Summary/disclaimer: Time for another Chapter of Virtual Virtues. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own KLK, Trigger and a few others do.

Satsuki swung her blade at him when it came down to it. There was a lot on her mind period when it comes down to it. She had a lot on her mind. Gaete was not once on her side when it came down to his topics. There was a far lot more at stake if she hadn't once been capable of this sort of training.

He rushed at her with his blade raised only for her to parry it, sending him skidding to the side as he did so. There was a look of shock on his face for only a moment only for her to be thrown backward.

Still? She had a lot when it came to her tactics when she considered it. Her methods were odd and yet they had some form of plan to stop these creatures. If she and her friend weren't to win? How else did people stand against the monsters?

Satsuki. She was not a monster at the second and it was apparent that some of the bites were ripped from her. She hadn't battled in a long time, and she hadn't planned to anytime soon. It was honestly something she feared at the time and wished now to light anew in her heart.

"Hmm," Gaete stated while he tapped his fingers on his metallic chin with some interest. "This contest is interesting to almost everyone. This street is still an odd place to train if I'm 100% honest." Gaete said while he started to brush his hands off and stare at her with interest.

The woman nodded and aimed her sword at him. It was a battle to the death as she wished to force it. The longer it seemed to be. The more she pondered how her friend was to be when these monsters appeared, and he was forced to battle them without the handicap. She had held back in this battle, and it hadn't done a lot to help with her feelings this battle.

Yet she didn't let it bother her. They had a far more pressing battle on their hands, and it seemed as if she had to prepare for another time and another battle that needed more than anything to be handled. If she was to be pressed into another war? Then she was to handle it in a far more proper sense. The sooner she was aware of what was needed. She had to adapt, there was no other way besides learning the ins and out of combat.

Still? She was honestly surprised that she was recruited for another war. It was something she expected to be doing anytime soon and it made her raise an eyebrow as she raised her sword towards him. He only seemed to sigh and roll his eyes at the woman who seemed to smile and predict his next attack on her.

'She's a lot better than it seems and she isn't one to surrender or shy away from combat if I'm entirely correct. I think I am. She wants the blood of combat as much as I do. God, do I want more than anything to battle her. This reminds me of that one game I played when I was a kid.' Gaete stated with a smile as he seemed all too eager to continue battling her properly.

'Don't bother with the anime crap, kid. She's out for blood more than anything. Honestly, it seems as if she's going to get some damn blood from this battle if it gets dragged out now. Not surprising. She's a warrior and she thrive in combat like this if I'm not to lie now or in the future.' Rex stated with annoyance written across her face. It honestly reminds me of the home if I'm not to lie at the time.' Sol mentally added in a way that made Gaete question if he was insane or something else.

It made a lot more to deal with if he was honest. This battle was a lot of things and it seemed as if he was to be pressed to his limits in this type of combat. It wasn't to be seen as of now. The more time he wasted trying to press her to the wall in sheer power meant she'd always defeat him in speed or skill when it came down to it.

Still, she wasn't to be pressed now or he'd suffer more than it seemed he'd need be. He pressed her but said nothing to try and stop her.

So, he simply decided to press her more on the other fronts, so she'd not be able to properly find a way to strike back in combat. This didn't bode well for them when it came down to it.

He slashed at her and was forced to delay his next slice when she threw him backward from where he had been. He was honestly ready to snap in half before too long. She glanced at him with a raised eyebrow as he sighed and seemed to greet her with annoyance written across his face. It was clear that both were to gain a lot more when it came down to this battle that had been placed on their shoulders as of now.

She rushed at him with her blade raised to try and skewer him. He rolled to the side as her blade sliced up the concrete near him. Gaete rolled and seemed to stare at her while he prepared for whatever her next move was to be. The more he learned to counter her type of power, the more he'd be able to properly battle her better and survive a combat encounter with their enemies.

Still? He didn't entirely think that trying to turn him into Swiss cheese was the best idea, but it wasn't as if he had a lot of room to improvise on how well to adapt to this.

"Having fun?" Gaete questioned with a smile as he slowly seemed to back away a few seconds later. "I'm still learning how this sword works if you forgot. Not the easiest when it comes down to it. This sword isn't exactly the most perfect thing to use in combat if you remember. You're the sword fighter." Gaete stated while he rested the sword under his armpit and sighed.

This was fun to him; he'd be lying if he said the idea of crossing blades with her wasn't to be enjoyable when it came down to it. She seemed to smirk as she realized that he was enjoying the concept of having some power. It reminded her of when she had overseen warriors.

It also brought a frown to herself as she remembered that her friends weren't around to celebrate this. She wished she had their skills to call upon as it would reduce this scum to ash and allow them to claim Earth once more in a few strokes. It had become a lot harder to lead when she had no real soldiers, no resources at her fingertips to command, and no real ability to control or command anyone to help with this battle. She was smart and it seemed Rex had noticed this, but she had a lot better when she had more at her beck and call.

Still? She had been in wars before, and she had won. What had been expected of her was tough, but it wasn't impossible for her to properly lead them into battle. She had problems with leading a warrior who hadn't yet adapted to this when it came down to it. She wouldn't let it be said and done later when there weren't so many problems with this stratagem which had yet to be a problem when it came down to it.

Gaete seemed to allow her a second to compose her thoughts. It wasn't going to be interesting if he attacked her in the middle of a fight.

She swung her blade at him before she straightened back up and sighed at her with more annoyance than anything. She was well aware of the fact that both had to train and grow, any attempt to become better hinged on how well they were able to properly battle one another. It wasn't so hard when it came down to it for them to battle, no it was harder for them to properly would be met with force. She seemed to question what to do next if they mastered this the second. It was honestly hard when it seemed to come down to it. There was a lot more on their plates than this.

She watched as he backpedaled before he started to raise his eyebrows and clashed his blade at her. He seemed before to question what to do next before she sliced at him.

"Your sloppy," Satsuki stated before she raised an eyebrow. "There will be more soldiers as of the second we get to the base. We both know that there will be interesting duels between us." Satsuki stated before she aimed her sword at her. "Honestly? I would not be surprised when it comes down to how skilled you are. I don't know what to do next if we run into a mob of them." Satsuki stated as she seemed to question what her options were.

Still? She was going to be happy if she battled him properly this was fun, it had been interested in what his tactics were going to be and if he could properly handle her. If he could? Good, that meant a few things on her plate when it came down to it. Weight was to be lifted off her shoulders… Yes, she'd be interested in that.

He leaped backward, raising an eyebrow at her as he seemed to sigh and roll his eyes. She'd try and cut him in half before he did something to stop her. This was insanity he did not want, did not need, yet here he was.

Still? There was to be some sort of problem with this, a problem that hadn't been handled properly. She skated after him, her blade raised to turn him into swiss cheese. It would be too much for him to simply ask for some attempt at mercy.

He asked for none, backpedaling as he did so. There would be time for mercy and peace when this was done and over with. Until then? He worried about trying not to be killed by her.

Still? He was going to be interested in what to do when it came down to it. He was going to be hopeful at the end of the road. There would be more at the time.

He smirked at her all the same. He was honestly curious as of the curious while he was honestly hopeful at the time while dodging her strikes which almost seemed to be trying to cut him in half.

He rolled his eyes at her while slashing at her clumsy. He knew he lacked the grace to beat her in combat, but it wasn't like he wanted to try anything. Gaete didn't have a death sentence nor was he insane enough to battle her when it came down to it.

He dodged to the side as her blade found nothing but empty air. It had been odd, but he wanted nothing more than to have fun in this battle when it came down to it.
