"You know why," Katara spat, ignoring Aang's betrayed expression.
Koh smiled lazily, the sneer stretching Zuko's lips unnaturally.
"You think you've won," Katara spat.
Koh's grin grew. "Haven't I?"
"No. I know who you really wanted; whose face you're truly after."
"That's no secret. The Avatar has always known I desired his face. It's a game we've played many times through the ages; moves, and countermoves always bringing us closer to the goal."
"Which is?"
Koh looked past her, fixing Aang with a hungry look. Aang returned his gaze steadily, his face devoid of emotion. "The end of the Avatar."
Author's Notes: First, to anyone still reading this. I apologize for the absurdly long break. It's been a rough couple months between the move and some bad health news which has kept me busy and no time to write. I took the time to get several chapters ahead now so updates should be regular once again. Sorry if this story seems like it's dragging. Honestly, I got bogged down by some details and the main plot got sidetracked. The next few chapters will get us back on track, resolve some outstanding plots, and begin to wrap this thing up. Thanks for reading!
