Chapter 38: Christmas Experiences As/With (A) Vampire(s)

"Goood morning, and Meeerry Christmas everyone!" Comes Micheal's exhilarating voice, resounding throughout the entirety of the school from the intercom. "Since there won't be any classes today nor tomorrow, I want the teachers and staff as well as Token Black to come to the conference room. Please be aware of any nosy students that will undoubtedly try to follow you. If you just so happen to catch a student, whether they're in your class or not, you can punish them with whatever means you deem fit. Just keep it to a minimal. Once again, teachers and staff, and the Student Council President are to report to the conference room. Be there in the next five minutes." The intercom clicks off, ending the announcement.

Kyle sighs the rising jealousy away, rubbing the sleep from his eyes one at a time. "Must he always behave like an overexcited child every Christmas?"

"Wonder what he's got planned for this year," Kenny yawns out, stretching his arms high above his head. "Hey Tweek, you wanna-" He stops himself from saying anything more when he looks over at the other blonde, around him is a depressing aura. Kenny frowns, sensing how sullen Tweek is becoming with each passing second.

"Let's leave him alone for awhile," Kyle suggests, getting up from his bed. Looking at Tweek a second longer, Kenny gets up as well, heading to his shared bathroom for a shower. Kyle spares Tweek a glance, wanting nothing more than to try to comfort him. But he saves it for a later time as he goes into his bathroom for a shower also.

"Christmas...is today, huh...?" Tweek stares blankly at his lap, a miserable frown on his face. He honestly can't believe that he forgot about one of the greatest holidays of each year, it arrived at the worst possible time of his life. Even though he's already accepted the fact that he's a vampire, it doesn't mean that he will also accept his inability to ever see his parents again.

This will be the very first Christmas he will have without them.

Just picturing the times he had spent with his mother and father during this holiday makes his heart heavy with sadness, not bothering to stop the surfacing tears within his eyes. Every Christmas, as far as he can remember, they would first open the coffee shop and serve warm beverages to the customers that stopped by. Either for to-go or while they warmed up inside before heading back out. Tweek loved that moment especially, because not only was business going well due to the numbers of customers, but everyone was happy. Seeing the bright, cheerful smiles on his parents', as well as the customers' faces made Tweek wish the moment would last forever. Then once everything had died down, which most times happened around the early evening, the family would then close the shop and head home.

Tweek wonders if they've decorated the house and put up a tree this year amid his absence, and the thought saddens him even more. His tears currently dampening his cheeks ever since the beginning of his reminiscing.

They would lavish their family time at home until nightfall. After eating dinner, they would exchange gifts to one another, then afterwards go out to explore the festivities and the decoratives around the town. It was a routine of theirs that never changed...

Until today that is.

Tweek is curious as to what they're doing right now, and what they did yesterday. Did they do any early Christmas shopping? He doesn't even want to imagine their worried faces, wondering if he'll come home today or not.

Ending his thoughts right there, Tweek lays down on his side pulling the covers over his whole body. He shuts his tear-leaking eyes, enveloping himself into further darkness. He hunches over into a fetal position.

"Mom and dad...I won't be coming home...ever again..."

He hasn't a clue as to how much time had passed, flinching when he feels soft nudging against his shoulder, but it must've been quite a while since he is no longer crying. He keeps his eyes closed and doesn't respond, knowing that it's either Kyle or Kenny.

"You wanna come with us to look at the decorations?" It was Kyle who offered.

Tweek is silent a moment longer until he mutters out, "No". He just wants to be alone to wallow in his despair.

Kyle was able to interpret what he said even though his voice was muffled by the sheets, he deepens his frown and looks at Kenny. "You go on ahead, I'll join you in a bit."

Kenny waves him off as he approaches the door. "Take your time, gonna go grab Mark and see if Stan and his friends wanna tag along with us." He shoots Kyle a grin before heading out into the hallway that's buzzing with voices and other activities, the sounds lowering in volume once the door closes.

Kyle sits himself on the edge of Tweek's bed, his back facing him. "Would you like to talk about what's troubling you?" He gets the same answer after a few seconds. Kyle turns to where he can place a hand on the crazy haired blonde's shoulder again. "I know it's not my right to push you into telling me, but it's Christmas. I don't want you to be sad nor by yourself huddled up in here."

Tweek feels his dry eyes building up with tears all over again, clenching them to prevent any more from slipping out. "Just leave me alone."

"I think you should listen to him," Luke says. "You were like this too before-"

"Which is all the more reason not to leave him be." Kyle makes a face of regret, if it hadn't of been for Kenny he would've never gotten out of his unfriendly shell. A small smile spreads across his lips. "Come with me to look at the decorations, and I won't bother you anymore." He isn't sure how to take this silence, but he eventually feels movement coming from Tweek. The blonde has decided, since Kyle will most likely not to take no for an answer a third time, to accompany the redhead. Just because he's feeling glum doesn't mean he should drag Kyle down with him, the least he can do is wander the halls looking at the Christmas decorations with him.

Kyle retracts his hand as the sheets are removed by Tweek due to him sitting up, his back still facing Kyle. Without a word, he gets up trudging towards the dresser for clothes to wear after his shower.

"I'll be waiting right here," Kyle tells him once he's walking to his and Kenny's bathroom, witnessing a sort-of pleased smile on the redhead's face through a corner-eyed glance.

Every nook and cranny of the building is embellished in the well known colors red, white/silver, green, and gold. There hasn't been a speck of black seen. So far. The janitors showed off their artistic abilities for this occasion..or Henrietta threatened them not to fuck it up.

Tweek's dead eyes become even more lifeless the longer he looks at the decorations, and hear the carefree, nonchalant chatter all around him. He diverts his attention to the floor, having seen enough of the decor. He should've stayed put in bed, regardless of Kyle's persistent pestering to get him out. He really hopes Kyle isn't planning on wandering around the entire school.

Said redhead is feeling anxious, the aura encircling his roommate is starting to get to him now. "W-wanna get some breakfast?" He asks, hoping eating some food will help cheer the boy up some. He doesn't get an immediate response, but when he does all he gets from Tweek is the shrug of his shoulders. Kyle isn't for certain if that was a yes or no, but they go to the cafeteria nonetheless. On their way there, the intercom clicks on.

"In the next fifteen minutes the cafeteria will be closed. For those who haven't eaten breakfast yet best hurry and do so now. The cafeteria won't be accessible until this evening, so the vending and drink machines will be placed out into the halls so you all can get snacks and drinks for lunch. I'll have someone monitoring them so no one goes overboard."

The instant the intercom shuts off, all of a sudden a crowd of students begin to rush towards the cafeteria hall.

"Tweek watch out!" Kyle shouts.

Before Tweek has any time to react, a passerby roughly bumps into him, being nice enough to apologize as he continues on his way to the lunchroom. Tweek ends up colliding into Kyle, who on instinct wraps his arms around the blonde's torso. Tweek feels his cheeks flushing at their position, and his body tenses, fearing that if he moves Kyle will notice.

Kyle glares at the big group for running like starving madmen, then down at Tweek, smiling softly at how well he fits in his arms. "You okay?"

Tweek flinches again, startled at how close Kyle's voice was. He doesn't meet his gaze. "Y-yeah, but umm..." He hints at their close proximity.

"Don't let him go."

"Oh, sorry." As much as he didn't want to, Kyle releases his hold around Tweek. They stand there awkwardly for a moment. "Umm how about we get some coffee instead?" That proposition perks Tweek's interests, but only a little.

"But you hate coffee."

"It's not gonna be for me."

Luke is momentarily confused, but quickly catches on to what his twin meant. "Oooooh, tryin' to win his heart with his favorite drink I see. Crafty~"

Kyle tries not to look proud as he walks them to the hall where the teachers lounge lies. He turns the doorknob, thankful that the door is unlock and opens it. They enter going over to the coffee machine situated on top of the counter next to their left, first grabbing a plastic cup. As Tweek fills his cup with mocha, Kyle reaches into a container that has small red packets in it next to the coffee machine, seizing four of them. He frowns when he recalls Tweek's disdain towards blood, he sets them down on the counter.

When Tweek sees them, he makes a face of disgust, forgetting (for a second time) that blood is the new sugar in coffee.

"You don't mind, do you?" Kyle asks hesitantly.

Tweek forces up a small smile as he shakes his head. "Not anymore, it's the only way I'll drink blood anyway."

"Which is better than not drinking any at all," Kyle says, taking his turn to get himself some coffee. "Don't want you to..ya know..." Tweek does in fact know what he was referring to, much to his chagrin. Only the sound of liquid being poured into Kyle's cup is heard over the tense silence, it stops once Kyle is done. He places his cup down on the counter next to the blood packets.

"Can you pour these in our cups while I get us a snack? We get two each." Tweek nods his head telling him that he is fine with just coffee, Kyle fighting the urge to object as he makes his way over to the snack machine in the corner of the room.

Already knowing what to get, Kyle pretends to scan over the items behind the plastic glass while he starts up a telepathic conversation with Kenny. "Where are you?"

"About to leave the cafeteria, you managed to get Tweek outta the room?"

"Yeah, we're in the teachers lounge and we're about to leave also. Where are you headed?"

"Hmmm, hang on."

While he waits for his friend's reply, Kyle pushes two buttons on the vending machine, getting a granola bar.

"We're not sure yet, me and Mark found Stan, Gary, Gregory, and Pip in the cafeteria. Ike went off with that emo kid with the long bang. I'll let you know once we figure it out."

Kyle almost forgot that Ike and Firkle are like best friends now, the fact that the always lone and emo vampire has been willingly hanging out with someone still astounds him. "Okay."

He and Tweek exit the lounge with their beverage and snack in hands, Tweek takes a small sip from his cup. "Are we done looking around yet?" He asks flatly.

Kyle didn't like his impassive tone, and there's only one thing that comes to mind that he hopes will elate Tweek's mood. "Not really, but there's one last thing I want you to see. C'mon." After quickly observing the change in the blonde's facial expression, which shows a pinch of curiosity, he motions for them to go down the opposite end of the hallway of which they came from with the nudge of his head, and they amble in that direction, walking side by side.

"So what he say?" Stan asks Kenny as they make their way out of the cafeteria. Five more minutes remain until it's closed for a couple hours.

Kenny stuffs his hands into his pants pockets, appearing nonchalant as he says, "Said he'll pass."

"Wow..." Mark mumbles, disappointed. Kenny so badly wants to tell him that it's not what he thinks, but he doesn't want to spoil Kyle's and Tweek's relationship to him. Nor ruin the redhead's chance to properly get closer to his crush.

"What about Tweek?" Stan asks again, not really caring that Kyle isn't joining them.

Kenny shakes his head. "Not in the mood to hang out either," he stops walking to look at Tweek's former friends. "And I'm sure you guys know why."

"Actually," Gregory starts, digging into the pocket of his pants to fish out a folded piece of paper. "Not sure if Tweek received this also, but here." He hands it to Kenny.

Raising an eyebrow, Kenny unfolds the paper and read it's contents, Mark leaning next to him to see it.

'I am sorry to inform you, but you and your friends will not be allowed to spend Christmas with your family and friends back home. Due to the incident which resulted in Tweek being tuned into a vampire, for the sake of our existence we've decided for you and your friends to enjoy this wonderful holiday here with us. I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience, and your parents will be notified of this so they do not worry. Don't be shocked if you see a present or two in front of the door tonight ;) I sincerely hope you all have a good if not great time today later this evening.'

Merry Christmas:

Micheal Brimestone

Written in black ink beneath the Principal's name:

P.S- I know you're an orphan Gregory, but I'd already typed and made copies of these before remembering that, and wasn't about to edit them. Still hope you have a good time later on today.

"..Damn..." Was all Kenny utters out sympathetically as he gives the paper back to Gregory.

"It's bs, but also understandable. At least our parents know, and we'll still be able to get gifts from them," Stan says, very thankful that the Principal did a thoughtful deed.

"Yeah that's the bright side of it," Mark smiles faintly, Kenny nodding his head in agreement.

"Alright, let's head to this dude's room already," Kenny says, trying not to seem eager for them to get out of the halls so they don't run into Kyle and Tweek. The group walks to Mark's room.

While walking, Gregory notices that Pip hasn't said not a word ever since he read the Principal's letter earlier in their room. And he completely understands his resentment about their situation. He and Pip both know that whatever present that appears before their doorstep will not be for either of them.

Gregory glances over at Pip, feeling a sharp pang enter his chest at the look of sheer sadness on his face. His light blue eyes ready to shed a waterfall of tears. Tentatively, Gregory raises his left hand, and gently clasps Pip's shoulder, startling him. Pip quickly wipes his eyes, then directs them at Gregory. The platinum haired blonde simply gives him a small smile, and a few soft pats before lowering his hand.

Pip stares at him a moment longer, not knowing how to read such a vague action. So he decides to focus on the smile. Slowly, Pip can feel his own lips forming into one, and he looks ahead.

This will be the very first Christmas he will not endure alone.

Tweek did not expect to feel a powerful wave of emotions as he gapes at a large white tree placed in the center of the ground floor. It is adorned in pretty blue lights with long gold and silver ribbons around it, black ornaments with scarcely placed candy canes hang on the branches, a white skirt is wrapped underneath it, and lastly is a bright golden star shining at the top.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Kyle asks, mesmerized. He's so glad that it's only the two them here. Every Christmas the tree is always decorated so elegantly.

Tweek is unable to answer, not even aware that his vision is starting to blur. A memory of him and his parents setting up and decorating their own tree displays inside his mind, and the tears come flowing out.

When he hears whimpering, Kyle looks over to see Tweek crying his eyes out. Without any thought, he embraces Tweek into a hug, dropping his untouched coffee and granola bar in the process. "It's okay, I'm right here." He leisurely increases his pressure, giving Tweek a light squeeze when he doesn't calm down.

Tweek is far too deep in sadness to comprehend anything right now, his barely finished cup of coffee lay spilled on the floor by their feet. He wants to go home, he misses his mother and father, and he knows that they miss him too. "Why...?" He asks this two more times in a wavering voice. Why did he have to be turned into a vampire? Why was he chosen to suffer?

Just why?

"I'm sorry." Kyle apologizes for being unable to give Tweek an answer, and for also showing him the Christmas tree. It was foolish of him to think that Tweek would instantly feel better after seeing it, he still doesn't know what's bothering him.

"Kyle, take him back to the room, then let me take over."

Kyle opts not to question his brother, and does as ordered. Once in their room, he sits the sobbing teen down on the bed with gentle care, whose it belongs to didn't matter, then he went to turn on the ceiling light. His back facing Tweek, he closes his eyes, giving his advancing twin a serious frown within the dark space of his subconscious.

"Don't fuck this up."

Luke stops, back to back with Kyle. "Wasn't planning on it." Then he's gone.

Now in control of Kyle's body, the teen opens his eyes to reveal scarlet iris'. He walks back and sits down next to Tweek. He stares at his lap, unable to look at the blonde's weeping face, even though he's silent now.

"Tweek, it's me Luke." Expecting the other to react violently, Luke waits for it to happen patiently. But Tweek does no such thing. He remains quiet. Luke takes this as his cue to continue. "I know why you're sad, and I wanna apologize." Fearlessly, he takes a hold of Tweek's hands, causing him to flinch at the abrupt action. He can't see it, but Tweek looks down at their clasped hands on top of his lap from under the bangs of his hair. "I am truly, deeply sorry for selfishly putting you through this grief. Because of me, you can never go back home, not even to visit. You...can't ever see your parents again. I don't expect you to ever forgive me, but I am sorry. I mean this from the bottom of my heart."

Tweek doesn't say anything for some seconds, damn right it's his fault! But thanks to his sincere apology, Luke isn't really such a heartless asshole after all. It seems he actually knows how to feel guilty. "...I still hate you."

Luke forces up a small, hurtful smile. "I know, and you have every right to." He raises one of their hands, moving his palm under Tweek's own to plant a soft kiss on the back of Tweek's hand. "But I don't regret saving you." His cheeks exploding in a bright pink, Tweek yanks his hands away, holding them near his chest. Luke chuckles. "Would've preferred it if Kyle did that huh?"

Tweek feels his cheeks getting warmer at the question. "N-no...not really..." He distracts his thoughts from picturing Kyle kissing him, though it's happened more than once by wiping his eyes until they're dry.

Luke closes his eyes, reentering the body's subconsciousness. Kyle walks up to him, sporting an approving grin on his face. "It'll take a lot of time, but Tweek will start to hate you less as long as you don't mess it up somehow."

"Can't grantee that I won't," Luke says earnestly. Kyle's smile disappears. "But anyway, take advantage of this while you still have the chance."

Kyle eyes him with stern confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Luke rolls his eyes light-heartedly. "What do you think? Just go already." He shoos him away.

Kyle regains consciousness back into his body, blinking his lime-green eyes open. He looks over at Tweek, surprised to see his blue-green orbs staring right back at him. The pair are gradually returning to their original hue. "How do you feel now?"

Pursing his lips, Tweek averts his gaze elsewhere. "I..I don't know." He can't describe his current emotions. His sadness hasn't subsided, not completely, but after hearing Luke's apology he feels...lighter? The appropriate word is not forming in his head.

"Still sad that you can't see your parents?" Kyle appears remorseful. "I'm sorry for not realizing it sooner, I wouldn't have-"

"It's okay." Tweek strains a smile through his complex feelings. "You were right, I shouldn't be sad on such a special day, and I really appreciate you trying to make me feel better." His smile drops into a frown. "Sorry it didn't work."

Kyle immediately looks unsatisfied. He wants do more, he wants to hug Tweek again, and-

"Kiss his sorrows away." Slowly, realizing what Luke just told him, Kyle makes a faint face of grimace. "Cheesy I know, but you know you wanna do it."

Well Luke isn't wrong, but he has more than just one intention to kiss Tweek. Steeling his nerves, Kyle opens his mouth to speak. "Tweek."

The instant Tweek moves his head to give him his attention, Kyle doesn't hesitate to crash his lips against Tweek's, startling the blonde greatly. He begins to make sounds of protest, Kyle grabbing his hands and pushing him down on the bed. Their lips still meshed together.

Luke face-palms, and shakes his head. "I can't believe I had to push you to do something you could've done yourself."

Once Kyle pulls back for air, Tweek glares at him through his panting. "D-dude what the hell?!"

Kyle gives him a sweet smile, admiring the blonde's blushing and flustered form underneath him. "Merry Christmas." He leans in for another kiss, happy that Tweek doesn't resist this time.

*Later In The Day*

"Good evening, and Meeerry Christmaaaas once again!" Micheal exclaims into the microphone. Some cheer Merry Christmas back over the blaring Christmas music while others are more absorbed into the foods, drinks, and desserts laid along the tables within the cafeteria. "For those that weren't punished for being nosy brats and for those that decided not to be a buzzkill this year, I hope you enjoy yourself to your hearts content. But don't dirty the cafeteria too badly, otherwise Henrietta will have you helping the janitors clean up." He starts to walk off, but suddenly inches back towards the mic. "Also the mistletoe's were Token's idea, you all know what to do with them." Winking and laughing at Token's outburst saying no it wasn't, Micheal finally walks off the stage joining Henrietta, who was accompanied by Vincent, Luther, Zerphy, and Leon.

On each side there is a long table with a white tablecloth over it, no chairs underneath them. A few circular tables from the library are scattered for enough space to wander around, each one either has a green, red, or white tablecloth with a single mistletoe on top in the very middle. Sat in one of them is a weary looking Christophe and a pleased looking Damien. It's obvious that Christophe was coaxed into coming to the party, it's been a normal occurrence since previous celebrations. Pip and Gregory are sitting at another table, Pip doing most of the talking while Gregory listens with a smile. Craig, Clyde, and Butters are busy stuffing their faces with food, they are only ever allowed come to parties and other events for good behavior, but they mainly go for the food. Very similar to another student who is far more obsessed with food than 'The Dangerous Three', right now filling himself like a stuffed pig by one of the food tables.

Leaning against the opposite food table are Kenny, Stan, and Ike. "I hope someone spiked this," Kenny says, swirling his cup before drinking some of his fruit punch.

Stan and Ike examine their juice suspiciously for a second, Ike placing his cup down on the table while Stan shrugs then takes a sip. "I'd be surprised if it wasn't," he says, feeling a tingly aftertaste. Ike settles on getting something to eat instead, a little upset that Firkle didn't want to join him.

"I wonder what Kyle and Tweek are doing right now," Kenny suddenly thinks, acquiring a sly look. His 'plan' for Kyle and Tweek to spend some lengthy alone time together went accordingly, however it only lasted a meager five minutes. At this very moment, the two are asleep.

When the sky darkens indicating that it's nighttime, most call it a night and head back to their rooms.

Once everyone is out of the halls, the lights flicker off as a black haired man wearing a Santa Claus suit without the hat approaches one of the rooms. "Can't believe I fucking have be some stupid secret Santa," he grumbles, his teal colored eyes narrowed angrily. He opens and reaches down into a brown sack he's carrying to pull out a present with a name tag on it. He sets it down on the floor in front of the closed door, knocks three times on it, then briskly goes to the next room.

Tweek stirs from his long nap after hearing the soft knocking, carefully slipping out of Kyle's secure hug. He sits up rubbing his eyes, smiling with a light blush at Kyle's sleeping face. Guess this guy can have his bold moments. Tweek gets up heading towards the door, opening it to see nobody there. He furrows his eyebrows, leaning forward to peek down both ends of the hallway but stops with a jolt when his foot hits something. He looks down.

"Hm?"

Lifting a curious eyebrow, he bends down to pick up the box, gasping when he sees his name written on it. Stepping back into the room whilst closing the door, Tweek goes to sit on his bed, setting the gift over his lap. He stares at it, wondering whom could've given this to him and what was inside it. Feeling a little nervous, he pulls off the lid, first seeing a Christmas themed envelope inside. He takes it out, written on the front in black marker is, "To our son: Tweek Tweak".

Already he can feel his eyes beginning to water, his hands slowly opening the envelope. He rids away the uprising tears so he can read what's on the letter, only for them to instantly resurface after reading the first paragraph. His parents wrote that they missed him dearly, and were immensely sad to receive news from the Principal saying that he wasn't going to be able to come home and celebrate Christmas with them. Though were extremely grateful that they could at least send him his present. It wasn't a long letter, it ends with them saying that they love him, hope to see him soon, and Merry Christmas.

The letter flutters out of Tweek's weakened grasp effortlessly, landing on the floor. Tweek's body is racking with tremors, suppressing the urge to cry out. Suddenly, a pair of arms carefully wrap themselves around Tweek's shoulders. Tweek releases pitiful whimpers as he raises his hands to latch onto Kyle's fingers, the redhead feeling his own orbs watering. Closing his eyes, a smile slowly begins to tug on Tweek's lips. This time he knows what he's feeling now.

It's happiness and sadness.

"Merry Christmas, mom and dad."
