Everyday

Author's Note: Hey everyone and welcome back to Everyday! I hope you are enjoying this so far! We are going to be in the time of Garp, Roger, Dragon, and Rouge for a while! I plan for this fic to be kinda long, but I hope you enjoy!

So, I realized a BIG oopsie I did when I first started this universe and I realized that I mixed up the ages I had set for Rouge and Dragon. So, Dragon's canon age pre time skip is 53. Since Shanks is 37 at that time, Dragon would have only been sixteen when Shanks was born. I mixed up that I had Rouge originally set three years OLDER than Dragon. It's something I can't fix in They Don't Know About Us. I remembered my calculations, but I flipped them xD so, yeah, I will be fixing that here and any further stories I do with this dynamic. So, just a heads up, that is a major change from the original fic. I am actually angry with myself for making this mistake. I wish I could find my notebook where I did my notes, like ugh. Thanks for understanding!

On with the fic!

Chapter Warnings: Blood and Minor Injury

Chapter Five: Mysteries of the Mist: Portgas D. Shay

Chapter Summary: As the memories progress, they all start to see that there is more to this Marine's power than anyone thought.

Rouge had practically been hanging onto Garp like a lifeline. Dragon had been standing with them, being another source of comfort for her. It felt almost odd that all three of them were standing together through this. It had been a long time since the three of them had been together at the same time. It had been years. If they ever saw it each other it was only one of them, and she wasn't even sure if Dragon and Garp had interacted together after she left Dawn Island all those years ago.

Looking around at the others, everyone was practically hanging onto someone. This was a terrifying situation. All their secrets were out in the open for other pirates. Marines. The world. Everything that she ever wanted to protect her family from was going to be coming out into the open. They would see it all.

In the end, to her, it was completely worth it if it meant that Ace would be safe. That his life would be spared. Sengoku was a man to keep his word. Rouge knew that much. She didn't think he would have them do this just to turn around and kill Ace. Not when the entire world was witnesses to this war. There would be no way that Sengoku would go back on his world if everyone could see it. That was the only comforting thing about all of this.

The mist still swirled around them. This power was something spectacular. Being able to see back into the pasts of multiple people. As well as being able to line them up within the order of events as they took place. It was amazing, but Rouge couldn't keep the fear away.

Dragon's hand on her shoulder was grounding. Keeping in with that fact that was indeed still reality, no matter what she was seeing before her. This was all before her, and Dragon ever truly existed. Seeing her mother was an experience all on its own. Seeing her look so young. Happy and healthy. Alive. It was like a dream come true. Each time she flashed before their eyes, it reminded her just how much her own son mirrored her. His reaction to her protecting Martin was enough to show that it was so much more than their looks. Their personalities. According to what she picked up, Shanks had said and been in a comparable situation to her. Even saying close to the same words. Rouge didn't even realize how close herself, her mother, and Shanks were alike. Lotus Peak had flashed in her mind of the moment she had a gun to her head directly in front of her child and those same words slipped from her mouth. It was almost like bonds were moving directly through them all that it was reflecting in their actions and words. It was almost scary how much so. It was even like her own mother was reborn within the form of her child.

She was learning so much more from seeing Rayleigh's memories. Things that even she didn't know about Roger. It was like having him back with her just for a few moments every single time that he showed up within this mist. It felt so real, even though she knew that he wasn't truly there. It reminded her so much to why she missed him so much. Why she was proud to be the mother of his child. Just seeing him talk about having a son in the future was fulfilling. That he had so much faith in destiny that he knew about Shanks years before Rouge herself was even born. Hearing the way that he spoke about her without even knowing her yet. It was beautiful. Roger had been a part of her after they met.

"Roger always did seem to have an intuition about things." Rayleigh stated, "It was like things that he said just ended up coming true."

"Roger would make things happen." Rouge whispered. "Even if he didn't realize it. It was something I loved about him."

She didn't fear expressing her love for Roger. Roger was her one true and only love. The love of her life. Even thought they hardly spent time together. She didn't fear saying it in front of others. With their memories laid out for the world, it would only be just in time that they would discover her relationship with Roger. The father of her child. Sengoku hadn't been far off with saying that Ace was related to Roger. He had just been wrong about how he was related to him. Roger was not Ace's father, but he was his grandfather. That was enough to put that target on Ace's back. He had Roger's blood in his veins. The Marines had proved with Baterilla that they were willing to do anything to keep Roger's blood from continuing on. Now, it was just if Sengoku actually kept his word and allowed them to leave after this.

She reached up, touching at the bond gland at her neck. It had been so long since the mark had been there. Long since healed from the death of her mate. She still felt the pain of losing him to this day. She knew why he did it, but it didn't hurt any less. Though, it didn't matter if he was executed or not. He was still going to die not long after being crowned Pirate King by the world. She knew it was better that Roger had left this world the way that he wanted to. On his own terms. She just wished she had longer with him. It never felt like there was enough time in the world.

Then there was the thought in her mind.

She would get to see moments of Shanks growing up that she wasn't a part of.

She would get to see that she had fully made the right decision. Even though she knew she had. It never felt like she had the confirmation she needed, even though she could see the man that Shanks became. The family that he had created. She would get to see moments that she never got to experience.

That would be enough for her.

As the mist settled around them, they were standing within the fields of Dawn Island. She blinked as she looked around, her eyes settling on her childhood home. The same home that she had been living in ever since living the Whitebeard Pirates. She blinked. Why were they seeing this? The outside of the house was decorated in flowers in the flower beds. Many different flowers. Kneeling on the ground, tending to the garden was Shay. Shay was singing softly, a hibiscus flower tucked behind her ear as she continued to work. She stopped for a moment, standing up and smiling as she wiped at her brow with the back of her hand. There wasn't even a swell to her stomach yet from what Rouge could see. Her button up shirt was open, a black crop top underneath that showed her stomach.

Rouge looked around, trying to see if she could see Garp or Rayleigh but not seeing them anywhere.

"What is going on?" She questioned.

She wasn't the only one who was confused. Garp looked just as confused as her, which told her enough. Garp didn't recognize this. "I wasn't around for most of Shay's pregnancy. She's not that far along here." Garp stated. A soft smile slipped on his lips as he kept his eyes on his mate. "She's still so beautiful. She went through her pregnancy almost completely alone. I was sent back out to sea."

"How can we be seeing this?" Mihawk questioned. "Are you certain that this power of yours isn't making up fake memories?"

The Marine stepped forward, shaking her head, almost in disbelief, "I'm not sure. I think… it's because she's pregnant."

Shay looked up, her gaze out towards the ocean, "I wonder where Garp is right about now." She muttered, her hand coming up to her stomach and settling on the still flat surface, "He better be back before you're born little one or pirates will be least of his concern."

Rouge choked on the air in throat as a laugh erupted from her. She brought her hand up to cover her mouth as she turned her head enough to look at her father. Garp snorted, shaking his head, "The one person who was able to get away from my Fist of Love."

"Isn't that spousal abuse?" Someone questioned.

Rouge waved her head, "Unfortunately, it's the way that my father shows his love."

"That's… scary." Haruta whispered. Rouge laughed slightly, sighing as she looked back to her mother. To think this Devil Fruit had the ability to show even the memories connected to someone just because they were pregnant with one of them. That was amazing. It was an amazing power, even if it was revealing everything about them to the world.

Shay laughed, stretching her arms above her head as she sighed. "Well, little one, guess it's time for dinner. Lobster. Lobster sounds good."

The Omega woman walked forward, heading towards the town as she started to sing the song she had before. Rouge couldn't help the smile on her face. Shay always had a beautiful voice. She was constantly singing for as long as she could remember.

Shay paused suddenly, frowning as she looked at the woods. She tilted her head as Rouge craned her own neck to try and see what she was looking at. She heard the small whines next. Shay smiled softly as she turned, walking towards the forest, and kneeling down. "Hey there." Shay said, "You got caught up in some thorns."

Rouge's eyes widened as she noticed what her mother was talking to before the familiarity hit. She shook her head as Shay reached down, uncaring of the thorns pricking at her hands.

"Wait is that…?" Marco questioned.

Rouge hummed. "Sure is."

Shay continued messing with the thorns, pulling them away before reaching down and bringing a small tiger into her arms. The tiger growled, swatting at her and catching her wrist. Two claw marks followed on her skin, but Shay didn't even bat an eye. The tiger whined, slumping in her arms. Its arm was bloody from a large gash that was on its arm and shoulder. Rouge grimaced. That looked painful. She paused, realizing that she recognized it. "There you go." She whispered, scratching the cub behind the ear, not even caring that she now had blood moving down her arm. "That wound doesn't look that great. Let's get you fixed up."

"This woman literally just picked up a tiger?!" Thatch exclaimed.

"It clawed her." Nami said, "It clawed her, and she said let me fix you?!"

"You know what… I'm not even surprised." Whitebeard mused.

"That's my wife for you." Garp said, the pride reflecting in his voice. "She took her oath as a doctor seriously. Even for animals."

"Why is your entire family fearless?" Sengoku questioned.

"It's in our blood." Garp replied.

"I feel like anyone who marries Garp has to lack a bit of sanity." Mihawk grumbled.

"You mated with me and he's, my grandfather." Shanks shot back. "Does that make you crazy?"

Mihawk shrugged his shoulders, a smile coming to his face, "Maybe I am a bit."

Shay stood up, shifting the tiger in her arms despite it growling again. Reassurances were dropping from her lips as she went back to singing, turning back towards her home, and starting up the path again. The tiger started to look content as she made it back to the house, going inside. It felt like a miracle that they all seemed to fit. If someone couldn't see, Rouge didn't know. She was back to standing in the kitchen as Shay used one arm to swipe things off of the table. She placed the tiger down carefully, keeping on hand on it as she grabbed a medical bag. Her fingers moved along the fur of the tiger. The small whines and growls continuing to leave the creature. Shay grabbed out a needle and a small vile of medicine. "This should be okay. Completely safe to use on animals." She muttered, smiling as she looked down at the tiger, "Just like that. Stay relaxed. This will help you with the pain. Let's get you healed up and you can go back home, alright?"

She worked with one hand, using her mouth to open anything that she needed, using her other hand to keep the tiger soothed. Rouge was amazed that Shay had only been clawed once. She guessed the cub was in just enough pain that it didn't care anymore. Though, she really didn't know how animal instincts worked all that much. Normally, using Conqueror's Haki could keep them at bay or if they felt a lot of power they would leave on their own.

Before long, the tiger was fast asleep. Now, Shay used both of her hands, moving to work on the injury on the animal. Moving around and grabbing anything she needed. As she finished, she bandaged the wound, taking a moment to care for her own. She moved towards the family room and grabbing blankets and pillows, setting them up in a corner similar to a nest. The Omega woman turned back towards the kitchen walking over to the cub and picking it up as carefully as possible before moving back towards the other room and placing the tiger down in the nest she had just made. With a smile on her face, she sighed, sitting down on the floor next to it. "I'm sleepy now." She said, exhaling as she leaned her head against the chair she was leaning against, "You'll be alright."

The area around them started to change again, an assortment of colors moving around them. "What happened to the tiger?" Ace questioned.

Garp smiled. "He became loyal to her. Shay loved that tiger."

"Sounds familiar." Deuce stated, grinning as he reached over and pushed his knuckles against Ace's shoulder. The Omega smiled, shaking his head slightly. "Guess being good with animals runs in the family."

The mist settled again, this time they were back on a ship. Rouge was able to tell that it was a Marine ship immediately. Garp was standing at the front of the ship, looking out to the ocean with his arms crossed over his chest. 'Why do I feel like my wife is doing something right now and I am going to have questions when I get home?' Garp's thoughts rang through her head. Rouge couldn't even control her laughter, hearing others also breaking out into fits of it.

It didn't last long before a Marine was running up to Garp, shouting, "Commodore Garp, sir! A new set of wanted posters just came in."

Garp turned, taking the wanted posters that were being held out to him. Rouge couldn't see what they were from where she was standing. Garp flipped through them, mumbling out names as he went.

"Silvers Rayleigh. Scopper Gaban." Garp said out loud before pausing on one, "Gold Roger." He frowned, sighing, "I feel like this one is going to be a problem. Thirty million, huh. Bounty gained for actions at Orange Town. Punched a Marine soldier."

"From what we've information we've received, Gold Roger is the Captain of the Roger Pirates." The Marine replied.

Garp nodded, "Well I want to meet this one. Anyone with this high of a bounty in the East Blue needs to be dealt with immediately."

Rouge looked away from the younger version of Garp as she heard multiple choking sounds from the Strawhats and Luffy. She looked over, her mind flashing to seeing Luffy's first bounty poster. She walked over, peeking around the younger version to Garp to see the younger Roger with the straw hat on his head, a grin on his face and the bounty underneath the picture. A smile came to her face. Luffy had been smiling in his too. Even their smiles were almost exactly the same.

Thirty million berries.

Ironic.

"I can't believe it! We had the same bounty at one point!?" Luffy exclaimed, "That's so cool."

Alright, Rouge was positive that they would end up seeing more of situations like this one at some point. The coincidence that Luffy and Roger had the same bounty from the East Blue was shocking to her. She thought Roger's would have been higher. It was odd it was as small as it was. It felt like it was a sign. A sign that Luffy was more like Roger than any one of them had seen before.
