{Hey guys I apologize for the long wait. I kind of went off here for a bit I wasn't getting to many responses in my email to anything so it was a bit disappointing along with a bit of writers block. Sorry guys once more but I am back. I also did put the court in here never really experienced court sessions like this so I kind of made it up as I went. I have two stories on a trial run, a Steve Rogers (Captain America)/OC, a Daryl Dixon (Walking dead)/OC. If I don't feel like it's going anywhere by the fifth or sixth chapter I will discontinue it. Same applies to any others anybody wants me to take on. I do not own anything from Sons of Anarchy only my own characters and anything else that you do not recognize.}

By the time I had reached the house Stella was passed out in her car seat. I stepped out of my side and started to walk over to her just as Happy pulled in behind us. I reached in and unbuckled Stella and I could hear the crunch of Happy feet as he came up behind me. He placed a hand on my back and whispered, "Here let me carry her in. You just grab the door."

I smiled at him and did as he said. My body was becoming tired from the nights stress and I just wanted to curl up with my family and go to sleep. Family...that wasn't something I honestly thought I would say. I watched as Happy cradled Stella in his arms with a firm grip as he closed my car door and walked into the house. He walked straight to my room and gently laid her on the bed. I placed my car keys on my dresser as I watched him. A new side of Happy that only I would be privy to see. I kicked off my heels and walked over to the bed. I grabbed the blanket that was folded at the end of the bed and pulled it around Stella. I tucked it into her sides and leaned forward placing a light kiss to her forehead. Stella eyes were barely open and I could tell she was trying to fight off the sleep that was trying to take her. "Mommy?"

"Yes baby?"

"I love you."

I smiled "Forever and always." I replied as my hand slipped over her face to guide her eyelids down

She didn't fight it and I sat watching her for a minute. I kept replaying the events of tonight my fear replaying over and over and soon my anger started to bubble to the surface. I stood up from the bed and pushed past a quiet Happy and stormed my way into the kitchen. I took some rum from the liquor cabinet and a shot glass pouring myself an ample amount and shot it back. I made a face at the slight sting as it went down my throat. "Hitting it pretty hard?" Happy voice came from behind me

I glared at him over my shoulder and pulled out my cigarettes and sat at the table. It wasn't until I inhaled a long drag that I answered him, "I don't like it Happy does that shit happen all the time? People showing up at the club to threaten plain as day like that?"

He pushed off the frame he was leaning on and sat at the table beside me. He pulled my chair towards him so my knees were in between his and he took my free hand in his. "It doesn't, not like that. I don't like it anymore than you do," his eyes trailed away from mine to look down the hall at my room, "I promise I will protect both of you with everything I got."

A frown pulled at my lips and I tried not to sound bitter, "How? You are always leaving your not tied to us here. It's not like we live together and if Clay's face said anything tonight it was that you can't stay here with us."

"You're damn right." A deep voice echoed at the door

I hadn't heard the door open but there stood Clay and Gemma. Happy heaved a deep sigh and sat back in the chair but he did not move his body or hands from me. I flicked my ash into the ashtray and took another drag, "Yeah well what are you going to do about it?" I snapped at him

He gave me a look that told me to challenge him but he walked over to the rum that was still on the counter and back to the table where he took a seat with Gemma. He had yet to answer me and I was becoming increasingly pissed off. "Clay someone just walked up to you and told you how to run your business. He didn't just tell you he threatened you and your family what. are. you. going. to. do?" I hissed and leaned into the table

His eyes turned sharp towards me before he pointed a finger at me, "What did I tell you about my business-"he started to lecture me

I stood up abruptly and slammed my hands into the table. "And what about my daughter, you're granddaughter! Tomorrow is the court date and what am I supposed to do if she says anything about what happened? Huh? What happens if god forbid something happens to her! You don't care do you? You care about your club and nothing else!"

"Watch you tone." He spat back at me

I could feel Happy stand to stand beside me and he tried to pull me from the room. "If anything happens to Stella I will do everything to tear you down from the pedestal you put yourself on."

Happy pushed me from the room towards my room as I continued to fight with him. I knew things were getting heated but between what happened with Donna and now this I couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore. Happy pushed me into my room and closed the door to attempt to diffuse the situation. His plan worked because Clay did not follow to argue. Happy kept pushing me towards the bed and made me sit down. "Hey…hey calm down. Listen to me, I'm going to fix this but you can't go provoking your dad. You will get your daughter back."

Tears had started to spring to my face and he grabbed my face in his hands and pushed my tears away. "But what if—"

"No, there is no what if. You will get her back."

I bit my trembling lip and tried to focus on him. On his near black eyes, the way he was watching me…his lips. Before I knew it my lips met his in a passionate kiss and I didn't want to pull away. "Stay with me." I whispered against his lips

After a moment he nodded his head and kissed my forehead. I looked back at Stella, "I just got to hop into the shower, just get comfortable I won't be long."

I stood up and walked away from him and into the bathroom. My fan wasn't working so I left the door open a little to get rid of the steam. I stripped off the cloths I had and after making sure the temperature was where I wanted it I stepped in. I enjoyed the hot water as it hit my skin and my muscles released their tension. It wasn't until I felt his arms around my waist did I realize that Happy had joined me. "Stella." I tried to argue

"She is sleeping. Besides I'm not doing anything just a shower." He argued back

I relaxed into his embrace and sighed in content. He placed a kiss to my neck before placing his head on my shoulder and I didn't need to tell him how nice this felt. How safe I felt in his arms. I missed this and needed it all at once.

I had dropped Stella off with her aunt and went home to get ready. I slipped on a pair of nice grey pinstriped dress pants with a long sleeve black shirt with a round neckline. I put a small belt with the pants and pair of pointed black stiletto heels. I left my hair straight and down and I stared at myself in the mirror. This was the most professional thing I could find in my closet. It was a long way from what I wore the last time I went to court for Stella and that was a good thing. My heart was beating so fast as I thought of the possibility of taking my baby girl home. I looked up as Gemma walked into the room. "You ready baby?"

"As I will ever be." I replied with a sigh

She walked towards me and pulled my hair forward to rest on my chest. "I was thinking that when this is all over…when we come home with her, we have a family super. Make up for the way it ended last night."

I smiled at her, everyone seemed to have high hopes that this was going to work. I just smiled and nodded my head. Gemma, Jax, Tara and Happy were coming to my court with me for support. Without them my nerves for sure would have been so much higher. Gemma grasped my hand in hers, "Let's go get her baby."

I stood outside the doors waiting for my lawyer to come and get me. We had been in session for almost an hour and now it was down to my testimony and my daughters. I was asked to step out so that I would not influence my daughter's answers. Though I was hesitant at first, I at this moment just wanted this to be over. I just wanted Stella in my arms so I would never let her go again. "We are ready for you now." My lawyer said as she held the door open for me

I pressed my hands against my stomach and smoothed out any wrinkles I had. I followed her back into the court room and was escorted to the stand. They placed a bible before me and I was asked, "Do you solemnly swear that you will tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you god under pains and penalties of perjury?"

"I do." I answered as clear as I could

With a nod of his head, he removed the bible and walked away from me. First up was the prosecution;

"Please sate your name for the record."

"Savannah Morrow."

"And how are you related to one Stella James?"

"I am her birth mother."

I placed my hands and started to play with fingers. I knew the questions were just going to get harder, "Are you employed at this point in time?"

"Yes, with Teller-Morrow mechanic shop."

"For how long?"

"Only a few months."

"You also live with your parents?"

"My father and his wife, yes."

"Where were you before? What were you doing?"

"Objection your honor, this has been brought up previously in court it has no relevance." My lawyer stood up in argument

"Sustain, try to keep your questions pertaining to current and future." The judge agreed with my lawyer

"What is your plan for when or if you get your daughter?"

"I don't plan to leave my family business but I do plan on finding my own home that I can share with my daughter."

"How have you changed since your last appearance here in court?"

"I got a job, a stable environment. I have worked on myself as a person including being clean for eight months."

"Do you have any evidence of this change?"

"We do. Your honor we have tests that were done two days ago. Paperwork stating her employment, housing. This should be enough along with all the testimonies you have heard today." My lawyer said passing along paper after paper

"I have someone who would state otherwise that you were in a holding cell not too long ago."

"Objection your honor. We have evidence that states that that was a complete misunderstanding and was cleared up." My lawyer once again rejected passing another paper along

Once he looked over the paper he ruled, "Sustain."

"I have no further questions your honor." The prosecution said

My lawyer stood up and I visually relaxed knowing she would not say anything to take her away from me. "Savannah, can you explain to us what it was like to hold your daughter for the first time a few months ago. After being separated for so long."

I remembered the day I saw her when Stahl took me in with Opie and his wife. "Relief. To know that she was safe and being looked after. But, it hurt to know that it was not me giving her that. I saw the hurt on her face and fear when she had to leave. I wanted nothing than to show her the world as I never got to. To show her how I had changed for her, the love that I wanted to give her," My eyes met with my family who sat behind everyone, "I'm not going to lie I was not the best mother to start. It did not mean that I did not love her any less. I let my daughter down and now all I am asking for is a chance to prove to her that I'm not some dead beat mother who could care less. But, instead a mother who can nurture her and love her, watch her grow and give her everything this world has to offer."

My lawyer smiled at me and nodded at the judge, "I think that answer says it all, that is all your honor."

"Thank you Miss Morrow, you may re take your seat."

I walked down to the table that was in front of the seats and took my seat. The judge left to decide on whether or not I would have my child. I thought I had been nervous this morning but, I was so wrong. My hands were clammy and my heart was racing. I was trembling and I bit my lip in an effort to stop the hysterics that were threatening to break free. My breathing stopped as I watched the judge walk back in. As he sat down the rest of us stood standing waiting for his verdict. His eyes wandered from me to the people behind us. "I have reviewed the testimonies and through deep consideration…" he started to say

I felt that in that moment my heart completely stopped, that the world had stopped moving completely. I closed my eyes and counted

1…

2…

3…

"You may take your daughter into your custody permanently Miss Morrow."

My eyes shot open in disbelief. I finally had my daughter. Fresh tears sprung to my eyes and goose bumps caressed my arm.
