That said, enjoy the chapter!

In this world of ours, on the planet earth that we call home, there are two dominant races.

The first of the races were the humans, who were self explanatory for most.

The second of the races are the beastmen.

The beastmen as a whole have lived on earth for the past 2 million years for as long as anyone could remember.

Beastmen were anthropomorphized beings that vary from different animal species. They have a unique ability that enables them to change into a human form, which helps the beastman hide their beast traits. Thus, it is easy for them to dwell among humans as long as they are careful not revert back to their beastman form.

Yet, tragically, despite the fact that the only difference that separates us from beastmen is how we live our lives, humans are notoriously cruel towards the beastmen. Violently so too.

Fortunately though, there was a place in the world where beastmen could live in peace and be themselves without the fear of discrimination hanging over them.

Anima City.

For the last 10 years, Anima City had been the dream of one beastman named Mayor Rose. Rose wanted to create Anima City to be what she had dreamed of it to be, a true home for all beastmen.

And for all stats and purposes, it lived up to its potential.

Granted no plan was perfect and there were issues here and there like everywhere else. But that's life so that's not really a big surprise. And the people couldn't really complain due to how the city offered them the chance to be themselves fully and freely.

However, recent changes had hit the city in the span of a short time in ways that most wouldn't really expect.

And it all began when a runaway tanuki found her way to Anima City.

Thus enter Michiru Kagemori.

See, In a world where both humans and beastmen exist, Michiru Kagemori a tanuki beastman traveled long and far towards Anima City. Though her journey to the city had not been easy. When she had neared Anima City, a group of beastman Hunters appeared and attacked her in an attempt to keep her from reaching the city. Thankfully she was saved by a shady mink beastman named Marie Itami, who helped the young tanuki to get the rest of the way to Anima City. Upon arriving, Michiru finds the city in the midst of a festival celebrating its tenth anniversary. Seeing all the beastmen happy and enjoying life finally seem to lift the tanuki's spirits after so long. Unfortunately during the celebration, and running into Marie again, her wallet gets stolen by a monkey beastman. While trying to track down the thief, Michiru gets caught up in a bombing, where she is saved by a wolf beastman who would change her life forever.

Shirou Ogami.

After saving Michiru, Shirou chases down the bombers that had sabotage the festival. He soon discovers that the bomb was planted by them because they were paid by anti-beastman humans to sabotage the festival. After discovering this, Shirou began to violently beat up the attackers before he is stopped by Michiru, who revealed a very large secret.

She revealed to the wolf Beastman that she had used to be a human. Yet for some reason, she couldn't explain how she and her friend Nazuna had ended up turning into beastmen.

Nazuna ended up getting taken away by some people in black suits and that was the last time Michuru ever saw of her. It wasn't long after that Michuru herself turned into a beastman during basketball practice one day. After she did, the young Tanuki spent months hiding in her house as a result.

She would've continued that lonely lifestyle, until she found out about Anima City. From there the rest was history. Michiru ended up going on many adventures with Shirou as she lived in the City of Anima.

With Shirou practically taking on the tole of being her older father figure as he made sure that Michiru didn't fall into any trouble.

Over the course of time, Michuru has learned much about the people of Anima City. She made new friends and experienced new things, while also starting to sort out certain issues in her life.

One day however, she met none other than Nazuna again!

Sadly that only seem to be the start of some seriously big trouble.

See, one thing Michuru had learned about the beastmen was that they had their own religion. A religion based upon an a legendary deity know as Ginrou, the Silver Wolf. The story of the Silver Wolf was one of Divine protection. Most describing Ginrou as a guardian of the beastmen who arrives to save them from the cruelty and evil that may befall upon them. However while some believed these legends, others had seen it as nothing but just that. A legend and nothing more.

So color everyone surprise on the day Nazuna arrived and she turned INTO the Silver Wolf!

See, during her absence it turned out that Nazuna had joined a cult that worshiped the Silver Wolf and became its matriarch. Mostly due to her ability to turn into a mock version of the deity.

I say mock because, as Michuru soon discovered after reuniting with her missing friend, that Nazuna was only pretending to be the Silver Wolf. Sort of a way to give the beastmen of Anima City and the world over a form of hope. Something to live for in the harsh times they lived in now.

Unfortunately this led to some conflicts between ideals between the two friends. And often than not, Michuru questioned if Nazuna was doing the right thing or not.

One day however, something happened that revealed some very startling truths to Michuru.

Specifically of a certain Wolf she had been living with since her arrival in Anima.

See, it was only after a certain event which Michiru learned that Shirou himself was none other then Ginrou, the Silver Wolf! A beastman made into an immortal God through the tragedy of the loss of his original home 1000 years ago. Shirou was once an ordinary wolf beastman who lived in the prosperous city of Nirvasyl. It was essentially a city that had both humans & beastmen coexisting together in peace and Harmony.

But then one day, humans attacked his home of Nirvasyl and destroyed it, killing all of the beastmen and in the end even him. But something happened as the blood of Shirou's fallen people poured into him and turned him into the immortal Silver Wolf, Ginrou. But after using his newfound power to claim his vengeance, Shirou failed to find the general of the army. Shirou soon understood how hallow revenge was, and from then on decided to used his power to protect the beastmen ever since.

That's also how the city of Anima got made, right when he rescued Mayor Rose from Nazi's in WWII when she was a little girl.

And from here however, another truth was revealed.

It was all revealed that when beastman experiences intense rage or are put under extreme stress, they transformed into giant monsters. Alan Sylvasta, head of the Sylvasta cooperation, revealed to Michiru and Shirou that the transformation that causes the beastmen to go wild was called Nirvasyl-Syndrome. It was a transformation that only occur when beastmen are either enraged or stressed out enough. This outbreak had also happened in Nirvasyl all those years ago when the humans came not to attack Shirou's old home, but to defend themselves from the beastmen when they had turned into a hoard of rampaging monsters that were completely blinded by savage rage and feral instincts. This disaster happened because the beastmen were not used to all living together as various species. Therefore the violence factor found in their DNA begins to become aggravated as a result until Nirvasyl-Syndrome is triggered.

And how did Alan know this you may be asking?

Because it was HIS ancestor that led that army all those years ago.

Now, Alan was trying to prevent this from happening all over again by making a drug that would prevent the disaster from occurring. A drug that would turn all beastmen into humans.

Unfortunately Shirou took this in rage, and believed that Alan was trying to destroy the beastmen. It soon led him to try and destroy the lab and in turn get into a fight with Michiru. It was later that the threat of being under arrest by the police suddenly loomed over his head, Shirou made his escape and disappeared for the next day or so.

Around that time, Michiru and Nazuna's fractured relationship blossomed back after some... truth bombs dropped on them.

Nazuna revealed to Michiru the plan that Alan had given her to help with saving the beastmen. To calm the beastmen down, Alan gave Nazuna the idea to tell the beastmen of the city that she was in fact a human. Which, in his words, would calm the beastmen down enough to get them to relax in hopes of preventing the risk of them turning into hulking monsters from Nirvasyl-Syndrome. But on the day of the concert, Shirou returned to stop it, and when Michiru confronted him on it as the concert played on, Shirou revealed why he tried to stop it.

The confession wouldn't stop Nirvasyl-Syndrome, it would CAUSE it!

Shirou explained that beastmen as a whole were naturally stubborn and more emotional than humans. As such, if they found out that someone they trusted was lying to them like Nazuna was doing right now, it would trigger the transformation from the stress and send every beastman in the entire city into a frenzy. And Alan had planned for that to happen from the very beginning.

That said, Michiru managed to convince Nazuna to change her announcement to the beastmen and stop the disaster from even happening. Or so it would seem, as out of nowhere the leader of the religion group (*cough* Cult!*cough*) Boris then revealed the truth to everyone. After he had revealed Nazuna's secret, all of the beastmen within Anima City began to transform into monsters and started to go on a rampage throughout the city. And even worst, Shirou's PTSD of his past kicked in during the chaos when he saw it. Thus turning him into a monster as well.

And when Michiru tried to stop him... he bit her.

But in doing so, and fortunately with Michiru being alright, Shirou changed back to his original self. The reason for that was because of the blood that flowed through the two girls' veins. It was discovered that Michiru and Nazuna's blood was apparently the cure for all of this mess. And so with their allies, they all did what they could as they enacted a plan that would save everyone within Anima City.

But Alan got in the way of the plan. So while Michiru was enacting a plan that would stop this disaster once and for all, while at the same time foil Alan's plan to destroy the beastmen, Shirou learned the shocking truth about Alan.

Alan was actually beastmen in disguise!

He was essentially what was called a pureblood beastman. He was also part of a group of beastmen who were secretly manipulating the world as a whole from the shadows, and desired to eliminate the "Mix breed" beastmen of the world. In fact, the intense racism from humans towards beastmen was caused by the Purebloods through years of manipulations on mankind.

And now Alan was trying to do what his ancestor did to Nirvasyl all those years ago.

Unfortunately for him however, in the end Shirou managed to best Alan in a one-on-one fight. And with Michiru's guidance, Shirou let loose a howl across Anima City that calmed the rampaging beastmen down. For it was discovered by Michiru that their first instinct upon hearing Shirou's howl was to answer back strangely enough.

In the end though, the beastmen and the city were saved and life returned to a state of normalcy for our heroes. The mayor even made a announcement that humans would be allowed in the city as well in the hope that humans and beastmen can learn to get along with one another.

All this took place 4 months ago.

But unaware to anyone within Anima City or even the world itself, life was about to change for everyone. And nothing would be the same, ever again.

The sounds of a basketball landing in the basketball hoop was continuous on the roof of the Beastman Co-op. In the makeshift court, Michiru was busy practicing while Shirou and Nazuna stood off to the side and watched. With every score she'd make, Nazuna would pass her another basketball so she could keep going, while Shirou collected the ones that bounced off the roof, while enjoying a moment out of the office.

Michiru was catching the basketball as it was passed back to her like it was second nature to her. The tanuki then took another shot and scored with ease. The smile on her face felt like it could never be wiped off. She caught the ball again before letting out a sigh. She then used the back of her hand to wiped away the sweat from her forehead.

"It feels so good to be back in shape!" exclaimed Michiru with a smile.

Nazuna giggled and nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, I remember when you could dribble circles around the entire enemy team."

The two shared a high-five as Shirou closed his eyes and leaned back against the railing to enjoy the sun.

Michiru took that moment to lean in close to her friend and whisper. "Hey, Nazuna, can I ask you something?"

"Hm?" Nazuna tilted her head a bit. "What?"

Michiru's face split into a smirk as she jabbed a thumb over at the wolf beastman. "Do you think Shirou would let us join him on one of his outings today?"

Nazuna rolled her eyes a bit and shook her head. "Knowing that grumpy wolf, he'd shoot you down in a heartbeat."

Shirou, not even opening his eyes, only smiled. "She's right, I would."

Michiru jumped a bit and turned to glower at him. "Oh, come on! Using your wolf ears to eavesdrop is cheating!"

"It's hardly eavesdropping when you're talking right in front of me." Shirou cracked open an eye with an amused smirk appearing on his face. "And besides, I thought you said you wanted to be away from the excitement for a while?"

"W-Well yeah, it's just..." Michiru blushed and rubbed the back of her head, only for the conversation to be cut off by the ringing of Shirou's phone.

Shirou's smirk vanished as he pulled out his cellphone and walked to the edge of the roof. "Mayor Rose?... Is that so?... Alright, I'm on my way." Hanging up, he turned to look at the two girls. "I have been called in for a job, so I need you two to behave while I'm gone."

"I behave!" Michiru shouts indignantly, which Nazuna just raises an eyebrow up in response.

"Right." Shirou deadpans as he rushes off, leaving the two alone on the roof as he bounds away in his wolf form.

Once he's gone, Michiru pouts and heads towards her roof top room with Nazuna following behind her. "And he runs off before I can finish."

Nazuna puts a hand on Michiru's shoulder and smiles. "You can tell him later. Come on, Melissa should have lunch ready soon."

"Yeah..." Michiru sighs and tosses the basketball onto her bed before heading downstairs.

Meanwhile, far out on the outskirts of Anima City. Past the docks and over the waters that separated the home of the beastmen from the mainland, the city was being observed by a rather unlikely newcomer.

Standing on a hillside was a man. He appeared to be in his mid twenties and wore a yellow sweater and blue pants. He had short black hair that was brushed to the side in the front, and light tanned skin. He wore a pair of work shoes that seemed to be meant for the outdoors as well as indoors. He also wore a white shirt underneath the yellow sweater and blue jeans.

Looking through his binoculars, he observed the city of Anima with a crucial eye. A train of thought going through his head as he lowered the binoculars down to reveal his dark brown, almost black eyes. He then pulled something out from his pocket, which seemed to be a strange device stylized in a way that made it look like a Geiger counter of sorts.

The man's brow furrowed when he gazed at the needle on the machine. It got about halfway up as the device started making beeping and crackling sounds when he pointed it in the direction of Anima City.

"So that's Anima City Huh?"

The man blinked in surprised when a voice interrupted his musings by asking that sudden question. He turned and was treated to the sight of another man around the same age as himself. The man had the same colored skin as the first man and his hair, while also black was more stylized in a wilder fashion. He wore a red short sleeved shirt with blue jeans, sneakers and had brown colored eyes.

"Oh, Hiroshi!," the man in the yellow sweater said as he addressed the man behind him. "Yeah that's definitely Anima City. Kind of hard to miss it since it's the Beastmen Capital of the world after all."

"Yeah no kidding. So hey, Goro, you picking up anything?" Hiroshi asked as he looked to the device in his friend's hand.

The now named Goro looked back to the device to check it again. He saw that it was still beeping and buzzing as he pointed it towards the city across the water.

"Looks like it. The energy readings we've been following definitely originate from there. Now all we have to do is get on a boat to get across the water."

"Great, sounds like a plan if nothing else. We need to get supplies anyway," Hiroshi said as he stretched a bit before his face developed a more solemn expression. "Still... we're really heading to the Beastmen Capital of the world huh? You sure now's a good time Goro? I mean what with the Nirvasyl-Syndrome incident that happened recently?"

"It'll be fine. All that happened about 4 months ago. Which is honestly long enough for things to calm down. And besides, we can take care of ourselves. Not to mention that we got Jet Jaguar to protect us if worse comes to worse too right?" Goro reassured as he tried to ease his friend's worries.

"Fair enough. Well in any case, let's head back to the van and get ready to get on the next boat over. Then after we set up shop, we'll get straight to work."

"Sure, let's head out."

And just like that, the two friends quickly headed back to their mode of transportation to get to Anima City as soon as possible. The two did not know what they'll find when they get into the city, but one way or another they will find something.

But whether that would be a good or bad thing...only time will tell.

Meanwhile, out on the docks of Anima City, something was going down.

Everywhere you look, police officers of the Anima City Police department were currently hard at work. The reason for that was because of what they had just discovered washed up out near the city's boundaries. The thing that they had discovered was a large cargo ship that had mysteriously floated near Anima City. Every officer available on the force we're currently getting ready to investigate the ship.

One officer in particular stood out the most amongst the various dog beastmen of the police force. In terms of appearance, he was a aged man possibly in his 40's that has a light tan complexion, large, dark gray mustache, and thick eyebrows. He wore a gray suit, a white collared shirt, mint turquoise tie, light olive overcoat, and a purple-gray newsboy cap. This was Yuji Tachiki. Head investigator and chief of the Anima City police department. He stood off to the side as he watched the officers set up the police vessel that would carry a chosen squad of volunteers to the cargo ship.

"Anything yet?" He asked as he turned to a radio operator.

Said operator fiddled with the short-come radio as he held a headphone up to his ear.

"Nothing sir. I've been trying to contact the crew for 15 minutes now and all I'm getting is radio silence." The officer replied with an unsatisfied frown.

A similar frown appeared on Tachiki's face as he looked back towards the vessel in the distance. He did not like the fact that no one on board was answering any calls from Anima City. With so many on board such a vessel you would think someone would answer.

So why weren't they answering?

"Something wrong?"

Startled, but only by a small amount, Tachiki turned to see none other than Shirou. Truthfully the wolf beastman's presence was a relief to the investigator.

"Honestly a lot of things with this case," Tachiki answered as he looked back at the cargo ship. "We've been trying to get a response from the cargo ship out there, but for some reason they're not answering. So we decided to send a group of volunteers to head out and board it."

Frowning a little, Shirou looked out at the vessel that was floating near Anima City. The wolf beastman's eyes narrowed slightly as he gazed at the cargo ship. There was something about the vessel that just didn't feel right to him. He may need to take a better method to see what was wrong before Tachiki's men headed out. he changed into his wolf form and started to put his nose to good use.

Out of all the beastmen within the police force, Shirou sense of small was a lot sharper. Yet unlike the others, he was able to see mental images of what kind of scents he was able to pick up within his head. In a way it act like a third eye of sorts for when Shirou needed to have a better "view" of something or someone. Especially when it came to tracking down criminals.

After changing into his wolf form, Shirou closed his eyes and took a deep breath through his nose to see what he can find on the cargo ship.

As he attempted to pinpoint the issue, a mental projection formed within his mind. He could "see" the various things from the ocean, until he began to see the images of what he believed to be the crew of the ship.

But something was wrong. When he inhaled their scents, he could barley make them out. In fact, the only smell he was getting now was...

DEATH.

Eyes shooting open, Shirou suddenly dashed forward at speeds that would make a race car jealous. And all the while startling the heck out of the officers as he ran past them. He quickly hopped into one of the small motorboats they were setting up, and suddenly took off towards the cargo ship in the distance.

"Ogami! Ogami hold on, wait!" Tachiki called out to him, but got no response from the wolf beastman as he continued out towards the vessel.

"Whoa, what got into him all of a sudden?" The radio operator asked as he watched Shirou disappear from view.

"I don't know. But knowing Ogami, he must have picked up something that isn't good," Tachiki answered with a grim tone before he turned to look at the other officers. "Get those men out there to go with him immediately. Something tells me there's more to this ship than meets the eye."

Nodding, the officers were quick to do just that as they all prepped and readied themselves and their boats to sail off after the wolf beastman as fast as possible. And hopefully in time to find out just what was going on.

Back with Shirou, after running the motor of his boat to the max and parking it next to the large vessel, the immortal waisted no time in immediately climbing on board the ship. But while doing so he was quick to take notice the state it was in, which suffice to say wasn't in good condition if one was to be honest. The entire thing looked like it went through some kind of class-5 hurricane, and everything up top on the main deck was bent and twisted as the sides are full of tears. Honestly it was a miracle that the ship was still afloat considering the shape it was in.

Regardless, with the stench of death still fresh on his nose he wasted no time in making his way inside to find the answers he was seeking.

And if you thought the outside was in rough shape, the inside was possibly even worst.

The whole hallway alone was torn and various items and lockers, along with who knows what else were spread all over the floor or imbedded through walls. And there were shards of broken glass in rooms that had windows. But the damage wasn't what Shirou was focusing on. Rather it was from one glaring detail that he had noticed since coming on board this ship.

"Where's the crew?" He couldn't help but mutter to himself.

Indeed, no matter where he looked as he walked through the torn hallways of the ship, he couldn't find a single member of the crew anywhere. Which was so bizarre since this vessel would at least need a hundred different crew members to keep it just afloat without crashing or anything.

So where was everyone?

He was soon about to get his answer. As he turned down a hall, he stopped when a particular sound reached his canine ears. Curious, he moved down the hall to see what seemed to be a communications room. Much like the rest of the ship it was completely wrecked. Albeit though the machines were still intact and even on. In fact, it looked like it was still receiving the message from the radio man back in Anima City. But that wasn't what caught Shirou's attention. Rather it was the man sitting in the chair, who remained completely unmoving even as Shirou came up behind him. Cautious as cautious can be, Shirou approached. Silently taking a whiff of the man as he came up behind him. And his brow furrowed when he smelled the man with his back turned to him on the chair. He smelled, for a lack of a better term, dry. So, he reached over and turned the chair to see the man's face. Shirou immediately pulled back in disgust and shock at the sight of the man, he was nothing but a shriveled up husk! Even his eyes were died up!

Like that, a dozen different thoughts ran through Shirou's head like cheetahs on a race track. And all of them were trying to put together a clear understanding of how something like this could happen to someone. Or what could even do 'THIS' to the man that sat within the chair before Shirou's eyes. Then, he noticed something on the man's torso. It was white and had a rather silky appearance, and seemingly looked oddly like some kind of webbing. Curious, Shirou leaned down and examined it... and it was indeed in fact some kind of webbing. However he didn't have much time to process how this was possible, as something immediately caught his attention soon after. It was a smell. A scent that was, if his nose was correct, belonging to something or someone that was alive!

Not wasting anytime, Shirou immediately dashed down the hallways and followed his nose to the source. Eventually reaching what looked to be some kind of sleeping quarters. And even more disturbing were more of the crew members that were present. All of them were covered in webbing and are dried up like bones in the desert sun. The sight of their dried up bodies only raised Shirou's warning senses even more to whatever did this was potentially still on the ship. But he still had another matter to attend to. He approached the room's locker, which stood on the far side of the room. He opened it up and found what, or rather who, he was looking for.

There, seemingly unconscious and holding onto a homemade spear in a death grip, was a young man, who looked to be about nineteen years old. Hair and body all messy and clothes torn in different areas. And by the looks of things he didn't seem like he would wake up anytime soon.

So, seeing how he needed answers and needed them now, Shirou decided to put his nose to good use again. He took in a deep breath and by calming his mind, he started looking through the man's memories. In his mind and through his nose he saw images. Silhouettes of this young man before him, Kenny if he was correct. They were sailing and they crashed somewhere because of a storm. They were working on getting free when something happen, Shirou couldn't tell, the scent wasn't strong enough. Most likely due to the rain and seawater washing it off long before the boat arrived. However, what he could make out was that the crew managed to get free and headed for the mainland.

But something went wrong. Before he knew it, the images of the crew changed and something else began to take their place. Something, for a lack of a better term, that wasn't human or beastman. And whatever it was, it was big, it was hungry... and currently sneaking up right behind him.

Just like that, with reflexes and strength that would be abnormal even for a beastman, who are known to be ten times stronger and faster than any human, Shirou suddenly whipped around and slammed his fist into his assailant with incredible force that sent them flying and crashing into a wall HARD. It was then Shirou got a good look of who, or rather WHAT, had just tried to attack him. And that is to say, it was nothing short of a monster.

The first thing that came to mind in the wolf's head was 'spider'. Because that's what this thing was, a monstrous spider! Easily larger than he was and legs long and thin, with a exoskeleton that had different sizes of spines pointing out of it. It's face was that of a pair of large fangs, and beady red eyes that would pierce your soul if they stared at you. And it's primary colors consisted of black and yellow.

The monstrous arachnid thrashed in place on it's back as it scurried to its feet. It then HISSED at Shirou as it stood back on its hind legs and pulled its front body up like that of a tarantula trying to make itself look bigger. A display of intimidation as some would call it. However Shirou wasn't the kind to be intimidated. No sooner did the monstrous arachnid jump at him, he immediately sidestepped the beast before slamming his elbow down its middle, and then gave a swift and powerful kick to its side, sending it flying once more.

However as Shirou made his move to go for the kill, the spider suddenly righted itself and spread its mandibles wide. And before he even knew it, a strong thread like rope shot out and suddenly expanded out as a net like web! Wrapping around Shirou and pinning him to the wall. The wolf beastman furiously attempting to claw and rip his way out of his bindings. But the spider proved to react faster as it jumped and spread itself over the wolf. It then open itself mandible mouth wide, ready to sink its fangs into the wolf beastman in a deadly bite!

SHINK!

Or it would have if not for the metal blade that was suddenly thrusted into its head.

Shirou's eyes widened in surprise at the completely unexpected turn of events. For a moment, the spider stood froze in shock before it let out an inhuman wail. It then started to thrash about as it tried to shake off whatever was on its head. As it did, Shirou was able to catch a glimpse of what, or more precisely who, was on on top of the spider's head. It was none other than Kenny. The young man gripped tightly to the pole of his homemade spear as the giant spider thrashed and bucked underneath him. This continued on for a minute or two before the spider finally threw Kenny off its back. The young man was sent flying before he landed hard upon the metal floor. He weakly let out a groan as the spider turned its sights on the young man and began to walk over to him. But that became its first and last mistake, for it gave Shirou enough time to rip through the threading that pinned him to the wall. Kenny laid on the ground and watched helplessly as the spider came to stand over him. Drool dripped down from the spider's mandibles as it hungerly glared down at Kenny. But just as it was about to go in for the killing blow.

SHINK!

The spider once again froze, but this time it wasn't in shock. When it had been distracted, Shirou had taken the chance to leap onto the spider's back and drive the spear deeper into its head. It let out a few broken clicks before its eyes slowly went dark, then the beast fell limp to the floor, dead as a door nail. Shirou let out a sigh of relief before he turned his attention towards Kenny, who was weakly staring up at him in amazement. Then, after a moment of staring at each other, Kenny finally let exhaustion claim him and he fell to the floor unconscious.

Shirou leaped down from the spider's dead body and walked over to Kenny. The wolf then knelt down and began to use his sense of smell to make sure that the young man didn't get any serious injuries. Luckily, the bones and ribs with in Kenny's body were all intact.

'He must had just passed out after using up his adrenaline,' thought Shirou as he looked down at the human before him.

A moment later, Shirou's sharp sense of hearing caught the sounds of footsteps coming his way.

"Hey, it came from over here-" sure enough an Anima City police officer called out before shutting his trap almost immediately when he got a glimpse of the giant spider that laid within the room before him. "W-what the hell..."

Shirou let out sigh of exhaustion before he spoke. "It's a long story."

Meanwhile, while this was happening, a certain group of individuals were halfway through the water territory to Anima City. Said group was none other than Goro and his companions, which were all busy with their own thing at the moment.

For Goro and Hiroshi, the two decided to preoccupy themselves on the ferry ride towards Anima by working on their groups van.

The van itself was stylized in a very unique way. It was red, and looked no different from a typical work van, however it was also something doubling as a family van as well. And to top off it's appearance, painted on the side of the van was the words "Ibuki Ind." on it.

Currently at the moment, Goro was head deep in the engine as he seemingly tinkered away on it. Hiroshi himself currently leaning against the side with a box of tools in hand.

"Ah I see the issue here," Goro said as he pulled out of the hood and held up what looked like a metallic tube of sorts in his hand, "the power cup link is burnt out. That's why the battery was fluctuating so much on the way down here."

"Yeah that figures. Good thing we found the issue before we arrived at the city, otherwise we'd probably end up stuck in the middle of a street or something," Hiroshi said, the man reaching into the toolbox before pulling out a wrench.

"Yeah tell me about it. Last thing we need is getting into trouble on our first day in Anima City. Personally I'd like to avoid that at all costs."

"Eheheheheh! Well here's hoping then!"

At that, the two turned to see a third newcomer. The person in question was a rather short elderly man who seemed to be in his 70's at best. He was no smaller than 4,2 feet and wore a red opened vest with a blue details on the front and a White T-shirt underneath. A pair of Wooden sandals, tan shorts, and a hachimaki headband wrapped around his balding head.

This was Otaki Ibuki. Goro's father.

"Oh, hey dad. Did you enjoy your nap?" Goro asked his father as the elderly man came up to them.

"Eeehh, about as much as I could," Otaki replied as he stretched a bit, "but good enough anyhow. But I didn't come to talk about my sleep, I came to ask if you've seen your brother anywhere."

"Oh, Rokuro? He's over there at the front of the ferry," Hiroshi said as he pointed to the front of the ship not to far off from where their van was parked.

Standing by the edge and looking out towards the city, the so called Rokuro was a rather young boy who looked no older than 8 or 9 years old. He had a mop of black hair on his head and dark brown eyes. He primarily wore a red short sleeved T-shirt, blue short pants, and a pair of child sneakers on his feet.

The young boy currently looked out towards Anima City with a sort of wonder in his eyes. Marveling at the sight as the ship sailed ever closer, so much so, he didn't notice Otaki coming up to him from behind.

"Enjoying the view there Rokuro?" The old man asked, startling Rokuro a bit as he jumped and turned.

"Oh, hey dad. Yeah I'm enjoying it," he confirmed as he turned back to look at Anima. "I've never been to a big city before. Or one with beastmen in it."

That seemed to get a bit of a chuckle out of Otaki as he looked to the city with a grin.

"Well you best get ready then for your first time in one. And this here's a special case since it's the city of the beastmen! We're possibly gonna be some of the first humans to step foot on it, and that's gonna be a treat kid!"

At that, Rokuro seemed to take that in for a moment before he realized something. "Hey dad? Why do the beastmen come here when they can go to any other city?"

"Well Rokuro, that's a sensitive topic for most to ask these days," Otaki said as his face suddenly turned serious. "If you want to know the simple answer, it's because of all those damn fools running around in this world, or just running it in general. Them and those damn Anti-Beastmen idiots always picking a fight with people who don't want to fight at all. If you ask me, the world would be better off without them."

"But why would they hurt beastmen if they haven't done anything to them?" Rokuro asked in honest confusion. Not fully understanding why those people would do that at all.

"Ah who knows. You're too young to understand, but a lot of stupid people are running around in the world. Those Anti-Beastmen people? They talk a big game, but they're just bullies all the same, the whole lot of them. They got nothing, so they pick on those who are undeserving of being picked on. It's always been that way, but since this city got built, at least the beastmen got someplace to properly call home now. And while we're there we're gonna show them that not all humans are ignorant idiots!"

He then turned back to Goro and Hiroshi with a broad grin on his face. "Ain't that right boys!"

Goro and Hiroshi could only pump their fists up in conformation with smiles on their faces. Otaki and Rokuro could only share a smile to each other as they turned their attention back onto Anima City.

The place they were gonna be calling home for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, back in Anima, we go now to the Sylvasta Medical Center.

Now, while the medical center was used by Alan back when he tried to eradicate the Beastmen four months ago, the research facility was still left to be operational due to how valuable it would be for what it should be intended for. And even now it was still reused as a research and development facility for many things, such as medical supplies for the people of Anima City.

Right now though in a research area of the medical center, a examination was underway due to what occurred in just recent events.

After Shirou and the expedition team come back from the vessel, Shirou gave his report with the other officers. He then quickly called Mayor Rose, while the ambulance and other police staff brought Kenny, and the monstrously big spider that tried to make a meal out of him, back to the Sylvasta Medical Center for examination.

Speaking of which, Shirou himself was with Mayor Rose as the two stood and watched from a examination room as the group of scientist poked and prodded away at the large spider they had on their operating table.

Not far off from them was Michiru. Said tanuki girl had came running when she heard the news of what happened at the docks, she immediately rushed over as fast as she could fly. Nazuna had said her farewells earlier, meaning she would have to give the fox a heads up of what was going on.

Right now though she was currently looking at the large spider monster with a disgusted expression on her face. Mostly because of the dissection that was being performed on it.

Who knew spiders had kidneys?

"Ugh, that's one image I'm not gonna forget soon..." the tanuki mumbled, feeling a bit green around the gills as the doctors continued their work. "So, you mind telling me how you almost got eaten by something out of an old Sci-fi movie?"

Ever stoic, and ignoring the last bit of the question, Shirou could only turn to her and say, "I don't know."

"Whoa hold on, what do you mean you don't know? Aren't you suppose to be the 1000 year old wolf god?" Michiru asked in an honest stupor. Finding it rather surprising that the wolf had no answer for the creature that laid before them.

"Michiru, need I remind you that while Shirou has indeed been around longer than most, it does not mean he knows everything. After all, even he didn't know of the knowledge of the Purebloods yes?" Mayor rose pointed out to her, earning a bit of a sheepish look from the Tanuki.

At that moment though, a ding went off alerting the three of them. And soon enough one of the doctors walked in. Looking very disgruntled all the while.

"We're you able to find anything?" Mayor rose asked.

"Well... I suppose you could say that, but I don't even know where to begin with this thing you brought back here to our lab Mister Ogami." The man said as he stepped over to a monitor, pulling up an image of the spider on it.

"Because, for all starts and purposes this thing shouldn't even exist. Especially considering it's, as utterly unbelievable as it sounds, a common house spider," he said. Much to everyone's disbelief. After short pause of silence, Michiru was the first one to speak up.

"What?! B-but that's impossible! How can THAT,"-she pointed to the thing back down in the lab-"be a ordinary spider?!"

"It surprised all of us as well miss Kagemori. But the fact remains that this creature is nothing short of a common spider. Albeit a very big one, yes, but an ordinary spider all the same."

"This is strange," spoke Mayor Rose as she turned to look back at the dead spider monster. "Never have I heard or seen ordinary house spiders grow this big before. Nor has there been any records of there ever being one growing to this size."

"Yes, this has also stumped us as well Mayor Rose," said the doctor said with a frown. "We're still looking in on what had caused this spider to grow to this immense size."

"And what about that human we brought into the hospital?" questioned Shirou with a frown. "What's his condition?"

"Luckily the man only had minor injuries," answered the doctor. "But he still hasn't woken up yet."

"I see," said Mayor Rose gentle. "Still, we would like to see this young man if possible."

"We have him up on the twelfth floor right now," spoke the doctor with a nod. "We have some of our nurses checking up on him once ever few hours to make sure that his vitals are stable."

"Then we'd better start going up to the twelfth floor then," said Shirou with a light frown upon his face.

Mayor Rose and the doctor looked at Shirou curiously before the mayor spoke.

"And why the sudden rush?"

"Because a certain tanuki decided to sneak away to go on ahead of us while we were distracted," answered Shirou flatly with light frown upon his face.

Mayor Rose and the doctor blinked before quickly noticing that Michiru wasn't standing in the hallway with them. The mayor let out a tired sigh while shaking her head slight.

"Always wandering off at the wrong time," said Mayor Rose gentle before she turned to look at the doctor again. "Would you mind showing us the way to the recovery room that the human is staying in?"

"Yes ma'am" replied the doctor with a nod.

With that, the trio began to make their way towards the elevators that will take them up to the twelfth floor.

With Michiru, we find her riding in one of the elevators up to the twelfth floor with a determined expression upon her face. After hearing about where Kenny was being held, she decided to go on ahead to see the human that had been brought into the hospital. Michiru tapped her right foot impatiently as she waited for the elevator to reach its destination.

'Why do elevators have to be so slow,' thought Michiru quietly to herself.

After what felt like hours to the young tanuki, the elevator had finally reached its destination. The elevator doors opened and Michiru stepped out into the hallway. She paused to stand in the middle of the hallway as a determined expression appeared on her face.

"Alright," said Michiru with a smile. "Now to find where that man is being kept."

She then began to look up and down the hallway before an anime sweat drop appeared on the side of her head. The young tanuki soon realized that she had no idea where Kenny's recovery room was. Michiru's shoulder's slumped slightly as a sheepish smile appeared on her face.

"Maybe I should have stuck around to hear which room he's staying in," muttered Michiru quietly to herself.

It was then that Michiru noticed a female nurse walking down the hallway towards her right. The young tanuki quickly ran towards the nurse and stopped right in front of her.

"Um...excuse me," spoke Michiru in a polite tone of voice.

The nurse, a little surprised to see Michiru, gave the Tanuki a friendly smile. "Yes?"

"Do you know where I can find the room that's housing the human that was brought in a few hours ago?" asked Michiru.

"Of course," replied the woman before pointing the the hallway that she had come down from. "Just go down this hall and take a right. You'll find him in room 4032."

"Okay, thank you," said Michiru before she took off down the hallway.

It didn't take long for Michiru to find the room that was holding Kenny. She now stood in front of the recovery room's door with a smile on her face.

"Alright," voiced Michiru with a smile. "Time to get some answers."

She then stretched her right hand forward and grasp the handle of the door. The young tanuki had just opened the door a crack when she heard a low moan come out of the room. Michiru frowned when she heard the moan before opening the door fully. She walked into the room before pausing when her eyes caught sight of Kenny. The man laid still on the bed with a grimace expression etched upon his face. Sweat dripped down from Kenny's face as his breathing slowly began to increase. Michiru gazed at the man in concern before she slowly walked over to the side of the hospital bed. She only got about two feet before Kenny started to speak in a low voice.

"N...no...it can't be...captain..."

Michiru frowned as she stared at Kenny in confusion. 'I wonder what he's talking about?'

She was then startled when Kenny started to shout out in fear and began to thrash around within the bed.

"We have to escape...a monster...it's a monster!"

Michiru jumped back slightly with a startled expression upon her face, but she quickly shook herself before running forward. The young Tanuki gripped Kenny's shoulders and began to firmly shake the man in hopes of waking him up from his nightmare.

"Hey, wake up!" shouted Michiru in a firm but gently voice.

But the man didn't seem to hear her and continued to scream at the top of his lungs, while thrashing about in the hospital bed. Yet despite his thrashing, Michiru still held a firm grip on his shoulders.

"Calm down, you're alright!" exclaimed Michiru as she tried to get through to Kenny. "You're just having a bad dream!"

After a minute or so, Kenny began to slowly calm down before he finally laid still on the bed. Then with great effort, Kenny slowly opened his eyes. At first his vision was a little blurry, but it soon cleared and the first thing he saw was the face of a Tanuki staring down at him. Kenny's eyes widened in fear before he let out a gasp mixed yelp. Michiru jumped back slightly at the sudden sound, while letting go of Kenny's shoulders in the process. She then held up her hands in hopes to show that she wasn't a threat.

"It's alright," spoke Michiru in a gentle voice. "I'm not going to hurt you or anything."

Kenny stared at Michiru in surprise before he slowly began to take in his surroundings. After a moment of silently looking around, he realized that he was in a hospital. He then looked back at Michiru with a light frown upon his face.

"W-where am I?" asked Kenny in a tight voice.

"You're in Anima City's hospital," answered Michiru in a gentle voice. "You were brought here by Shirou after he found you on the cargo ship that had drifted here to Anima City's shores."

Kenny looked at Michiru with a befuddled expression on his face before realization slowly crossover his face. His body slumped in exhaustion, while the back of his head sunk deeper into the pillow behind him.

"Yeah...now I remember," muttered Kenny in a tired voice.

Michiru slowly lowered her hands as she stared at the human for a moment before Shirou, Mayor Rose and the doctor walked into the room. Kenny looked at the three new comers in exhaustion.

"Well, looks like you're finally awake," said the doctor when he saw Kenny alert upon the bed.

"Y-yeah," replied Kenny in a tired voice.

"That's quite a surprise," spoke Mayor Rose as she gazed at man in front of her. "After your ordeal back on the ship, the doctors thought that you would be out for a few more days."

"Ordeal?" echoed Kenny in confusion.

That was when the memories of what had happened to him and his crew members came rushing into his head. When the did, Kenny couldn't help gripping at the sheets of the hospital bed.

"That's right...the crew is..." Kenny's voice broke as he tried to hold back a sob.

Michiru sadly gazed down at Kenny, while the adults quietly stared at the human in sympathy before Mayor Rose spoke.

"Would you mind telling us your name?"

After taking a second to calm himself down, Kenny finally spoke in a slightly shaky voice.

"My name is Ken Takahashi and I'm one of the crew members that worked on the cargo ship."

"I know you have gone through a lot, but could you tell us what exactly happened to you on the ship?" asked Mayor Rose in a gentle voice.

Kenny hesitated for a moment, but then he took in a calming breath before speaking.

"It's a long story. So I suggest that you all try to make yourselves comfortable."

The foursome did as he suggested. Michiru, Mayor Rose and the doctor all sat in chairs while Shirou leaned against the wall with his arms crossover his chest. Once they were all sorted, Kenny took in a deep breath before he began his story.

"It all started when we got caught in storm. One of the worst storms that we had ever seen and been through. We were trying to get back to the mainland, but the storm was proving to be too strong for us. We tried to use our radio to call the mainland for help, but the weather was interfering with the signal. We thought that our luck couldn't get any worse...until we collided with a land mass within the waters of the ocean. At first we thought that we had crashed into a stretch of rocks that surrounded an island. The captain of our ship ordered some of the men to push the ship off of the rocks before any damage could be done to it. That was when we discovered that it wasn't island rocks that we crashed into...it was something worse."

"What was it?" asked Michiru nervously.

Kenny didn't speak right away, but when he did it was in a voice that was tight with fear. "A creature that should only exist in a person's nightmares...a monster."

"A monster?" repeated Michiru with her eyes widening slightly.

"Yeah," said Kenny with a nod. "And I never thought I witness a monster as large as the one that I saw. It was almost as large as a one of the buildings within Tokyo. Maybe even larger."

Shirou, Mayor Rose and the doctor frowned as they shared a look with each other. As for Michiru, she was feeling a little unsettled by what Kenny was telling her. A monster that was as large as a building? Something like that existing shouldn't be possible. Mayor Rose turned to look at Kenny again before she spoke.

"Are you able to tell us more on what this creature looks like?" she asked.

"I'm afraid not," replied Kenny. "It was pretty dark and the storm blotted out most of the monster's features. All I can tell you is that it had spines on its back, and it looked as if it was standing on two legs. Along with a reptilian head. The rest of the monster's features were completely blotted out within the darkness of both the night and the storm."

"I see," spoke Mayor Rose with a frown. "Then what happened?"

Kenny frowned as he went into thought before he answered Mayor Rose's question.

"Luckily we were able to get the ship free before the spines on the monster's back could cause any serious damage. Then things became blurry after that. I don't really remember much of the details, but I figured I must have bumped my head on something. Because when I woke up, I found myself laying on the floor and staring up at the ceiling. A while later after the crew made sure that I wasn't injured, the captain drove the ship to an island that was uninhabited. We thought that it would have been a good place to stop and take a look at the shape the ship was in. Luckily we didn't see any major damages so we decided to continue on our way back to Japan. Yet what we didn't know at the time was that something had snuck on board the ship when we were preoccupied. Then just as we were half way back to Japan, one of our crew members noticed these...strange white silk strands. These threads were strange and we don't know where they came from. But that was when things turned chaotic."

Kenny paused as his face scrunched up when the memory of what had happened on the ship began to emerge from within the depths of his mind. As they did, a single tear rolled down from the corner of his eye. The foursome silently watched Kenny for a moment before the man continued on with his story.

"It started with the captain. When one of the crew members went to talk with him, they discovered his withered corps in his cabin. Then one by one the other crew members were met with the same fate. We grew fearful to what was happening within the ship and we decided to try and contact the mainland in hopes of rescue. But unfortunately we weren't able to get out a signal in time for we were suddenly ambushed by that spider monster. It took out the rest of the crew members, until I was the only survivor. I winded up hiding hiding in one of the lockers of the sleeping quarters with the spear that I made to help defend myself. After that...I fell unconscious and when I woke up again I saw a wolf beastman fighting against the spider monster."

"I see," voiced Mayor Rose solemnly. "Thank you for telling us about what happened. And I'm sorry for the lose of your crew members."

Kenny glanced at Mayor Rose before speaking. "Thanks... hopefully I was able to tell you all you need to know."

Mayor Rose gave Kenny a reassuring smile before she spoke once again. "I think it's best that you stay here in Anima City's hospital until you're fully recover."

Kenny only nodded before letting out a tired sigh as he sunk down into his pillow. He then closed his eyes as exhaustion once again claimed him. The foursome quietly walked out of the recovery room and into the hallway. The doctor gently closed the door behind him before he turned to look at Mayor Rose, Shirou and Michiru.

"It will take a while for Mr. Takahashi to regain his strength," spoke the doctor to the trio. "We'll make sure to keep an eye on his condition though, and tell you if something comes up."

"Alright, thank you," said Mayor Rose with a nod.

The doctor bowed before he turned and walked down the hallway. After he turned around the corner, Mayor Rose turned to look at Shirou in concern.

"What do you think of Mr. Takahashi's story Ogami?" asked Mayor Rose in a serious voice.

"I'm not sure," answered Shirou in a serious voice. "But after battling that spider monster on the ship, I can't help thinking that the human's story might be true. And if it is, then it could be possible that there could be something dangerous out there that might threaten Anima City."

"Yes," voiced Mayor Rose with a nod. "And if that is the case, then we need to keep our wits about us."

Shirou nodded before he noticed Michiru's silence. He turned to look down at the young tanuki that stood beside him, and saw that she had a worried expression upon her face. The wolf beastman frowned slightly before speaking to the tanuki girl.

"Michiru?"

At the call of her name, Michiru blinked before looking up at Shirou in confusion. "Uh...yes?"

"What do you think of that human's story?" questioned Shirou in a neutral voice.

Michiru frowned as she thought over the story that Kenny had just told them before she answered. "Well...I'm not really sure, but when he mentioned the monster that he and the crew had encountered out there in the ocean. I can't help but feel like something really bad is going to happen."

Shirou looked down at Michiru in concern before resting a reassuring hand on her right shoulder. Mayor Rose also gazed at Michiru before speaking again to the young tanuki and Shirou.

"I'll continued to look into what exactly had caused that spider to grow to that sized. You two can head back to the Co-op and take it easy for the day."

Michiru nodded her head, while Shirou glanced back at Mayor Rose with a serious expression on his face.

"Call if you discovered something," said Shirou.

Mayor Rose nodded before Shirou and Michiru headed towards the elevators of the hospital. As they did, the two of them both lapsed into silence as Kenny's story continued to float around within their heads. The both of them wondering what kind of looming threat was out there that could destroy Anima City.

Within the downtown sector of Anima City, we find Goro and his team had arrived safely to the city. They had managed to park their van in a parking zone that stood near the street. They were standing on the sidewalk together as they hovered over a small device that Otaki held in his hands. It was the same device that Goro had held before they all entered the beastman capital.

"Anything on the scanner dad?" asked Goro curiously.

Otaki didn't respond right away as he was more focused on moving the scanner around. After a moment, he finally answered Goro's question in an annoyed voice.

"It's pretty faint. So I can't really pin-point where the energy signal is coming from."

"Man," groaned Hiroshi as he rested his hands behind his head. "We finally got here to Anima City to find out where that strange energy signal is, and your little doodad can't pick up a single blip."

Otaki turned to glare at Hiroshi. "Oh be quiet! It's just going to take some time before we can figure out where the energy source is located!"

Hiroshi gave Goro's father a deadpanned expression. "Yeah, and when will that be?"

"Alright you two, calm down," spoke Goro as he tried to keep his father and friend from fighting with each other. "How about we try and find a place to set up shop?"

"Where do you think we should look big brother?" asked Rokuro curiously.

Goro frowned as he went into thought before replying. "Well, we should ask some of the people around this area. Hopefully they'll be able to tell us where we can find a some shops that are on sale."

"Do you think anyone will be willing to talk to us?" questioned Hiroshi with an unsure expression upon his face.

"Well there's only one way to find out," said Otaki as he tucked the scanner into his jacket pocket. "So let's stopped flapping our gums and start asking around."

With that, the group began to walk away from their vehicle. But as they were walking away, they failed to notice a group of twelve beastmen hiding in a nearby alleyway across the street. The gang watched as Goro and his group turned a corner, and disappeared from their sight.

"Alright, they're gone," spoke the leader of the group.

"About time," spoke one of the beastmen within the group. "I thought those humans would never leave."

"You're telling me," grumbled another gang member. "Just what the hell are those humans doing here in our city?"

"Don't know," replied the leader before he turned his attention back onto the van. "But whoever they are, they might have brought something interesting items them inside that van of theirs."

"If that's the case, then why don't we take a peak inside," said the first member with a smirk.

The leader and the rest of the gang also smirked before they started making their way towards the van. They quickly looked around to make sure that nobody was watching before the leader ordered two of his men to keep watch. One of the leader's group members then walked forward, and began to pick the lock on the side door of the van. It took a moment before they heard the lock on the door click open.

"And we're in," voiced the one who picked the lock.

"Good," said the leader with a smirk. "Now...let's see what's inside this van."

The leader then slowly opened the van's door. When he did, all he could see was darkness, but then two dark blue eyes suddenly flashed from inside the vehicle. Then before the leader could say anything, a metallic fist flew out from the darkness and punched him in the face. The force of the punch sent the leader flying across the street.

"What the..." spoke one of the men in surprise.

The group then turned to look towards the van again. When they did, a figure stepped out from inside the shadows of the vehicle before the light of the sun revealed their features to the group.

Standing before the group was a six foot tall humanoid being made of metal. On top of the being's head was a tall metallic fin, while its face was strange as its mouth had more of grill shape with a permanent smile on it. It had a blue collar around its neck with blue circling around its elbows and blue on the top half of its boots. There were also markings of red and yellow on the top and lower half of its body. The yellow markings sat on the beings shoulders, lower body and around its knees, while the red marking sat on its chest and on the hips of the being. The rest of its body was covered in silver metal along with its face. The being's body looked to be slightly muscular, but also streamed lined as its structure seemed to be built for fighting. It glare at the beastmen gang with its glowing blue eyes.

"Who the hell is this guy?" voiced one of men in confusion.

"Who care!" shouted another as they shifted into his beastman form, which was a Tasmanian Devil. "Let's take him out!"

The other group members followed their team member's lead as they shifted into their beastmen forms. They then charged forward towards the metallic being. The being quickly got into a fighting stance before it grabbed one of the beastmen and flipped him over its shoulder. The beastman crashed into the pavement with a grunt, before another beastman tried his luck in subduing the being that punched their leader. The metal being responded by kicking its attacker in the gut, which sent the beastman flying and crashing into the side of another nearby van. This continued on like this as the beastmen kept on attacking the being that easily fought them off. The being kicked and punched the group of beastmen that attacked it, but despite the beating the beastmen gang wasn't about to back down from the fight. The leader, who had regained his wits, also joined in the fight against the metal being.

With Goro and his group, they had only gone a few blocks down the street, when they suddenly heard the faint sound of commotion from where they had left the van. They all turned to look back the way they had come with confused expressions upon their faces.

"What the hell?" voiced Hiroshi with a frown upon his face.

"Good grief," muttered Otaki in annoyance. "We only left for a few minutes and already he's causing a scene."

"We'd best head back and see what's going on," said Goro with a serious expression upon his face.

The group nodded before they began to run back to the van.

Back at the van, the metal being continued to battle against the beastmen gang that out numbered it. Yet the fight would soon come to an end with the beastmen gang when the sound of sirens was suddenly heard coming towards them. The leader, his gang members and the metal being all stopped when they heard the sound before the leader, who was a beastman crocodile, spoke.

"Shit, it's the police."

"Let's get out of here!" exclaimed a magpie beastmen.

The gang didn't need to be told twice as they quickly began to hightail it, while the metal being watched them in confusion. But it then turned its attention around to see a police car speeding down the streets. The car quickly came to halt before two police officers stepped out, and shifted into their dog beastmen forms. They quickly pulled out their handguns and pointed them at the metal being which caused it to tense.

"Alright you, put your hands behind your head and lower yourself to the ground!" ordered a German Shepherd beastman.

The metal being only stood still as it glared at the two police man in confusion.

"You deaf or something?" questioned a Doberman with a growl. "Do what my partner said, or else we'll do this the hard way!"

"Hold it!"

The two beastmen blinked in surprise and turned their heads to see Otaki, Goro, Rokuro and Hiroshi running towards them. Otaki ran ahead of the group, before sliding to a halt to stand between the metal being and the two police beastmen.

"You young whipper-snappers put those guns away right now!" exclaimed Otaki in an angry voice.

"Please move out of the way sir," spoke the German Shepherd beastman in a firm voice. "We have caught this being fighting a group of beastmen."

"Please Mr. Officer, I'm sure our friend had a very good reason," spoke Rokuro in a pleading voice.

"My little brother's right," spoke Goro as he, Rokuro and Hiroshi walked up to stand beside the metal being and Otaki. "Our group member would not attack anyone without a good reason."

The Doberman beastman narrowed his eyes at the group before speaking. "So you're saying that this metal being is part of your group?"

"Actually, he's a robot," said Hiroshi as he corrected the police beastman.

"A robot?" echoed the German Shepherd beastman as his face took on a serious expression. "Are you telling us that you made that thing?"

"Uh...you could say that," replied Hiroshi in an uncomfortable voice.

"But he's not dangerous," said Goro when he saw the two beastmen tensing. "He wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone unless they provoked him."

"My son's right!" exclaimed Otaki in a firm voice. "Besides, Jet Jaguar was supposed to protect our van incase anyone tried to steal anything from it! So shouldn't you be going after the group that tried to rob us?"

The two beastmen glared at the group for a moment before the Doberman spoke. "You four are humans, correct?"

The group blinked, glanced at each other in confusion, then turned to look back at the two beastmen again before Goro replied.

"Um...yes we are. We just came here to Anima City a few hours ago."

The two beastmen glanced at each other before they shifted back into their human forms. They then put away their guns before the German Shepherd spoke again.

"Then I'm afraid that you four and your robot friend will have to come with us."

"Huh...why!?" shouted Hiroshi in confusion.

"Because we need to know your background, and confirm that you all are not a threat to Anima City," replied the Doberman in a firm voice. "We've had enough trouble with humans sneaking into our city and causing trouble."

"But I thought humans were welcomed into Anima City now," spoke Goro as he looked between the two beastmen.

"Yes, but when humans do come into Anima City, they have to go through evaluation first," explained the German Shepherd beastman. "Also, we can't just believe on your word alone that this robot isn't a danger to our city. Not after seeing how your...friend, had been able to take on all a group of twelve beastmen by itself."

"Oh come on!" exclaimed Hiroshi in frustration, "We told you that he's not..."

"We'll go with you," interrupted Goro.

Hiroshi blinked and looked at his friend in confusion before Goro whispered to him. "Let's just go with them for now. Hopefully we can show them that they can trust us, while making sure that we keep what we're really doing here a secret."

Hiroshi frowned in displeasure, but nodded his head in agreement to his friend's plan. Goro also look over at his father and little brother, who both nodded their heads as well. So, without much resistance, Goro and his group went with the police to Anima City's police department.

To be continued
