Oberyn wasn't hard to find, he was with Ser Lynderly in the halls of healing. The Guard Captain had been injured during the skirmish and had apparently been refusing treatment until now. He could hear Oberyn's voice the moment they entered. "Don't worry Ser, I've put my men on rotation throughout the castle. No harm shall come to the Little Lord, you have my word."
Jasper chuckled, "I'm glad to hear that Lord Martell, although I would prefer a better title."
Oberyn turned and smiled at him, "But alas, you are still rather short. It wouldn't be a fitting title if it was false."
Obara made a sound that seemed suspiciously like a giggle, and he just rolled his eyes. "Come along, Lord Martell. We have much to discuss, and with the Ser in need of his rest, it seems you are my new Commander of the Guard."
They started making their way back towards Jasper's office, Oberyn following along behind them. "I must ask that you take a number of my people into Dorne, I don't want any targets in Vale until this is resolved. Lysa and her child, Daenerys too for that matter. I'll have Ser Darry go with them for protection. I'm not sure if my sister was bull-headed enough to come back yet, but I want her and Nymeria to stay in Sunspear for now."
"Dorne will welcome them with open arms, Lord Arryn."
Jasper smiled, "This alliance has proven to be the best thing that's happened to Vale. You have my gratitude."
They made it to his office rather quickly and he was honestly grateful for it. Keeping such a huge secret for fourteen years was a burden and he was happy for a chance to be open for once.
"Before we get into more personal matters, Obara, please give your father a copy of Lord Ruthermont's interrogation."
She pulled out several sheets of paper and handed them to Oberyn, something he seemed quite pleased with but didn't comment about. He quickly read through them, clearly noting the dozen houses that were involved in this, as well as the prominent names attached. "We need to find out if their attempt on your father was successful, and we should find out how much involvement Lady Arryn has in this. Then we can move to deal with the rest of these traitors."
Jasper shook his head, "Lysa Arryn has no involvement in this other than loose lips and a poor choice in lovers. I've already verified this, thoroughly."
"Oh, with another one of these spells of yours?" Oberyn questioned, eyebrow raised.
"I looked through her memories, something that can't be faked without the help of a very skilled wizard. Privacy is luxury I can't afford to give, under the current circumstances. I'll have to deal with Baelish personally though, if we kill him publicly, I may lose Lysa's support. And no matter what, she is about to become acting regent until I become of age. Jon won't survive the night."
"Are you sure this is the path you want to take, Little Lord?"
Jasper couldn't help but sigh. "He stopped being my father the moment he condoned the rape and killing of your sister. I don't trust him around Mya or your daughters, and I certainly won't allow Lysa to go back to him. Besides, all the progress my people have made, would be instantly put into jeopardy if he ever returned here. No, he must die tonight. For my people's sake, and my own."
Oberyn had straightened at the mention of his sister, his muscles taught. "I understand. You'll have my full support, should you need it."
He shook his head, "Not with King's Landing. That's probably the easiest part of this whole mess. But I will need more troops from Dorne. I don't trust anyone that isn't already in the castle, and arrests will need to be made tonight. No one can be allowed to flee the Vale, lest some upstart tries to do this all over again. I want every person involved in this to be hanged for treason! I'll also need to start issuing magical contracts, every noble house will sign one, there's no more time for me to be gentle about this."
The dornish man let out a laugh, "I suppose you of all people would find killing someone in King's Landing rather easy. I can get you another fifty soldiers without much issue, but anything more than that will take at least a day."
"Thank you, I will be relying on Dorne heavily in the coming days. Bring as many soldiers as you're able, until the last contract is signed, you will be my sword and shield." Jasper felt his eyes widen, "I should probably issue contracts to all the knights and conscripts as well. They have the swords and the numbers, and all it takes is someone with a little bit of influence to stir something up… Ah, I almost forgot, I was supposed to tell you about Elia, as well." He ran a hand through his hair, nerves and stress making itself known. Letting out another little sigh, he rolled on the balls of his feet and willed himself to put the hand away. "I never ordered anyone to kill Clegane or Lorch, I did that personally. As soon as I learned about what happened to her, I was overwhelmed with shame and rage. I took advantage of all the confusion that the sacking brought on, and I snuck into King's Landing myself. No one really knows the truth about what happened except for your family, not even Mya. I didn't want word getting back to my father, or the king, so I never involved anyone else. But I swear to you, If I had any idea what was going to happen there, I would have gotten your family out before the castle was ever breached."
Oberyn seemed frozen stiff, but Obara didn't miss a beat. "What, you never said anything about going in alone. Gods Jasper, you can be such a bonehead. I mean seriously, what would you have done if you got caught? You went in blind and just hoped for the best. When this mess is over, we are having a serious conversation about your impulsiveness and lack of tactics."
He smiled, "As always, I look forward to your lessons Lady Obara."
Oberyn chuckled, a tear rolling down his cheek. "I guess I owe you far more than a simple helmet Lord Arryn. Thank you, for ensuring my sister got some justice in the end."
"I only did what I thought was right, Lord Martell. You owe me nothing, but I would appreciate your continued friendship. Now, I promised your daughter I would tell you the truth, so that is what I shall do. Although I'm sure Mya will kill me when she realizes she wasn't told first. I was once a lowborn boy from another world, a world where magic was rather commonplace…"

AN: For all you eagle-eyed reviewers who are wondering why he calls himself a lowborn, it is because he crossed over during the Battle of Hogwarts and Dumbledore hid much of Harry's heritage from him. His family was wealthy, and in my mind, at the very least had a seat on the Wizengamot (Although JK never confirms this) but he never found out about it. As far as he knows, his parents had a decent amount of money when they died, but no real political connections.
Also, on my last chapter someone had left a comment and I responded to it on AO3, but I figured it would be worth noting for all my readers. Personally, I prefer AO3 because it allows me to respond to my reviewers directly on the story. (Looking at you fanfiction, and your poor system for PMs and reviews)
"I tried really hard to add faults to Jasper that were reasonable (Girls, Impulsive, not a perfect politician, limited magic, etc) without making him too incompetent. Things like saving Dany, killing the Mountain, Building Schools, Hell- Giving the Martells Portkeys- these are all decisions he did because he felt like they were right, but he didn't really think them through beyond the immediate results.
When he built the schools, he ignored the impact it would have on the nobility and his vassals in general. When he killed the mountain, he literally wrote a letter that said he did it. With the Portkeys-, the Martells had access to the castle and he practically outed himself as a magic user.- I wanted his actions to have an actual impact, but at the same time, I wanted him to act how I felt like he would act. It is in his nature to help people, to seek justice, and to trust and take risks.
Oh, and about the index, thanks, I'm really glad that someone appreciates/enjoys it. I've put hours into researching that stuff and it takes a lot of work. Not everything can be just copied from the wiki, sometimes I need to come up with an explanation myself or add more description. Like when I was defining the Old Gods, I think I ended up using aspects of Druidism to define it more clearly. Like I think the wiki said they worship nature but gave no description on why. Another great example is the Faith, I took probably six paragraphs and turned it into a few sentences."
