Alex drove home with the radio playing in tje background. Her mind too occupied to listen to what was playing instead she was thinking about Ryan and when he will be discharged. It's wrong she thought but she actually needed him to be fit as a fiddle because they have a birthday party to plan for Phoebe. Grateful that it was a Friday evening and that they'd be off work for the weekend so he can rest up when he is hopefully being discharged tomorrow or maybe the day after.

She parked in the driveway and opened the front door to a house that seemes to quiet to be hers. She rounded the corner into the lounge and saw why her children were quiet. Asher was asleep on the couch with Natalie sitting close to him while Phoebe laid on the unoccupied end of the couch the two of them watching Thomas the Train. Someting new that her mother didn't know she was into. But then again who can keep track between Barney, Paw Patrol and now Thomas the train who knows what's next. Natalie looked up and smiled at Alex patting the empty space next to her.

"How's Ryan?" She asked softly not to disturb Phoebe but it was too late. The toddler got up from where she was laying on the couch and made herself comfortable in her mother's lap, ready to doze off at any moment.

"He's gonna be okay. He has pneumonia and have to stay there for observation. Hopefully he'll be home by Sunday." She explained.

"Okay. I'm gonna lay Asher down. I made some form of bacon and eggs for dinner." Natalie shrugged. "I'm gonna go home and get an overnight bag and I'll be back."

"No, you don't have to do that." Alex argued already feeling bad because Natalie looked aftwr tje kids on such short notice.

"I don't have to but I want to. I'm not gonna leave you alone. Renata is probably asleep so in the morning she'll have a friend to play with. And I'd get rid of Quade's snoring for a while." The Latina made it clear that there were no use arguing with her.

" Thank you. "Alex smiled as her friend took Asher upstairs to place him in the crib.

"Where dada?" Phoebe asked noticing her dad's absence.

"He's a sicky bear remember? But tje doctors are making him better so he can be home soon." Alex explained, the once sleepy Phoebe now seemingly awake.

"I talk to him?"

"Okay we can do that." Alex said FaceTiming her husband hoping he will pick up so Phoebe can talk to him before bed.

The phone were ringing for a while before a familiar face appeared and Phoebe's smile lit up. "Dada! Where you?"

"Hey Pheebs. I'm in hospital." Ryan said looking at his wife through the phone and Alex shook her head to show that she hadn't told Phoebe about it yet.

"Come home. You have bed here also. Why you not here Dada?" The toddler rambled."

"I wasn't feeling well. But I'm better and I promise I'll be back in my own bed soon. A…nd…" before je could finish his sentence he started coughing again upsetting Phoebe in the process as she started calling his name and he didn't answer.

"Hey dada's gonna be fine. He's gonna be alright." Alex said kissing Phoebe's hair still holding the phone to show her that her father was fine when he appeared on the screen again.

"Shouldn't you be in bed already?" Ryan asked her trying to be polite because he was actually out of breath at the moment and didn't want to scare his daughter or his wife again like he did a few moments ago.

Phoebe nodded, "I go sleep now now. Gud Night dada." Shw waved to hetr fatjer on the other side of the screen.

"Goodnight Pheebs. I love you."

Once Phoebe left the room he looked at his wife. "Where's Asher? Are you gonna be okay on y…our own?" He asked concerned about her safety when she is equally worried about him.

"He's asleep. Natalie's staying over. You should get some rest also. I'll see you tomorrow." Alex said not wanting him to keep talking since he was so short of breath. Ryan nodded and mouthed tje words I love you to her before ending their FaceTime session
