your magic, so now you face me on your own. Bold move, little girl."
In the past that would have pushed Kim over the edge. But not now.
"You're right, but I've made it this far. I got to be back with him and my son for a while, which is all that matters. I have nothing to lose. It's you who has everything to lose," Kim shot back calmly. "If I win your entire empire dies. Now fight me."
"Very well," Flammia said as the two rushed forward and began engaging each other.
The Rangers continued to fight off to the side, but spectators who could watch from afar watched Kimberly and Flammia duke it out like two trained professionals. There was not an iota of difference between them.
The one thing, though, that went unnoticed was that Kim exuded confidence in her abilities. Flammia, as great as she was, could not intimidate her and she was a bit unnerved.
Landsdowne Street, near Fenway Park
Boston, MA
The crowded, narrow streets of downtown Boston were usually bustling with people. But not today.
Flammia's goons were everywhere, and they'd brought a little surprise with them too.
"These idiots again?" Conner snorted as he and Kira chased four Tyrannodrones down the street.
"Hidiacs and Styxoids?" Vida said. "Where the hell did Flammia get those guys?"
"Black market," Rita said as she blocked four Hidiacs. "It's quite easy to acquire technology for foot soldiers on the black market. Especially if you are one of Maligore's demons."
"Either way we have to make sure to kick their asses and make sure no one of importance gets hurt," Nick said.
"Right," Ethan added. "And make sure those keys stay safe."
Paris, France
"Goodness," Olivia said after the teams landed, looking at the seemingly endless platoon of footosldiers that stood before them. Others were terrorizing citizens near the Cathedral of Notre Dame . They heard screams near the Louvre too.
"I know I've been told about Putties and I kinda know the Flamers but who are these clowns?" Matthew added.
"Piranhatrons and Cogs," Kat told her. "Divatox and the Machine Empire's foot goons. I thought fighting the Flamers was bad enough, but I never thought we'd see these clowns again."
"How is that even possible, anyways?" Tanya asked.
"Gotta be the black market Kim always talked about," Jason said. "We need to get rid of these clowns and get back to Angel Grove in case Kim needs help."
Monte Carlo, Monaco
Andrew Hartford wasn't kidding when he said the Chillers and Lava Lizards were back.
Together with the Flamers, they were already doing a hell of a lot of damage.
To the surprise of the Overdrives though, that was not all.
"Miratrix and Kamdor. Ugh," Will said, remembering how awful in particular Miratrix could be.
"Thank you for coming with us, Justin," Ronny said. "We do in fact need the extra muscle."
"No problem. Now let's take these clowns," Justin said.
KO-35
This was one time Andros and his team wished they were not back on KO-35. Their worst fears had come to life.
Flammia's army was back and looking for a second conquest – and they weren't alone.
Flamers were obviously present, but Quantrons and some Stingwingers even littered the streets.
Andros then groaned when he saw who was leading them.
Jorus, and…
"Darkonda," Andros scowled. "How the hell are you back too?"
"When you have the technology and resources of the Flame of Destruction, it is very easy to recreate past enemies," Darkonda said. "Where is your sister?"
"Like we'd ever tell you where!" Andros said.
"We will win, Red Ranger, and then I will find her. Dark Specter shall reign anew when we are finished."
"This is not good," Ashley said. "Contact Mirinoi."
"Right," Andros said, hitting his communicator.
"Leo, you there?"
"I'm here, Andros," Leo said. "How bad is it?"
"Very bad," Andros said. "Darkonda's back. How about you guys?"
"Not Trakeena or Scorpius, yet, thank goodness, but Captain Mutiny and Deviot with Stingwingers and Flamers. We're in it now, man."
"I hear you. Have you heard from the Aquitians?"
"Yes. They have their hands full too. Rumor is Squalus was recreated. Piranhatrons, Landers and Flamers."
"We have got our hands full," Andros said. "May the Power protect us all."
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
They had no sooner landed on the ground when the attacks began. And as they quickly found out, it was more than they were expecting. A powerful general by the name of Trask was leading a massive army of footsoldiers. But he wasn't alone.
A massive army of Orgs from Wild Force's past, along with platoons of Rinshi, littered the streets of the Tijuca Forest. And Trask was being joined by a reborn Jindrax and Toxica.
"Ready to be destroyed, Rangers?" Toxica said.
"Not on our watch. We will never let you destroy this forest," Cole said. "Bring it on."
The National Mall
Washington, DC
"Gracious!" Jen exclaimed as the two teams of Rangers landed on the Mall, and saw hordes and hordes of foot soldiers heading right for them.
The platoon of Flamers, Batlings and Cyclobots seemed endless. And leading them were Bansheera and Frax.
"It's a good thing the nerds found a work around to get you guys back here," Wes said to the three who had come back in time to help clean up this mess. We're gonna need the muscle."
"Yes, and before they attack the White House, we better kick their asses," Katie shot back. "If we don't stop them now they'll for sure attack the President."
"And we don't need that," Carter said. "And we have a lot of ass to kick, so let's get to it!"
Tokyo, Japan
With the return of Flammia's army, that had definitely been powerful enough to open a crack in the Sanzu River near Tokyo.
The scene was a mess. Tokyo was a fine city that was in the process of being shredded to pieces. Moogers, Kelzaks and Flamers were everywhere. And leading the army were the cunning Serrator, Zurgane, and Motodrone.
"Man," Kevin said, "if we don't take care of this now, the safety of the Tengen Gate will be the least of our worries."
"You are not kidding," Lauren said. "If we lose, not only will darkness take over but it could be powerful enough to resurrect Master Xandred."
"Lothor too," Shane added. "It's bad enough with Zurgane and Motodrone. I wish it were Vexacus so I could kick his ass one last time."
"Regardless, we have work to do," Rito reminded them all. "So let's do it."
Angel Grove, CA
As the fight between Kimberly and her evil conqueror stunt double raged on for the next half hour, the difference was growing more and more obvious.
Flammia had tried everything to intimidate Kim, physically and emotionally, but it wasn't working. Kim was wearing her evil doppelganger out with her experience and determination. With one last kick to the face, Flammia was sent spiraling to the ground.
Flammia scowled as she picked herself up. The only way she was going to beat the Crane was with raw power. Kim had given her no other choice.
To make matters worse, Kimberly taking the advantage in the fight had given the Rangers extra strength in other locations, much as Jayden had at the beginning of the invasion and as Flammia looked around she slowly realized this.
Already, Dino Thunder, Ninja Storm, Samurai, Mystic Force, Overdrive and Justin had made it back and she was sure others were on the way.
She had to take it back by force.
"You've done it now, Pinkie," Flammia growled. "Maligore Fire Bow!"
Kim grinned under her helmet. This was an act of desperation by her opponent. The fact that she had forced Flammia to use her top weapon was already a win. She wanted the big prize, but she sensed the desperation in Flammia as she readied herself for what was to come.
Flammia mounted three fire charged arrows, pointed them directly at Kim and fired it.
Faster than the eye could see, Kim called, "Power Bow!" and mounted her own arrow. She then fired it, and her pink, crimson and white charged arrow collided with Flammia's. The arrows fought for control.
Kim concentrated, trying to will the struggle of power in her favor. But she was not alone. Most of the Ninjetti including Jayden had sent the foot soldiers and monsters packing. Jayden was fighting Vipera, but was able to lend his concentration towards his mother.
To make matters worse for Flammia, the second Ninjetti team and the JV team had teleported in too and saw the situation. They too were lending their support towards the Pink Ranger.
That surge of power flowing through Kim was more than enough to overpower Flammia's evil arrows; her arrow knocked Flammia's down and continued on towards the evil conqueror, slamming into her and sending her violently crashing to the ground in a shower of sparks.
Kim was on her instantly, ramming her face into the wall of a nearby bank.
"Remind me not to get on her bad side…ever," Tori said.
"Yeah. You don't want to do that. Watch out!" Rocky said as he saw an attack from behind as Madame Woe tried to ambush them but they dodged the attack and took her on.
Ten minutes later, Kim knew she had Flammia beat. She had whipped Flammia all through town. Flammia knew she was beat too. Even worse was every single Ranger had returned unscathed; the attacks on the various locales had been foiled. Any attack on San Jose had been foiled too as Trey and Phantom had joined the fight.
If Kim fell somehow, there were all the other Rangers to deal with. But Kim had her beat and Flammia knew it.
"I beat her ass good," Kim said to her Ninjetti teammates and son. "Finally, all my demons are gone. The Crane is back for good."
"I see that," Jason said. "She's barely standing up. We need to finish her off."
"And I know the way to do it," Jayden said. "Mom, Mia, Dad, follow my lead. We're going to do what I did at the Temple."
"There's still Madame Woe to deal with as well," Rita pointed out to them; it was true, Madame Woe had taken a beating in the fight but was still standing.
"You go finish her off," Jayden said. Rita saluted him and did battle with the monster she had enlisted to try and beat Billy once.
Their bodies began to glow with power. Everyone across the Earth, and universe, could feel it.
"Spirit of the Phoenix, full power!"
"Spirit of the Falcon, full power!"
"Spirit of the Dove, full power!"
"Spirt of the Crane, full power!"
"Release!"
The four animals flew towards Flammia and she knew she was in trouble. But not to be outdone, she unleashed a massive wave of power…she unleashed literally her own essence to try and stop the attack.
It was no use. The four animals easily overpowered her powers, and in a massive, fiery explosion, Flammia's legacy was nothing but ashes.
The feared conqueror was no more.
Any attacks that were remaining ceased.
The Rangers gazed at the smoking, charred ruins of the fight in downtown Angel Grove. Burning smoke was everywhere.
"I don't even want to ask…did we win?" Jayden asked. "After six months of bloody war?"
"I…I think so," Tommy said.
"She's gone, guys," Rocky said. "What's left of her is ashes. We did it!"
The Rangers breathed a sigh of relief and took off their helmets, every last one of them.
"We did it," Conner said. "I can't believe it. Against all odds, we did it!"
"Anything is possible when you believe," Lauren said.
Except they never saw the danger lurking until Rita suddenly shouted, "LOOK OUT!"
Nepa, Scorpina's daughter, who had come down during the fight, had caught Flammia's bow and two of her arrows as she was destroyed. Nepa herself could not be destroyed as she was Scorpina's daughter.
Before anyone knew it, the energy charged arrows were streaking towards Jayden. Rita, who had sent Madame Woe packing deflected one of the arrows, but was too slow to stop the second. And it was too late for Jayden to move.
That was, until a pink blur pushed Jayden out of the way and took the blast head on in a shower of sparks.
"KIM!" Tommy hollered. When he saw Kim forcibly power down, he knew Kim was in deep trouble.
"Get her back to the Chamber, now!" Jason shouted. "You'll pay for this, Nepa!"
"Say good bye to your precious little Pink Ranger, power brats," Nepa sneered as the Rangers teleported out.
Somewhere in the spirit world, same time
Two powerful individuals, one man and one woman, long since passed, had watched every second of that fight and knew what was coming next.
'That's the Kimberly you always talked about, Zordon,' the woman said. 'Selfless to the end. I was misguided in my thoughts about her.'
'I knew you would see it that way in the end, Fienna,' Zordon said. 'But now we must prepare ourselves to intervene.'
'Unfortunately, very true,' Fienna said. 'You are right about Kimberly, like you have been about everything else, but she will be judged for her past actions and I fear she will be judged harshly.'
'While true, she has you, she has me, and I think she has on her side people she owuldn't expect,' Zordon said. 'I think the Rangers who are expecting this is the last they see of Kimberly Ann Hart might be very surprised by the outcome. She deserves to live. The question is, does she believe that?'
