Hello everyone and welcome to a new chapter of "The Avenger's Titan", yes welcome back to this unusual story that we love. And for those wondering yes, I'm still alive and so is this story. Sorry I haven't updated in a while, college is taking a lot of my time and I have little time to work on the story, so sorry about that one.
First things first let's check the reviews, or review since there's only one:
KaijuMaster19: Prince of the Monster, get wings when born. Why? Because one, my OC my rules, two we're talking about the offspring of a radioactive lizard that's millions of years old and it's the size of a building I'm pretty sure that logic doesn't apply to this scenario, and three this a fanfiction, what did you expect? And no, there's no "dragon-mom", Godzilla made Ian on its own, but details about that event later on.
So with that out of the way, let's get started.
Chapter 7: Just a normal day.
Early in the morning, in a small apartment a young boy could be found lying in his bed, his face showing that he was sleeping peacefully, when a figure entered the room approaching the boy and whispered to him.
"Ian. Ian it's time to get up." The man told him with a small smile
Ian began to stir awake and notice the man besides him and with a sleeping smile
"Hi Steve."
"Did you sleep well?"
"Yep." He yawn as he looked at his surrounding, before frowning a little. "Aw, I missed you again." He pouted
Steve couldn't help to chuckle at this, he and Ian had arrived to their new apartment in D.C. a few months ago. And ever since officially joining S.H.I.E.L.D, he has a couple missions and always returned back home around midnight or early in the morning.
And each time, Ian had tried to stay awake until he came home, but no matter what he did, he would always fall asleep and Steve would always find him sleeping in the couch all sorts of things of drinks, all the way from sodas, chocolate milk and he even recall once he had found a mug half-full of coffee but do to his titan metabolism it didn't worked, Ian confessed that it tasted really bad and asked how he could drink it which made the super soldier laugh and explaining it was a "adult-thing". Steve was touch by his attempts to be awake for his return and would always carry the boy to his bed, all while wearing a wide smile.
"You don't have to wait until I get back home to go to bed." Steve told him
"But I want to be ready welcome you home, you always go and do all those missions and I want to make sure that when you return you can just have a good rest and a good night. Just wait, one day I'll make it." Ian declared
"I'm sure you'll get it someday. But now get ready, we have a long day ahead."
"We're getting breakfast before going to the recording thing or after?"
"We have to get there in an hour so we'll get it later, but we can take a fruit if you want." Steve said as he left the room, leaving Ian to get ready for the day.
Ian got up from the bed showing his star wars pijama before going to the bathroom to take a quick shower. He was still weird out by it but he could see why they made it, the hot water falling on him was very relaxing. After the shower he went and put his clothes which consisted in a black shirt, a pair of blue jeans, red shoes and a hoodie that looked like a medieval armor which could cover most of his face, and also looked awesome in the boy's opinion.
Once dressed up he went to the kitchen and picked both an apple and an orange, before making his way to the living room where Steve was waiting for him.
"Ready." Ian announced as he approached Steve, who was wearing a blue jacket, white shirt, and blue jeans, and handed him the orange and left the apartment.
Once outside they made their way to Steve's motorcycle and went to the studio. Ever since he revealed who he was, Steve has been asked to been in a number of shorts and videos all the way from educational material all the way to advertisement, he would be asked to put the suit he used during the battle of New York and speak in front of the camera about whatever he was asked about.
And every time we would bring Ian, he saw this as an opportunity to get the boy to see more of the world and to get more used with new people. And at first the boy was nervous and during the first days, he would be with Steve all the time, but in time, he got used to it and now was more than comfortable being around the studio.
After a little journey on motorcycle the duo finally arrived to the studio. The moment they entered the building they were greeted by a group of people who went straight at Steve and started to give him the details about the shouting of the day. Apparently this was a short day as they would just reshoot a couple of scenes and make one final scene for a high school, luckily for Ian who was getting a bit hungry.
A couple of minutes later, Steve had his suits ready and stood outside of the cameras view waiting for the director indication. Meanwhile Ian could be found besides a bunch of people looking at screens showing what the cameras were shouting, and then the director gave Steve the signal to start.
"Hi I'm Captain America. Here to talk to you about one of the most valuable traits a soldier or a student can have. Patience. Sometime patience is the key to victory, sometimes it leads to very little and it seems like it's not worth it and you wonder why you nou-nou blagh wait…Sorry." Steve said
"Cut! Okay everyone, back from the top! Clip 34 scene 1 take 2."
"Sorry everybody." Steve apologize
"Don't worry Captain, it happens to everyone." The director reassured him "Okay everyone quiet on set. Start shooting in 5, 4, 3, 2."
And so they continued to shoot the scene, before continuing with reshooting the other scenes and after an hour of shooting, Steve had finally finished all the shooting of the week and left with Ian to get a well-deserved breakfast at a restaurant not far from there.
"So what can I get you?" a red haired waitress asked
"I'll take scrambled eggs and a coffee please." Steve said
"Alright, for you sweetie?" she asked Ian who was looking at the kids menu.
"I'll take one of everything please." He answered
This earned a shocked look from her, she looked at Steve, who had a small grin and just nodded at the waitress, who still confused left.
"Good thing it was short day." Ian said
"You're really excited to go to the museum aren't you? Or were you just hungry?" Steve said with a knowing smirk as got Ian a little embarrass as his stomach answered for him
"Yeah, I'm hungry…But I'm also excited for the museum, I've never been in a museum before. I wonder what things are inside, how long do you think it's going to take us to see all of it? Do you think we can do it in a few hours? Or will we stay all day in there? What things will get to see once inside?" Ian said showing his excitement
"I don't know, I've never been there, but I heard it's very big. I think it will take a lot of time to see all of it."
"I can't wait. Steve did you had to this before?"
"Do what?"
"Making videos and recording like that?"
"Yeah, something like that. When I first turned into Captain America, I didn't went to the front lines. Actually I would perform for the army of how they could help the soldiers. And they would be also some movies I appeared on."
"Cool, and what was that like?"
"Well at first, I was nervous, I had never done anything like that, but as I continued it got easier and sometimes it was repetitive but it was fun." Steve answered with a nostalgic look, remembering his time as an actor.
And then the waitress came back with Steve's order and the first of Ian's plate and started eating. As they continued eating, the rest of Ian arrived leaving all the other people in restaurant surprised that a kid could eat so much. By the time he had finished all of his food, he realized everyone was looking at him and felt uncomfortable. But a cough was heard and everyone looked at Steve who had a look that said "that's enough" in a calm yet imposing way, which manage to get everyone to look away.
"Thanks." Ian said
"Don't worry." Said Steve as the waitress came with the bill, and boy he was thankful that Fury gave him an extra cash in his payment in order to cover Ian's food, otherwise he would be running out of money before you know it. Once he had pay the bill and gave their thanks for the food, they left and hopped on Steve's motorcycle and went to visit the Smithsonian.
Ever since finding Steve talked about the museum, Ian had been talking nonstop about going the museum, he had tried entering the natural history museum back in New York a couple of times during the night, but there was always a lot of people in there every time he approached, which was strange as he never saw anyone enter but never gave too much thought about it, and now he was finally going to one.
After a small travel, they reach it and Ian was surprised to say the least, the building was very massive filled with a bunch of gardens. Before entering, Steve went to see the Lincoln memorial with Ian behind him.
"Wow, it's a big statue."
"Yeah, I thought it was going to be smaller. Do you know who that is?" Steve asked the boy
"Of course I know he is." Ian said "His the five dollar guy." This made Steve chuckle
"Well yes, he is in the 5 dollar bill, but he's Abraham Lincoln and he was president of the United States."
"Really? And was he a good president?"
"Yes, he was, he did a lot of good things. That's why they made him a statue."
"Wow, sound like a good guy. It would fun if could talk to him."
"It would be interesting." Steve said as he pulled a list of the different museums "So which one to you want to go first?" he asks showing the list
"Hmm…this one. The Na-nati-onal Air and sspa-ce museu-museum, The National Air and Space museum, that one." He said with some difficulty.
"Huh that one sound interesting, alright let's go." Steve agreed
And so they made their way inside the building and they were impressed with the amount of aircraft that were exhibited there, especially Ian. As they entered they saw a small group with a guide tour who greeted them
"Hello, welcome to the National Air and Space museum. Would you like a guided tour?" he offered the pair.
"What do you say?" Steve asked the boy who just nodded "Sure." Steve answered
"Great, please wait here while we wait for more people. We'll start in a few minutes."
The duo then stood beside the group waiting for the tour to start. Then a man besides Steve begun to look him carefully before ask him
"Um excuse me?"
"Yes?"
"Excuse me but, are you Captain America?" the man whispered
"Yes but I would prefer if it stayed between us."
"Oh yeah, sure. No problem. Hey, is he the boy from…" he whispered pointing at Ian
"Yes, he is."
"Awesome. Oh right sorry, I'll leave you two to…yeah." He whispered awkwardly, he then just stood beside them
After a few minutes, more people joined their group and soon the guide returned.
"Alright, it seems that we are complete, ready to begin our tour?" the guide asked getting a couple of "yes" and "yeah".
"Great, well I'm Alex and I'll be your guide for the day, so if you have a question during the tour ask away. So let's begin." Alex said and so they begin walking around the museum learning about the different aircrafts and spaceships. It would be an understatement to say that Ian was amazed at how many there were, all the way from the first aircrafts that looked very unsafe compared to the modern counterparts, he kind of respected the people who made them but at the same time wondered if they were "cuckoo" or something along those lines.
But then, looking at the Apollo 11 module, he determined that these were really brave and crazy. But then again he once flew to space once through an alien portal so he really couldn't say anything about it.
The tour continued seeing more and more planes and Ian was so impressed he didn't realizes how quick time had pass because before he knew it, they were at the exit.
"And that was the National Air and Space museum. Thank you for your attention I hoped you enjoyed your visit and we hope to see you soon." Alex said, and the group began to leave the building, but before they could leave, Alex stopped both of them.
"Hey sir, do you mind if I talk to you two for a moment?"
"Yeah, is there something wrong?" Steve asked
"Oh no no. It's just, it's you isn't it? Captain America and the kid from New York?"
"Yeah, why?" Steve asked and before he knew what was happening, Alex gave him a hug
"Thankyouthankyouthankyousomuch." Alex said tearing up a little
"Hey it's okay, it's okay, but why are thanking me?" Alex released him at looked at him
"It's just *sniff* my sister was in New York when the whole alien thing happened, and-and she told me and the rest of our family how you saved her from the aliens, and I just wanted to thank you for it. Both of you."
"You don't need to thank us, we were doing was anyone would've done. And we didn't do it alone so we can't take all the credit for it." Ian said
"Maybe, but I have too I mean, you people saved the world. It's the least I can do."
"We appreciated but like he said, we were just doing our job." Steve said
"Well, then keep doing it. We need you. All of us."
"Thank you. We will."
"Right, well I don't want to keep you here more so enjoy the rest of the Smithsonian and thanks again." Alex said shaking their hands before going back to the entrance of the building leaving the pair to continue with their visit of the place.
They continued their visit through many other museums, stopping every once in a while to pick something to eat. And in each museum was a wonder for Ian, it was like visiting other worlds entirely each one with something new and intriguing.
Time passed, and before they knew it, they had only one hour before the Smithsonian would close, and decided to conclude their visit of the day with the "Smithsonian Institution"
"That's a mouthful." Ian said
"Yeah, but don't worry, it gets easier more you said." Steve said as they entered the old castle, with Ian whispering Smithsonian institution over and over trying to get it right. But as he continued to practice he doesn't noticed that he separates from Steve and ends up crashing into someone else and they both end up falling.
"Oh I'm so sorry! I didn't saw you I swear! I'm sorry are you okay?" Ian said getting up and checking on the person he crashed into, not noticing his hoodie felt down, showing his real face.
"Yeah yeah, don't worry I'm…"said the person being a thin man in a black suit, black hair that was surprised when he looked at who he crashed "Wait I know you, you're…"
"Ian. Your hoodie." Said Steve as he saw what happened and helping ian. "Are you okay?" he ask them both
"Yeah sure. Wait you're captain America, I mean captain Rogers. And he's the kid form New York." Said the man getting up
"A pleasure to meet you, sir."
"The pleasure is mine and I'm Larry, Larry Daley. I mean, it's an honor to meet you, both of you, it's just wow…I'm a big fan." The now identify Larry said
"Thanks, and again sorry for crashing into you Mr. Daley."
"Don't worry about, I wasn't looking either so it's no problem. And um what are you doing here?" Larry asked
"We are checking out the museums, we arrived here in D.C. not long ago and none of us had come here so we figured we could check it out." Explained Steve
"Oh, right that makes sense. Well, don't let me keep you from continuing, it was a pleasure meeting you both." Larry said shaking their hands
"Pleasure meeting you Larry." Steve said
"Okay, see you later. No wait, hey you think you can both give your autographs. For my son Nicky, he's a huge fan of yours." Larry said taking out a notebook he had and pen
"Sure." Steve went wrote his autograph, he then handed to Ian who just wrote his name with some trouble since his writing is no better than his reading. Once finished, he showed it to Steve to check if it was any good, who was happy to see that the boy had done some progress in his writing. He then handed back to Larry who asked for photo with them, which they accepted before leaving Larry to continue with the little time they had left.
One hour later, both left the place and made their way to Steve's apartment, picking up some pizzas for dinner. They soon arrived, Steve sit on his couch when he remembered something.
"Ian! We haven't read your book."
"Oh right I forgot I'll go look for it." Ian said as he went to his room.
Ever since finding out that Ian never learned to write or read since all the English he learned was from watching humans talking and coping them and that he could just speak it, Steve had made his mission to help him, but since sending him to school could be difficult do to his appearance, Steve had to do it himself. He quickly found out that he had no idea where to begin, and asked some his fellow companions and surprisingly Clint was the most helpful out of everyone, giving Steve some advices on what books he could buy to help with Ian's writing, as well as children books and he even suggested him some movies he could watch with subtitles for him to read. To say that Steve was surprised was to say the least, and asked Clint how did he knew so much, he simply responded with "I was a babysitter". Steve could tell there was more than that but decided to leave the subject there.
Then there was Tony, who after hearing the issue he decided to help him, how you may ask? He simply said "Sure, in fact, I know exactly what to do. I'll call you when it's ready." Before hanging up leaving Steve with the doubt of just what was Tony going to make.
And in the meantime, Steve bought most of the books and even some of the movies and came up with a plan. Every afternoon he and Ian would spend around one hour reading one of the book, and another Ian would practice in his writing books, and they would end up watching a movie at dinner. But since today they had done a lot, he had decided that they could skip the writing part this time.
Ian came back with his book being an adaptation of "Little Red Riding Hood", for children that had a good balance between images and text. He sit next to Steve in the sofa and they began to read.
"So you want to start? Or I start?" Steve asked the boy
"Could you start please?" Ian said bit shy, handing him the book
"Okay, but next time you start, promise?"
"Promise."
"Alright, so Little Red Riding Hood. There was once upon a time…" and so they started. When they read a book, Steve had decided that they would each read one page before passing it to the other and so on. In time he was planning to make Ian read two page, then three until he would read all on his own, but for now one page was good.
After one hour had passed, they got ready to watch one of the movies. While Steve heated the pizzas, Ian chose what movie they would watch. And when the pizzas got ready, they began to watch The Lion King, Ian was so charmed by the movie he would completely forget to read the subtitles, and Steve could see why, for a kids movie, it was very good and had a couple of catchy songs.
When the credits started rolling, Ian released a yawn that made Steve chuckle.
"Tired?" he asked
"A little bit, but yeah."
"Alright, brush your teeth and of to bed." Steve said, picking up the plates and pizza boxes. Ian meanwhile was brushing while humming "hakuna matata". Once finished, he went to his room changing into his pijamas, he found it weird that humans had morning cloths and night cloths, but he got used to it, besides they were comfortable so who was he to judge. He got into his bed ready to sleep when Steve entered the room.
"Ready?"
"Ready."
"Alright, goodnight Ian." The super soldier said giving him a goodnight hug
"Goodnight Steve. I had a lot of fun today."
"Glad to hear that, I had a lot fun too." He responded and as he was leaving, Ian stopped him
"Steve?"
"Yeah?"
"What are we going to do tomorrow?"
"I don't know, we'll see what happens."
"Okay goodnight."
"Goodnight." Steve said as he turn off the light and close the door leaving Ian ready to go to dreamland, who still was humming very quietly and soon the young titan fell asleep after just another day in his new life that will only become more and more crazy, dangerous beyond his imagination.
But that's a story for tomorrow.
Well, that wraps it up for this chapter. I'm again sorry for taking for so long to make this but with college, then quarantine, then holidays and then trying to come up with a decent chapter of the story.
And then to make thing worse someone in my family caught the virus and I have exams next week, I'm kind of busy right now, so yeah…lovely.
But after the exams, I'll have a more or less a month of vacations, which will be plenty of time to work on a new story I've been cooking up for a while.
It's going to be a "Dragon ball X Justice League" where an unlikely character of dragon ball crashes into the JL animated series, the first one not the Unlimited. And here's a hint who it is, a guy named Toybole first showed him in his own manga more than a decade ago when there was barely any internet, but I'll give him a twist of my own in order to give it a new look for the story.
I have a feeling that it's probably not going to be very popular, and probably not many people will like it do to the character I chose but still I think it has some potential, so if it is your kind of story pleased check it out when it comes out.
However for those not interested in that one, do not worry because I already have the idea for the next chapter, it's just need a few adjustments here and there. I can even give you a little heads up about it. "The young titan will visit a new world and will begin his godly training." And for those who find it, I hope you liked the One night at the museum easter egg, I saw the movie the other day and I thought why not.
But until then that's all from my part, what did you think of the chapter, did you liked, did you hated, did you find it excellent, or the most horrible thing since pineapple in pizza? Let me know, because I love to know what you think of it.
p.s. I know many people don't like pineapple pizza, but personally I don't find too awful, it's just meh.
So take care, I hope you and your loved ones are saved, and good luck for 2021, let's hope it gets better than 2020, and I'll see you in the next chapter.
Bye bye.
