Chapter 46: Disarray

"Okay, let's decide on what to do."

A group consisting of seven students are stood around a rectangular wooden table within the Student Council room, three on one side and four on the opposite side. Only two bookshelves near the left side wall, a single table where the teens are gathered at, a podium placed in the front with a blank whiteboard behind it occupy the room. The right side is completely bare.

Muffled shouting from out in the hallway can be heard, but the group is too focused on formulating a plan to be deterred. "What if we," a teen with long dark brown hair tied into a low ponytail and has black eyes starts. All eyes turn to him. "Try getting the administrators to help round up the students in the gym until everything settles down?"

Token crosses his arms while furrowing his eyebrows, thinking deeply. "It's not a bad idea Fenix, but considering who we're up against this time, simply hiding in the gym for who knows how long isn't gonna solve the issue any faster."

"Yeah I agree," says a medium-length redhead with periwinkle purple eyes. "Not with the Principal handling this by himself. So how about instead we help him take Mr. Valentine down?" He punches his hand, looking eager at his own plan.

A dark skinned male with his ebony colored hair also tied into a ponytail, though short, shakes his head disapprovingly. "That's reckless Remi. You're just itching to fight aren't you?"

"Of course I am! The quicker we kick his ass, the sooner this'll all be over and done with."

"But what about the vampire hunter?" Asks a teen with light brown hair that reaches down to his shoulders and has jade green eyes. "He'll pose as an even greater threat if he escapes from his chamber during all this commotion."

The rest of the six mumble in agreement at his statement.

"How about we split up then?" A spiky haired noirette with the tips dyed white and has icy grey eyes proposes. "One group will help the Principal while the other group will gather the students and staff to a safe location."

"I'm helping the Principal!" Remi shouts ardently. Fenix and Token, who are both standing beside him wince.

"We're uneven Kou," Token points out, frowning. "We need to be balanced out in order to go through with your plan."

"Let's go find Kyle then." The six teenagers' gaze shifts to an auburn haired male, one of his eyes is silver and the other is a deep red.

A look of guilt crosses over on Token's face. "But ever since I took his spot as President he's hardly come around."

"Yeah, but he's still a part of the Student Council..and the strongest among us."

A tense silence falls over them. Token breaks it with a sigh. "We don't have any other choice nor a lot of time to spare. Fenix, Nicholas, Henry, and I will escort everyone to safety while Remi, Aiden, and Kou will search for Kyle and assist Principal Brimestone."

"You think he'll cooperate though?" Aiden asks, doubtful. "He's been hangin' around that fresh turned vampire Tweek for awhile now."

"Yeah which is super weird," Remi comments.

"Every single vampire and humans lives are at stake here. He's not foolish enough to ignore that fact." The harshness in both Nicholas' voice and midnight blue eyes leaves the others momentarily speechless.

Token clears his throat. "So, are there any objections?" His peers shake their heads. "Good. Aiden and Kou, I'm counting on you two to make sure Remi doesn't go too wild out there."

"Gonna be difficult without a leash," Nicholas smirks mirthfully, earning snickers from the others except Remi.

The redhead shoots him a glare, which doesn't faze him in the least. Failing to intimidate him, he looks away, still scowling. "Tch, let's just go already."

Without anymore words, the divided teams walk out of the room to get started on their appointed tasks.

*In The Halls: Prior To What Happened In The Auditorium*

"Are you okay now?" Kyle asked, eying Tweek intently. Stan and Kenny had left a little while ago, but Kyle wasn't going to move from this spot until Tweek's anger had subsided completely. The blonde remained unnervingly silent, maintaining a transfixed gaze on the floor. His tears and the blood trails near his mouth had been wiped clean off.

Half a minute went by until Tweek finally spoke. "What..should I do?" His voice came out low and weak, as if his energy had been drained from being so emotional. Ultimately he hadn't consumed anything since he woke up. "I wanna forgive him, but I still hate him for what he tried to do."

Kyle mustered up a small smile, and lightly squeezed Tweek's hands. "That's up to you to decide. Whether you forgive him or not, I'm sure he'll understand your choice. He was in the wrong after all, so you don't have to feel pressured to come to a decision."

Slowly, Tweek raised his head to meet his boyfriend's eyes. Seeing the gentle expression on his face dissipated any remaining anger within him, and he felt himself returning the smile.

All of a sudden, a loud scream disrupts the sweet moment, greatly startling both teens. The bad feeling they had upon stepping out into the hall increases drastically. Kyle glares nervously down the hallway past Tweek. "It came from down there."

Tweek tenses, afraid to look back. "W-what should we do?"

Pressing his lips into a tight line, Kyle releases Tweek's hands. "I'll go see what happened. You hurry to the auditorium." He manages to take one step forward before one of his hands get caught in another. He looks over at the crazy haired blonde with a frown, a pleading and scared look on his pale face.

"L-let's go there together and tell the Principal."

Curling his lips into a small smile again, Kyle angles his body to face him. "I can't leave a potentially injured person be, I'm still a member of the Student Council after all."

"But-"

"Don't worry, I'll be fine."

"Then I'm coming with you." Kyle's eyes widen a little at Tweek's assertion, despite him looking scared. "I-I know you can hold your own, but..it just wouldn't feel right. I don't want nothing to happen to you." He looks off to the side, frowning uncomfortably at the thought of Kyle getting hurt.

"Tweek..." A peculiar warmth swells inside Kyle's chest, his cheeks turning a bright pink. Suddenly, his body goes rigid, as does Tweek's.

A strong gust of energy surges throughout the building.

"What the hell..is this feeling?"

Shortly after, more screaming follows, this time coming from multiple people sounding a bit distant from their current spot. Kyle composes himself from the shock, gritting his teeth. "C'mon." He pulls Tweek along, sprinting towards the source they heard the first outburst come from. After passing two empty corridors, they reach the last one and round the corner. Stopping when they spot a hunched over figure sat on their knees in the middle of the hall. Kyle and Tweek approach them with cautious strides, hearing constricted whimpering coming from the black haired male wearing only a white dress shirt, black pants, and matching colored shoes; his arms crossed as if he's cradling something.

Kyle instantly recognizes the vampire. "Craig?" He calls out in a surprised hushed tone.

The noirette stiffens upon hearing Kyle's low voice over the shouting in the background. Very slowly, Craig begins to lift his head, bright red eyes eventually peeking out from underneath the dark fringes of his hair, a clear trail of tears staining his cheeks. His wide-eyed blank expression morphs into a sharp glare once he catches sight of Kyle and Tweek. He bares his fangs, a flash of lightning from a nearby window making his vibrant orbs appear similar to a feral beast. He stands up with a growl, his arms still seemingly holding an invisible object.

Kyle stares at the taller teen with a bead of sweat trailing down the side of his face, he's never seen him like this before. "W-what's gotten into him?" He hears Tweek whisper.

"I don't know, but we'd better be prepared in case he tries something," Kyle replies back, keeping a trained eye on Craig and making Tweek even more nervous. Kyle then notices that Craig's boyfriends aren't around, surely them not being here brought about this kind of reaction out of the noirette.

The semi-silence around them is disconcerting. Craig is seething with rage, his scarlet eyes boring into one of the vampire teens before him. "...You fucking bastard..." A deep rumble of thunder sounds close by.

Before any of them knew it, Craig lunges himself at Kyle.

/

Stan and Kenny were a few steps away from reaching a pair of grey colored doors when they spotted Butters, who's standing in front of them.

"Butters?" Said blonde jolted out of his statue-like state with a flinch, spinning around with a mien of uneasiness. As the two of them stopped, before Kenny could question the rare expression, Butters spoke first.

"W-we need to get away from here, and fast!" Without wasting a second, he darted in the opposite hallway, getting a very bad feeling regarding Craig and Clyde.

Stan was left confused by Butters' troubled statement, he looked over at Kenny to see him staring at the auditorium doors with a scrutinizing glare. "What did he mean by that?"

Kenny was silent a moment longer. "We'd better get to someplace safe." Turning around, he seized Stan's hand, and took off into a light run. "It's about to get really dangerous in the auditorium, but first we need to warn Kyle and Tweek." Stan frowned anxiously, not ready to see Tweek again so soon after apologizing to him.

The moment they're a few meters down, a chill slithers down Kenny's spine and he comes to an abrupt halt. Forced to do the same, Stan gives him a perplexed stare. "Why'd we stop?" Kenny doesn't answer him, too focused on figuring out the cause of the overwhelming wave of magic he just felt. He knows where it came from, but not the exact source. He doesn't like this feeling not one bit. A flood of muffled screams erupt from behind the double doors of the auditorium, disrupting him out of his musing.

Immensely startled, Stan glances back, only to see the doors shut tight. He returns his gaze at the blonde beside him, suddenly feeling nauseous. "K-Kenny?"

Gritting his teeth, Kenny decides to teleport them to where Kyle and Tweek are. However attempting to do so proves inaccessible, rendering him dumbfounded. "What the hell?" He tries to teleport again, only to get the same failed result. "Shit..." He tries to contact Kyle via telepathy, but gets this numbing buzz inside his head instead. Shaking his head to clear the feeling, he releases Stan's hand. "I can't teleport nor use telepathy." He turns to the noirette, making a concerned face at his sickly appearance. His condition seems to have worsened a little. Without any warning, he places a hand around Stan's back, bends down slightly to grab his legs, then hoists him up bridal style.

Stan ends up dropping his water bottle from the unexpected action, a deep pink tinting his cheeks. "W-what are you-"

"Hang on tight."

Just as the doors behind them fly open, the resonating screams followed by over a dozen rapid footsteps filling the silent corridors, Kenny takes off down the hallway. However not at the speed he was expecting. "S-seriously?! I can't use super speed either?!" He sweatdrops, letting out a forced nervous chuckle. "Well this is embarrassing." What an epic fail.

"Not as embarrassing as being held like a girl," Stan grumbles, pouting. "Could've at least warned me."

"You wouldn't have agreed even if I did, but you know you're enjoying this." Stan doesn't respond back, neither denying nor conceding to his last statement. Smiling softly, Kenny pushes himself to go as fast as he can, he'd hate to get run over by the frightened vampires behind them. He can't allow for Stan to get hurt, not when he looks so ill. He frowns. "Stan, how're you feeling?"

"Embarrassed," comes the teen's monotonous reply.

"I'm being serious, you don't feel sick or anything?"

Stan hardens his lips into a line. "I..did feel a little queasy, but not anymore." The stomach-churning sensation hasn't ebbed in the faintest.

Kenny makes an uncertain face, he doesn't want to take any chances. Upon reaching a four-way intersection, he takes a detour. Several vampires turn in the same direction as they're going, while most keep running straight- making a mad dash towards the foyer.

"Umm, where are you going?" Stan asks confusedly.

"Taking you somewhere you can rest," Kenny answers, keeping an eye out for a white door.

"What?" Stan stares up at him incredulously. "How can I rest with all this shit happening?!"

"Kenny!"

Hearing his name being called over the incomprehensible clamor, Kenny glances back to see a familiar brunette pushing past the small crowd. Relieved to see his friend, Kenny nudges his head signaling him to follow. With a nod indicating that he understood the subtle gesture, the brown haired teen picks up speed to catch up.

While Kenny escorts him to wherever he has in mind, Stan fights to prevent himself from succumbing to sleep. Despite the panic and confusion, he feels they are only tiring him out even more. And being carried in the blonde's arms is doubling the feeling. He soon finds it strange that he's not at all worried about the possibility of being dropped, not when he's being held so securely. Kenny's grip is firm, but not to a point where it's causing any discomfort. Stan already acknowledged the guy's benevolence, he's been nothing but nice, humorous, and honest ever since he and the others arrived to this school.

After a while, he notices Kenny starting to slow down. Blinking a few times, he inspects where they are, instantly spotting a white door near the right. He also notes the lack of voices, seems they'd lost them at some point.

Kenny stops in front of the infirmary, as does the brunette a second later, standing side by side. There's a pause of silence, neither vampire is out of breath.

"Why'd you-" The brunette cuts his question short upon seeing a black haired human in his friend's arms. "Oh never mind."

"How pissed do you think the old man'll be when he sees his door busted down?" Kenny asks, sounding serious.

Dark blue eyes slightly gape at him. "Super pissed dude. He threw a fit when you made that crack in the wall remember?"

Kenny definitely does remember, and the memory almost makes him laugh. Of course Dr. Kero would suspect Kenny right off the bat as the culprit, Kyle knows how to regulate his temper unlike him, plus the redhead was already in enough trouble as is that day. Needless to say, Kenny got an earful from the male nurse the next day, the next time he damages his office he'd be banned from ever entering unless gravely injured or sick.

"Yeah that sounds about right. But it's the only way we can get in sooo..." Without any hesitation, Kenny lifts a leg and kicks the door with enough force to knock it off it's hinges, Stan wincing at the harsh sound. He feels Kenny faintly caress his arm, as if he's apologizing for startling him, and he blushes a near deep red.

Kenny and his vampiric friend stare at the fallen door in silence for a moment. "If the weird shit that's going on right now doesn't kill you, Dr. Kero surely will." Kenny bursts out laughing while stepping into the room, the brunette shaking his head while following.

"So what exactly's goin' on?" Kenny carefully lowers Stan down on the first bed. "You were in the auditorium right?"

The brown haired teen observes the noirette's flushed face for a split second before directing his gaze towards Kenny while answering, "Yeah, and well turns out Mr. Valentine's the cause of all this."

Kenny looks at him with a surprised blink of the eyes. "Wow seriously?! Didn't see that comin'."

"I'm pretty sure nobody did. It all happened so fast. Him and Principal Brimestone exchanged a few words then all of a sudden something started glowing from the stage, giving off this intense presence of magic. Then the Principal told us to get outta there, and everybody immediately jumped up from their seats and rushed towards the doors. Not gonna lie I wanted out just as badly as they did. It was crazy." He then knits his eyebrows in thought. "I could be wrong, but I think whatever that was on the stage disabled all of our basic abilities."

Kenny copies his expression. "Basic abilities huh?" He couldn't use teleportation, telepathy, nor his enhanced speed yet he managed to kick the door down with relative ease. Pushing the matter aside, he tries to use one of his personal powers. His eyes start brightening in a soft honey color as does a visible part near the upper left side of his collarbone, though it's yellow. "Well at least I can still do this." His eyes return to their normal hue, and the light from his skin fades away. "But not being able to teleport or use telepathy will be a huge pain." He groans.

"Better those than our own special abilities," the brunette shrugs. "By the way, where's Kyle?"

Realization dawns on Kenny at the reminder of the redhead. "Oh, I was just about to go look for him. You mind lookin' after Stan for me? Oh and Stan this is Mark, forgot to introduce you guys haha." Stan appears to not have heard him, seemingly lost in thought as he stares past the doorless doorway. Kenny notices with a slight frown. "Stan?" He lightly taps the teen's shoulder for his attention.

Stan snaps out of his daze with a flinch, looking to see both vampires staring at him. His cheeks feel an extra pinch of warmth. "W-what?"

"This is Mark, another friend of mine," Kenny reintroduces.

"O-oh hi," Stan greets awkwardly. His lips curling into a small friendly smile, Mark nods his greeting in return.

"Lemme find some medicine before I leave." Kenny is only able to take one step before something stops him, looking back to see a hand latched onto the back of his blazer.

Realizing what he'd done five seconds later, Stan quickly lets him go, lowering his gaze to his lap. "I-I'm fine. I don't need any medicine." He straightens his lips into a tight line. "Jeez what's with me?"

"..." Kenny obviously doesn't look convinced, but he doesn't have a lot of time to be wasting trying to coax Stan into doing something he doesn't want to. He looks away with a sigh, then ambles out into the hallway. "Well lie down and get some rest at least." He trusts Mark will get Stan to take some medicine in his stead.

"Be careful out there," Mark says, a hint of worry in his voice.

Shooting him a reassured thumbs up, Kenny walks out while picking up the door. It takes a couple tries as well as some swear words, but he manages to stabilize the door to appear intact. He runs off to find Kyle and Tweek.

Once Kenny's gone, a very awkward silence engulfs the nurses office - the rainfall failing to soothe the mood while the infrequent thunder and lightning only worsening it.

Ike jolts awake to the sound of screaming accompanied by a rumble of thunder, he shoots upward into a sitting position. Biting his tongue to keep from screaming himself when he sees someone in bed with him, quickly recognizing it's Firkle, who's also sitting up. The vampire's apparent right eye is fixated at the door to notice his sudden rousing.

Ike follows his gaze. "W-what's going on? Why are people screaming?"

Firkle purses his lips. "Something happened in the auditorium."

Ike raises a confused eyebrow. "The auditorium?"

"Yeah, the Principal made an announcement for everyone to go there some time ago cuz Mr. Valentine said so. It's a really good thing we stayed in here." Although the unusual feeling from earlier has been bugging him relentlessly.

Ike gives him a light glare. "So you weren't even gonna wake me up had nothing happened?" He can't believe he slept for this long, he didn't think he was that tired.

Firkle looks to him with a warm smile. "You were sleeping so peacefully, there was no way I'd wake you up to go see some pointless execution." He looks away as his smile disappears. "Besides, you needed it after what happened yesterday."

Knowing instantly what the other noirette is referring to, a blush surfaces on Ike's cheeks and he looks down at his lap. "S-sorry." Stupid storm, exposing his greatest fear to Firkle of all people and embarrassing him like that.

Firkle shakes his head. "You don't need to apologize. I already kinda figured you were scared of thunder by the way you reacted out under the breezeway yesterday."

Feeling an increase in heat within his cheeks, Ike glowers at the sheets over his legs. "You probably think it's silly huh? To be afraid of some harmless loud sound."

Firkle frowns at his hurtful tone. The sounds in the hallway are gradually toning down. "No, everyone fears something."

His cheeks slowly returning to their original shade and his lips curling into a sad half-smile, Ike looks up and over at Firkle, not able to discern the gleam in his violet eye. He looks away. "Yeah, you're right."

All of a sudden, the door flings open and rushing in are Firkle's roommates, Pete and Joey. Pete slams the door closed, turning around to see Ike and Firkle in the young vampire's bed.

"Knew you two would still be in here," Pete says, approaching his own bed.

"What happened?" Firkle asks, his expression calm.

"Mr. Valentine's trying to kill us!" Joey answers, flopping back on his bed.

Pete nods, sitting down near the edge of the mattress facing the two boys. "Yeah pretty much. Don't know how long the Principal can distract him for so we can't stay in here for too long."

Firkle tsk's in annoyance. Ike frowns uneasily. "Just the Principal? What about his assistants?" Ike asks.

Pete shrugs. "They weren't there." A minute long silence follows.

"We should go look for them then," Firkle suggests, earning bewildered stares from the three boys. No one says anything for some moments.

"But..what about the vampire hunter?" Ike inquires.

"He also wasn't there," Joey says. "We don't know if he's still chained up or not amid this chaos."

Appearing uneasy, Pete crosses his arms. "It'd be too risky going out there if the hunter's on the loose."

"And it's too risky staying in here for him to eventually find us," Firkle argues.

The two stare at each other silently for a moment or two, then Pete heaves a sigh, knowing full well that he's right. "Okay fine, but before that you felt that odd sensation earlier right?" Firkle nods, while Ike looks confused. "Well turns out we can't use telepathy or teleportation because of it."

Firkle appears shocked by this. "What?"

"Yeah, we tried teleporting here but couldn't," Joey adds in.

"I don't know if those are the only ones effected, but we can worry about that later." Pete rises onto his feet. "Let's go search for Ms. Biggle and Mr. Ashton."

"Wait what about the human?" Joey quickly asks.

"Ike is coming with us obviously," Firkle says, glaring at him while getting out of bed.

"That's if he wants to." Pete looks at the boy. "Do you Ike?"

Ike suddenly feels pressured, even more so when Firkle gives him a faint pleading look. "I..." Of course he wants to go with them, but his friends, what if they're wondering where he is right now. No, undoubtedly they are since he didn't go back to his shared room yesterday. Knowing Pip, he's probably worried the most about him than the others. Then again, if he goes with these guys he might spot them somewhere in the halls. It's a slim chance of it happening, but it's still worth giving a shot. Ike hopes they're alright also. "Sure, I'll tag along." He sees a quick shift in Firkle's expression, now appearing content with his answer. Joey just shrugs nonchalantly, and gets up to join Pete by the door. Shooting Firkle a smile, Ike gets out of bed and scans the floor for his shoes, only to see them right by his feet. He puts them on.

Pete opens the door and steps out into the empty hallway, Joey followed by Firkle and Ike doing the same. Ike shuts the door. "We'll check Ms. Biggle's office first," Pete declares.

"Can we check Mr. Ashton's instead?" Joey nearly pleads, shuddering at the mere image of the woman's 'office'.

Pale lilac colored eyes stare into his orange ones blankly for a second. "Dude it doesn't matter where we go first so c'mon."

Firkle gently takes Ike's hand into his, and the four of them run up the hall.

Gregory, Pip, and Gary are stood on the rooftop, two out of the three shivering under the cool raindrops pelting down on them. They've been up here for approximately ten minutes now, which was long enough for the screaming to be drowned out by the rain and thunder.

"W-what are we gonna do n-now?" Pip asks. "L-look for S-Stan and Ike?" He and Gary look to Gregory for his answer.

His arms crossed with one hand holding his sheathed cutlass, Gregory scrunches up his face. Ike never returned to their room yesterday, and neither did he show up for first period- or probably any of his classes throughout today. "He couldn't be possibly still looking for that book, could he?" He breathes out a heavy sigh. "I have a few places in mind as to where they could be, but there's no guarantee that they're together though." Unfolding his arms, he saunters over towards the metallic door, Pip and Gary following him. Gregory opens the door, and starts going down the stairs while pushing his wet bangs back. Gary, being the last one to enter, closes the door.

Very faint voices can be perceived somewhere within the building under their footsteps.

"I want you two to stay close, we can't let our guard down," Gregory advises sternly. Once he steps off the last step, he surveys ahead then does the same to both ends of the hallway. "The last thing we need is for someone to take advantage of us in this hectic mess." He walks forward, the two blondes heeding his words as they tail behind him.

Neither say a word as they traverse the halls, Gregory being on the highest alert for any kind of threat that springs up.

"Uggh, where the hell is heee?" Someone groans, causing the three teens to come to an instant standstill.

As Pip and Gary begin to panic, Pip unaware of one of his hands going to grip the back of Gregory's blazer, Gregory narrows his eyes and nips his bottom lip, preparing himself to draw out his weapon. There are three doors along the hall they're in, but he gets the suspicion that they're all locked and they can't take the chance of trying the doorknobs to check. Creating even the tiniest sound will put them in danger. He turns his head to the side while placing a finger over his lips, signaling for them to keep quiet. Hesitantly, they nod.

"With everyone in the hallways, it's difficult to pinpoint his exact location," a different voice says, sounding equally exasperated and a bit closer. The three humans are so focused on the unknown persons up ahead in the right side corridor to notice a black haired figure behind them a couple meters away.

"Plus we can't teleport or use telepathy for some reason," says a third voice.

Three pairs of dark colored shoes peek out from behind the corner, shortly followed by the owners. "Why don't we just-" The trio comes to a sudden halt as a redhead stops his statement short upon glancing down the hallway Gregory and the others are in, but not at them directly. Unlike the other two beside him as they all turn to face the way that they're looking in, the red haired teen suddenly gets an elated look across his face at a male calmly sauntering towards their way, a similar expression on his wan face.
