One week after surgery, and Callie was finally going back to school. She was still camped out in the living room, but her moms were finally allowing her to go up and down the stairs some.

She woke up at around 7, and went up the stairs to her and Mariana's room to get dressed and ready.

"Hey." Callie said as she saw Mariana standing at her closet. "Hi." Mariana replied.

Callie didn't know what to wear. With the brace, she couldn't possibly wear leggings or jeans, so her only option was sweatpants, which she didn't really want to wear.

"Wear these with that cute purple zip up." Mariana said, tossing her a pair of sweatpants. "Thanks." Callie replied.

She managed to change in a few minutes, and though the outfit wasn't what she would always wear, it worked for now.

Callie got ready in the bathroom before slowly making her way downstairs and into the kitchen, where the rest of the family was.

"Here, kiddo. Eat up, everyone. Leaving in 10." Stef said, sliding a plate of food in front of callie. She dug in.

Soon enough, Lena and the kids were in the car on the way. Callie got to sit in the front since she had more leg room.

"Welcome back." Wyatt, one of Callie's only friend at Anchor Beach said with a smile as he slowed his pace to match hers.

"Thanks." Callie replied, smiling. "How ya feeling?" Wyatt asked as they walked to class. "Fine. A little sore but I'm glad to be back."

"Really? I wouldn't be. This week without you have sucked." Wyatt admitted.

Callie smiled and blushed slightly. She'd never really had a boyfriend before, but Wyatt was definitely the closest she'd ever with a boy.

"Do you want to come over my place after school?" Wyatt asked suddenly as they took their seats in class. "Um, I'd have to ask my- Stef and Lena first." Callie answered.

"Okay." Wyatt smiled. Callie took out her phone and quickly texted Stef and Lena before Timothy started class.

"Callie just asked if she could go over a kid named Wyatt's house." Stef said as she walked into the kitchen to have lunch with her wife.

"Oh, really?" Lena asked, surprised. She'd seen the two talking in the hall, but she didn't know they were that close.

"Yeah, she just texted us. I don't know if it's a good idea." Stef replied. "Why?" Lena questioned. "I don't know. We don't-we don't know this boy. Should she even have a boyfriend? I mean-"

"Slow down, mama bear. First of all, Callie is 16. Mariana started 'dating' when she was 12. Second of all, I don't even know if they're together. All I know is that he walks her to class a lot and they're good friends." Lena interrupted.

"Hm," Stef grumbled. "Maybe he can come here instead. I'd like to meet him before she goes over there."

"Okay, then just tell her that." Lena replied with an amused smile. Stef texted Callie back and looked to her wife.

"My babies are getting old." She said with a sigh.

Wyatt agreed to come over to the Adams-Foster house instead of his own, so about an hour after school got out, he showed up at the house.

Callie crutched up to the door and opened it. "Hey." Wyatt said, flashing a big smile at her. "Hi." Callie replied as he stepped in.

"Hi Wyatt, welcome." Lena said warmly as she saw him and Callie enter the kitchen. "Hi, Mrs Adams Foster." Wyatt answered.

"Lena, please. Uh Wyatt, this is my wife, Stef." Lena introduced as the cop entered the room. "Nice to meet you." The boy said kindly.

"You too." Stef said coldly, eyeing him sharply. Callie gave her a pointed look that said 'be nice'.

"We're just gonna go upstairs and study." Callie said. "Ah, you can stay down here in the living room." Stef said firmly. "Stef-"

"Callie."

"Fine."

Wyatt and Callie went into the living room and sat on the couch next to each other. "Sorry about them. They can be a little...well, Stef can be a little overprotective." Callie said.

"Don't worry about it, they're cool. I wish my folks were like that." Wyatt admitted. "They're definitely different from other foster parents I've had." Callie said honestly.

"How long do you have crutches for?" Wyatt asked curiously, changing the subject. "I don't know. Probably a few weeks at the very least." Callie explained.

"How did you tear whatever you tore?" He asked. "Um..." Callie trailed off. Did she want to be honest and open with him?

"You don't have to tell me if it's too personal. I was just wondering." Wyatt said quickly. "No, it's okay. Some of the other foster homes just weren't nice." Callie replied simply.

"I'm sorry." Wyatt said softly, reaching down and grabbing her hand. "Me too." She replied, linking her fingers with his.

At around 6, Wyatt left and Callie joined the family dinner. "So, did the hair model finally leave?" Jesus asked with a smirk.

"Funny." Callie replied, rolling her eyes playfully. "Wyatt's a very nice boy." Lena said supportively. "I can't believe you have a boyfriend before me." Mariana grumbled.

"He's not my boyfriend." Callie said quickly. "Oh yeah? So friends hold hands?" Jude stepped in, having seen the whole thing from a far.

Callie blushed. "Shut up and eat your dinner." She said, cheeks pink.
