Claire had later reconnected to the laptop, trying to initiate contact with the rest of the team now that the sun had fallen. Instead of having the opportunity to talk about what they found over dinner, it seemed that the resort employed a family dinner setting in which everyone ate together. The hour of pretending to be a married couple in front of the close eyes of everyone was tiring, especially went continuously asked about how married life was treating them. She took the time that Steve had left to go set up the last of the cameras to come back to herself to prevent herself from blowing the cover that everyone had set up for them.

Claire was brought out of her thoughts by the sound of the connection completing and was greeted by Kono's smiling face.

"Hey, how's the vacation going?" Kono started in case they were being listened to.

"It's not bad," Claire asked. "It's been really quiet."

"Where's the hubby?"

"Taking a short walk before coming back. There were a couple of areas that he wanted to see before the night was over. He couldn't do that earlier."

"Right, I did see the photos he sent earlier. The place must be gorgeous."

"It would be better if I didn't have to deal with a hostile employee."

"No... tell me about it."

"He was this older man who decided I was in his way. Even after getting back from dinner, he gave me this weird look. Thus, I'm in the room rather than walking around with Alex. Everyone else I interacted with was nice, so I think it's just a him problem."

"Well that sucks, and it looks like Alex sent over the photos he just took. I admit I'm a bit jealous that the two of you got to go on vacation while I'm just sitting around, still going to work. Anyway, show me the room."

Claire picked up the laptop and slowly turned it around for Kono to see.

"Aww, it looks really homey. Too bad there's no couch to send Alex to if he annoys you."

Claire snorted at the comment. "If he annoys me too much, he better be happy on the floor, instead of outside."

"Alright, I just wanted to make sure that everything was going well. Be sure to stay in touch, even if you will be too busy with other things. Have fun."

Kono disconnected before Claire could set her straight. This of course was the moment in which Steve walked back into the room, taken back by the glare she was giving the laptop.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"You have weird friends," she bluntly stated.

"Well they're your friends too now," he shrugged.

"She's lucky I love her. Now, your turn to talk to the crazy people back home."

Claire pushed the laptop toward the man before hopping off the bed. She walked toward the bathroom to get ready for bed, wishing that she could get back home as soon as possible instead of the week it would possibly take before the killer was likely to strike again.
