Ryan did what his wife asked, and on the way to pick up their children at day care he prepared a long speech in his head about what he is about to tell his wife when he gets home. Although he has to admit that it might not come out exactly as he planned it and it can go one of two ways; either Alex agrees with him or they end up in divorce court. That might be an over exaggeration but anyone who knows Alexandra Booth might know that she s=reacts first and think about what you said second.
He pulled up outside the day care center and walked inside, locating his daughter playing with a bunch of dolls in the middle of the room. She looks up at him and immediately abandons her play with her friends.
"Daaaadaaaa! We go home?" She asked enthusiactically. He father wishing he had the amounts of energy his toddler has right now.
"Yeah, we're going home. Where's your brother?" He asked walking into a room with a lot of smaller babies, most of them sleeping peacefully in cribs.
"Dada, I not in miss Marci's class anymo'. Miss Allen my new teecha." Phoebe informed her dad. "Miss Marci look at small babies like Ashie." She used her hands to indicate how small the babies are that her former teacher are watching over.
"Hi Ryan. Did you and Alex survive without Asher for the first day?" Marci greeted when she noticed the father daughter duo in the room.
"I survived, not so sure about Alex." Ryan smiled looking at his son sleeping in the crib. They gathered his things and after strapping him and Phoebe into their car seats on the back seat they drove off to go home, Phoebe singing along to "the wheels on the bus" as a back track while they listened to the traffic noises from outside.
Alex finished her bath and was downstairs looking at the Special Agent interview form in front of her. Still contemplating on whether to fill this out or not when the door opened and her toddler came running inside.
"Maaaaammmmaaaa!"
"Phooeeebeee! How was your day?" Alex asked picking her up and kissing her cheeks.
"Good. I play, and eat and sleep and play again then dada came get me." She explained with a serious expression on her face.
"Wow that sounds interesting. Did Asher behave himself?" Alex asked since it was part of big sister duties to look after her brother when her parents weren't around.
"He sleep and eat whole day mama." She gave her feedback then ran off to the corner of the lounge where her toys were being kept.
A few minutes later Ryan entered with Asher placing his diaper bag on the couch, and handing the now awake baby to his mother. He starts to look more and more like a mini version of his father, and Alex has to admit it is rather cute. "Hey Asher. And how was your day?" Alex asked and her son responded by yawning. "Am I boring you? Phoebe says you were sleeping most of the time and now you're sleepy again? Spend some time with me, I missed you."
Ryan noticed the papers on the table his wife was looking at, and decided to go ahead with the speech he had been planning. "Have you decided?" He asked pointing in the direction of the forms.
"I think I was too emotional about today's case. And while I still have my doubts I'm going to give it a go." She said kissing Asher making brief eye contact with her husband. "But, as much as I'd love the position I don't want to be watched like a hawk because you're on the interview board, or have people tell me that I got the job because of you." She raised her concern.
Ryan stood in front of the fridge and opened the orange juice, not bothering to use a glass to pour the contents in. Knowing how much it irritated his wife when he did this.
"Get a glass." Alex commented walking over to the couch to lay Asher down.
"No, you want to dirty dishes unnecessarily, It's three quarters of the bottle I'll finish it." He closed the fridge while chugging down the rest of the contents and putting the empty bottle on the counter.
"Back to what you said earlier, if you get the job it will be because you are a great agent and not because of my involvement in the bureau." He said looking at her.
"Phoebe don't throw your toys around you're gonna hurt yourself bub." Alex warned as she was playing some game where she threw her stuffed toys around trying to see how far she can throw and who will land on the coffee table.
"You meet the minimum requirements by having been to Quantico and having experience in the field. Now you just have to lead cases, and not get too involved. Whatever happens at work, you need to leave there." He states but a glass shattering is what made him and Alex look up to where Phoebe was playing.
Her game escalated too quickly and somehow she managed to break a glass vase holding flowers. Water spilling and shards of glass laying around the table. Her brothers cries not helping much in this situation, as he was disturbed from a peaceful sleep.
"Phoebe Grace, I told you to be careful." Alex reprimanded and the toddlers eyes filled with tears immediately as both her parents walked towards her.
"Leave the glass don't pick it up." Ryan said as he scooped her up while Alex calmed Asher. "It's okay you just had a fright." Ryan told his daughter calmly.
"Mama mad at me." She said through tears, running a hand across her face.
"I'm not mad at you. I just want you to listen when I'm asking you not to do something okay? I love you." Alex assured her as both their children started to calm down.
Alex and Ryan cleaning the mess while Phoebe found her most prized possession, Barney, to play with instead.
"I will do dinner while you fill out those forms." Ryan suggested ignoring the worried look on his wife's face. "I got this Alexandra. Have some faith in me. It's your chance to show skills for dessert, we can try for baby number 3 tonight." Ryan winked at the surprise expression on Alex's face.
Back in the office it seemed like a normal day until all of them were called into the briefing room once again, mentally preparing for another reprimand from their superiors. "New case and we need all hands on deck for this one." Ryan started walking over to the monitor to show them some pictures of a plane crash before she started explaining. "United Air Lines Flight 629, a DC-6B with 44 persons aboard, took off from Stapleton Airport in Denver, Colorado bound for New York. Four hours into later, the 39 passengers, including an infant and five crew members, were dead—killed instantly when the luxurious airliner crashed on farm. About a twenty minute drive from the airport, to get to the farm it crashed on."
"Also, you will be working with some Agents you haven't met before and someone named Owen Hall will take the lead on this case." Ryan explained.
There were a few groans amongst the team, "why can't we handle this ourselves?" Caleb asked annoyed. "I'm not good at making friends, and I'm socially awkward." He wined.
"It's not up for discussion, agents. Let's just work together, and be on your best behavior please." Ryan said before he left the room, shaking hands with Owen before going off to teach another class.
Owen introduced himself and asked if they had been informed about the case. "Alright, there are agents at the scene already of the Bureau's Identification Division in identifying the victims of the tragedy working together with fingerprint experts."
"I ask all of you to drive out to the scene, collect pieces of the wreckage and take them to the warehouse where they will be assembled. And we'll take the investigation further from there." Owen said looking at them. "Dismissed."
"So we're basically garbage collectors." Doyle mumbled as all of them geared up and got into the black SUVs heading towards the scene.
As the bodies were recovered, they were taken to a temporary morgue set up in the National Guard Armory. Upon the arrival of the FBI fingerprint experts, they learned that nine of the bodies had been identified by relatives and friends or by personal effects and had been removed from the armory. The remaining 35 bodies were fingerprinted and 21, or 60% of those fingerprinted, were positively identified with fingerprints contained in the vast files of the FBI.
While the rest of the team were busy picking up pieces of the wreckage, they tried to figure out how all of this fits into the bigger picture but none of them could make any sense of the scene they were currently working, and decided to follow orders to take the wreckage pieces to where they were wanted and needed.
"Come check this out." Natalie said walking over to the tail of the plane. "How can this be this be the only part if the plane that is not shattered in pieces compared to the rest of the aircraft."
"How it go down? Malfunction? Explosion?" A woman asked that they didn't know. She introduced herself as Dayana Mampasi.
"Won't be an explosion, there are no fire, or signs of burnt pieces close to the engine." Alex shook her head.
"Alex Booth." Alex extended her hand to the woman who shook it firmly.
Back at Quantico Ryan was busy wrapping up the physical fitness class he was teaching. The candidates had to swim a few laps in the pool in a certain amount of time. He was the last one at the pool to leave filling in some forms. Afterwards he headed to the mens locker room to get his gym bag and head back to the office, when a sound behind him make him turn around.
The same woman who was asking a lot of questions in the previous class was standing behind him freshly showered wrapped in a towel.
"Uuhhmm, this is the mens room." Ryan said turning around grabbing his things. The woman didn't leave and when he was about to leave she was standing in front of him. She dropped her towel revealing herself to him her legs slightly open, she never said anything, her eyes did all the talking. Ryan bent down in front of her…
Hey guys. I read a review that got me thinking. I am really sorry for spelling errors and sentence structure. I have fallen into the bad habit of not reading over the chapters after I am done writing them. Also, I had a book where I wrote summaries of main events that I want to happen in chapters and those to follow….BUT don't ask me where it is, I have no idea what happened to it or where I put it last, which is why I always ask if I wrote something in yet or not. (I am really sorry for that.) And I really appreciate your feedback and criticism guys, I do not take it negatively but if I am slacking please let me know about it I will try my best to up my game. Also thank you for your feedback and your reviews, I really love reading them and hearing that you guys still enjoy the story. Thank you for the follows and the favorites. Last thing, this case is something I read up on and it interested me so much so I tried to make it into something interesting. It's gonna be quite lengthy so I will break it up in parts to get to the end of it.
Thank you for reading
