"Hey guys, where's Mal?" Ben asked sitting down with three of the four new students.

"Oh, um, Carlos, you were talking to her earlier right?' Jay asked. Carlos shook his head in response.

"Voice still out huh?" Evie asked to which the freckled boy nodded.

"Guys, Mal?" Ben asked again.

"Well, you see Mal-" Evie started.

"Let me tell you, sneaking around in Auradon is way to easy." Ginny told her. "Nobody's looking over their shoulder here."

"How did you even get here?" Mal asked.

"Stowed away in the trunk while all of you were busy getting you stuff together. Evie does not travel light, just a heads up." Ginny said with a laugh.

"My next question is where's Maddie?"

"Who?" Ginny asked, pretending to be oblivious.

"Maddie, your boss?" Mal reiterated.

"Partner-I mean, who?" She asked again, pretending to be stupid.

"Come on, you're coming with me." Mal said leading her back to the school.

"What are you gonna do? Turn me into the prince who you definitely don't have a crush on?" Ginny teased.

"Are you that stupid? We'll all be sent back and that'll be it. We're gonna have to hide you until we can think of something."

"To be free in Auradon, what more could I want?"

"Free's a loose term." Mal muttered.

"Jane look amazing doesn't she?" Lonnie asked Carlos at their lockers the following day. Jane was walking through the halls and everyone was looking to admire the work Evie did. Normally most students wouldn't even give Jane a second glance, but now it would be more surprising if someone didn't notice her. "Do you think Evie could do mine?" Carlos answered with a shrug. "What if I paid her?" Carlos looked at her and smiled, while nodding.

"Sup guys? Voice still crapping out on you huh?" Chad asked walking up to them.

"Hey Chad, how'd tryouts go?" Lonnie asked him.

"Oh you know, just as good as every year." He said flashing a smile. "Hey I'd love to eat with you guys today, but the team's supposed to meet up, so I'll catch up you two later." He said patting Carlos on the shoulder, who sighed as he watched him head down the hall.

"You're crush is so cute." Lonnie said with a small laugh. "So let's go find Evie."

"Mom says that I shouldn't have to change my appearance to get people to like me." Jane told Evie and Mal in their room (Ginny was hiding in their bathroom).

"What world does she live in?" Evie asked.

"Auradon," Mal snickered while sketching in her sketchbook.

"Hey guys, it's me." Lonnie said walking in. All three of them proceeded to look at her blank faced. "I'm friends with Carlos," She said pulling him into view. Everyone continued to stare in silence. "Anyways, I love what you did with Jane's hair. Do you think you can do mine?" She asked.

"Why would we do that for you?" Mal asked.

"I'll pay you fifty dollars?"

"Deal, come this way." Evie said taking Lonnie over in front of the mirror.

"Um, hi." Jane said nervously to Carlos. Carlos smiled and waved back to her. "I should get going now." She said before leaving.

"Wrong tree," Mal called after her.

"She'll figure it out." Evie said, while working on Lonnie's hair.

"Could you give me a brighter color while you're at it?" Lonnie asked. Evie looked over to Carlos who gave her a "just do it" look.

"Anything you want." She said in a fake voice.

"I can't believe I lost another phone." Chad said search around the general area of where he was sitting in the courtyard.

"Your dad is going to kill you." Aziz said with a laugh.

"Shut up and help me look. Have you seen it Jay?"

"Nope," He said with a smile, feeling the phone in his pocket. "Maybe you left it in your dorm." He suggested.

"That's good, I'll be right back." Chad said running off.

"You have it don't you?" Aziz asked Jay.

"Wait what? What makes you say that?" Jay began to get nervous that someone might be catching on.

"No dude, it's cool. This is like a prank right?" Jay looked at him amazed at how naive he was and smiled.

"Yep, totally."

"Ha, nice one man."

"Hey Jay," Ben said approaching him. "Coach wanted me to talk to you."

"What's up?" Jay asked.

"He said that, while he liked what he saw, he wants to make sure you can work on a team. Because you kind of knocked down literally everyone."

"Well my dad always told me, the only way to win is to make sure everyone else loses." He said, his tone getting aggressive.

"Ok, a team's kind of like a big family." Ben began to explain.

"You do not want to be at my house at dinner time." Jay warned him.

"Ok, bad analogy. A teams kind of like a body, a bunch of different parts that all work together to win. Does that make sense?" Ben asked. Jay sat thinking for awhile.

"Can I be the fist?" He asked excited. Aziz looked over nervously.

"He'll get there." Ben told him before holding up a jersey with name and the number eight on it.

"Hey guys, check it out!" He said stepping into Mal and Evie's dorm, showing it off to the three of them. "So, how's the plan with Jane coming?" He asked Mal, leaning against her bed.

"It's going practically nowhere. She just goes on about how she wishes she looked better. I think it's pointless to continue working her."

"She seems to like Carlos though," Evie said, joining in the conversation.

"She saw him once." Mal told her.

"I know that look in her eyes. Maybe Carlos could-" She looked down at Carlos who was holding up his middle finger without looking up from his laptop. Before anyone else had the chance to say anything, there was a knock at the door. Mal walked over and opened it to see Ben. standing there.

"Hey Mal, I was just stopping by to see if any of you needed anything today?"

"Not that I know of," She said turning to look at the others.

"Ok, well I need to get going then. Tomorrow the first football game of the season and I need to get rest. My girlfriend usually makes me treats before the game anyway."

"Your girlfriend?"

"Yeah, every member of the team is supposed to get treats by their girlfriend."

"Ok thanks, bye." She said, closing the door with a smile. "I think the best way to get close to the throne is to get Benny Boo a new girlfriend." She said turning around. "And I know just who to ask." Evie smiled and moved over to the door to there bathroom and pulled it open. When she did however, her smile dropped away.

"Bad news,"

"Let me guess, she's gone?" Mal asked.

"Slipped away,"

"Who was supposed to be in there exactly?" Jay asked.

"Ginny Gothel." Mal told him.

"She's in Auradon?" He asked, surprised.

"Yeah, I bet with her here, Maddie won't be too far behind." Mal sighed. "So what now?"

"I got it!" Evie said, snapping her fingers.

"I love the lack of dirt," Mal said while mixing the cookie dough.

"Flies," Carlos said in a very hoarse voice.

"Carlos is right, there aren't any flies either." Evie said dipping her finger in for a taste.

"Hey Evie," Lonnie said walking in. "All the girls, want you to do their hair, it's all they're talking about." She looked down at the bowl in front of them. "Midnight snack huh? What you making?"

"Oh nothing special, just some cookies." Mal explained.

Jay look over at Lonnie and flicked his hair back as he moved closer. "Hey," He said in a flirty voice. Lonnie looked at him, not knowing how to respond when she dipped her finger in the bowl to get a taste.

"Do you think it needs anything, like something's missing?" Evie asked.

"Could use some chips," Lonnie said, getting a bag out of one of the cupboards.

"And those are?" Mal asked.

"Chocolate chips. You know, like the ones your mom would make when your feeling sad and she does everything to make you feel better and-" She looked at everyone and saw them all looking back at her confused. "Why are you all looking at me like that?"

"It's just different back on the Isle." Mal explained.

"W-well I know that, I just thought that even criminals love their kids." She said with her voice growing quiet near the end. Mal continued to look at her confused with only a touch of sadness while Evie and Jay were looking down. She turned to Carlos, who walked away to the other end of the kitchen and leaned against the fridge. "I-I'm so sorry," Lonnie said, holding Mal's hand as she began to shed a tear.

"I-it's fine. We need to finish before Ms. Paxson finds us in here."

"Oh ok, goodnight." Lonnie said leaving them alone in the kitchen. Mal took a deep breath before fixing her face and turning around.

"Alright, puppy faces over. Jay, cookie sheet. Evie, oven." She snapped. Carlos wiped his eyes clean and turned around smiling like nothing happened.

The next day Evie, Jay and Mal met up at Mal's locker outside where Evie was talking to a big group of girls about how they all want their hair.

"You really think the cookie's gonna work?" Jay asked.

"Of course it will. Quickest way to guys heart it through his stomach." She says.

"Well, it's the quickest way that's allowed on school grounds at least." He said. Ben walked out and waved to everyone while walking straight past Mal while on his phone.

"No, no, Audrey it's fine. I get that not everyone has time. I'll see you at the game ok?"

"Hey Ben!" She called after him. He stopped and turned around to face her. "I just made a batch of cookies, double chocolate chip, do you want some?"

"Oh no, it's fine. I need to get going anyways." He said, trying to walk away.

"No yeah, I get it, be careful of treats offered by the new kids."

"No, no that's not what I meant."

"I'm sure every kid in school knows that."

"No, no, no, really I-"

"No, you're cautious, that's smart. More for me I guess." She said move the cookie to her mouth, but Ben quickly snatched and began to eat it.

"See? Totally trust you." He said chewing it.

"What do you think?"

"It's good. It's great."

"I'm glad. I'm not really used to baking." She said, playing her innocence card.

"Well, you're excellent at it and I hope you do it more honestly." He said. "I really need to get going now, c'mon Jay." He said walking off. Jay fist bumped Mal as he followed behind.

Carlos was helping Chad with his homework in the library. "I still don't get it," He said after Carlos finished explaining a math problem to him.

"Ok, one more time. Tell me where I lose you." Carlos said as a joke.

"Ha ha, real funny."

"Yo Chad!" Aziz said, walking in before everyone in the library shushed him. "Sorry," He whispered. "Chad, we gotta go, it's game time."

"Right, let's finish this tomorrow, cool?" He asked Carlos.

"Yeah, definitely. G-good luck today." He told him.

"Thanks man, I hope I'll see you out there." He said, patting him on the shoulder before he left.

"He's really moving slowly with you." Ally said after Chad left.

"How long have you been sitting there?" Carlos asked.

"The whole time, thanks for ignoring me." She said in a sarcastic tone.

"I think Chad might actually like me. Weird concept right?"

"I'm just saying, there are plenty of girls who can tell you otherwise."

"Are you one of them?'

"Oh no, I'm not someone who would fall for Chad. But trust me, you need to be careful with him."

"Ok, ok, I'll watch myself, don't know why you're wasting your time worrying about a-" He stopped himself before he finished his sentence hoping not to have to use that phrase.

"A villain kid?" Ally finished or him.

"...Yeah, that." He said turning away.

"Whether you're from here, or the Isle, I don't want to see someone get played again. I'm just trying to look out for you." She said placing a hand on his forearm.

"Well, who asked you to?" He said shaking her off. "I'm gonna go watch them game." He said gathering all his stuff and leaving.
