"Alright, I have bad news and good news. The plane crash we were investigating is something of the past now." Maranda said looking at the agents in front of her, seeing the confused look in their eyes.

"What does that mean?" Alex asked trying to stifle a yawn. They didn't have much sleep the night before because Asher was up all night. Not being fussy but he just did not seem to be tired.

"I mean those above me decided that the case were too complex and decided to take over. So all your time and effort are wasted as they will start doing their own investigation on the plane crash, starting from scratch." She explained and the room erupted into chaos as everyone put quite a lot of blood sweat and tears into that case and now it was down the drain.

"So, as of right now I suggest that you use this day wisely, catch up on some admin we will resume a normal workday tomorrow."

Before Alex decided to get up to date with admin she phone Ryan to see how he was doing and if she should make an appointment at the doctor, and when he did not answer she became worried and made a quick drive home during her lunch time. With some special permission and a lot of bribery she was allowed to work from home since she didn't not have any cases to work on at the moment. Sometimes it helps when your husband is a Special Agent and you can share the perks. Knowing her friends will give her hell for this and she'll probably have to repay them with some sort of lunch of their choice.

Ryan laid in bed having no idea why he got sick over night. He was perfectly fine the day before and now it felt like every muscle in his body was aching. And as much as he loved his son he was tired beyond words, but that little man did not give them a lot of sleep the previous night.

Alex opened the front door calling out to him but he did not answer and when she made her way upstairs she saw why he did not answer. He laid in bed wrapped up like a burrito in the blankets on the bed sleeping soundly, while snoring softly. She sat down on the edge of the bed putting her hand to his forehead and felt his body heat radiating onto her hand, which was not normal at all. The touch woke him up and he opened his eyes looking at her with droopy eyelids.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine." He mumbled through a blocked nose not bothering to open his eyes again.

"Yeah you sound real fine." She replied sarcastically.

"I just need some sleep. I don't want to be rude but I'm really not in the mood to talk. My throat is on fire." He said softly and Alex smiled at her big baby.

"Alright. If you're not better by the time I'm home you're going to the doctor." She said looking down at him and he just nodded before drifting back to sleep. "Ryan did you eat?"

"Not hungry." Came his muffled reply through the blankets.

Alex left it at this but a glass of water on his side of the bed walking downstairs to do some cleaning up since there were toys laying all over the floor. So much for catching up on admin she thought as picking up toys turned into doing a load of washing. She was about to settle down when her phone rang and her heart skipped a few beats when she saw the day care's number popped up on the phone. They asked her to come get Asher as he is not well. Deep down hoping that whatever Ryan had did not spill over to her baby boy as well.

Hey guys I know it's been a while. Too long actually. Here is a new chapter it's not much but I feel like it's progress and I felt guilty for not updating in such a long time. I have lost some track of the story so I'll need to update myself on updating and picking up the story line again.
