A/N: Now I know many of you are waiting for a chapter, and I apologize since this will not be a full length chapter, but many of you have waited for over a year, and I would like to reward that patience with what I have worked on for the 9th chapter. Oh, and for anyone curious as to what Jason's voice sound's like, think of a mix between Fred Tatasciore and Vin Diesel. I hope you all enjoy this sneak peak, and with that, onto the reviews.

Dinosaurchicken: He only exposed his mouth.

SkeletalPheonix: No, Pennywise isn't dead yet. And Salem better prepare, because she's gonna be facing more than just Jason and Freddy.

jetjedi: Glad your enjoying it so far.

Creepingzombie: I plan on having Freddy fight Pennywise in the future. Glad you enjoyed the ending.

Nightmare723764: Well, here you go, and no, Weiss didn't see them, but she'll find out about it.

Zero: Glad you like it.

Kaos: And the slayer is angry.

SonOfSparda101: Glad your liking it so far.

rfavatar2: Nightmare Before Christmas is a great film. And I'm glad you liked the story.

Sparkyboi: I don't know about teleportation. I just made him extremely fast instead of teleporting. But you might.

Sparkyboi #2: Unfortunately, Cardin is not being redeemed. And as for Freddy and the Hatchet man, well, you'll just have to read to find out.

TheGentalGiant: The story is no longer on hiatus, but I won't be updating as much.

Nightmare723764 #2: I have returned.

theforceiswithme000: Welcome, fellow true fan!

Nightmare723764 #3: Glad that you're interested.

tomahawkESP: Glad your fine with most of them. He may not be as loved, but I plan on using Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw 3D, because I can see that one a bit more.

Dinosaurchicken: Glad you like it.

Swoogan: I'm happy, good sir.

Itharax: Eh, it's fine. It's one thing to be excited about something. It's another thing entirely to bash a story. Glad your excited so far.

Hippywolf: Glad to know I have your support, and you can expect updates to this story in the future.

Universe38: If you would press the 'Previous Chapter' Button, you would see my response.

Thanos69: Well, you can write one of your own if you'd like.

CreepingZombie: I love Dead by Daylight. And as for your points on John, you have given me an idea.

Sparkyboi #3: As much as I loved Prototype 2, I hated Alex's transformation into an evil psychopath. So Alex is going to be pulled into Remnant before the second game. And if I use Cole, I'll likely use hero Cole.

Kaore Ryu: It's gonna get real bloody.

Kaore Ryu #2: Glad you decided to read it. And no, Uncle Bob is not gonna be evil. That would literally spit in the face of T2.

Hatelove731: They are happening.

hhhhhyes: Probably been longer since you posted that, but here you go.

TheGentalGiant #2: I'm extremely glad to know I have your support.

ChaoticEngie: Eh, You wanna remake your story, I'm excited to see the final product, but I'm gonna stick to my guns.

Kamikisekai: Thanks! I plan to.

Nightmare723764 #4: Well, sir, your wait shall payoff, just be patient.

Aspiring-Creator: Let me reiterate that I do appreciate some of the criticism, and I apologize for coming off as a dick about some of the things I said, but I meant it all. I wish you good luck on your stories, and I hope you have a good day as well.

Guest Reviews:

Guest 1: Since Jason is from another world, his immortality doesn't affect Remnant's balance as much. And even if it did, while he made Ozma reincarnate, he literally spat in the face of his views when he made Salem immortal.

Guest 2: I have no clue what that's from.

Guest 3: Less of a series about nuns, more of a spinoff from the Conjuring.

Guest 4: Well said.

Guest 5: Glad you like it.

Guest 6: More chapters are coming.

And without further ado, onto the story.

"Do want to tell me why we're going to the stomping grounds of the most notorious serial killer in history?" Chloe asked Kaulder as they pulled up to the entrance of Crystal Lake. "Because I really don't want to die a gruesome death."

"Voorhees won't be here." Kaulder responded as he put the car in park.

"Isn't that a good thing?" Chloe asked as they exited the car.

"Not when magic is the cause of his disappearance." Kaulder said with the shake of his head. "Dolan said the counsel picked up traces of magic from here after Jason disappeared."

"What kind of magic could be that bad?"

"Universal."

Chloe's eyes widened in shock. "Universal magic doesn't exist. It's a myth for children." She said in disbelief, shaking her head at the absurdity of such a thing.

"Then how can you dreamwalk?" Kaulder asked with a knowing smile.

"I insert myself into the mind of my target while they're asleep." Chloe explained with a scoff.

"Close. You enter the dream realm and focus on your target. It's a common misconception. It's why dreamwalkers aren't enough proof of universal magic." Kaulder explained as they entered the camp, Kaulder leading the way to Jason's cabin.

"And how would know that?" Chloe asked with a raised eyebrow.

"How do you think the Witch Queen connected all those minds? She put you into waking sleep and controlled your minds." Kaulder answered.

"Whatever, we aren't trying to bring him back are we?" Chloe asked, hoping that the answer was no.

"No." Chloe sighed at the answer. "We're gonna figure out where he went." Chloe mood deflated a bit.

"We're not going after him, are we?" She asked Kaulder, fear visible on her face as she shivered in slight fright.

"We can't leave him loose in whatever universe he is in. Just because he's not here in this universe, doesn't mean he's not killing." Kaulder explained as they turned a corner on a trail, following the trail until it stopped at the woods.

"Why does the trail just end here?" Chloe asked in confusion. Kaulder narrowed his eyes. He examined the wood edge closely, looking in every which direction to see what he was missing. Eventually, his gaze stopped on the forest entrance where the trail ended, and he noticed something that usually only a trained hunter and tracker would notice.

The grass was patted down, forced to the ground by years of constant footsteps. The trail led in a specific direction, and Kaulder had a pretty good idea of where it lead.

"Where does the man sleep anyway? In the water?" Chloe asked Kaulder, who shook his head.

"I don't think so." Kaulder said, pointing at the grass trail. "Look."

Chloe did as she was told, and although she wasn't much of a tracker or hunter, considering how worn down the grass was, a child could probably spot it with no trouble. "Do you think it leads to Jason hidey hole?" Chloe asked.

"I'm not completely sure." Kaulder didn't want to be lead in the wrong direction, because a lot of the bodies that were found had broken shins and massive cuts on their legs, a result of getting caught in a bear trap. It wouldn't hurt Kaulder, but witch or not, Chloe could still be harmed and killed just as easily as a human.

"Let me try something." Kaulder turned to look at Chloe, watching as the redhead pulled out a small bottle of orange powder. She popped open the cap, and spilled a small amount on her hand, before closing the cap, and slipping it into her pocket. She blew the powder from her hand, and it went every which direction, multiplying quickly and spreading out a good bit, before most of it landed on the grass trail in front of them, the whole trail turning a bright orange. Kaulder looked at Chloe with a confused expression, one not often seen on the immortal witch hunter's face. Chloe smiled. "It picks up magic on trails, and the trail leading the the strongest source glows a bright orange."

Kaulder nodded, genuinely impressed. "Neat. How'd you make that?" He asked.

"With you, it's understandable. But for a normal human, Dolan is a lot smarter in witchcraft than we give him credit for." She admitted, complimenting Kaulder's aged friend.

Kaulder nodded his head in agreement. "True. He's one of the few Dolans who actually want to help me." The team of two made their way through the trail, Kaulder's trained eyes keeping both of them from stumbling into well hidden bear traps, before they finally arrived at their destination.

"Well, this is a pile of crap." Chloe remarked, looking at the makeshift home. It was shanty house, the metal of different colors and types crudely put together to make the home.

"C'mon." Kaulder said, to Chloe's dismay as he entered the small shack.

"This is unnerving." Chloe said as she followed the much older man. The inside of the shack wasn't any better than the outside, and Chloe easily spotted a small bed, as well as the entrance to another room that had light eminating from it. While Kaulder was inspecting the bed Chloe approached the entrance. She notice a foul odor coming from the room, and let out a scream of horror at what was inside.

A small table was set up, with an outfit consisting of a sweater, a pair of worn down and dirty trousers, and a pair of combat boots and the base, the sweater running up onto the table. Candles were seated around the edges of the table, and a badly decomposed head was set down on the table, like some alter. Kaulder rushed to his partner's side the moment she screamed, and when he spotted what had frightened her, he pulled her close in an attempt to comfort her.

"What is that?" Chloe asked shakily, her head buried into Kaulder's chest to avoid looking at the site.

"Pamela Voorhees. Jason's mother, and the original Crystal Lake slasher. He must've made an alter for her when she died." Kaulder said, attempting to piece together what had happened.

"Why didn't he just bury her?" Chloe asked, tears running down her face.

"I don't know." Kaulder admitted, at a loss himself for Jason's reasoning. "Maybe as revenge for her?" He guessed.

"I need to get out of this room." Chloe said, pulling herself from Kaulder's grip and going to sit on the bed. The moment she touched the bed, the room lit up a golden yellow color.

"What did you do?!" Kaulder asked her in worry.

"I don't know! I touched the bed and then this happened!" Chloe said quickly as two large golden appendages seemed to grow from the now golden bed.

"There must still be traces of the magic." Kaulder realized. "It must've reacted to the magic in your blood." Kaulder explained. He had no time to react as one of the appendages lashed at Chloe, and the girl seemed to disintegrate into a golden dust the moment in touched her. "CHLOE!" Kaulder was quick enough to dodge the other one, and went to grab it in an attempt to rip it off.

The moment he touched it, everything went black.

Everyone was on the edge of their seats as they watched the fight rage on in combat class. One combatant would actively throw hits, chipping away at his opponents aura, while the other combatant would walk right through them, doing massive damage to his opponent when he got his hands on him.

"Woah, they're going crazy!" Jaune remarked, staring at the scene with eyes full of awe.

"Never before have I seen a fight in combat class get this heated." Pyrrha said as she watched the battle play out.

"I just hope neither of them hurt themselves." Maddie said, slight worry in her tone.

"Awe, these two are the toughest of the tough! If they get hurt, they'll walk it off!" Nora said with her usual excitement, bouncing in her seat.

"That doesn't mean we want to see them get hurt, Nora." Ren admonished his childhood friend.

"These two just throw caution to the wind without a care in the world." Weiss said with a shake of her head.

"Well, they are two of the few at Beacon tough enough to be able to." Blake remarked.

"I'm just waiting to see who wins!" Yang said in excitement, leaning in closer to see the match easier. Yang looked at her little sister, who was bouncing up and down in her seat with her arms in the air cheering on one particular combatant.

"GO JASON!" She yelled as the masked man made another hit to his opponent in the arena, his own teammate, Freddy Krueger.

Freddy was sent skidding back, and dug his claws into the ground to stop himself, before looking up at Jason with a glare.

"Is that all you got, Momma's boy?" He taunted, before taking off into a sprint towards Jason. Jason went for a swipe with his machete, but the burn victim ducked under the blade, going into a slide as he landed at slice to Jason's leg, dropping the large man to one knee. Freddy jumped to his feet and quickly attempted a haymaker, but he clearly hadn't learned from his past mistake. He landed the punch, but Freddy himself was in more pain than Jason was. "YEOW! Why did I fall for that again?!" He asked himself as his attention turned to his know aching fist. Despite the addition of Aura, Freddy had failed to realize the since Jason had aura as well, more than he himself, an aura infused punch would still feel like punching a brick.

"Ki, Ki, Ki. Ma, Ma, Ma."

Jason quickly recovered while Freddy nursed his injured hand at the worst time. He grabbed Krueger's injured hand and pulled him closer, eliciting a shout from the dream demon. Having honed his craft over the course of 70 plus years, Jason easily stepped out of the way and sliced Freddy's neck, which was quickly healed by aura. With a growl of annoyance, Freddy jumped into the air, planting his feet on Jason, and jumping in the opposite direction, creating distance between the two. Once he landed, he rushed Jason, his entire body flashing white. Beacon had come to know this as an X-Ray move, and neither man were willing to teach any of the students the how to perform such a move, keeping the trick to themselves.

Jason's body flashed as well, attempting to land his own X-Ray, but Freddy's landed first, driving his claws into Jason's ribs, causing them to shatter, before giving him a claw only slap to the face. Jason's aura plummeted under thirty, and he stood dazed, allowing Freddy to rush him once more, landing slice after slice upon Jason, who was unable to react quick enough, still attempting to recover from the X-Ray.

"It looks like Frederick may have this one." Maddie said. She was about the only person who called him Frederick. Everyone else either called him his first name, his last name, or more commonly, asshole.

"KICK HIS BUTT, JASON!" Ruby shouted from the stands, catching weird looks from people nearby as she, along with her team, supported her large friend.

Freddy's quick succession had brought Jason's aura down past 3%, but right as he landed the final blow Jason recovered enough to slug Krueger directly in the face, finishing off his aura as well. Freddy skidded to a halt and both looked at their aura meters.

"The match ends in a draw!" Glynda announced, stepping between the two as she went over the two men's performance. "Firstly, Mr. Voorhees, you need to start developing new tactics. This strategy of muscling your way through everything that comes at you can and will get you killed eventually. You rely too much on your aura and physical toughness." She informed the masked man, who nodded.

"Gotta come up with something new, Momma's boy." Freddy said, a smirk on his face, causing Glynda to snap a glare at him.

"As for you, Mr. Krueger, you're cocky and overconfident, and you must learn and adapt to your enemy's weakness. Towards the end of the match, you attempted to deliver a direct punch to your opponents face, even though your opponent was obviously more vulnerable to your claws than your knuckles. As a result, you injured yourself instead, and allowed your opponent to get what could've been a critical, and on the battlefield, fatal hit." She said, her glare reinforcing her point. Freddy just scoffed in annoyance.

"Yeah, Yeah, I get it. Get better or die. Are you done?" Freddy asked, almost completely ignoring what he'd just been told. His rudeness earned him a smack to the back of the head courtesy of Jason as the two made their way back to their seats as the bell rang.

"Class dismissed. Please enjoy your break, students." Glynda said, before walking off as the students filed out of the room.

"That was AWESOME!" Ruby exclaimed, jumping up and down in excitement as Team's RWBY and JNPR followed the two slashers out of the classroom.

"Yeah!" Yang agreed. "That was the first time we saw you two fight each other! I was rooting for Jason."

"Hey!" Freddy said indignantly.

"Yang, we shouldn't take sides!" Weiss admonished. "They both did really well." Weiss could admit as much, even if she wasn't a fan of Freddy or Jason.

"I personally think Freddy was a really good fighter." Pyrrha commented. "Whereas Jason is tough, Freddy is skilled."

"Eh! Jason had this one in the bag!" Nora said, all her faith on the giant of the group. Freddy crossed his arms.

"It was a tie." Freddy grumbled under his breath.

"It was actually a tie, Nora." Maddie said in defense of her fellow burn victim.

"Thank you, Maddie!" Freddy said with gratitude, happy that someone other than Weiss and Pyrrah took his side.

"They are both skilled. Jason can take and dish out punishment, while Freddy is fast and efficient in combat, knowing where to hit." Ren said, refusing to take a side in the debate over which of their friends were better.

"I'm with Ren on this one." Jaune said, jerking his thumb in the direction of their green dressed friend.

Ruby nodded, taking in their opinions, before turning to look at Blake. Her mood saddened at her appearance. Lately, Blake had become more distant from the rest of them, losing sleep and refusing to talk much with them. "What about you, Blake?" Ruby asked, catching the faunus' attention.

"What?" She asked, turning to her leader.

"Who do you think would win in a fight, Jason or Freddy?" Ruby asked, gesturing to the two men.

Blake scowled. "I think that discussion is pointless." She said, turning back towards the direction she was previously going.

"Well you ain't gotta be so rude about it." Freddy said, glaring at faunus.

Blake felt a large hand on her shoulder, and turned to see who the owner of it was, finding Jason looking at her with a worried and questioning eye. Blake's eyes widened upon spotting the hand, and immediately jumped from his grip, glaring daggers at the masked man. "Don't touch me!" She screeched, turning and stomping off. Everyone watched her form disappear in bewilderment.

"What's her problem?" Jaune asked, looking at the bow wearing girl's team.

"I don't know." Ruby said.

"She's been like that since the docks." Yang explained. "She's been more distant lately, but it seems like she's bothered by Jason."

"Why? I thought Jason helped her at the docks." Nora said, also confused at their friend's behavior.

"Maybe it has something to do with the bodies?" Weiss suggested, causing everyone but Ren to look at her in confusion.

"What bodies?" Freddy asked, confused. "No one was killed at the docks." He told his friend.

Ruby nodded in agreement. "Yeah. The only real injured person from what I know was Torchwick, and he was picked up by the White Fang before we could get him." She explained

"You mean none of you have heard?" Ren asked the group. Jason's eyes widened as he realized what they were probably talking about. "The police found at least ten separate bodies at the docks, each and every one of them found mangled or brutalized in some way." Everyone's eyes widened in horror as Ren explained what was discovered at the docks.

"Oh my god." Yang whispered under her breath.

"How did we not see them?" Ruby asked herself, horrified.

"And those are just the ones they could recover." Weiss added. "They found a massive blood stain between two crates, along with what remained of a White Fang uniform." Everyone but the slashers turned green at what they were implying.

"But what does that have to do with Jason?" Ruby asked, gesturing to the masked man.

"I'm unsure of that as well." Ren said, bringing his hand to his mouth in a thinking pose. "While our friend has shown some violent tendency in the past, he has yet to kill anyone. The closest he came was his outburst in the Forever Fall Forest with Cardin, but Cardin had nearly killed him."

Freddy snorted, but nobody paid him any mind. "I doubt that." He said under his breath.

"Blake was part of the White Fang." Pyrrha remarked. "Maybe she saw the dead bodies? It can't be easy seeing former comrades be killed so brutally."

Jason's eyes widened as he listened to what Pyrrha had said.

After the battle at the docks, Lacey pulled Jason away while Team RWBY. And she didn't look happy.

"What was that back there?!" Lacey yelled, glaring at Jason. Jason tilted his head in confusion.

'What do you mean?' Jason asked in sign language.

"I saw what you did to those men! Criminals or not, nobody deserves what you did to them!" She yelled in anger. Jason narrowed his eye.

'They were trying to kill us! They were terrorists! Why should I feel bad?' Jason signed. Lacey balked at Jason's answer.

"Wh... Why?" Lacey stuttered. "What do you mean, 'why'?! You stabbed a man with his own arm! You shoved your machete down a man's throat after he SURRENDERED!"

'So?' Jason signed. 'He'd have killed anyone else without a care in the world. He only surrendered because he knew he couldn't beat me.'

"Of course he did!" Lacey said. "You're supposed to apprehend people like him when when they give up!"

'So they can get out and hurt more people?!'

"IT'S NOT OUR PLACE TO-!" Lacey cut herself off and took a deep breath, before looking up at Jason. "What happened to the boy I used to play with at camp when we were kids?"

Jason's eye widened. 'What do you mean?'

Lacey sighed. "It's obvious that we would change after so many years apart, but since when did you become so cold blooded?" She asked.

'What do you mean cold blooded?' Jason signed in confusion. "I still care for you don't I?'

"I'm not saying you don't Jason, but this isn't about how much you care for me, or Ruby, or Yang, or any of your friends." Lacey explained. "This is about your willingness to kill."

'They attacked me! I made sure they couldn't hurt anyone else!' Jason defended his choices.

"Let me ask you something." Lacey said softly. "Why do you want to be a Huntsman?" Jason's eyes widened at the question.

'Huh?' Jason was confused. Lacey sighed.

"When I saw you drown in that lake, I withdrew from everyone. I stopped speaking. My mom signed me up for a therapist." Lacey explained as she sat down on a nearby bench. "Eventually, I decided to become a huntress, so that I could make sure that what happened to you, didn't happen to anyone else."

'Lacey...'

"You may not have been a faunus, but you faced just as many problems as them." Lacey said, looking at Jason. "The White Fang was originally a peaceful organization, fighting for equal rights, before the change in leadership." Jason listened to the story in curiosity, taking a seat next to Lacey. Lacey turned to look at Jason.

"Why did you decide to be a Huntsman?"

That argument hadn't ended particularly well. Jason had been unable to answer, and Lacey decided to walk home herself, telling Jason that when he had the answer, then they would talk. But Lacey had seen him cut loose that night, and maybe Blake had too. Not once did that thought enter his mind until now. If she had, then she hadn't said anything, but that would explain the hostility towards him. She didn't like that he had killed many of her former friends. If that was the case, then Jason was torn. He felt bad that he caused her pain, but he couldn't bring himself to regret killing any of the White Fang members. It's like he said with Lacey, they were terrorists. Killers. Had he let them walk, chances are they would get out and go right back to the White Fang. Jason kept that from happening.

Granted, Blake was a former White Fang member, and if someone like Blake came out of the White Fang, they couldn't all be bad.

But that percentage, whatever it was, would definitely be in the minority, and the way those grunts were coming at him on the docks, he seriously doubted any of the ones he killed were like Blake.

"Hey Jason, did you kill those White Fang members?" The question came out of nowhere, and startled Jason out of his thoughts. He looked down at Nora, the only one who would really ask him without much of a care. To be all honest though, she probably expected him to say no.

So it came as a surprise when he nodded yes to the question.

Silence befell the group as everyone looked at him in shock, some of them backing away out of instinctive fear.

"Wh-What?" Nora stuttered, not at all expecting the answer.

"You did kill them?" Jaune asked in disbelief, almost positive he heard wrong, but he knew he didn't when Jason nodded his head.

"Why?" Pyrrha asked in shock, unable to believe that this giant she had known since initiation was capable for such THAT much violence.

'They were terrorists. They were trying to kill me, and they would've done the same to innocents. So I stopped them permanently.' Jason signed, shrugging his shoulders, as if his answer was the most obvious thing in the world.

'Too early, my dear boy. Much too early.' The voice of his mother sounded in his head, although his attention wasn't quite on her as Yang yelled in outrage.

"THAT'S IT? ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU COULDN'T HAVE KNOCKED THEM OUT?!" Yang yelled, her eyes turning red as she glared at Jason, who looked at her in confusion.

'I could've, but that wouldn't have stopped them from hurting more people.' Jason signed, legitimately confused as to what the problem was.

"Jason, that's assuming they even wanted to hurt more people when they were released. That's why they could've gone to prison. For rehabilitation." Ren explained, although he was similarly put off by Jason's blunt willingness to kill.

'But what about the ones who do kill when they are released?' Jason asked, although he already knew what the answer would be.

"Then you put them back in prison." Ruby answered. Jason was supposed to protect her, but hearing that answer got on his nerves big time.

"And the cycle continues." The deep guteral sound that was Jason's voice echoed through the hall, and everyone gawked at him.

"What do you mean by that?" Weiss asked, eyes narrowed in distrust.

"You send them to prison, they get out, kill, get sent back, get out, kill, and the cycle continues, over, and over, and over again." Jason voiced his reasons, something he rarely did considering the pain it brought his throat.

"So that means you take the law into your own hands?" Yang asked with a glare.

"Isn't that was Huntsmen do anyway?" This time, Freddy spoke up. "Just like the police, we investigate, we find perpetrators, and we eliminate the threat."

"We deal with grimm!" Maddie joined the conversation, eyes widened as she stared at Freddy. "Our job is not to police, but to protect!"

"So why do we end up doing the police's job?" Jason asked, eyes narrowing in anger.

"We're Huntsman!" Nora exclaimed. "We do what the Police can't!"

"The point is, we do not just kill people!" Pyrrha spoke up, glaring at the giant. "We let the police and the justice system decide what happens to them!"

"At the cost of someone's life?"

"That's not what she is saying, Frederick, and you know it!" Maddie said, glaring at the bladed man.

"They were attacking me! I'm not gonna just be nice to them!"

"The bodies were found mangled, you brute!" Weiss yelled, stomping up to the man. Jason glared at the man. "You crushed a man between storage crates! Are telling me that with the ungodly strength you possess, you couldn't have incapacitated them?!"

"I-"

"Or do you prefer to kill?!"

Everything went dead silent while the tension skyrocketed. Jason felt his rage reaching it's boiling point at her accusation.

"What?" He growled out, but Weiss wasn't backing down.

"Every time someone's wronged you, your first instinct is to kill! Look at Cardin!" Weiss said, glaring at the masked man, oblivious to the rage growing within him. "You brutalize him in your combat matches and tried to kill him in the Forever Fall forest."

"Weiss?" Ruby spoke up, noticing Jason begin to shiver in rage.

But the Schnee heiress either didn't hear or didn't listen, continuing on her tirade. "And that's not even counting what you do to his team! Every time, you utilize moves that would normally kill if not for Aura!"

"Kid, that's enough!" Freddy said, but once again, Weiss ignored them, glaring at Jason.

"Do you prefer to kill? Do you get a kick out of causing pain?"

That was the last straw.

And that's all I've written. I hope you enjoy this little bit, and I hope those of you eager for more are willing to wait a little longer. Also, the story is now on Ao3: /works/26046250/chapters/63340780
