Huey stood outside the hospital smoking some of his product, just looking at people around him. There were patients in wheelchairs getting pushed around by their family members, looking as if they were glad someone had actually taken them out the hospital bed, despite the bitter winds that were blowing. Nurses and doctors were smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee which he saw the irony in since health care professionals go on and on about the dangers of cigarettes but will happily smoke it outside their work, as if their own patients won't see. Then you had the visitors, the worried looks on their faces before they stepped inside, trying to keep a brave face on for whoever they were going to visit. Their sick son, sick mother, dying grandfather. Who knows? All Huey knew was that he wanted to be far away from this place as possible, it was not somewhere he wanted to be. Plus, he chose to limit his hospital visits because that raises alarms, which is where Alex and Faith came in. They worked as the gangs doctors to avoid needing to go hospital unless absolutely necessary and only then.
"You going to stand out here or are you going to find your way inside?"
"You know I don't like hospitals."
"No one really does but I work here so I gotta like it sometimes." Jaliyah stepped up to her cousin who took another pull from his blunt.
"You want?" He offered.
She shook her head. "Nah, I got surgery in about 2 hours. Trying not to smell like weed and have red eyes before I go in."
He shrugged before finishing what was left. He blew the smoke away from his cousin before turning to face her. "How you know I was here?"
"Well, as I was in the cafeteria getting something to snack on, one of the nurses told me my 'sexy cousin with the big ass afro and his fine self' was standing outside." She regretfully answered, making Huey laugh. "Damn I hate when people wanna tell me how good-looking you guys are." She said, referring to the countless times she had to shoo people away from her once they started talking about how attractive her family was. It was a recurring thing and it was very annoying. "So what your big ass afro self-doing here anyway? You better not be making me go through files again." She questioned him before picking up a chip from the bag she just opened. She shouldn't have done it the first time but she actually had little regret for what she did once she realised how much it helped Huey's theory. Now there was a distant aunt they were just waiting to meet and the one specific clue came from her.
"Nah not that. I already thanked you for that... I'm here to visit someone."
"Who? Who's hurt? Who's sick? Is it granddad?" Jaliyah threw at him, ready to run back inside. If she found out someone she knew and loved was currently inside getting tended to and she didn't know, she was about to be very upset and maybe cause a ruckus.
"Nah no family." He shifted his weight. "I'm here to see Carl. I dropped him here a while back."
Jaliyah crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Huey as she recognised the name. "Oh I know who that nigga is. Motherfucker was half dead when you dropped his ass off here. What? Alex wasn't good enough to help him?" She took a seat on the bench that was unoccupied and far from other people so Huey joined her.
"As you said, the nigga was half dead, there was no way he would've survived if I brought him to Alex." He told her.
"You know, I honestly forgot about him. His sister nearly jumped me when they heard Dr Freeman was trying to save her brother. I got kicked off the case after that shit." She informed him which made him feel guilty. The name Freeman really had its ups and downs.
"So what was his injuries?" He asked, knowing Mary wasn't going to tell him about her brother's condition.
Jaliyah took a deep breath before listing off the injuries she remembered he had. "Bleed on the brain, broken cheek bone and jaw, 3 broken ribs and 4 stab wounds, mostly shallow but still needed stiches. Oh and the lack of a digit or two, can't forget about that."
Huey leaned back on the bench and rubbed his thighs. "Shit. That much."
"He's lucky he survived and doing as well as he is doing. His jaw is still wired shut and he can barely write because of his brain surgery. Whoever fucked him up, fucked him up good." She said truthfully.
"Well that person might've been our aunt."
Jaliyah took a look at her cousin in confusion but when he saw his facial expression didn't waver, her face changed to shock. "You don't think it was her, do you?"
He shrugged. "For some reason, this feels like her. That's why I'm here, to ask Carl if it was her."
"You really want to ask Carl if it was Carmen who hurt him? How are you going to do that?"
"Just by asking him."
"His mouth is wired shut, he can barely write and his sister hates your guts. Plus you don't even know what room he is in." She pointed out.
Huey stood and Jaliyah followed suit. "He can nod or shake his head and he can try and write what he can. For his sister, I saw her leaving before you came outside. She was on the phone saying that she was going home to collect some things before coming back. They live 14 minutes away so that gives me at least a half an hour to talk to him." He checked his watched to look at the time. "I now have about 10 minutes with him. Maybe less, she's a crazy driver. As for the room number..." He smirked and slowly turned to her. "That's where you come in."
Her eyes grew wide and she rapidly shook her head. "No no no! I can't be breaking hospital policy for your dumb ass again!"
"Alright, I was just offering. Just point me in the direction of that nurse that called me fine and sexy, I could get her to help me, no problem." He causal requested.
Jaliyah squinted at Huey in annoyance. She hated when her cousins did this to her. They took advantage to her willingness to help anyone and that's why she always wanted to fight them. She just hoped her first name wouldn't get dragged into the mess.
"Fine. Come on."
She stomped away from him as he nonchalantly walked behind her bothered self. He knew he shouldn't be asking his family that had a legal occupation to do him such a favour but he needed to talk to Carl. It was important that they talked and this might be the only chance he got to do so.
It didn't take them long to get him to Carl's room which Jaliyah was still not happy about. "Thank you."
"Annoying ass nigga. So damn trifling." She cursed at him. "If anyone asks, you never saw me, I never saw you. I didn't tell you where this nigga is."
"I already know the deal Jaliyah."
"Good."
The two gave each other a fist bump before parting ways as if they never saw each other.
Huey rolled his shoulder, preparing himself before stepping inside the hospital room. Through the door laid Carl with a bandage wrapped around his head and wires coming out from his body, connecting to the different machines in the room. Then there were the bandages on his face from where his skin was ripped open because of whatever Carl was hit with, Huey guessed it was brass knuckles, he recognised the marks from when he's used it on his own victims.
The look of shock was all over Carl's face and Ghost had no idea why that was.
"You look surprised. You didn't think I would come visit you?" Was the first thing Ghost asked. The slow head shake from Carl said it all, there was fear behind his eyes as well. "There's no reasons to be scared, I ain't here to kill you off or some shit." He told the patient. "I just came to ask a couple of questions."
Carl looked at him cautiously, wondering what Ghost could possibly want with him. He was injured and in the hospital, he was just disposable right now but he just nodded instead.
"Was it a male or female that messed you up?" Ghost started off, getting straight to the point. There was no point in asking how he felt because it was pretty obvious the guy was no where close to being fine. "Male?" Carl shook his head slowly. "So a female?" He nodded his head as best as his injury would let him. Ghost could see the embarrassment in his eyes and it made no sense. "There's no shame in this shit. You've seen Midnight right? She fucks up people twice our size, don't mean shit." Ghost telling him that allowed Carl to feel more relaxed in his thoughts. He had heard about Midnight and how she was force to be reckoned with. For Ghost to speak highly on her meant she was the real deal. "Now I need you to think about this person... did she resemble me, Reezy, Dee and Tri?" He asked the burning question, stepping forward to Carl so he could get a better look at his face.
Carl started to analyse Ghost's face like he's never done before. His forehead, jaw, eyebrows, nose, lips... eyes. Yeah, the eyes. He nodded hastily, being careful to not shake his head too much and then pointed high up at Ghost before following it through by pointing to his own eyes. Ghost understood what he meant. "The same eyes?" Carl nodded in confirmation. "Fuck." He was getting closer, he was getting really close but it seems as if everyone was going to see this woman before he would. "Did you hear her name?"
Carl nodded once again. He carefully lifted his finger and started to draw a shape in the air. "C." Ghost said out loud, figuring out Carl was going to spell out the name. "H. E." Before they could continue, the door swung open.
"I finally found that stupid hat you like so mu-" Mary had a large grin on her face when she looked at her brother but it instantly dropped when she realised there was another figure in the room. "Oh hell nah! Secu-" She was about to run out the room, screaming for help but Ghost was faster than her. He grabbed her by the arm, threw her behind him and shut the door shut. "Don't touch me nigga! I should kill your ass for what you did to my brother." She ignored Carl's silent pleas from the bed, making him mad at himself because he couldn't say anything to calm down his sister.
"I never did that shit that to him so get your facts right." He corrected her, staring her down. Again, he understood her frustration but he was the wrong person to disrespect but out of respect for Carl, he was going to dial himself down. "Why don't you shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down or some shit while I handle some business?" Or at least try to.
"Who the fuck do you think you talking to?! Just because you got a gang and some stupid ass shooters don't mean a bitch is scared of you nigga! You ain't shit and will never be shit! Hiding behind a glock, I bet your ass can't even fight, pussy ass nigga." She threw at him with her arms flying in the air to add to her dramatized anger.
Ghost rubbed his chin with an unamused smirk on his face, stooping down to a level he knew she would understand, one he rarely went to. "All that mouth just for you to be chatting shit. A waste."
"Yeah because you would prefer for it to be wrapped around your dick like the hoes you fuck with." Mary looked him up and down in disgust. Carl did not enjoy this conversation.
"Trust me when I say the loudest girls tend to give the shittest head. You seem like one of them." He crossed his arms over his chest. By this time, Carl had given up trying to stop the twos back and forth and let the moment unfold on its own.
"You wish this pretty mouth was on your dick."
"If you wanna fuck just say that, you seem to love talking about my dick." Ghost shrugged, playing into her frustration. He was obviously lying. He would never let any female touch him besides the one he was with now. Only she could touch him.
Mary laughed. "You act like you so high and mighty but you a piece of shit! Look what you did to my brother! He's motherfucking jaw is wired shut for fuck sake."
"I never did that, I done told you that shit already. Why don't you get the through your thick fucking skull? Gotta be a motherfucking brain up in that bitch somehow." Ghost was tired with going back and forth with the woman in front of him. He got most of what he needed and Mary just ruined the last of the information he needed and she was nowhere near going to let him get the rest. He turned to Carl and stepped up to the bed. Mary tried to step in front of Ghost but he just shoved past her, careful not to send her flying not so accidently. "Look Carl, I appreciate what you told me, I apologies for the shit you went through. If you ever want to come bac-"
"Never!" Mary interrupted for another one of her inputs. She hated Ghost so much for what he does and caused her brother to go through. He didn't deserve to be in this hospital bed bandaged up with missing digits. He was a good man. She told him many times he didn't need the street life, hopefully he would finally listen and ignore useless men like Ghost who ruined society and keep the community back. Ghost should be the one in the bed, not her brother.
Ghost gave Mary a side eye before looking back at him. "As I was saying... there's always a place for you, even if you don't come back, you just call if you need some shit handled." He gave Carl a knowing look who understood along the lines what Ghost was referring to. "And you can hold onto this." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a few stacks and put it onto the table that was hanging over Carl's legs.
The siblings looked at the money in shock.
"Hell nah, we don't want your blood money, take that shit back!" Mary demanded him.
Ghost's eyes screwed together as he looked at the woman getting on his last nerve. "Do you ever shut the fuck up?" He really couldn't help himself at this point. "This shit isn't for you, it's for your brother so I ain't taking shit back just because you raised your voice a couple of octaves." He turned back to Carl. "This is 4K right here. It's yours, you earned some of this while the rest is a parting gift."
"I said we don't need it."
"Your GoFundMe says otherwise." Was all he needed to say to Mary to make her quiet down. Ghost turned and went to walk out the room when Mary stepped in his path. He sighed and pulled out a hundred-dollar bill and stuffed it in her hand. "Last I wanna see you again."
"Trust me. I am happy with that." She told him as she stuffed the note into her bra.
Ghost shook his head and made his way out the room. If only Mary didn't get in the way, he could've found out the name Carmen was going by. All he got was Che, what the hell could he do with three letters? Maybe that was her name but he could see Carl wasn't finished. 'Stupid woman getting in people's business.' Just as he thought his blood pressure was about to drop, he got it back up again. He was so close and she just had to step in and ruin it. Now he was on a guessing game. He just needed to find Carmen and get this over with because his family needed answers and he knew he was the only one that could get it for them. His family deserved to know what happened to Carmen Freeman.
Emerald applied her lip gloss to her lips as she looked at herself in the mirror, checking that everything was ready before she stepped out on stage for another night at the club. Once she was done, she just had to sigh.
"Girl the fuck wrong with you?" Diamond asked as she danced her way over to Emerald after coming from her locker. She had a lot of energy running through her body and her friend wasn't sure as to why.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" She threw back. "Your ass hasn't stopped dancing since you came back into this dressing room."
"Well, I just got word that my costume is ready for carnival next year. I can't way to go! Caesar is even coming with me." She told her. The twos love for their culture meant they both wanted to attended the celebrations happening in the following year so they decided that they might as well go together and meet up with the other people they knew when they got there. It was something they were both excited for. "I wish I could take Riley but he needs to be eased into that shit first but yeah, that's my reason for dancing everywhere. Why do you look all moody when you should be as happy as me since you've been getting dick nearly every day after Huey's big birthday?" Diamond smirked at her blushing friend who was speechless at what she just heard.
It was true. Ever since Huey's birthday, the two could barely keep off of each other. They had hit home run and they were definitely running all the plays in the book. The amount of water breaks they had to take was crazy but adding their stubbornness to the mix meant that they were not going to give up trying to out please the other which meant very long days and nights of just pure bliss and orgasms. It almost became impossible to reach the new couple from how active they were being.
"Dia, if you don't shut up." Emerald whispered as she pulled her down so they could sit closer, not wanting others to hear their conversation. "Just saying all my business in the free air like people need to hear."
"Ain't no shame in getting a good fuck." She smirked. "You not the only one receiving regular dick. Do you not see them Freeman's be making us glow and shit?"
The two turned to the mirror and looked at their reflection. Diamond had certainly took note of her glow but Jazmine only just realised, she really was glowing. She had no idea she could get a glow from sex besides the one girls usually got once they lost their virginity.
Before they could continue to talk about their active sex lives, Raven walked over with a smile on her face. "Hey girls, your turn is coming up now."
Emerald nodded. "Thanks for telling us, is Huey here yet?" She asked.
Raven shook her head. "Nah, he told me he's going to be a little late, got caught up with some shit."
"Oh ok." She said sadly. For some reason, she really enjoyed Huey watching her dance. He saw her as a dancer while other people in the room saw her as a stripper but she wanted to be known for being a dancer and not a stripper. She will be known as the former exotic dancer now turned choreographer, dancer, dance teacher and studio owner. Having Huey watch her perform was comforting that there was at least one person in the crowd supporting the dancer in her. Plus, they were almost attached by the hip since his birthday.
"Don't worry too much, he'll be here soon. Oh did you hear that the club a couple of blocks from here got burned down?" Ravena inquired.
Emerald nodded. "Yeah, I heard they was a shootout and then it all got burned down. That just means more customers here and more money for us."
"Exactly so you guys keep killing it as usual so the money keeps flowing."
"Alright." She took a deep breath. "Let's go get this money."
Diamond rubbed her hands together. "That's what I like to hear! Let's get these stacks bitch!"
"Okay okay, you already know what time it is, the dancers you've all been waiting for. Everyone's favourite duo, the top headlines of The Blue Moon, Emerald and Diamond!" The DJ announced on the microphone before playing the music the girls selected. It was a typical, hype, strip club song so this is was going to be a very high energy performance. They stepped out onto the stage in skin tight underwear that certainly did not cover their whole ass cheeks, making the crowd shift in their seats, ready for the show.
They started off by circling the pole, getting a good look at everyone in the room before jumping up and climbing to the top of the pole, making the crowd cheer, waiting to see what was going to happen next. Diamond went all the way up to the top while Emerald stayed below her. Diamond flipped upside down so that her heels were on the ceiling and began to twerk while Emerald spun around the pole with one leg while also upside down. Emerald then used her upper body strength to do splits in the air while using only her hands to hold onto the pole before swing her legs back around it, doing more tricks. Diamond made her way down the pole so that she switched positions with her partner. She hooked her legs around the pole and laid her body out flat, allowing Emerald the chance to stand on her legs and began to twerk and act crazy, still be cautious to not dig her clear, six-inch, platform heels into her friend's thighs who was hold her up while also hype her up.
They then changed their position so that Diamond was doing the splits on top of Emerald who was also doing the splits which made more money flood the floor. It was something the two had been working on and was glad that it was pay off. They did a few more tricks before they watched each other slide down the slide of the pole and drop straight into the splits, landing hard on the stage but not enough to hurt themselves. They could now feel the notes flying all over them as they twerked in the customers faces. They even picked some of the money up and stuffed it in their underwear while doing so. Emerald grabbed a customer's head and held it close to her ass and continued to twerk. She could see the excitement shining in his eyes as she worked her magic. Diamond did something similar expect she had flipped around so she faced her picked customer and started to grind towards his face, making sure his face didn't touch her private parts but close enough to make him wish he could put his whole face between her legs.
The dancers threw their lucky customers head away from them before crawling towards each other centre stage, keeping a sexy look on their faces as they did. Using their experience in gymnastics, they got up into handstands and did some more splits in the air but this time, opening and closing their legs, making sure the loud clapping sounds of their heels could be heard and twerking at the same time. As the song came to an end, they got back onto their two feet and faced the crowd, watching the last few dollars fall to the stage.
"Well I don't think I have seen so many splits before. These girls be flexible as fuck. Give it up one more time for Emerald and Diamond!" The DJ shouted on the mic, making the club vibrate from the cheering and the applause.
The two strutted off the stage confidently after collecting their money and made their way to the dressing room. They were met with more applause from their fellow dancers as they entered.
"You guys did amazing!" Charm told them.
"Seriously! I am going to miss you when you leave." Cotton pouted.
Emerald pouted back at her. "Aww Cotton it's alright, we'll come and visit and throw some stacks at you of course." She playful stuck out her tongue, making the group that formed around them laugh.
"Ok boss lady, imma hold you to that shit alright."
"Fine by me Cotton Candy."
After that, Emerald and Diamond got changed into a different stripper outfit which was a gold colour making them look expensive because they were.
"I can't believe it's Christmas next month and then new year's. Everything has happened so fast." Emerald told her friend.
"I know." She agreed. "We've been through so much these past few months. Especially with the boys, you would think we've been together for a long time but it's only officially been about a month."
Emerald sighed as applied the clips onto the straight blonde wig she had on. "I feel like it's been longer. Like I've known the guys for so long and been with Huey even longer."
"Well, I guess that's what happens when you're dick whipped." Diamond shrugged. "We still got the big dance number we have to do, you ready to do it?"
Emerald and Diamond have been working on a dance routine that was different from what they have done before. The song was different and the style was different but still them. They wanted to roll in as much customers and money as they could before they left the stage for the last time.
"We could do with a few little tweaks but after that, we'll be good." She took a deep breath as she started thinking about what they had to do. She was a perfectionist when it came to dancing. She created the outline routines her and Diamond would do together or anything the Gems did together while Diamond helped her to get the details down. No dance routine she did was mediocre it had to be up to her expectations.
"Ight bet." Before they could continue their conversation, one of the dancers came over to them.
"You got a request in room 4."
"Thanks girl." Diamond pushed up her breast and checked over her outfit one more time as Jazmine did the same. "You ready?"
"As always. Let's get these stacks."
The two high fived then strutted their way out the changing room. As they walked through the club, they waved and smiled at some of the regular customers who even gave them a couple of notes just by walking past. They also tried to subtly look for their boyfriends as they walked to the private rooms but they were nowhere to be found, they guessed they wasn't coming tonight. They nodded to the security and got to room four. With a deep breath, they plastered a smile on their face and walked into the room.
"Did someone call for the Diamond & Emerald experience?" Diamond spoke softly as she walked in first with Emerald peering out from behind.
Inside was a group of 5 men who all looked as if they had just turned 21. They all seemed in high spirits and were obviously celebrating something from the stacks of cash they had laying around and the bottles of alcohol around them. It made them wonder what these boys did to have that much money around them and to splashing it at the strip club but they didn't care, as long as they saw a good amount of paper by the end of the night.
"Yes we did! We saw y'all pretty asses on stage and wanted to see it up close." The one in the middle answered with a large grin on his face, making his friends laugh and voice their agreements.
His friend picked up his glass and took a sip. "Yeah we're looking for a good time tonight."
"Well, you got the right girls to help you with that." Emerald smirked. The dancers walked over to where the boys were sitting and began to dance and sway their hips to the music that was playing. They used their hands as a guide for them to follow as they touched their necks, breast, stomach and lower.
"That's what I like!"
They continued to dance to the slow and sexy music until the one in the middle got annoyed. "Man cut this slow shit off, I wanna see some ass shake like how you did on the stage."
Diamond sat on the small circle stage that was in front of them with her leg open when he said that. She wanted to roll her eyes badly but decided against it. "Well if you want that then just ask." She walked over to iPad and changed the playlist that was set up in there. The faster tempo of songs meant her and Emerald had to change their approach. They still kept the sexy moves but they just did a lot more ass shaking than hip movements they were doing before.
Emerald felt a hand touch her inner thigh and she quickly swatted it away. "Don't touch unless we let you touch." She reminded the one sitting in the middle.
He held his arm up in defence. "My bad, my bad. It won't happen again."
She kept going with her dancing, picking up the money they were throwing and stuffing it into her clothes. She saw him pull out more rolled up money and raised an eyebrow. "I see you're a money man. What you be doing to have all that money?" She genuinely questioned.
The man laughed, showing off the grillz that rested on his bottom row of teeth. "We in the biggest gang in Chicago baby. You should let a real nigga take you out some time so I can show you a good time." He reached out and grabbed Emerald's arm, yanking her into his lap.
She quickly jumped away from him which caused Diamond to stop dancing and look at her friend with concern. "Don't be touching me like that!"
"I'm sorry I'm sorry! Damn yellowbone can't have a little fun." He commented, making his friends laugh.
"My name is Emerald, not yellowbone." She crossed her arms over her chest with an annoyed expression on her face.
His laughter died down as he looked at her face. "Damn sorry Emerald, my bad. I'll call you by your name."
"Fuck all of that, I ain't getting no action on my sides." One of the friends at the end complained. It was hard for him to get some attention since the ratio to dancers to customers wasn't even.
"Maybe if you paid for more dancers, this wouldn't have been a problem." Diamond told them with her hands on her hips. "Maybe you're not ballers after all."
"What did you say bitch?!" He shot up from his seat and stepped up to Diamond but she didn't back down.
'Ah shit.' Emerald thought as she stepped up the guy after she set the silent alarm off that was installed in all private rooms after they got kidnapped.
"Weh you ago do? You gonna hit me? Lick me down yes!" Diamond couldn't help her natural language from coming through. One thing she hated was when males would act harder than they were because she was sure to kick them down a couple of pegs happily. Sometimes they used their height and statue to try and intimidate women and she hated that, she always stood up for herself and her friends if needs be. As much as she didn't want her friend jumping in, she knew better than to expect to fight on her own.
"Let's just chill out for a second." Emerald stepped between the two but he wasn't having it.
"Nah fuck that. Your friend got a big fucking mouth, no wonder she's so fucking fat."
Diamond smirked, completely unfazed by what he said. "My pum pum fat too, next."
"Yellowbone you better get your fucking friend before some shit happens." The one in the middle warned her.
Emerald looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Is that a threat? Who the fuck you threatening? We all know it ain't me or my sis because you must've lost your fucking mind." She tried to be the calm one but that went straight out the window when she heard his threat.
"Nah I think you lost your fucking mind for talking to us like that." He stood and the rest of his friends followed.
"See this is why I know you some bitch ass niggas because how 5 of you stepping up to 2 females the way you are now. What? You can't do one on one?" Emerald would've laughed if the situation wasn't so serious because of how much Diamond sounded like Riley. Once Diamond started cussing, she couldn't stop. You would have to physically restrain her before she stopped telling someone about themselves and she knew Emerald had press the button so nothing was going to happen to them therefore she let her mouth go on. "I should shove my 6 inch heels so far up your ass it flips and becomes your new dick. It will be longer than what you already have anyway so lemme do it as a favour."
"Oh yeah-" The one she squared up to first lifted his shirt and went to grab his gun until he remembered they came in unarmed since it was the only way they could get inside the club.
"Ohhh scary." Diamond mocked.
"Fuck this." He launched himself at Diamond but ended up with his face planted into the floor and a different 6 inch heel digging into his neck.
"I know you did not just try touch my sis." Emerald applied more pressure to his neck. Before any of his friends could pull her off, the door swung open.
"Now who the fuck needs their ass whooped?!" Raven stormed in as she quickly surveyed the room, wondering why the button was pressed for assistance.
Every single male in the room stood completely frozen when she came in and they had every reason as to why they should.
"Mid- Midnight? We didn't know you were here." The one that called Emerald yellowbone seemed to have changed his whole demur now that she entered.
"You know these niggas?" Diamond pointed over to them who were looking at Raven with fear in their eyes.
It took her a second but she nodded, then her eyes turned to slits. "Yeah, these some new fuckers that just started and looks like they were already fucking shit up."
"Loo- look we didn't know you worked here Midnight."
She raised an eyebrow at them but sighed. "Sit your asses down." She whispered but they were confused. When not one moved, her eyebrow raised higher. "I said, sit your motherfucking asses down!"
With lighting speed, they all sat back down. Emerald looked over at Midnight. "You want him to get up?"
She nodded. "Nice work Emerald." Emerald lifted her foot and the man quickly jumped back into his seat with his hand on his neck looking as if he was in pain.
'Good. Fucker you.' Diamond thought to herself.
"Tell me what they did." Midnight asked the dancers without taking her eyes off the boys who looked ashamed with themselves.
"Well one in the middle got a little handsy." Emerald started off.
"Then nigga with a heel in his neck wanted to get mouthy and try jump at me but my girl had my back and put him back in his place." Diamond finished explaining.
"It was just a little misunderstanding." One of the other friend tried to reason with them.
"Shut the fuck up!" Midnight shouted at him. "I ain't got time to hear none of that shit. I got tapes in this bitch I can just go watch what you did to my girls and if I have to, ain't no one with a dick leaving this room with all their limbs intact." You could see the hard swallows they did from the way their Adams apple jumped in their throat. Emerald and Diamond were even more impressed by Midnight's ability to get any male to listen to what she said and still pose as a treat. As a dancer, they didn't get as much respect as Midnight got in her gang business, it was evident just a few minutes ago. It just made their respect for her to grow even more. She was really a badass in this gangster stuff.
Midnight looked around the room. She saw large amounts of money laying on the floor and champagne bottles open.
The spokesman for the group saw her searched the room with her eyes and panicked. "Midnight, it's not what it looks like. It was only a loan you see. We were going to pay you back."
That's when Emerald and Diamond put two and two together. They said they were in a gang in Chicago but Midnight said they were new. They stole the money from the Panthers. The gang their boyfriends ran.
"Ohh they done fucked up now." Diamond whispered to Emerald who nodded.
"Yeah, good thing Huey isn't here." She whispered back.
Suddenly there was knock at the door.
"Yeah!" Midnight shouted back, taking her glare off the men in front of her for just a second.
In walked an afro and cornrows. An afro and cornrows that belonged to Huey and Riley Freeman, AKA Ghost and Reezy.
Diamond lightly slapped her friend in the thigh. "You jinxed it!" She whispered-yelled.
The look of shock on her face was hilarious to see if the situation wasn't so serious. "I know!" She whispered-yelled back.
"Ghost and Reezy are here?" One mumbled when the two men walked in.
"We arrive and hear that Midnight was called into a room." Ghost started to glare at the group of men, not giving a chance for anyone to say anything to him. "Which just happened to be the same room my girlfriend is in."
The colour started to drain out of all their faces, not expecting to hear that. They all knew they were even more fucked than if it was just Midnight that came into the room.
"The last thing I wanted to do when I come is hear that my girl in here too with some bitch niggas doing some fucked up shit." Reezy crossed his arms as he glared too.
Okay, scratch that. They were super fucked.
"Your little friends here decided it was a good thing to grab your girls, disrespect and try and fight them all while using the gang's money." Midnight filled them in.
Ghost's eyes got darker as he glared into each one of their souls. "Sorry can you repeat that."
"They grabbed, disrespected and tried to fight Emerald and Diamond while using the gang's money to flex and act like they were in luxury when they didn't even work for none of the cash." She repeated with a smirk this time, knowing Ghost and Reezy were getting heated which meant she didn't have to get her hands bloody tonight.
Ghost looked around the floor and the silence were deadly. "How much would you say is on the floor right now?" He asked the room.
Emerald spoke up first, not expecting herself to even say anything from how tense it was. "I say about a 12 hundred, a little more if anything."
He nodded. "So you little niggas disrespect me and my gang by spending my shit as if it was yours?"
"Ghost! We- we were going to put the money back I swear!" One pleaded with him, even though he wasn't touched, yet.
"Nigga stop that stuttering shit and say what you gotta say with chest. You did this because you thought you was a boss man so act like it nigga!" Reezy told him. It sounded more like a demand however.
He took a deep breath. "Alright. We wanted to celebrate being in the best gang in Chicago. We just wanted to show out a lil. We didn't know these were your girl's man. We just got a little heated and outta hand, we didn't mean for this shit to happen. We're sorry!" He turned his eyes to the two dancers but Reezy and Ghost blocked his view.
"Ain't no point in begging and pleading now, you already fucked up now." Midnight shrugged as she took a seat across the room, just chilling now next to Emerald and Diamond who just watched on intensely.
Ghost slightly turned to Emerald. "Midnight said one grabbed you?" She nodded. "Which one?"
"The one in the middle."
He nodded, noting down the information.
"So I'm guessing one tried to fight you." Reezy turned to Diamond. "Point to the nigga." So she did. "Ight, bet."
"You two. Stand up." He told them.
They shared a look but did as they were told slowly. "Come over here." Reezy instructed them. They shared another look but slowly stepped up to them. "I want the rest of you niggas to pick every single note from the floor and put them in neat ass piles. If a note is out of place, I will pistol whip your bitch ass." They nodded and hurried scrambled to the floor to pick up the money that was on the floor.
Diamond and Emerald hated how attractive all this was to them right now. The way their boyfriend took charge of the situation and seemed calm and collective even though they knew a fire was burning inside. They held so much power that they had men on their hands and knees picking up money as if they were just shaking their ass to make some cash.
"Ouu imma bout to buss." Diamond muttered to her friend.
Emerald had to stop the laugh she wanted to let out because of how awkward that would've made the situation. "Girl shhhh." They turned their eyes back to what was happening in front of them as if they were watching a show on Netflix they just had to binge watch the day it dropped.
"Swing at me."
That was not what they expected.
"Girl what is my man doing?" Emerald couldn't help but ask Midnight who had a large smirk on her face.
"Giving them a fighting chance."
The one that grabbed Emerald knew he shouldn't show anymore weakness so took a deep breath and swung. Next thing he knew, he was flat on his back and ringing sound was going through his head. Ghost had punched the man to the ground and started to punch his face repeatedly, Reezy doing the same to the man who stepped up to him only he was putting up more of a fight which just made Reezy more annoyed.
Diamond and Emerald just watched the scene in front of them in shock. Ghost and Reezy was really putting power behind them punches. You could see their heads bouncing against the hard floor as they got punched in the face.
"Are you niggas gonna kill them or not so I know if I should call our guys to collect the bodies?" Midnight asked causally as if they weren't busy caving a man's face into his skull.
After getting in two or three more punches, they stopped and stood, looking down at the bloody faces that were underneath them.
"Nah. Need them alive, how else they gonna pay me back?" Ghost questioned her, making her nod in understanding.
"But all the money is here. Well, besides like 200 but that's easy to get." One of the ones that had to pick up the money told him.
Ghost shook his head. "Nah, this is going to go to the girls for their service."
The dancers were confused as to why they never just accepted the money in front of him. Was he going to make them work for all the money back?
"But you can just tak-"
"Nigga we not taking this shit!" Reezy cut him off. "You took our motherfucking money so you motherfuckers are going to get it back and we don't mean by picking it up from the fucking floor."
"You have one week to get double the amount of money you spent tonight and if I find out you took more money to cover your fake ass lifestyle, there will be worse punishment than what you got tonight."
"Worse than getting your teeth shoved down your throat? Damn, ain't that some shit." Diamond said to Emerald who nodded in agreement.
"Double?!" One of the guys said in disbelief.
"You want me to triple it?!" Ghost shouted at him. The sudden raise in his voice caused the dancers to jump but they had to hold back their laughter at how scared the other got.
"I nearly shat myself." Emerald giggled behind her hands.
"Girl me too." Diamond tried to bite onto her bottom lip to keep herself quiet as best she could.
"No Ghost." They all mumbled.
"One week and double the cash." Ghost reiterated. "Now apologise to the girls and get the fuck out of here."
They all scrambled to their feet and walked over to Emerald and Diamond.
"Sorry."
"We're sorry."
"I apologise."
"Sorry."
"We didn't mean for this shit to happen."
Midnight decided to add her two cents in. "Just in case you didn't figure this out but you banded from this club. I don't want to see you fuckers waiting to get in otherwise I'll tell security to shot on sight. Got it?"
They nodded and made their way out the room, practically tripping over each other trying to get out the room first.
Once the door closed, Diamond and Emerald turned to see Ghost and Reezy were already standing in front of them.
"Well hello to you guys." Emerald started out with a smile.
"Your timing couldn't be more perfect." Diamond laughed.
"Well I am glad because I didn't feel like punching people today." Midnight said dramatically. "I'm going back into my office, deuces." Just like that, she just walked out the room as if nothing happened.
For the first time since they arrived, Riley let a smirk rest on his lips. "Come here girl." He pulled Diamond into his arms and began kissing her neck, making her giggle.
"I want some of that." Emerald pouted, making Huey shake his head but he leaned down and gave her a couple of soft kisses on the lip. "You missed my dancing."
"I know I'm sorry but I will make sure I am here on time for your purple night dance. Which I still don't know why you're doing."
"Because why not." She smiled at him however, it dropped when she felt a stack of paper in her hand. "You seriously not giving this to me are you? I thought you was only saying that to scare them."
"Nah we serious. You earned it so you get it." He pulled her waist band out, put the money inside and let go of it, hearing the sound of the material slap against the money made her laugh. "I'm not taking no for an answer. Them niggas gotta really earn all that money back."
"Ugh fine!" She rolled her eyes before pulling him into a hug. "You taking me to your place today?"
"If that's what you want, I'll be waiting." He pulled her into another kiss before moving back. "Lemme not stop you from making money." He reached down and grabbed a handful of her behind making her shriek and giggle. "I got sum for you later."
"I'll look forward to it." She winked at him before stepping out his arms. "Diamond, let's go." She pulled her friend away from her locking lips with her boyfriend who now looked annoyed.
"Girrlll he was about to-"
"Ion care, let's do it later." Emerald turned and dragged Diamond out the room before she could say anything else. "I wanna get out of here quick because he said he got sum for me later and I know it's some dick and after what just happened, that's exactly the next pole I wanna be doing splits on tonight so let's hurry and make this money so we can get the fuck outta here. I'm sure Riley is going to give you the same treatment so come on!"
Diamond looked at her with wide but amused eyes. "Ok bitch, let's do this!"
They ran off to the main room and quickly found their customers, both completely forgetting what happened in that room and focusing on what was going to happen at their boyfriend's house tonight.
"They took their surprising well." Huey commented as him and his brother left the room together.
"Word, thought they would look more shocked."
They weren't sure how they wanted the girls to react but they seemed entirely fine with what they just witnessed. They weren't sure if it was concern that they had no reaction but they didn't really want to be thinking about that right now. Ghost now had more work to do since he had to make sure the new recruits were in check. They seriously did not want to cross him. Many would think Ghost should kill them but they were young and new, he would give them a chance but if they slipped up again, he wasn't going to be as merciful as he was today, that was for sure. If he found his girl or any of his brother's girls with a bruise or blood, then a murder was going to happen in the club. As for now, the boys will walk, if they screwed up again, there wasn't a future greatened for them.
When the club closed, Jazmine ran out of the dressing room fully clothed to find Huey so they could leave. She didn't even wait for the rest of the girls because they already understood the sense of emergency she was feeling, she just made sure she said goodbye before leaving.
She saw him standing by the entrance on his phone but looked up once he noticed she was next to him.
"You ready to go?" He asked her.
"Yup. Let's go." Jazmine grabbed onto his arm and pulled him out the door as she did to Royalty earlier. She didn't even look back to see the large smirk on his face.
"Someone's excited to come to my place."
She paused and turned to him slowly just outside his car. "Excuse me for wanting some comfort fro-" She was cut off when by his lips crashing against hers and she did not care at all that he stopped her from talking. She dropped her bag on the floor and pulled him in closer. After a few more seconds, she thought of an idea. "Unlock the car."
Huey pulled out his keys and clicked the button unlocking the door. He opened it, sat down in the driver's seat and knew exactly what Jazmine was thinking. He pushed and leaned the chair back and Jazmine jumped right into his lap, straddling him and threw her bag to the passenger's seat. They slammed the door shut and continued to make out in the car. The temperature in the car was already rising. He pushed his hands in the back of her joggers and grabbed a handful of her behind as they grinded against each other. Jazmine could feel Huey pocking against her, making her start to form a puddle in her thong.
She pulled down the zipper to his jumper and pulled it off him, then his top so he decided to pull off her crop top hoodie and threw it where her bag was. They both pulled down their joggers and Huey pulled out a condom.
"Hold up." He told her quickly as he ripped off the wrapper and pulled the condom out and put it on. As soon as he moved his hand, Jazmine replaced his and guided it towards her entrance, lowering herself onto him.
"Hmm." She moaned as she adjusted herself.
"Oh fuck." Huey groaned as he rubbed a hand over his face before placing it back on Jazmine's hip to help guide her movement against his. She leaned forward so she could grip the headrest to dig her nails into something other than his skin. As she did that, he managed to get a face full of breast so he did the first thing that came to his mind- bite them. He bit down on the top of her breast and sucked the spots, leaving red and purple marks as he did so.
The car was hot and the tinted windows were now all fogged up. She sped up her movements as she felt herself reaching the end and by the vein popping out in his neck, she knew he was even closer.
"Just... a-" Jazmine couldn't even say what she wanted to say as she felt the warmth inside her as Huey released into the condom. He tried his best to not stop his own movements but he couldn't grip her hips as he was doing before as he felt himself loosen up. It took less than a minute for Jazmine to finish all onto Huey's lap in satisfaction. She finally allowed her body to relax and rested onto of his body, not bothered to detached herself just yet.
Once they finally caught their breaths, Huey let a lazy smile fall onto his lips. "You just couldn't wait until we got to my place?"
She rolled her eyes despite him not being able to see. "You're the one to talk. You kissed me outside the car. You were just asking for it then."
"Touche."
Jazmine sat up and looked him into his eyes which were returning to their natural colour after their moment of bliss in the driver's seat of his car. He pulled the chair up so that they could now be eye level. "This is the first we've done it in the car."
"Not bad for the first... next time we go to the back." He told her.
"Happy with that, you know I'm flexible anyway." She grinned at him.
He gave her a soft kiss on her lips. "I know. I've managed to put you in 7 different positions since we started fucking." He said nonchalantly.
"And we got more to try out." She flirted back.
"Wanna go for another round on my counter, or shower or the classic bed?" He asked with a smirk on his face, obviously feeling himself after their session.
She giggled and as much as she wanted him to take her in every single place he mentioned, her legs were jello and could not last another round anyway. All the dancing she did tonight did not help her case plus the added feeling of having Huey Freeman inside her. Her legs were done for the night. "I would really love that but I can't feel my limbs no more. You're going to have to carry me to your bed and we can watch a movie or something."
As she said that, you could see that her body and face was starting to show how tired she was so he understood and let her be. "Alright." She gave him a tired smile and Huey knew she was not going to last the first 15 minutes of the movie. She started getting redressed, trying her best not to hit the horn behind her. She managed to climb into the passenger seat and reached into her bag to pull out some tissue for Huey. "Thanks." He used the tissue to wrap up his used condom and placed it in his pocket, reminding himself to throw it out once he saw the appropriate place to do so.
Jazmine pulled the window a little to let out the smell of sex in the car and to bring down the temperature using the natural cool night air. Finally, Huey pulled out of the now empty parking lot of The Blue Moon. He was glad that everyone minded their business and just left rather than knocking on the window and interrupting their session, that was the last thing he wanted when he was with Jazmine. It was actually becoming one of his biggest dislikes, whenever anyone interrupted his time with Jazmine. He had been diving into work and she was working on creating a future for herself so moments like this was cherished but his phone never stopped ringing and everyone need Ghost at any time but Huey needed to spend time with his Jazmine every once and awhile so he made sure she had all of him whenever she could.
The roads and streets were relatively empty and they were about five minutes away from Huey's apartment.
"We should watch the new movie Soul, I heard it's really good and insightful." Jazmine told him as she looked at herself in the small mirror she had pulled down.
Huey rolled his eyes, knowing Jazmine was talking about the children's film his little cousins kept referring to when he last saw them. He knew Jazmine loved watching all the Disney, Pixar and Dreamworks films but he seriously wished he didn't have someone else that forced him to watch those types of films. The fathers of the family last dragged everyone to watch Toy Story 4 to be nostalgic and he wasn't very happy about it. He gave the film a solid 4 out of 10 which definitely caused an argument on their way home. "You know I don't watch them type of movies."
"Well I know you will like it. They have detailed black characters in the film and everything. We should give it a try."
"If you really want to watch it, watch it when you can walk straight because once you hit that pillow, you're going to be knocked out cold, especially after what I put you through." He winked at her.
Jazmine let out a dramatic gasp. "Huey Freeman!" It was almost enough to make Huey laugh the way she said his name but that was cut off by the sudden red and blue lights that had popped up behind them.
The mood in the car shifted instantly and all smiles and smirks were wiped off the couple's face. The two went into fight or flight mode, knowing these situations with people that looked like them, well more Huey, didn't always go well. Jazmine's hands instantly went to the dashboard after pressing record on her phone and that's when she remembered something. She took a quick glance at Huey.
"What the fuck they want now?" Huey mumbled to himself as he looked for somewhere to park up.
"Where's your gun?" Jazmine asked him.
As much as he didn't want to tell her, he knew he had to. "I got one in the glove compartment, one in the arm rest and one under my seat." Huey knew better than to plant one of his guns in the passenger seat, it wasn't far to whoever he was riding with. "There's also a couple of knives in here." He confessed as he stopped the car.
She looked at him with wide eyes, not knowing he carried around so much weapons. "A couple?!"
"I can never be too prepared." He answered as he rested his hands on the steering wheel. He peered in his sideview mirror and saw a small white officer stepping out his car. Huey knew these were the trigger-happy ones and this was the very last thing he needed right now.
Jazmine took a deep breath to try and calm her nerves but her heart was racing. Seeing how calm and collective Huey was made her jealous, she wished she could be as chill as he was being right now.
The officer walked up to the car and tapped the window. Huey winded down the driver's window and took a glance at the man before looking ahead.
"Can I help you officer?"
"Do you know how fast you were going?" He asked.
Huey held himself from rolling his eyes. "The speed limit." He said as a statement, sure the man was pulling him over just because he wanted to.
The officer looked over at Jazmine who made eye contact with him. She noted everything she could see. Brown, short hair, blue eyes, a tattoo of what looked like a flower on his wrist, badge number which was 3847 and his name was Officer M. Cook.
Huey didn't like how long he was staring at Jazmine so moved his head so that he could no longer see her. "Is there something you need?" He couldn't help but say with attitude, clearly annoyed now but he had to relax himself because Jazmine was there.
The officer didn't like that. "Can you step out the car please?"
Jazmine's eyes grew wide and her heart started pounding against her chest. He didn't even ask for licence or registration, just straight telling him to get out the car.
"Hu-" She tried to say his name but her voice broke saying it.
Huey looked over at the watery green eyes he could see looking worriedly at him. He gave her a slight nod. "Imma be good." Was all he said to her before stepping out the car as asked of him.
She felt that her lungs caving into her chest as she heard the door slam shut and Huey standing face to face with the officer. She tried to calm herself down as best she could.
'This is Huey we're talking about. Nothing bad can happen to him, especially at the hands of some basic officer.' She convinced herself
"Turn around and place your hands flat on the vehicle with your legs speared apart." As Huey did what he was told, officer Cook laughed. "Look like you already know the drill." He started to searched Huey from his legs up. He felt something rolled up in his pocket and reached in, feeling as if it was something incriminating. He pulled it out and opened it up but that's when he felt something sticky, then saw something inside. Huey had a large smirk on his face while Jazmine turned red in embarrassed, that was certainly not how they expected to dispose of the rubber. "What the fuck?!" He shouted before throwing the item across the street and into some nearby bushes.
"Littering. Tuh tuh tuh." Huey shook his head mockingly.
"You know what-" Cook went to reach for his lethal weapon when another figure stepped up to the car which none of them seemed to notice approaching.
"Why don't you go back to the car Cook, I can finish here." The man told the officer in uniform.
Jazmine was confused as to who it was and tried to get a better look, as she did, he leaned down to the open window and grinned at her. "I guess we meet again." She remembered him. It was the same police man that took the bags of coke from Huey when they went on a ride along. Why was he pulling them over? Obviously he knew it was them, didn't he? "Sorry about Cook, he just transferred, thought why not a seasoned person like me show him the ropes of Chicago." He grinned at Huey who just glared at him. "Why the long face Ghost?"
"Why-? You pulled me over for no fucking reason just to show some weak ass nigga some ropes! Try that shit with someone else, not me Dre."
Dre put his hands on his hips, pulling back his trench coat and having his badge glisten in the street lights. "Nah, you see, it had to be you because I got a bone to pick with you." He started out. "I need more cash."
"What?" Ghost looked at him with disbelief.
'What?' Jazmine thought. She knew the cop was dirty but she didn't know Huey was actually paying him. She had no idea why it never occurred to her when they first met but it made absolute sense. Ghost kept him quiet and taking his disposals with pay outs. Ghost really was the real thing but now the man was asking for more money, which was never a good thing because if he didn't deliver... that could mean everything was over for him.
"You heard right." Dre grinned. "The streets are burning like a motherfucker right now and bodies are dropping left, right and centre. I gotta clean that shit up and cover your ass. You just dropped three more bodies today nigga."
Ghost shrugged. "Your people should've given me more time to clean it up. It could've been done."
"Well now they just threw it into the large box of gang related deaths."
"Yeah we all know you don't give a fuck about those."
Dre shook his head. "You know, you act so calm and shit but you are one cocky bastard." He laughed. "I honestly have no idea how you got the little fine girl of yours to follow you around like a lost-"
"I dare you to finish that shit and see if your new transfer won't be scrapping you off the ground." Ghost threatened, defending Jazmine.
"Alright, alright. My bad. Guess I know what line to not cross." He threw his hands up in defence. "Back to business I guess... as I was saying. I need a raise, asap at that."
Ghost smirked. Jazmine couldn't see his face but could hear it in his voice. By now she had stopped and deleted the recording she had started when they got pulled over, knowing this was not something that needed to be let out to the world, it made her glad she didn't go on live or that would raise a lot of questions. "You are in no position to ask me that shit."
"I think I am, as I said, I have been covering your ass, especially with all the bodies and drugs that have been dropping in every part of Chicago."
Ghost shrugged at Dre. "I don't know what you're talking about... but I do know, your twin daughters are pretty comfortable in that private elementary school you recently enrolled them in." From Jazmine's view, she saw the cocky grin drop from Dre's smile and felt a shiver run down her spine at the change of the afro's ways. "That school is kinda pricey, heard they got a nice playground though, got a whole pirate ship and everything. I'm sure they love that... just remember, I put them in that school. That was my dirty money that got them there and with your wife carrying your son, I suggest you keep your mouth shut before the payment gets cut, the he won't be able to join your daughters and they will have to go back to public school." He rubbed his chin for a second as Dre tried to hold himself together from Ghost mentioning his family. "You know what, just for being a brave nigga and having the balls to do some shit like this, I'll drop a lil bonus for you in your usual pick-up location." Ghost changed his whole attitude and gave Dre a death glare as he towered over him. "However if you ever try that shit again, especially when I am with my girl, I will make a widow out of your wife and leave your children fatherless. The only thing your son will get of you will be the fucking flag they give your family. Understood?" Ghost never liked getting innocent people involved in his things but sometimes they needed to be brought up to remind people of who he was and who they were and that was exactly what he just did with Dre.
Dre took a deep breath to try and collect himself as best as he could. He honestly hated what he did sometimes because he knew Ghost's threats were promises and the last thing he wanted was one of Ghost's promises over his head. The slight nod he gave was almost invisible but he let a fake smile fall on his face as he bent down to look at Jazmine who just sat there with wide eyes. "Enjoy the rest of your night ma'am." He told her before turning on his heel and making his way back to the car where officer Cook was waiting for him.
Huey got back into the car as the police car sped away into the night away from them. The two finally let out a breath and relaxed a little. He started up the car again and continued driving the short distance to his place.
"I- do I want to know what that was about?" Jazmine was the first to say something since they started driving again.
Huey rubbed his arm as he pulled into the parking garage. "Just some business getting out of hand." He said it as if it was no big deal.
"You threated a fed." She gave him a look that showed it was more than a big deal. "People don't do that."
"Fortunately, I am not people." He pulled the keys out and looked over to Jazmine and locked eyes with her. He could see the slightly different look on her face and knew that she wanted him to expand but also didn't. "Look, when I am with you, I am Huey Freeman, your boyfriend. When I am around people like Dre, I am Ghost, a gang leader."
"You mentioned his family Huey."
"That was Ghost, not Huey." He reminded her. "I show you Huey and try and limit your exposure to Ghost. I don't need you to experience that side of me all the time, it's not something I want you to see. Plus, as much as people try and say family is off limit in this business, they never really are. I only mentioned them to get his mind straight, I would never do anything to them, I'm not that evil." He explained.
She slightly nodded as she took in everything he told her and everything she just saw. In the parking lot of the club, she had Huey but going down the street, she got Ghost. The two were similar but very different. Huey was the intelligent, quiet, observant and a family man at heart. Ghost was cold, malice, powerful and deadly. She just had to remind herself that she was dating Huey, not Ghost. Ghost was just the background character that would pop up every now and then in front of her. It was almost like, but not identical to, Jazmine and Emerald. Jazmine was a sweet, innocent, friendly woman while Emerald was a feisty, explosive, crazy dancer. There were two sides of her that Huey knew to separate and she was appreciative to that. She understood what he meant now and she had to remind herself to do the same.
"Well I am glad I get Huey." She told him truthfully as they stepped out the car.
He wrapped his arms around her shoulder and kissed her forehead. "I'm glad I get Jazmine."
Jazmine sighed and leaned onto Huey for support, her mind floating far from what just happened. "Can we just smoke a blunt and fall into a dreamless sleep?" She requested.
Huey smirked as he looked down a Jazmine. "Good moment to try Caesar's new strain for that exact reason."
"What's it called?"
"Night night nigga. Well, night night, we don't need the white people requesting that shit and saying nigga because then we will have a problem." He answered her. She couldn't help but burst out laughing at the thought of a middle-aged white man requesting for that specific strain from Riley. That sure would end up with a bloody nose and missing teeth.
"You guys need to come up better names for everyone to say." Her laughter died down once they stepped into his apartment she immediately took off her shoes and threw down her bag as if it was her own place. She was so happy to feel her feet flat on the cold floor.
"I don't make the names." He shrugged. "Go get ready for bed, I'll bring the blunt."
She nodded and did just that. Jazmine walked into Huey's bedroom and started to strip until she was only left with her thong on. She walked over to his draw and pulled out one of his old t-shirts that he said she could use as nightwear whenever she stayed over but she knew soon she was about to start leaving her own clothes there. Just as she threw on the t-shirt and about to jump in the bed, Huey walked in with the already lit blunt and smoke coming out his nostrils.
"That was quick." She told him as he passed the blunt to her to take a pull of her own.
"I got years of practice baby."
She giggled and gave him a kiss on the lips before taking a pull from the blunt. She climbed into his bed, being careful to not drop the blunt on the sheets as Huey got ready for bed too. She took another pull before holding it out to Huey. He took it and had his turn before giving it back to Jazmine and they didn't stop doing so.
"Damn." She coughed. "I can feel it already." She yawned. "This some good shit."
Huey smirked as he took the now roach from her and placed it in the ash tray next to his bed. By the time he turned to look at Jazmine, she was already knocked out cold, snoring lightly as the tiredness finally caught up to her. Huey knew the weed was working because he couldn't even hold open his eyes anymore so he pulled Jazmine into his arms and allowed himself to go into a comfortable sleep despite how annoyed he was not long ago. All he knew was, Dre better be thanking whoever he believed in because he got to leave breathing. He better not try something like that again otherwise it was not going to end as well as it did this time.
A group of men sat around on a bench in the dead of the night. There were only a few cars passing by but not a lot. The streets were practically empty so they looked threatening to anyone walking past. Despite the cold weather, the cocaine that was running through their veins kept their blood warm and pumping vigorously through their veins. They were so high and contempt with life right now with not a care in the world.
"Damn... I always act surprise when I snort this shit like it's my very first time." The blonde giggled and he took another sniff of the powder.
"This is why I loooveeeee Vladimir man. He got the good shit. The high class shit." His fellow blonde friend boasted.
The eldest of the group stood in front of them with his arms open in exaggeration. Making his friends giggle at the action. "My friends. This is why I be telling you! Wait until this shit gets to the high class people because these low life people are hooked on this shit and dying out. The rich ones? They know how to take these shits. Regular and rarely die even when they do it's not until many years later. Best business you can ask for."
They all began to laugh and cheer at the idea, getting excited at the thought of more money in their pocket.
"Damn I better not have left my keys in my locker." A woman muttered to herself as she shuffled through her bag at night. She knew she shouldn't be distracted when walking alone at night but she stayed prepared and knew how to defend herself. Well, the training she got was more than defending, it was more of 'the best way to harm the person that had the nerve to try and attack you and let them know to never try some shit like that again' otherwise known as the usual family way.
She noticed the group in front of her and rolled her eyes , knowing it was not going to be easy to pass them but just as she approached them, a few things dropped out of her bag.
"Woah lady!"
"Well ain't that some shit." She cursed herself for making the stupid mistake. She was too tired to be embarrassed at herself as she shoved the stuff back in her bag, ignore the men's giggles.
'They have lost their damn minds.' She thought to herself.
The one that was standing saw her look up at him. "Cheetah what you doing-" He stopped when he read the name badge. Seeing it showed she was a doctor. "Shit, my bad Jaliya-"
"Nosy bastard." She snatched her name badge before stomping away, ignoring the eyes burning on the back of her body.
"She a feisty one. I like them feisty." The blonde joked, licking his lips as he did so.
The one that helped the woman pick up her things felt stuck. She really looked just like Cheetah. It was weird how much they looked alike but then he felt a little racist for thinking all black people look alike. Maybe he should keep his mouth shut but he felt like he shouldn't.
Just then, a slick, black car pulled up next to them and a slim figure stepped out.
"Boys. I hope you're not getting high on our shit now when you're supposed to be working." She said as she walked around the car and stood in front of them. She may have been smaller than them but her presence was threatening. Her dark red eyes were peering into each one of their souls at a time. They didn't know how it was possible but before they didn't feel no type of cold, now, they were freezing.
"Nah nah, of course not Cheetah." The first blonde lied.
Cheetah didn't like lying.
She pulled out her gun with lightning speed and pulled the trigger 3 times, every single one landing in different places on his skull.
"Why lie? I can see you fuckers are high." She casually told them as she shoved her gun back into her waistband.
The group of men could feel themselves sobering up from the look of their friend's blood leaking onto the concrete in front of them. The only one that was standing even had to move to the side so the blood didn't touch his feet. The dark night made the blood look black which almost made him throw up but he didn't want to look weak in front of Cheetah. She was Vladimir's right hand so whatever they did wrong, there was 96% chance of him finding out about it and who knows what would happen then.
"So have you just been snorting the coke or have you been doing anything useful?" She asked with her arms crossed of her chest, waiting for an answer.
"I- we- we are not working today." The only surviving blonde told her.
Cheetah smiled which caused all the men's eyebrows to rise. "Oh, why didn't you say so? I would've let you guys be."
They were not expecting to hear that.
"Wait what?"
She said it slowly so they could understand. "You guys were out here like you was working, if I knew you wasn't, I would've left."
"But- but you killed our friend!"
"He lied. Don't lie to me." She shrugged casually. "You just might end up with a bullet or three in your head."
The only one standing looking at Cheetah confused but that emotion changed once he looked deep into her eyes and remembered something that happened a few minutes ago. "Hey you know what's strange, I thought you was some other woman that walked past here."
Cheetah looked at him confused. "What?"
"Yeah. She was walking by and dropped some things on the floor and when I helped her, I looked in her face and thought it was you. Then I saw her name badge and she was a doctor. Her name was um, Jaliyah."
This caused Cheetah ears to perk up. The way this man sounded, it was as if he was sure and for some reason, she believed him. "You sure?"
He nodded. "Yeah, it was scary as fuck how much you look alike. Same eyes and you never catch anyone else with the same eyes. She looked like a younger version of you." He said casually, not realising what he just said.
Her mind started to race. Did she find her family? It couldn't be. It couldn't be that easy. There was no way she had family in Chicago. A place she's only been to the same year but for some reason, she felt connected to the city like nowhere she has lived before. 'Is there more of you? Is this where I'm from?' She asked herself.
"What hospital?"
He pointed to the building in the distance. "Then she went that way." He pointed behind him.
She turned and stared at the hospital in thought when an idea popped into her head. She knew where she was going to spend most of her time for the next week. She would've brushed this ridiculous idea away but for some reason, her gut was telling her not to back away so she didn't.
"Hm, it probably nothing. Thanks though." She brushed off. "Clean up your friend, feds should be here soon so make yourself disappear." Cheetah told them before hopping back into her car, leaving the men to clean up the mess she made.
'Jaliyah... Jaliyah... Hm, nice name.' She thought to herself. As she drove off, she started to think of plans to get closer to this Jaliyah woman who happened to share the same rare eye colour as her. Something was telling her that Vladimir knew something or everything about her but she knew better than to ask. He would just dismiss her and refuse to let anyone work with her in investigating her superstition. Cheetah hated how controlling he was, especially over her. It wasn't fair. They dated when she was young and immature and it was as if he still thought that he was her boyfriend. She is so glad she had no children with that man, he would've tried to turn her into a house wife and everyone knew she was not going to let that happen. She would fight for what she wanted to do and right now, what she wanted to do was find out more about this Jaliyah woman. She needed to know more about her.
The last chapter of this story in 2020 because I know the next one will not be done so quick! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and a happy new year as we go into 2021, even though a lot of us is scared of what is coming next but hopefully we are given a breather because I just want to live my best life you feel me. My bad for leaving you guys hanging for so long, I feel so hypocritically when I want my fav stories to hurry and update when I haven't even uploaded mine.
I can't believe I am 40 chapters in and still the story has only reached November after going through like 6 months I think (I don't do years in my story because then that requires more accuracy and it won't allow the story to flow as nicely) and we're reaching the end of December in real life.
BoondocksFever234: Hey girl! You already know the Gems know a thing or two about money, I couldn't let them be hustled now. I can't believe the girls bday party scene turned into a little tribute to Chadwick, made me so sad reading over it. Girl as you said you can't wait for Jazmine to be apart of the family I be trying not to just have Huey get her pregnant so soon! I want them to grow but I want to make them have a baby like now. Smh. That quote is very Huey so of course I had to add it. I will be giving Mackenzie more teaching moments to the girls because you know they're going to need some guidance from the og Wifey's. Plus as you said about Tom and Sarah's job, I didn't want to speed past it like it never existed, I at least wanted it to be addressed. And I added another lil smut in so I hope you enjoy that too lool.
GREENPEACE1990: Always lovely to see your reviews on my stories on basically every chapter. Yes, yes and yes I had to get those moments in and the timing was perfect.
RabbitMelody: Girl, you and I both know that phone call was far from important, she was just trying too hard.
Chel29: Mackenzie is just a lil protective over her boys that's all. And no one can leave them alone because I guess that's pretty people problems lmao. As for the building name, don't worry we'll get there soon!
RuffinNoRelation: Someone is always plot against them...
Mauriah Milton: Yes I am always updating! As much as I can at least. I am so glad you enjoy the story and the characters too especially going one by one and as we talked about on Wattpad (which I need to work on again) Ed and Rummy will be making another appearance soon, just stay tuned for that.
Well, it's been a stressful year. Cheers to a better 2021 for all.
Until next time
