"I should have gone after Ailis." Jace sighed, staring down at the paper resting on the table.

"You should be adding your signature to each of these papers. After that you have a meeting with the Gruul guildmaster." Lavinia replied, dropping a stack of papers near Jace who grimaced, the stack resting higher than his head.

"But Lavinia..." Jace protested, rising from his seat until his aide slowly narrowed her eyes at him and he swallowed the rest of his words. Silently he sat back on his chair and Lavinia nodded, a faint ghost of a smile appearing when he reached for his quill only to freeze, his eyes darting around the room.

Shaking her head Lavinia opened her mouth with a well-thought out argument in mind, something about how unwise it would be to keep the Gruul guildmaster waiting, when she saw someone flash into the air inches above the table where Jace sat. Just for a moment Lavinia caught a glimpse of the face under the hood and she blinked, taken aback at the face of a youngish undead who let out a startled yell as she smacked knees first into the table.

In the few seconds it took to shake herself out of her daze, Lavinia watched on as Jace leapt to his feet, immediately moving to their visitor who groaned her eyes pinched together.

"That was...less graceful than I was going for." I groaned, cracking open a eye when I felt a hand grasp my hand. "Who is...oh. Hello Jace." I whispered as he lifted me back to my feet and after stretching my back with an audible crack I let him help me down from the table. Noting the papers now strewn about and the less than happy expression on Lavinia's face not to mention her crossed arms and the slight tapping foot I knew I was in for a lecture.

"Before you get angry I was aiming for the floor and I misjudged it. I promise to clean up if you don't yell at me." I said, kneeling before Jace's aide could respond and after a long and awkward pause she finally nodded, her lips pressed together. Without speaking I quickly darted around the room grabbing handfuls of the papers I'd sent flying before I wordlessly handed them to Jace who just gave me a blank stare.

That was...interesting. I've never seen someone planeswalk so gracefully.

Oh be quiet. I'm new to this planeswalking thing okay?

"Now that you've cleaned up your mess the Guildpact needs to concentrate. So it would be helpful if there were no distractions." Lavinia sighed and I nodded, giving Jace a quick grin as I headed for the library's double doors.

Please don't leave me with her, Ailis. Any ideas on how to get me out of here?

Jace, you need to work otherwise Lavinia will have your head. Besides I'll tell you all about my trip once you're finished. Just call me.

Giving my forehead a tap with the index finger on my right hand I pulled open the door, slipping outside into the hallway before Jace could protest further.

Moving a few steps away from the door I let out a shuddering breath, silently hoping that Jace hadn't seen the dried blood partially hidden by the cloak he'd given me. Though it would have been impossible not to notice how badly I was shaking and not just for my less than graceful appearance in the Ravnica library.

The sight of the door that would allow me entrance to the room Jace had given me made me smile though once I took a single step towards I groaned, a spike of pain from my back causing me to hunch over. Even after the pain faded to a dull ache I found that I couldn't move an inch without the pain growing worse.

"I should have known that one injection wouldn't be enough to dull the pain forever. What was I thinking planeswalking so soon?" I groaned as I stayed perfectly still hoping the pain would lessen.

Wondering how I was going to get into my room or anywhere else for that matter without aggravating the injured I'd suffered at the claws of the two-headed werewolf. By the time I finished debating whether I could make it all the way to my room without passing out from the pain someone walked into view and I brightened when I saw Gideon walking along, whistling until he paused blinking at me once he saw me kneeling.

"Gideon, do you think you could give me a hand?" I asked, grimacing as another wave of pain made me hunch over. He hurried to my side when I tried again to stand and without any effort on his part he lifted me into his arms. Now carried bridal-style I felt my cheeks darken though Gideon didn't notice.

"C...could you carry me back to my room?" I asked him and he nodded, looking at me curiously for a moment. "I'll explain once we get there." I promised and he gave me another nod carrying me the full length of the building until we reached my room.

Gently setting me down Gideon watched as I dug through my cloak pockets to find my bedroom key. "Ailis, what happened to you? I came by to check if Jace had managed to escape from Lavinia and I found you." He replied noting my shoulders trembling as I finally located the missing key and as I carefully slipped it into the lock Gideon reached out, wrapping an arm around my shoulders when I grimaced. "Ailis, give me the key and I'll carry you in." He offered and if I hadn't laready been blushing I would have.

"Thanks, Gideon but I'm okay. Just need a nap and I'll be fine." I told Gideon and he gave me a tiny smile though I noticed him staring at the back of my cloak for a few seconds. "I had a run in with a few Innistrad werewolves but I'll heal."

"I'm not sure that's a good idea but you did heal from a broken wrist pretty fast. I'll leave you to rest but call one of us if you need anything okay?" Gideon made me promise and I gave him a weak smile, waiting until he disappeared down the hallway before I closed the door.

The pain grew worse as I locked the door my legs barely carrying me towards my bed before I groaned from the pain. Not even bothering to remove my shoes I sprawled on the bed, stretching my legs before I closed my eyes hoping that I was right and that my wounds would help faster this time.
