Within the world of the Miracle Box, the kwamis still danced and celebrated their gathering as the floor stopped rotating piece by piece.
"My friends, the time has come." Sass called out, signaling for all kwamis to go to their own spot, "Fellow kwamis, tonight, as you know, we have a special opportunity to create a connection with Nooroo. But we must put our voices together in order to achieve this. Kwamis, sing!"
The little magical creatures began to sing, sending their power out of the box into the mystical realm.
Outside, Marinette is running, and people are screaming everywhere. One man was being chased by garbage bins while a woman was being chased by a crocodile.
"Stop! In the name of the law." Officer Roger yelled as he ran from a horde of heavily armored SWAT units.
"You should have told us, Marinette! We're your friends!" The nightmare versions of Adrien and Ella still chased the blunette as she ran for Master Fu's place- she needed Tikki!
Adrien ran around his room, but wherever he went, iron bars appeared in front of him, closing him in slowly.
"Ella! Nathalie! Father! Can anybody hear me?!" He cried, his voice cracking in despair.
Ella pinned her hands over her ears, blocking out the words Adrien spoke as she curled into a tighter ball. She had locked herself in her bathroom, hiding far away from the door as the blond spilled his feelings about her through the thick wood. She could barely hear him anymore over her sobs and her heavy beating heart; she felt like she was going to die!
The noirette clung to her body, the only knowledge that she was still alive and here. She knew this had to be an akuma- there was no way the real Adrien would suddenly say this! Especially after giving her a ring!
Pushing herself to her feet, Ella stood shakily a moment before moving towards the bathroom door. She yanked it open, coming face to face with the nightmarish version of her boyfriend.
"You know I don't love-"
"Get. Out. Of. My. Way." Ella seethed through her teeth and tears. She refused to believe this was real, and if it was, well then Adrien was gonna get his ass kicked for the callous way he was going about it.
The blond nightmare stared at her for a moment before actually moving from her path, the noirette pushing roughly past him out the door and into the foyer. Grey eyes darted up to the closed door at the top of the steps but Ella shook her head and ran out the front door. If that was the real Adrien, she didn't wanna chance it before taking out this akuma. She would rather make sure Hawk Moth was just being a cruel human being before even starting to think her boyfriend actually didn't want anything to do with her.
"If we get a hold of you, Hawk Moth, I can promise there will be consequences for all this pain..."
In the Miracle Box, the kwamis continued their singing. But it wasn't working.
Plagg looked fearfully at Tikki, who reciprocated the concern.
"We won't make it, Sass." Tikki cried, moving over to Sass.
"We are missing a few kwamis. We need the peafowl. We've not heard from her in such a long time, now!"
"What if we brought Kiismet in?" Plagg suggested, turning already to go get his love.
"We won't have another opportunity to contact Nooroo until his next birthday. Go get her!"
Plagg zoomed up and out of the phonograph cone, finding Kiismet "pacing" through the air. The little bird was wringing her paws while her eyes kept moving between the open window and Master Fu, still fast asleep.
"Tweety-bird! We need you in there!"
"No way, Plagg. I have to stand guard. There's something going on outside and I'm getting worried."
"But this could be our only chance of finding Nooroo... and Hawk Moth! Don't you wanna make him pay for everything he's put your holder through?"
Kiismet bit her bottom lip, eyes moving once again between Master Fu, the window and Plagg. She looked ready to say no again, but Plagg stuck out his own bottom lip and gave his love his best pouty eyes; she couldn't resist even after thousands of years.
"Ugh Plagg, no! Not the kitten eyes!" Kiismet whined, turning away from her love, but Plagg repositioned himself to be in front, his eyes going wider by the second. The raven kwami groaned, trying to keep her gaze anywhere but on Plagg, but the incessant poking and whining finally have Kiismet giving in.
"Okay, okay, okay! Let's go! The sooner we get this done, the sooner I can get by to my holder!"
Plagg smirked wide and grabbed Kiismet's paw, reentering the Miracle Box. Kiismet ignored the waves and stares of the other kwamis and took her place in the circle, while the singing began again. The circle they were floating on changed colors from pink to blue, starting at the outside and moving inwards. As the blue reached the centre, a blue shockwave-ring shot out. A ball of energy formed in the centre and shortly after, a beam of energy shot upward.
Marinette panted as she opened the door to Master Fu's shop, trying to keep quiet. She snuck over to the phonograph and pressed her thumbs to the dragon heads. Their eyes lit up and the code pad appeared. Marinette paled.
"The code... What's the code?" She began to panic, her whispered freak out moved from the little gold buttons to the cone at her eye level.
"Tikki! Can you hear me? Tikki?!" She whisper-yelled down the funnel, hoping to call her kwami up. But after the Sandboy glided over the home, she gulped and turned to the old man on the futon.
"Master, Master, wake up!" She shook Master Fu awake, biting her lip as he came to.
"Huh... Marinette?!" As the man took in the situation, the now visible sleeping sand fell around him, "Wha... what-a..."
"Quick, Master. Don't stay here." She quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him to stand, moving to the door to escape. But three what could only be described as bedsheets over balls intercepted the two and began speaking.
"Fu! We are the ghosts of The Order of The Guardians of The Miraculous. You caused our downfall and lost two Miraculous!"
"It was not my fault. I did not do it on purpose." Master Fu cried, backing away from the "ghosts".
"Yes, it was your fault. Your fault. Your fault! Your fault!"
"Marinette, transform!" Master Fu yelled as he hid in the corner behind a small bench chair.
"I can't, Master. Tikki is inside the Miracle Box!" Marinette explained, trying to swat the ghosts away with a pillow. Abruptly, the door panels were kicked in, revealing that the blunette's nightmare had caught up with her.
"You should have trusted us, Marinette! You should have told us you were Ladybug!" Nightmare Adrien and Ella yelled into the apartment, working their way in.
"This is disastrous, Marinette. There's no way of communicating with the kwamis when they are in their magic world." Marinette whimpered, scooting away from the door.
"Help me! Father! ELLA!"
Ella panted as she ran back inside the manor; the craziness outside proved that everything was because of an akuma. And now she had to make sure Adrien was okay. She ran past the open door to her room, regaining the attention of the nightmare blond sadly, and as she ran up the stairs, he moved to follow her.
"Adrien!" She screamed, pounding on the door and pulling at the handle. "Adrien! Can you hear me?! Adrien!"
In Hawk Moth's lair, said man was standing there, being creepy as usual. He watched the chaos play out in the streets of Paris and couldn't help the confusion welling up inside him.
"Sandboy is turning Paris into one huge nightmare... and yet there's no sign of Ladybug, Raven's Wing or Cat Noir. What is going on?!"
All of a sudden, Hawk Moth wasn't seeing Paris or his secret lair. He could see a whole bunch of kwamis in some sort of lit up space, and they were all singing...
"Nooroo! Nooroo! Nooroo! Nooroo! Nooroo!"
"Argh! What is that?!"
The kwamis continued their singing, realizing they had gotten through! But...
"That's not Nooroo!" Tikki cried.
"It's Hawk Moth!" Plagg realized, causing all the kwamis to gasp in horror.
"Keep singing! We must try to find out where he's hiding!" Stompp yelled.
"No! We need to stop! We can't risk anything!" Kiismet cried, zooming backwards out of the circle.
"A-ha! It's me who's going to find you, little kwamis! And I will make you my slaves, just like Nooroo!"
The originally white beam of energy became purple, starting from the top. The kwamis screamed, weakening as they covered their ears.
"His will is so powerful!"
"We must cut off all communication! Hawk Moth is trying to track us down!"
All the kwamis minus Kiismet spread their arms, causing the purple beam of energy to shrink and then explode, vanishing from sight.
"Hey, wait. The reason we can't speak to Nooroo is because he's powering Hawk Moth right now. Which means Hawk Moth's probably akumatized someone!" Wayzz realized, his big green eyes moving around to three kwamis in particular.
"And since Plagg, Kiismet and Tikki are here with us..."
"I need to find her!" Kiismet screamed, zooming up and out of the kwami's world.
"Ladybug, Raven's Wing and Cat Noir aren't able to transform." Kaalki exclaimed, causing Plagg and Tikki to gasp, "Go and find your owners right away!" Tikki, Plagg and Wayzz quickly flew out of the Miracle Box after Kiismet.
~"They're making a serious mistake. I just felt the kwamis somewhere on the right bank of the Seine. Find them! Capture them!"~
"Yes, Hawk Moth."
Kiismet zoomed above the streets of Paris faster than the human eye could see with the dark background. She kept an eye out for the akuma but didn't change her course for the Agreste manor. She phased through the walls and only then halted, eyes scanning for her holder. It took but seconds to spot the girl; she was pounding on Adrien's door while someone who looked shockingly like the teen stood behind her.
"Ella!" The kwami called, gaining her holder's attention. Grey eyes darted between the kwami and the door, before she turned and ran down the stairs, meeting the kwami halfway down.
"Kiisy!"
"I'm so sorry I left you, Ella! I'm never doing that again! We need to transform quick!"
"Got it! Kiismet, touch the sky!"
"Tikki, spots on!"
"Plagg, claws out!"
On the Parisian streets, people were still running and screaming everywhere. Cat landed on a roof and watched the chaos below. "What is this mess?" He couldn't help but comment as he took in the craziness on the streets, when two thuds landed to his right. He startled, jumping to his left, before he realized who was there.
"Angel, LB! Tonight's been a total nightmare… until you two showed up." Cat purred, kissing Raven's cheek close to her lips. The teen blushed and giggled while Ladybug's gaze remained on the street below.
"This is no time for lullabies. We've got to stay focused!"
"This nightmare needs to end. Now." Raven nodded, her eyes narrowing as they found the akuma floating above them. "Look! His cloud is shaped like a pillow! I'll bet you anything that's where his akuma is."
"Awesome! Then time for a pillow fight!"
The trio unhooked their weapons and leapt up, each attacking Sandboy but the kid managed to dodge all three attacks.
"You won't be able to fight your worst nightmare for long!" The villain shot sand from his pillow, the sand exploding once it came in contact with something solid. The heroes dodged and hid from the sand, not in the mood to get hit.
"He's moving around too much!"
"And his evil sand is blowing everywhere."
"Think we need something special for this!"
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug called out but all of a sudden, Raven yelled and something solid hit the spotted heroine the same time a cloud of sand hit. Her and Raven hit the rooftop to see no Lucky Charm-item appear.
"Oh no!" Ladybug gasped, glancing at her yo-yo while Raven sat up with her grappler at the ready.
"Who's about to get a pretty magic jewel?" Sandboy taunted, moving closer to the girls. Ladybug whimpered as she scooted back while Raven moved in front, her hooks swinging in defense.
"Raven! Ladybug!"
Ladybug stood beside Raven and tried to throw her yo-yo, but it had been turned into a normal yo-yo. She tried to jump, but couldn't jump higher than a normal person would be able to.
"What's happening?"
"Your worst nightmare about being Ladybug! Losing your powers!" Raven realized as she and Ladybug dodged Sandboy flying straight for them. Ladybug almost fell off the roof, managing to clamp onto the edge.
"Ladybug!" Raven yelled, jumping up to help her, when something... or rather someone landed before her.
"You think you can save her? You can't save anyone! What do you even bring to this team? I destroy things but you can't even use your power to help us!"
Raven paled at the sight of Cat standing lazily- like he always does, with his staff over his shoulders and his hands resting on top of the metal. But his eyes were sharp, cold... deadly.
"You can see the Paths of Fate and yet you haven't even tried to see who Hawk Moth is. What good are you if you can't do that and make yourself an asset to this team?"
An arm around her waist pulled Raven from her reverie; instinct had her gripping the arm as she realized what was happening. The pair slid down the roof and leapt through the air, catching Ladybug as she fell from the roofs edge and landing on the street below. Cat let both her and Ladybug go once they hit solid ground, allowing the purple teen to take in what just happened.
"The Sandboy just checked in! Now nightmares can begin!" Sandboy taunted above them, shooting sleeping sand onto the heroes.
"Stay behind me, you two." Cat spoke in a calm tone, spinning his staff while Raven turned to press her back to his as the nightmare Cat Noir landed on their other side.
"...You still have your powers." Ladybug spoke in a shocked tone.
"Losing mine is not what I'm afraid of." He spoke flat.
"Then... what?"
" Pretty kitty! "
