AN: I do not own the rights to either Danger Force or SPN. Just trying to finish up all my fanfics, and this was the closest to being done. One more chapter after this! Enjoy!
Mary untied Sam and Dean while Ray worked through the ropes on his feet and contacted Schwoz. Once they were all free, she gave her boys giant hugs. "I am so glad you weren't more seriously hurt." Other than scrapes and bruises, Sam and Dean were fine. They looked for David, but he was gone.
"Damnit; he knows who we are."
Ray looked at Dean. "What you are, but not who you are. Why is that a big deal?"
"If he goes to the authorities, he could give them descriptions of us. That's already happened once, remember?"
Ray did recall seeing the notices of the boys in Wisconsin, but they had explained that it was clones of them causing all the chaos. He nodded. He motioned with his chin towards the witch lying on the floor. "And what about him?"
The boys and Mary all looked at him. "Someone will find him sooner or later; they can clean this all up."
"Don't you need the bullet Mary used?"
"Nah. They'll just chalk it up to an accident and it'll go cold case," Sam assured Ray.
"I think if we leave the area, we should be fine, right?" Ray asked. The Winchesters exchanged looks. "Right?"
"Theoretically," Sam replied.
"Then why are we talking? Let's go," Ray urged them. But before they could leave, the witch was back on his feet, glowering at them. "Holy hell."
The witch growled and stretched out his hand. David appeared in his dog form, baring his teeth and snapping at the group. Ray stepped out in front of the Winchesters, knowing that he couldn't be hurt. "Schwoz, I need AWOL! NOW!"
In a blink, AWOL appeared, his bright yellow and black outfit momentarily catching the witch and his familiar off-guard. AWOL grabbed the brothers and disappeared just as quickly. Two seconds later, AWOL had grabbed him and Mary as well, teleporting them back to the Man's Nest in Swellview. Dean immediately crushed his mom in a hug, Sam also burying them both in his arms. Ray breathed a sigh of relief that no one had gotten hurt. AWOL straightened up, saluted Ray, and left just as quickly as he had appeared. Schwoz popped up out of nowhere and began giving Ray a quick exam to make sure he was okay.
"I a-heard you come in. I vanted to make shore you vere all raight."
Once the Winchesters heard Schwoz, they released the hold on their mother and actually realized that they were not in Missouri any longer. Sam looked all around at the Man's Nest in awe while Dean was trying to figure out where the food was. Mary was quietly taking it all in: the round table, the computers and monitors, the lights, and the tube set back from the main area.
"Ray! Where's the food?" Dean asked, trying to figure out his way around the place.
"Oh, uh, go through the door over there, take a left, go down the hallway, take a right. Kitchen will be right there." Dean gave him a small nod, strode through the atrium, and went through the far door. Ray saw Mary's eyes wandering around the space that he called home. He grabbed her hand. "Hey, you okay?" he asked gently. Mary turned towards him, a small smile on her lips.
"I am now," she replied. Ray embraced her, resting his chin on her head. He held her for a few minutes until she moved to break the hug. "I am so glad we got out of there when we did." Sam and Schwoz were quietly talking about the gear and setup that the Man's Nest had, but Sam could see that Ray cared for his mom deeply.
"Yeah, me too." Ray gave her a half-smile. "So what are we going to do about David and the witch?"
Sam interjected, "Well, since the witch-killing bullets didn't work, we need some outside help." Ray and Mary looked at Sam.
"And that would be-?"
"Rowena or Cas. Or both." Sam offered up.
Schwoz was confused. "Whot is a Cas?" The sound of wings echoed in the atrium, and a man appeared in a tan trenchcoat. Schwoz looked him up and down. "Huh, not whot I a-thought." He turned to Sam, who was a little shocked that Schwoz barely reacted to Cas's sudden appearance. Then he remembered that they had person that teleports and chalked it up as being used to it.
"Hey, Cas. So there's a witch with a familiar, and somehow, the witch-killing bullets we used didn't work. Any way you and Rowena could take care of the problem? Springfield, Missouri. Oh, and bring Baby back to the bunker, please."
Cas looked at Sam, nodded, and vanished just as quickly as he appeared. Sam took a big breath. At least that was taken care of. Ray had left to get some food for himself and Mary. His mom sat at the round table, finally able to relax now that none of them were in active danger. He went over to her and sat down. "Hey, Mom; thanks for coming after us. I don't know what we would have done without you and Ray."
"I'm just glad we were able to find you and rescue you." She squeezed his hand and gave him a smile. "I can't bear to think what might have happened if we hadn't."
"Hopefully, Cas and Rowena can take care of it."
"That was an incredibly powerful witch. I don't know if they will."
"Well, what do we do then?"
Ray and Dean walked through the door loaded down with snacks and drinks for everyone. As they ate, Sam filled in Dean about the Cas and Rowena situation. "I mean, I hope they can take care of the problem, but we need to be prepared for if they can't. That witch was the most powerful one I've ever seen."
Dean took a bite of his sandwich. He had a thoughtful look on his face as he chewed. "Hey Ray. What kind of abilities do your students have?" he queried.
"Oh, uh… I have AWOL, that's our teleporter and psychic. You met him. There's Shoutout—she uses soundwaves to move things. Volt uses electricity to take people out, and Brainstorm can lift things with his mind. And Schwoz can come up with like, any sort of electronic/tech thing. He's the one that coordinates our team when I'm not here." The Winchesters pondered on that for a minute.
"And which one would you say is the most sadistic?"
"Volt, hands down."
"No issues with causing others pain?"
"None. I have to restrain her most of the time, if I'm being completely honest." They were not expecting that.
"So she'd be down to help, no questions asked, if we needed her?"
"Gladly. Wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to join you guys for a good while, actually."
"I mean, zapping the shit out of people sounds like an awesome power, to be fair," Dean replied, grinning. Sam rolled his eyes. "What about any of the other students?"
"That would be a hard pass. I don't mind if AWOL is on standby for extraction, but if you're going to take someone else, Schwoz is probably the next best person to help." It was only then that they realized Schwoz was at the table with them eating as well. He was in the middle of taking a bite when Ray had offered his name up to help.
"And whot exac-itily am I a-helping with?"
"Taking down a witch and his partner."
"Love is a-love. I will note hert a couple." He shook his head emphatically.
Ray pinched the bridge of his nose. "Not a couple, Schwoz. Platonic partners, like business partners. They've already killed at least 3 people. We can't let them go." With that, Schwoz pulled out a blaster and laid it on the table.
"This shoulda worke."
Sam and Dean looked at the gun, then at each other. Dean got his hands on it first. "Haha, sucker! I get the gun!" he laughed. Sam sighed, folding his arms across his chest.
"You are such a child." Dean's triumphant face told Sam that he didn't care.
"Techni-cally, it is a blast-ore. You wont me to get-a Volt?"
Ray sat there, with his makeshift family, contemplating their next moves. All eyes were on him. "Let's see if Rowena and Cas need reinforcement before we call anyone up."
Cas entered the Man's Nest with barely a sound, Rowena next to him. Schwoz gasped softly at the sight of Rowena, transfixed. Rowena didn't notice him but glided over to the Winchesters and Ray. "Well, boys, we weren't able to get rid of Byron Netterhoff and his dog, so we're going to need a new plan."
Before anyone could say anything, Schwoz butted in. "You say-id you would coll me later, but you never did!"
Only then did Rowena look over at him, and smirk at the man, looking him up and down. "Oh, I remember you," she replied, circling the booth and leaning towards Schwoz with a mischievous grin. "Good to see you, Schwoz." She twirled a small piece of his hair. Schwoz blushed.
"Whaaat is going on right now?" Dean asked, a bit disgusted by this whole interaction between Rowena and Schwoz.
"Right, back to the problem at hand," Rowena said, breaking off eye contact with Schwoz. "Byron is too powerful, even for me. I need help in defeating him. I thought I'd be able to deal with him if I had Cas, but it didn't work. I'm going to need whoever we can get."
Ray looked at Schwoz and nodded. "Get Volt."
