Warning: Sexual and physical abuse of a child
Molly huffed as she checked the remaining ammunition in both guns. She figured she would hold onto them. She had always preferred silent melee weapons, but beggars couldn't be choosers.
She picked up the man's clothes from the ground and began to dress into them. They weren't her size, but they would do for now. Luckily the second man had been wearing a belt, which she removed from him with a slight struggle. She then checked him for weapons, finding a knife which she put through his head to keep him from turning.
As she stood to put on the belt she jumped as she suddenly heard barking. "Shit…" For a moment she was nervous, before realizing that had to be Sam.
Clementine couldn't sleep. She had too much on her mind. There was just too much that the child didn't understand.
Not only that, but she was angry. She was angry with Carver for getting rid of Molly. And as much as she wanted to believe that her guardian couldn't be dead, she had yet to return. She knew Molly was tough, but no one was invincible.
The girl tossed and turned for a while, trying to force herself to drift off. She could hear the adults quiet chatter from the other side of the pen, which didn't help much. They seemed convinced that Molly was dead, but Clementine didn't know what to think.
All she knew, is they needed to leave before Carver decided to get rid of anyone else.
Molly registered that the dog's barking was coming from the ski lodge almost immediately. She figured if Sam was inside, there was a good chance Luke was in there as well. The woman quickly put the belt on to keep the pants she was wearing from falling down and then proceeded to head towards the lodge.
After the damage Carver and his people had done getting inside was easy. But now she needed to find Luke.
Sam's barking had quieted down for a moment, but before long she heard him again. She realized the noise was coming from upstairs.
As she started ascending the staircase, she could hear a familiar voice shush the door. She approached the door to what was a close and opened only to have a gun aimed at her.
"Luke?" She said.
Luke's eyes were wide as he lowered the weapon. "Oh my God. Molly…"
Bonnie was lost in thought after her conversation with Carver. She knew what he was doing was wrong, but she wanted to believe he had good intentions.
The group was safer in here than out there. And if they just cooperated more things could work out. She would just have to convince Clementine to be on her best behavior. That way she could get the child's clothes back.
For now, she figured it would be best to keep an eye out for the young child, just in case someone tried something sick with her. She was sure that poor little girl had no idea what sex was, she wanted the kid to reserve what innocence she had, even if it was hard.
She would have to do her best to look out for the child.
When Luke regained his senses and finally stepped out of the closet, he was still in shock. Sam wagged his tail excitedly and practically jumped on Molly.
The blonde woman chuckled a bit and pet him. "Hey, hey, boy."
"Holy shit… I- I thought you were someone coming to finish the job off." Luke admitted.
"No. I'm glad to see you're okay. But just a tip for next time you're hiding from a potential killer, hiding with a barking dog isn't a great idea." Molly said.
"Yeah, yeah… I know it wasn't the best choice, but I heard the gunshot and just… hid." Luke said. "I can't get caught. Not now…"
"Well, it's only me. So you have nothing worry about." Molly said.
"How did you get out of there?" Luke asked.
"The asshole kicked me out." Molly said. "And I gotta find a way back to that camp."
"Hold on, we can't just walk up in there. We need a plan." Luke said.
"My girl's still there. He took my kid's clothes. I need to get her out of there before something bad happens." Molly said.
Luke was surprised by that. "What? Why would he talk her clothes?"
"Because he's a sick fuck, that's why." Molly said. "And I need to get back there before he hurts her."
"Look, I know how you feel. I want to get everyone out of there soon too. But we need to come up with a plan." Luke said. "We can't just rush in there without one."
"Well, what's your plan, Luke? What's your big plan?" Molly questioned looking annoyed.
Luke was silent for a moment before sighing, "I don't have one."
"Exactly."
"But that doesn't mean we can't come up with one." Luke said. "We'll figure something out."
"Mm-hm…" Molly huffed sounding unconvinced.
"I know you're worried about Clem. I'm worried too. But she's a tough kid. She'll be fine." Luke said.
"She's tough, but she's still a kid. She needs me." Molly replied.
"You won't be away from her for long. We're gonna get our people out of there and then find some place safe to settle down…" Luke said.
Molly didn't bother responding.
"…It's getting late. We should probably get some rest. I'm exhausted and I'm sure you are two. We'll figure something out and the morning and go from there." Luke suggested.
"Fine…" Molly gave in, knowing there wasn't much they could do tonight.
"I uh, moved the bodies outside… So, if you wanna sleep downstairs you can… Wherever you feel comfortable." Luke said.
Molly shrugged and replied, "It doesn't matter to me. I probably won't end up getting much sleep tonight anyway."
"Well, you should at least try to get your winks…" Luke said. "Goodnight, Molly."
"Night…"
"Clem," A voice spoke quietly to her, a light nudge making her jump a bit. "Clem, are you awake?"
"Sarah?" Clementine looked to the teen who was nudging her. "What's wrong?"
"I… I can't sleep…" Sarah said. "It's not comfortable, I miss having a real bed."
"I haven't had a real bed in years…" Clementine muttered.
"Really…? So where did you sleep?" Sarah asked.
"Wherever I had to. On the ground sometimes." Clementine said.
"Like… full on the ground? Not in a sleeping bag?" Sarah said.
"Depended on if we had a sleeping bag or not…" Clementine answered.
"Oh…" Sarah frowned. "Well… What do you do when you can't sleep?"
"I…" What did she do? Clementine paused for a moment usually she thought about people she lost, wondered if they were watching down on her and what they would say to her. "I think about all the people I loved. All the people who aren't with me anymore. Sometimes I think about what they would say to me if they were here, and…what I would say to them."
"I… guess you've lost a lot of people…" Sarah frowned.
"I have…" Clementine nodded.
"I'm sorry… about whoever loss… And about Molly…" Sarah said.
Clementine kept quiet.
"…Clem…" Sarah called again after a moment.
Clementine fought the urge to sigh. "Yes?"
"Can I ask you something?" Sarah asked.
"Sure…"
"Where were you all day? We were worried. Did Mister Carver have you working late?" Sarah asked. "That's what Bonnie told us."
"No… He took me to his office." Clementine said.
"And kept you there all day?" Sarah furrowed her brows. "Why would he do that?"
"I don't know… I'm just glad I'm not in there anymore…" Clementine said. "You know, if you can't sleep, you could always just try counting sheep."
"That doesn't work, that's just something people say." Sarah said.
"Yeah…" Clementine sighed. "I know…"
When morning came along Molly immediately went to check the van. They had to kill a few straggling geeks, that were probably attracted by the gunshots from the night before.
With the geeks dead, Molly checked the gas meter in the van. It was low, would probably only get them a few miles. while Luke stood nearby waiting for the verdict. Sam was pacing back and forth, Luke noticed he had been doing that often since he had been separated from Clementine. He really hoped that kid and everyone else was okay.
"Damn it!" Molly exclaimed from inside.
"What's wrong?" Luke called to her.
"There's not enough gas to get us too far at all. This thing is near empty." Molly said.
"Damn… So what do we do?" Luke asked. "It'll take a lot longer to get back there on foot…"
"We might not have much of a choice. I don't know if there are any vehicles around that we can siphon from..." Molly said.
"Fuck… It's gonna take us a good six days, minimum, to get there…" Luke said.
"Well, if that's what it takes, so be it… Let's go inside and pack up whatever supplies we can for the trip." Molly said.
Luke gave a nod. "Alright… Let's do this…"
Clementine didn't understand why Carver called her to his office again. Even though she didn't want to be there, she found herself forced into the room by one of his guards.
Carver offered up the same deal as before and upon her refusing told her she would "never get her clothes back if she kept being stubborn".
When the child asked to leave, he refused to let her. When she angrily got up and tried to walk out the door, the man stopped her.
Clementine struggled against him, only to stop when the man threatened to shoot her.
He walked back over to his desk with her in his arms and simply took a seat. "Relax, honey… I just want you to keep me some company."
"Wh-Why?" Clementine asked. "Why can't I leave?"
"Why do you want to leave? I'm not hurting you, am I?" Carver asked.
"N-No…" Clementine muttered, but tense in his lap when she felt his hands gently rubbing her. She was terrified. He hadn't touched her before, back when Molly first asked her, but now...
"Then there's no reason to leave…" Carver whispered to her.
"…I- I'm supposed to help work…" Clementine said. "I have to work, like the others…"
"I figured you could use a break…" Carver said.
Clementine could feel his hand trailing along her body. "Wh-What are you doing…?"
She flushed red, feeling embarrassed, she put a hand down to hide her girlhood and brought the other to her chest to cover herself. Carver however batted at her hands.
"Just relax, honey. I'm not gonna hurt you…" Carver said.
He wasn't hurting her, but Clementine was uncomfortable. He shouldn't be touching her at all. Molly said grown-ups weren't supposed to do this.
"I want to leave…" Clementine whispered.
"I told you before, you can't always have what you want, Clementine." Carver whispered to her, his hands growing bolder.
His fingers were briefly brushing over her chest, and neck, but never lingered long. The child squirmed but was held still.
In that moment Clementine was completely and utterly terrified.
Luke and Molly proceeded to load up bags with canned goods and water bottles.
It was hard not to think about the events that had occurred in the lodge. Lives literally lost because of Carver.
Walter and Matthew both deserved better.
"Alright, I think this is enough. We're not gonna be able to carry much more." Luke said.
"Yeah. This will do." Molly said. "See if you can find any weapons."
Luke nodded. The two check around the cabin for anything else of use.
Once they finished packing the decide to try to talk up a plan. Luke explained how far Carver's community was and they mapped out how long it would take to get there from their location.
As much as they wanted to move right away, they knew they would need their energy for the walk. They made a meal and ate while plotting out what to do once they reached Carvers'.
Clementine shook as the man continued slowly touching her in areas that made her feel strange. This was the type of touching Molly had meant when she asked her had he touched her. "Y-You're not supposed to-"
"I'm what?"
"N-Not supposed to touch me… Not- Not in swimsuit spots." Clementine said.
"Who told you that, honey?" Carver asked her.
"M-My parents…" Clementine stammered. "A-And... And Molly, she said grown-up aren't supposed to touch here. It's... bad... It's..."
The child tried to recall the word for it.
"It's...r-rape..."
"This isn't rape, honey. And your parents and Molly aren't here, are they?" Carver replied.
"N-No… But- But you'll get in trouble." Clementine mumbled. "It's bad."
"I'm in charge here, honey. I won't get in trouble." Carver said. "Besides, do you really think me making you feel good is bad?"
"I-I-"
"Does it feel good?" Carver questioned.
Clementine frowned, "I… don't know… It feels weird… I don't want you to do that to me."
"Has anyone ever touched you, honey?" Carver asked.
The girl said nothing as she trembled a bit.
"I asked you a question. Has anyone ever touched you? Here?" He moved his hand from her chest lower. "Or maybe here-"
Clementine gripped his wrist, trying to stop him. "No! Don't touch me there!"
"Shh… I'm not gonna hurt you. It'll feel nice… Don't you want to feel nice?" Carver said.
"N-No…" Clementine whimpered.
"Aww, don't get upset, honey… I just want to give you something that group of yours can't…" Carver told her.
The child was shaking so hard that Carver finally moved his hand away.
"You want to go back to the pen?" Carver asked the child.
Clementine quickly nodded. "P-Please…"
"Fine… But this is between you and me, you wouldn't want anyone else to get hurt, right?"
"I- I won't say anything…" Clementine said. She didn't want anything bad to happen because of her.
"That-a-girl. I knew you were smart." Carver said.
Clementine hadn't said a word of what Carver had done to her; she told her group that she was tired when they worriedly ask if she was okay. She didn't want to talk. She felt sick. She just wished Molly was here.
The next day she was once again brought to Carver's office. Though things were a bit different, this time he did touch her down there. Clementine struggled at first, but he warned her to keep quiet.
When she was brought to the pen, she didn't tell. She was worried that if she did, she would be in trouble. Besides there wasn't much the group could do for her. Carver would probably kill them if they tried.
She had to do as he said and keep it a secret between them…
That night Carver called for a meeting with his guards. He was concerned that two of his men had yet to return to the hardware store.
"You're all aware that I sent Earl and Howard to handle that trouble-maker away from here… The two of them have yet to return. Now there could be multiple reasons for this… But I wanted to make you all aware of the situation." Carver spoke.
"They might take a little while longer to get back, Bill… Those guys took the van that was low on gas…" Tavia said. "I bet the idiots didn't even check."
"Or she killed them…" Cordell spoke, drawing the others' gazes. "That woman, Molly… She probably killed them…"
"There's two of them and one of her. How could she possibly do that?" Tavia said.
"Plus, she was weaponless." Bonnie asked.
"I wouldn't put it pass her." Cordell said.
Carver thought on those word then narrowed his eyes. "Damn it…" He muttered and started to walk away.
"Bill?" Bonnie called.
Carver didn't respond as he walked back towards his office.
Wanting to make a bit of distance, they loaded into the van and begin driving towards Tennessee. The van was so close to empty, Molly knew they wouldn't get far, but she didn't feel comfortable waiting any longer.
"This might be a random question, but what happened to your clothes?" Luke asked.
"Carver let his asshole followers take them. So, I killed them…" Molly replied. "…You saw them outside."
"Yeah… I did…" Luke frowned. "Did… Did they hurt you?"
"They didn't get the chance. And I need to get to Clementine before some sick asshole tries something with her. I've seen the way that guy looks at her." Molly said.
"Wait- You think Carver would hurt Clementine like that?" Luke asked. "Molly, that guy is batshit crazy, but he wouldn't touch a kid."
"Keep telling yourself that. He stripped my girl. She's a little kid." Molly said. "I don't trust him."
"I don't trust him either, but I don't think he would touch a child." Luke said.
"People can surprise you sometimes." Molly said. "Anyway, I'd advise you to get some rest, because once we run out of gas, we're on foot the rest of the way. And we both know we got a long trip ahead of us."
Luke sighed. "Alright…"
Carver found himself contemplating Cordell's words. Had that woman, Molly really killed two more of his people? Was she really that capable? He couldn't even punish her for her actions. He regretted sending her away. He should've put a bullet in her then and there. Now he was sure she would come back. And if that happen…
He felt a deep anger began to build up inside him. He tried to convince himself that he wasn't worried. But he made a decision, if he couldn't punish her, he would punish her girl instead.
If Molly was truly alive, if she came back to find her girl, she would find the child as a shell of her former self. Carver was going to break that little girl, if it was the last thing he did.
The next day Clementine was woken first and immediately brought to Carver's office by Bonnie. The girl didn't know what he wanted but she did notice he seemed angry. The girl was nervous when he excused Bonnie, telling her to shut the door behind her. The woman did so, and Clementine felt her stomach drop.
"How did you sleep, honey?" Carver asked.
"I- fine…"
"Come here, Clementine." Carver urged the child over.
"Are- Are you going to touch me?" Clementine questioned nervously. "Are- Are you gonna r-rape me?"
Carver didn't answer that question, "Come here. Don't make me say it again…"
Hesitantly the child walked over to the man and he quickly pulled her into his lap. The child didn't struggle, Carver was already anger, and she was scared and confused as to what's going on.
"Am I in trouble?" Clementine asked after a moment.
"No… You're not in trouble." Carver said. "But sometimes children pay for the sins of their guardians."
Clementine frowned, "I don't know what that means."
"That's okay." Carver moved the child, laying her down on the desk. "Just know, what's about to happen, just know it had to be done."
"Wh-What?"
"And if you scream… I'll have to hurt you…" Carver said.
Clementine felt panic hit her, she immediately tried fighting against the man.
Her struggles didn't help, she did her best to muffle her own scream when she felt the pain between her legs.
She couldn't stop tears from falling from her eyes. She didn't know why he was doing this to her.
They spent the night resting in the van, and then bright and early in the morning, Luke and Molly started their walk towards the Hardware store. Luke did his best to lead the way, both knew it would be days before they arrived, and they were worried for the safety of the group.
Sam trotted close beside them, as they walked in silence.
"You know the way, right?" Molly asked.
"Yeah… Yeah, I think so." Luke replied.
Molly rose a brow, "You think?"
"I know the area. And I know it'll take us about a week to get there on foot." Luke said.
"Well, the faster we get there the better." Molly said.
"Yeah… But we still need a plan…" Luke said.
"We'll figure one out along the way. Just keep moving." Molly said. She needed to make sure her girl was okay.
Luke fought back a groan. This woman was so stubborn.
"It's alright, honey. It's over now…" Carver shushed her.
"Wh-Why? Why did you do it to me…?" Clementine sniffled. "Why would you do- t-that?"
"I had to… But it's over now." Carver hushed.
"Can I… Can I have my clothes back now?" Clementine managed to ask through tears.
"No- you were hurt to pay the price of someone else's bad behavior. Your punishment is losing your clothes. You'll get them back when you've learned your lesson." Carver said.
"I'm sorry…" Clementine whimpered out.
"Sorry doesn't cut it. Sorry doesn't fix everything, Clementine. Sorry is an empty word with little meaning. I'm sorry for hurting you, honey, but that doesn't make things better, does it?"
It didn't… Clementine didn't respond to him she just curled up as she whimpered. "C-Can I go back to the pen now?"
"…No. You can't." Carver said. "You're tired, honey. Get some rest…"
Clementine didn't protest. She was in too much pain to want to stay awake.
Clementine woke alone in Carver's office. She could still feel the ache between her legs.
She stood carefully, realizing she was bleeding. She stumbled towards the door and attempted to open it. It was locked. The girl tried to figure out what to do, she started looking around the office for a weapon. Maybe a way out of here, she reached into the drawer and managed to spot a gun. The girl picked up the weapon.
She flinched when she heard someone coming up the stairs a moment later the door opened and Carver entered, carrying a bowl of what she assumed was rice.
"Oh, you're awake, honey. I brought you-"
Carver couldn't finish his sentence; the child aimed the gun towards him, and he glared at the small girl. "Now, now, Clementine don't do that."
"Shut up!" Clementine snapped. "Shut up or I'll shoot!"
"Are you sure, honey?" Carver taunted. "Go on then. Shoot me."
He stepped closer. Clementine couldn't help but tremble. "Stay back!"
"Shoot me, honey!"
The girl glared at him and pulled the trigger. The gun however clicked, and panic hit the child full force. Her breath picked up as she tried again. Carver approached her, placing the bowl on his desk before promptly slapping the child in the face. He snatched gun from her little hand and then pinned her to his desk, not even caring as the bowl of rice fell.
"You made a big mistake, honey… And I'm going to punish you for it."
Clementine felt dread course through her body. Dread was quickly replaced by pain as the man "punished" her. She struggled, but Carver didn't stop. He covered her mouth to keep her quiet, and eventually Clementine could do nothing more but sob.
Clementine wasn't broken. Carver noticed the child only became more disobedient and stubborn. She would fight against him, she would fight again his guards, and Carver was completely frustrated with her. He had tried to be "nice" but the more she disobeyed him the harder it was. He wanted to break her.
Feeling that he alone would not be able to break the girl, Carver spread the word to some of his more hardened guards of the young girl, telling how she killed Troy. How she threatened him, multiple times. And most importantly how she was small, naked, and defenseless- and fair game to anyone who wanted her.
That was enough to begin a cycle of misery for little Clementine. Carver played dumb when Bonnie or the other clueless guards would come to him to report on how people were harming Clementine. He would claim a punishment would be carried out, but they never would.
However, after the second time Bonnie came to him, after saving Clementine, Carver responded to her by saying, "Maybe the girl just wanted to have sex."
"S-She's a child, Bill. She doesn't know what she wants." Bonnie said.
"You don't know that, Bonnie. She hasn't complained, has she? Maybe she just wants it." Carver replied.
"But-But it's wrong… She's just a little girl, Bill. We can't allow this stuff to happen in our community. It's sick." Bonnie said.
"And I'll deal with the people who hurt her accordingly, but you should doubt that the girl could be the leading these men on." Carver said.
"Even if she is, it's wrong. She's a little girl, Bill. She's just a little girl." Bonnie said.
"No… She's much more than that." Carver replied. "So much more…"
Clementine hated this place. The cycle of abuse that she faced was becoming a constant thing. She would be raped by people, used by men some type of stress reliever or hormonal young men who wanted to use her as practice.
Clementine would do her best to fight against her predators, but it was to no avail. They always got what they wanted. At night she would be sent back to the pen. They had only been at the hardware store for about a week and she was already desperate to escape.
Carver made her keep up the façade that everything was fine when in the pen. After someone used her, she would be told to clean herself up and get back to work.
She hated it. But she knew if she said anything, Carver would punish her for it. Or worse, punish her group.
The more she worked, the more she realized how large the community was at Howes. And how many bad people lived there. Not everyone was bad.
Some of the guards were definitely unaware of what she was going through, the people who hurt her were normally sneaky about it anyway.
But Clementine couldn't for the life of her understand why any of the people in this community followed Carver. Did they truly think he was a "good man"? He definitely was not. She wondered if they would respond differently if they knew what was happening to her.
She wondered why she was put through this hell. Was it because she was the youngest, and smallest one in the community? Was it because she had no parents or guardian around to look out for her?
The main people who cared for her, she was consistently separated from. The only time she was ever allowed into the pen was to sleep, and she would be the first one woken out of everyone and dragged straight to Carver's office for a morning "talk".
If only they knew what kind of talking, he did. If only someone would save her.
"You're really used to this, huh?" Luke asked, realizing that Molly didn't seem to need a break from walking often.
"What?" Molly asked.
"Being on the road." Luke said.
"Yeah, my dad used to take my sister and I on trips… And… I've just always been into the outdoors." Molly shrugged.
"I never quite minded the outdoors myself. Family lived on a farm for a while." Luke said.
"I never minded it, but I would like to find a spot for Clementine to be comfortable for a while. She deserves it. I wish she could just be a kid for a while…" Molly said.
"Yeah, I feel you on that. Once we get them out of there, we'll find a place…" Luke said.
"Let's just get them out of there first." Molly replied.
"Yeah…"
"Clementine, what have I told you about kicking me?" Carver huffed, as he attempted to restrain the squirming child. "That's no way to thank me for making you feel good."
"I wouldn't kick, if you didn't touch me…" Clementine said. "Why don't you just give me my clothes back and leave me alone?"
"I don't think you want them back… You're not a very good little girl." Carver said. "You're naughty."
"Naughty?" Clementine furrowed her brows at the word.
"Very naughty. Which is why I'll have to punish you." Carver said.
The girl felt her heart drop. She didn't want to be punished again. "W-Why? I just want my clothes. I don't want to be hurt."
"If you don't want to be hurt, you have to be good. You do what I say when I say… Understood?" Carver said.
Clementine looked away, refusing to answer.
"You'll learn soon enough. And when you do, I might just give you your clothes back." Carver said.
"So you won't… You won't give them back…" Clementine frowned. "I'll never turn on my group… And I'll never stop fighting you!"
"We'll see about that, honey." Carver replied.
Clementine knew he wanted to break her. She couldn't let that happen. She didn't know how long they'd be trapped there, but she had to stay strong, until they escaped.
"Would it kill you to take a break?" Luke asked.
Molly didn't respond as she continued walking.
"Come on, Molly. Even the dog's tired at this point." Luke said.
"If you can't keep up, you'll get left behind." Molly grumbled.
"Don't say that, Molly. We're not splitting up. It's safer for both of us if we stick together." Luke said.
Sam whined a bit, and Luke gave him a light pet on the head.
"It's safer for all of us, I mean." Luke said.
"The only thing I care about is making sure my girl is okay." Molly said.
"I know… I know you're worried, Molly, but you can't just go alone. We've been walking all day… We have to stop…" Luke said. "We'll get there eventually."
"And by the time we do, it could be too late." Molly argued.
"Nothing's going to happen. Clementine's a tough cookie. She's fine, Molly." Luke tried to reassure the woman.
"She better be… She better be fine…" Molly sighed, finally giving in to Luke's pleas to take a break, she took a seat on a nearby log. "I'm sure she is."
Bonnie felt sick to her stomach. She looked to Clementine who was silently loading magazines much like before. The child just acted like nothing had happened to her. She couldn't help but think on Carver's words... "Clem…"
The child didn't react.
"Clem look at me. I need to ask you something." Bonnie said.
The child didn't listen to her.
"Clementine, please."
"What?" The girl finally asked, still refusing to meet her gaze.
"I-I… I know people tried doing bad stuff to you…" Bonnie said. "But… did you…" The woman trailed off not sure how to ask the question. "Did you want them to?"
Clementine finally looked to the woman in disbelief. "What kind of question is that? Why would I want people to do naughty stuff to me?"
Bonnie frowned at the girl's words. "I don't know… I just wanted to make sure… I don't think you sure be doing dirty things at such a young age. And Bill said-"
"Carver told you I want those naughty people to hurt me?!" Clementine inquired.
"N-No, that's not it, Clem." Bonnie said. "I just wanted to make sure you know, it's wrong… It would be disappointing if you were… trying to do that stuff."
Clementine glared at her then looked away again. "…Don't talk to me anymore."
"Clem…" Bonnie spoke with a deeper frown.
"Don't talk to me anymore!" Clementine snapped.
"I'm just trying to understand, Clem…"
Clementine remained quiet. She knew it didn't matter what she said. Bonnie would believe what she wanted to believe, and that would most likely be Carver's word over hers.
Bonnie frowned, "I just don't know what to believe anymore… After all the things you've done… Killing Troy, threatening people, including Carver… I don't know what to think…"
"Think what you want…" Clementine said. "It doesn't matter anyway."
"It matters to me, Clem. Please just talk to me." Bonnie said.
Clementine shook her head and resumed loading magazines. She was done talking. It didn't get her anywhere with these people. They didn't care about her, and they never would.
