{Hey guys, here is your next update. Sorry for the wait but, I hope it is worth it for you. I would like to thank Reshot redhead1985 I am glad you have joined and are enjoying the story so far. To HigherAngel one of the things that can bug me about a story is when you they don't explain backgrounds. I feel like it gives my character so much more in the story when you understand her background. To Legolas'Girl 31, Foreverkee, Samantha Renk, Emmettluver2010 and KellsABiach I am glad that you found my story again, I always loved your reviews. To ARG613 I am glad that you enjoy the story so far and here is your next update. To the guest who reviewed, if you keep reading shortly her daughter will make another appearance and you will find out if she will or not. To CherryNicole98 thank you for the compliment, reading that gave me the inspiration I needed when I got stuck in this chapter. To everyone else who has favorite or followed since thank you very much. Don't forget to review, favorite and follow it all means a lot to me. I do not own the Sons of Anarchy only my own characters and anything else that you do not recognize}
He stared at it with a look even I couldn't pin point. He gently grabbed the photo from me, his thumb caressing the photo. After a few moments he looked up at me, "You have a daughter?"
Tears welled in my eyes. "I do and I had her taken away from me once before Hap and I will not risk having her taken away again. I can't have someone that would just blindly kill a little girl without a second thought around her. I thought the club had a code but just like my father it is another hypocritical lie."
As soon as the words left my mouth I instantly knew what they meant...we were over. "It can't be just that-"
"No your right it's not just that. I need someone who will be by my side the way I wanted to be by yours. I was willing to stand by you on everything and you blew it with one phone call." I walked off my bed towards my door and opened it, "I think it's time that you left."
It was hard to look him in the eye but, what was done was done."She wasn't anything to me." he almost shouted at me
I stared at him in disbelief, "At least be man enough to admit what you did. Get out."
He tried to reach out to me while he said my name. I swatted his hand hard and shoved him towards my door. My heart was shattering and I could deal with this anymore. "Leave me alone!" I shouted again
"I think you need to leave bro." A males voice spoke up behind us
We both looked down the hall to see that Jax stood there staring him down. The world seemed to stop as we all stared at one another. Happy eyes fell to mine before a low growl sounded from him and he looked down before leaving us both. I waited to say anything until the sound of the front door being slammed rang through the house. I looked up to Jax, "What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to make sure you got home okay. I'm glad I came back."
I ran my fingers through my hair and walked past him into the kitchen. I pulled out a bottle of rum and put two glasses on the counter. Jax leaned against the counter with his back facing the counter with a raised eyebrow. I downed my first glass, hissing at the taste that slipped down my throat. I poured us both one this time and passed him one. He didn't hesitate in grabbing it but still kept his eyes on me. "Want to tell me the truth now? You sprung a lot on me tonight."
I knew he wanted to know about Stella and Happy. I took a deep breath, turning around and leaning on the counter as well. "Where do I even start. I lost my daughter when she was born. My aunt thought it would be better for her to be with a family member. Of course at the time I didn't really care. It wasn't until the opportunity to see her again rose that my heart broke not being her mother. So we made an arrangement. We went to court and arranged it so that in four years I could have Stella back as long as I stuck through her life, paid money when I had to and stayed clean. I did all but three. She knows that I'm her mom but, she believes that I work away and that's why she stays with my aunt. When Opie and I were taken in, Stahl tried to use her against me to get me to rat. It didn't work obviously but, now I have six months before I go to court to get her back."
Jax nodded his head as he listened intently, "Have you told mom? Or Clay?"
I looked down into the auburn liquid. "No, I'm going to have to and soon."
"And Hap?"
"There was something there but, to be honest I don't know anymore. After tonight I don't know what to do. I thought the rule was that you don't kill women and children. But, yet Donna has died and that poor scared girl was almost killed today if you hadn't done something. And if that's not bad enough. He was involved. I accepted who he was when I met him and learned to love even that side of him. Then he abandons me here and the one time I can manage to get a hold of him...it wasn't him that answered the fucking phone. Is that how you men treat us? My heart can't take that."
I threw back the drink and placed it on the counter. "It is one thing to bring her into this life but, it is a whole other thing to bring her into a home that has a man that is killing women and ordering little girl's death. What do I do Jax?"
My fingers gripped the counter hard and tears rolled down my cheeks. "Clay?" Jax asked
"You know exactly who I am talking about. I've seen the way you look at him, you know he did it. I just fucking happened to be there!"
I smashed my hand against the counter, I grimaced in pain and held my hand to my stomach. Jax chuckled beside me and pulled me into his arms. "I know how you feel. I have a feeling he did it but, without proof there is nothing that either of us can do. When you get your daughter, I promise I will protect you both. There is no more blood that needs to fall in this family. I've never had a sister before so I don't know how to do this but, I will always be here."
All the emotion that I had been bottling up since Happy left exploded and a sob escaped my lips. Jax's arms encircled around me and I gripped his sweater tighter in my hands. "How about you stay at my house, hang around Abel for the night. Maybe that will make you feel better."
I looked up to Jax whipping my tears on my sleeve before I nodded my head. I followed him out of the house to his bike and hoped on.
(6 months later)
The last few months had been chaotic. I had started to prepare for my court date to get my daughter back. I hadn't seen much of Happy since that day but, when we have the looks he sends me breaks my heart. Opie had disappeared since the funeral. Me and his parents had taken care of his kids making sure that they knew that their dad loved them. Happy had left today to go gather Kozik from SAMTAC and bring him back here for Bobbies arrival.
I was just putting my lipstick on when my phone started to ring. I looked over to it to see a number I didn't know if I was going to see until the day of court. I placed the cap gently on my lipstick and hesitantly reached for my phone. I looked at myself in the mirror and took a deep breath before I answered my phone, "Valerie? Is everything okay?" I asked a little worried
"Stella is fine don't worry. She is the reason I called though." Valerie seemed a little unsure of herself as she spoke to me
"What is it?"
"Listen it's not that I don't believe that you are not ready for this. You are definitely more stable than last time I saw you. But, I don't want to see Stella hurt so I have a favor to ask you."
I knew she was just saying what she was out of concern but, my anger still rose with what she was saying. I didn't say anything but, she spoke up for me, "I want you to take her for the night. Get to know her, make sure that this is what you want. Because once you take her she is yours for life. The drugs all of it...it needs to be left in the past so you can create a future with her."
A relieved chuckle escaped my lips, I had told everyone about Stella but, it still made me nervous. I needed to get over it though so I smiled instead "Of course. When should I pick her up?"
