Chapter 19: Nevermore

Sex before marriage; it was what it said on the tin. Kate considered it trivial in the grand scheme of things. She mainly followed the rules of her faith out of fear on how her parents would react but in this instance, her parents weren't here. She had these feelings for Aaron a few times and now was the time she was going to go through with it. She was ready, she had made up the decision and was prepared to live with the consequences, whatever they may be.

Aaron on the other hand was still processing the request, even as Kate kissed him yet again. He tried his best to think straight but kept getting lost in the smooth silky skin of her back. He would never want to make Kate chose between him and his faith, hell he'd rather her chose that, it had certainly been in her life a lot longer. Then again, he was the one who saved her life, not her faith.

In one swift motion, Kate had pushed Aaron down on his bed before composing herself.

"I want you to see me, all of me" She said as she slowly pulled the baggy hoodie over her ever present bun of hair. Aaron just took it all in, she was taking a big step and he would not make her do anything she wasn't comfortable with.

Aaron stood up and placed his hands on her shoulders before kissing her on the head. "Say the word, and I'll stop" his tone was soft yet deep, he was always ever so caring.

"Shut up" Kate smirked as she pushed him back on the bed before removing her underwear.

She was faking confidence as she had no idea what to do, this was all new to her. She lied next to Aaron on his bed and stared into his eyes he could see she was nervous and was going to take it as slow as he could, let her acclimatise.

"OK, just look at me" Aaron whispered as he slid a finger into her ever so slowly.

Kate moaned softly, she had shamefully done this before so she was familiar as to how it felt. She had no idea why but when Aaron did it, it felt better. The fact it was coming from him, someone she loved, had a connection with, this little act carried weight.

Picking up the pace, Aaron now had two fingers in her and turned Kate so she was lying on her back. He slowly kissed along her neck, making small nibbles here and there but not enough to confuse her. She enjoyed the tickling feeling off his lips against her skin, it was a place she'd never really been kissed before and so far, it was very good.

Aaron trailed the kisses down her collarbone and to her right breast before slowly licking her nipple. This was also a new feeling for Kate and it too felt really nice. Her breathing was harsh as she enjoyed this feeling, she just tried to ease her mind into what she was doing. Aaron was doing a good job of distracting her by keeping his fingers moving inside her and his tongue circling her nipple.

Aaron's mouth moved again, leaving a trail of kisses along her stomach as he came to the area between her legs. His head dipped between them and Kate's shot back in pure ecstasy as he put his mouth to work. Kate's fingers dug deep into the bed sheets as she grasped them with an iron grip. Her left hand came up to her mouth in an attempt to stop her moans from getting too loud, it wasn't working.

All she could feel was pure pleasure as Aarons fingers went inside her again and worked in unison with his mouth. Kate was writhing beneath Aaron as she tried desperately to hold in the little squeaks she was letting out. Of course Aaron found them cute, if anything it encouraged him to make her squeak more. As she reached climax, Aaron leant his head back, staring at her with his captivating eyes. It was a look that said 'this is for you'

As she released herself all over Aaron's face, Kate shivered pleasantly, smiling as she jittered her legs. The thought about the serious ramifications this would have if anyone found out were not in her mind at all! Instead it was how this literal angel had entered her life and taken her on a rollercoaster of how life should be lived. He made no malicious intent to use her, everything she'd ever seen him do was selfless. They say there's someone out there for everyone and Kate was damn sure this was who was waiting for her.

Aaron lifted himself up so he was leaning over his precious girlfriend. She offered a small smile as conformation that she enjoyed what he had just done to her. Smiling back, he said "Are you absolutely sure, now, Kate?" she loved how even now he was still insisting on her consent.

"Yes, I am" Kate replied as she leant up and kissed him. She'd never been more sure of anything in her life.

Aaron shifted his kisses to her neck and slowly nibbled away at the small area under her right ear. This was still fairly new to Kate but she still found herself enjoying it. As Aaron kissed her neck, his right hand stroked all along her side, sending an amazing sensation shooting through her body. He then moved his hand to between his legs and slowly inserted himself inside her.

There was no need for Kate to return the favour of foreplay. This was her first time and Aaron was going to ensure it was all about her. Despite his own sexual preferences on what to do in the bedroom, he would take it slow and do nothing that would scare the poor girl. There would be a time and a place for the two of them to experiment what they would be comfortable doing in the future.

Kate's eyes rolled back in her head as she felt the large thing penetrate her. She knew there was no going back from this but she didn't care. She was tired of living in fear and she knew that no matter what came her way, Aaron would be right beside her as they faced it together. She arched her back as the two of them became one in a moment of pure euphoria. Aaron was nice and slow, moving at a steady pace and making sure to be very gentle with her.

He continued to kiss her neck, breathing heavily into her ear as she panted in extreme pleasure. Aaron wanted nothing more than to throw her face down on the side of the bed, pull her hair and bind her arms but knew that it wasn't the time. Instead he slid to the right of her, placing his left arm under her head and continued thrusting from the side.

"Everything ok?" he asked in between thrusts.

"Uh huh" was all Kate could manage to reply with as she bounced back and forth, biting her tongue in an effort to contain her moans.

Aaron lifted her right leg with his arm as he reached over to play with a very specific spot. Kate tensed up under his touch as she convulsed in sheer pleasure. Aaron's left hand had found its way to her cute nipple and began to pinch at it ever so slightly. The three points of pleasure were giving Kate a sensory overload. She couldn't hold her moans in as Aaron nibbled at the base of her ear lobe, his hot breath crashing into her skin.

Kate had that feeling again for the second time. Her body couldn't contain its fluids as she released them all over Aaron's throbbing member. He gave her a few seconds to catch her breath before carrying on. Kate's eyes were rolling around her skull as the gentle yet solid movements made her reach nirvana. She had never felt this feeling before but longed to feel it again.

Minutes later, Aaron stopped and climbed on top if her again. Instead of entering her, he just moaned as he relieved himself of what had been building up inside him. Kate found the feeling of the warm substance that landed on her stomach to feel irreverent. It added to the act of lust they had just engaged in.

Aaron just panted as he looked at her; smiling that cheeky smile as his black hair clung to his face, courtesy of all the sweat he was producing. Although, Kate wasn't sure how much of it was hers. Aaron crashed to the right of her, closing his eyes as he landed.

"Don't move, I'll clean all that up just…give me a minute" He said with an exhale as he tried to catch his breath.

Kate just giggled as she looked over at him. Even as a sweaty mess, he was still adorable.

After his small recovery, Aaron slid off the bottom of the bed, making sure he didn't disturb Kate who was still lying perfectly still. He quickly found a pair of black shorts in his wardrobe and threw them on. Then it was a matter of finding the tissue roll he kept somewhere. Luckily, it was within eyesight, allowing Aaron to get back to Kate and wipe up the mess he made with relative ease. He wasn't the best at cleaning his discharge off other people but Kate found his effort to be cute. The fact he made an effort was enough for her. After the cleaning up was done, Aaron passed his hoodie back to Kate so she could cover up. He wouldn't have minded if she stayed naked but figured she would like a bit of privacy.

"Thank you for trusting me, I know this was a serious thing for you" Aaron said as he crawled back into bed, making sure the only source of light was the TV's idle screen. He could turn it off remotely.

"We're not gonna talk about that now" Kate replied as she placed her finger on his mouth.

"OK, shutting up" Aaron murmured through her finger as he pulled her in close, causing her to giggle back at him. "We can talk about all that stuff when you're ready" He was so understanding and Kate couldn't stop smiling as she cuddled into his chest. "I love you so much, goodnight angel" Aaron whispered as he turned off the TV

"Good night" was the faintest, softest whisper he had ever heard call back to him. This was a moment of pure bliss.

The brick wall of the pool hall was cold to the touch. Add in the fact you're in between two dumpsters behind the building, in the dark. It wasn't about to get warmer…at least, that's what you'd think?! It wasn't the most romantic location but for Brooke Scott and Nathan Prescott, it was perfect.

Brooke's hands rested on Nathan's shoulders as he pushed her against the wall with force. He kissed her aggressively, almost animalistic and Brooke couldn't help but love it. She would never in a million years have expected to hook up with Nathan Prescott of all people but here she was, her tongue locked with his.

They had found themselves in this predicament after their dancing had…heated up. They found themselves kissing on the 'dancefloor' and decided that is was more fun than actually dancing, this prompted them to run to find a more secluded spot that was offered to them generously. Nathan had used this spot to smoke weed with other Vortex Club members and figured it would be their best option.

He was usually wasted at these parties, especially after hooking everyone up with drugs. This time was different, he found himself stuck in the perpetual loop of thinking about the one person who spoke to him like an actual human. Not someone who wanted something, not someone who was scared of him but just someone. When he saw her that night, behind the curtain of the VIP section, he realised what he was thinking about: infatuation.

Brooke was perplexed more than she'd ever been and that was saying something. She had no idea where this was going and found herself not caring. She spent too much time worrying about what every little thing meant so now she was just going to enjoy the moment she found herself in.

Nathan eventually pulled away from their kiss and looked at Brooke with heavy eyes. "Are you sure this is ok, like you want this?" The fact that he had asked shocked Brooke. Not that she pegged him for anything but the fact she was obviously enjoying herself didn't think it would warrant asking. Especially not from Nathan Prescott of all people.

"Uh huh, now shut up and kiss me" Brooke replied as she pulled him back in. to her surprise, Nathan resisted.

"No, I uh…look I don't want this to be anything meaningless" the young Prescott stated as he looked at the floor.

"Well what do you want this to be?" Brooke asked as she pushed her glasses up.

"I don't know, I haven't thought about it that much" Nathan replied as he crossed his arms in an effort to conserve heat.

Brooke could see that he wasn't looking to use her to get his end away and honestly she would have preferred that. There would be no feelings, no bullshit, just the two of them getting what they wanted. The fact Nathan had commented on what it could be made Brooke put everything into perspective.

She had never really considered this line of thought about many people, especially Nathan Prescott. It was true, she had enjoyed his company over the last few weeks and he had definitely shown an aptitude for listening to her, being willing to learn. But they were from two totally different worlds and, by all rights of social etiquette, should hate each other! She found herself in a predicament and figured if she put the ball in Nathan's court, it would give her time to decide what she wanted.

"Well come find me when you do know" She whispered into his ear before kissing him on the cheek. As fun as it had been, Brooke's night was coming to an end.

Marcus found himself back at The Den, the warm sanctuary that he called home. It was time for his debrief with Alpha and he was pleased with his progress. He just hoped she would see that he had performed his task, like he always did.

He stood outside the old, wooden doors to her office and couldn't contain his thoughts as they wandered. All he could think about was bringing this kid in and he just hoped he'd get the order. He'd never admit it but he really agreed with Jake on the fact it was taking too long. They had spent too long on observation and risked getting made several times.

But as the Beta, he could not be seen to question the orders of Alpha. He had to carry them out with utmost dedication, save someone question his capability. He knew his role in this organisation and didn't get to where he was by sheer accident. He was a determined individual who believed in the cause he was brought up on.

Now it was time to face the music; as the double doors in front of him opened, he swallowed hard and entered. He had been here many times before and was used to everything he saw. The old chair, the worn desk, the grand fireplace-it was all the same. The vast number of books that adorned the shelves were there, the paintings from hundreds of years ago still remained in place and Alpha was still in her chair, face masked in shadow.

"I've read the report, he truly is extraordinary" the woman called from across her desk. The only thing brighter than the fire that was blazing behind here were the piercing yellow eyes that broke through the veil of shadow that shrouded her face.

"I've considered all the variables, I feel like we know enough about the boy that we can move to secure him within the next few days"

Alpha stopped scratching the table as she pondered Marcus' statement. Her freakishly long, sharp nails had been the reason for all the chips in the wood of her grand desk. Marcus hated how she didn't say anything, he felt as if he had done something wrong. For a man who wasn't afraid of anything, the woman across from him made his black hair stick up on edge.

"No, it's too soon" was her reply. The one thing Marcus didn't want to hear. "Pull back observation, if you feel we know everything we need to know, then there is no reason to risk getting compromised"

At least something good came out of it; there was no way he could fail if he wasn't on the operation.

"Understood, what should we do in the meantime?" He asked, crossing his arms behind his back as he stood firm.

"See to it that our little Omega knows everything she needs, continue her training as a field agent. I'll have Jake keep tabs on him over the coming weeks. You're dismissed" the older woman said with an usher of her hand. Her yellow eyes fixated on Marcus as he left.

"Of course"

While not the result he wanted, it was one he would be happy with. Alpha seemed pleased and he got to train their newest recruit. It would be nice to have someone else that could run operations. As Marcus left the room, Alpha pondered over the files in front of her.

She looked at the black and white candid's of Aaron with Kate, with Max and Chloe and even one with his dad.

"You are lucky to be a student here at Blackwell" She said out loud, to no one in particular. "The true motto of this school is 'valde individuorum singulorum per mandatum'-Command through individualism. And you, Mr Heartfield are a very strong individual"

Saturday morning was one of hangovers and regret for some while being cheerful and contemptful for others. Waking up with Kate in his arms was one of the many things that saw him belong to the latter group of Blackwell residents. The previous day had been truly amazing and it was one they would both find themselves thinking about in the future.

Aaron's movements as he woke caused Kate to stir, he quietly shushed her in an effort to try not to wake her. Kate was normally an early riser but the previous night had both literally and figuratively rocked her. She needed the extra sleep but she was never one to climb back under the covers. She just did her best to allow herself to wake naturally, not realising it took her close to half hour.

By the time she was able to open her eyes fully and sit up, Aaron had already showered and was brewing her a cup of tea. He didn't own any such things but made the journey to Evan's dorm and borrowed two mugs and a kettle off of him. He knew how much Kate liked tea and figured it would be a great thing for her to wake up to.

She rubbed her eyes and sat up straight, swinging her bare bottom half over the bed and onto the floor. She looked up at Aaron who turned from his desk to face her with two cups in his hands. Smiling as he passed her a white cup, he said:

"Well now this is a shock, I'm up and ready to go and you, little missy, have only now woken up" his voice oozed with sarcasm, causing Kate to scrunch her face up in dismissal.

"I think I'm entitled to a lie in, thank you very much" she snarked back as she took a sip of her tea. It was sweet, yet not too sugary and had enough milk to give it that creamy texture. It was a very good cup of tea.

Aaron was already dressed, he was sporting a pair of ripped black skinny jeans-which seemed dumb considering how the weather was getting colder, his usual converse and a white baggy band shirt with traditional roses on the back and arrows in black print over the pocket. His messy, long, black hair was still in the process of air drying, there was no way he'd have turned the hair dryer on while Kate was sleeping.

"What happened last night-don't worry, I'm not gonna make a big deal-I just, thank you, it meant a lot" Aaron said as he sat right of Kate, at the foot off the bed. "It shows how much you trust me and I was thinking…I trust you too so I figured I'm ready to tell you what happened to my eye"

Kate's eyes widened as she swallowed another sip of her tea. This was the question that was on her mind a few times of the week. She really wanted to know the story behind how it happened buy would never ask Aaron to tell her directly. She didn't want to open the old wound and cause him any undue pain. She placed her right hand on his, holding her tea in her left hand as she leaned in closer.

"Are you sure, I mean, you don't have to if you're not ready!" Kate realised the rolls from last night were reversed in a funny sense of irony.

"I'm sure, I trust you as much as you trust me" Aaron stated as he turned to face Kate. He'd wanted to tell her since he met here, now was the time.

Portland, Oregon

April 2010 8:46pm

14 year old Aaron just relaxed on his living room couch, playing his Nintendo DS. He had nothing to do this evening, he never really did. A 14 year old was very limited as to what he could do, especially when his parents are always working. He didn't mind, he just took each day as they came and made the most of them. He had always been optimistic about everything in life.

His dress sense was that of every young child back in 2010, not the best. He was sporting a baggy pair of blue jeans that you could buy from any retail outlet, a strange amalgamation of a hoodie and a long sleeve shirt that had grey sleeves and hood and was broken up by red and grey horizontal stripes going along the torso. It was comfy and that was all that mattered.

His parents never used to argue, they were the perfect family to anyone on the outside. Eric, the model father who loved his wife and son, constantly providing for them. Amanda, the ever working mother, a shining example of a strong woman. Aaron, the young boy who would never have to want for anything but so utterly selfless that there was nothing he wanted.

This night however was the rare occasion that Amanda and Eric were in the middle of a heated discussion. Amanda was stressed that her current projects had not borne any fruit and was mad at herself for having nothing to show for her research. With the deadline approaching fast, she had resorted to berating herself for not being able to do anything.

She had started research into optical apparatus': things to assist with eyesight, improve vision, basic optometry. The idea had come from the family cat, cyclops who was a very white and very fluffy cat that happened to be blind.

Eric, of course was trying to reassure his wife, telling her how brilliant she was and that there was no need for her to stress. He believed she'd figure something out and was trying to convince her to realise how great of a scientist she was.

They both worked for Pharmax, a leading pharmaceutical company that was a leader in the private sector. Eric was a pharmacist in one of their stores in downtown Portland and Amanda was a junior project manager in Research and Development that worked out of their Oregon Headquarters in Portland. It was the ideal working arrangement, allowing them both to raise their son and be a family.

Amanda had hear enough of the pleasantries, she was trying to make the point that she shouldn't be in this situation and no matter how optimistic Eric was trying to be, it wasn't the answer to her problem.

"Eric, you don't get it!" Amanda shouted as she poured her second glass of red wine. "You have a very comfy nine to five, Monday to Friday. No two days are the same for me and you'll never understand that" she moved back to the arch that lead from the living room into their kitchen and took a swig from her wine glass.

"I know, I know the job you do is out of this world but you've been doing it for twenty years" Eric said as he leant into the island counter he was resting on. "I met you through this job and you're still the most driven woman I know, just take your time"

"That's what I've been trying to say, I don't have time!" Amanda yelled back as she brushed her hair out of her face. "The director is coming at the end of the month and I need something tangible to show him. So far we have mock-ups and models, that's it" she was clearly stressed out, her posture showed it. Amanda had leaned on her left arm as it rested on their black marble counter as she used her free hand to support her wine glass.

"Then take the next step. If you have models and concepts, go about putting them into practice" Eric called back as he leaned up off the island and turned to wash the dishes in the sink.

Amanda hated to admit it but he was right, that's all she could do. Even now as Eric was cleaning up after their evening meal, she couldn't take her mind off her work. She stood in the archway as the faucet turned on, hitting plates and other items. All Amanda could see in her mind was the road map of what steps she would have to take to get this project working.

She was so distracted, she didn't realise how close her son was. He wanted ice cream after food, like any child and he wouldn't wait for it to be offered. A confident kid like Aaron would go and ask directly. Amanda loved that about her son, he was growing into a confident young man who would be a please for anyone to meet.

"Mom" He called out from behind her as Amanda finished off the last of her wine. He only wanted to get past her and into the kitchen.

She turned, startled at what she heard. She turned to her right so fast and without thinking, it was a reflex. Before she could answer there was a smashing sound followed by the screams of her little boy. The wine glass had crashed into the side of Aaron's head, causing it to shatter.

All he could remember was lying on the floor, his parents either side of him, doing their utmost to calm him down, keep him comfortable. Aaron's eye was on fire as he screamed out, holding onto his parents arms as he continued to wail. It felt like an eternity until the ambulance arrived. He just saw blurs, bits of conversation between his parents and the doctors and then nothing.

From what he could gather, most of the glass shattered on impact, leaving nothing more than surface cuts that would heal overtime. The main issue was the small speck of glass that imbedded itself in Aaron's eye, it was no bigger than a grain of rice but it had managed to cut right through his eye, rendering him blind. They had to remove the eye, it was too dangerous to leave in there.

A few days went by before he was allowed home. It made no difference, the atmosphere of his once cheerful house was sombre and bleak. Aaron was happy enough to move on with his life, adapt to life being blind in one eye. Amanda didn't talk much, it was evident she blamed herself, she just allowed her work to swallow her, devoting all her time to it.

Eric, while not able to blame anyone for what happened, he did blame Amanda for effectively running away. Aaron needed a mother now and she was too busy hiding from the responsibility. There was nothing Eric didn't see that couldn't fix the family. So when Amanda offered to take Aaron for ice cream, Eric thought nothing off it. A simple way for them to connect again. It was the last time he'd ever trust his wife to be alone with their son.

Aaron just sat in the car as he let his mother drive, he had no interest of paying attention to anything as of late. He did find it odd however when the pulled into the parking lot of the Pharmax building but just followed his mother when she said that she needed to grab something from work. He was fine with a small detour, he knew how important her work had been to her and figured a small tour wouldn't hurt.

What Aaron didn't expect was for his own mother to order two lab assistants to drag him to the chair that sat in the middle of her laboratory, under a bright light. He didn't expect he would be strapped down to a chair and have his head placed in between a vice to stop it from moving. He was scared but shocked more than anything. The way his mother treated him, it was like she'd never seen him before. He was like some poor test subject that she had to work with.

She forced open the hole in his head, making Aaron feel as if he was living through the scarring ordeal for a second time. He couldn't contain his voice, screaming as fresh blood ran down his right cheek. The cold instruments his mother was using were the only things that he could feel, everything else was just pain and confusion.

He felt trapped in that chair for what felt like an eternity. When it was finally over, he couldn't move, he didn't want to. Aaron just let the weight of the straps hold him up.

"Aaron" His mother called as she came into his vision. The light was dimmed now, enabling him to see to some degree. "I want you to tell me how many fingers I'm holding up" she called out as she held up her index, middle and ring finger on her left hand. Aaron couldn't work out that there was a surgical glove on it, his mother was basically a silhouette to him at this point.

"Three" was all he could whisper back. He had no idea she had discreetly covered his working eye. He could see, it worked.

Amanda removed the straps that held his head in place and instructed him to follow her finger as she dragged it along in front of him. He just moved ever so slowly, following his mother's finger as she moved it. It was really working, she had given him his sight back. It didn't matter that her son was sprawled out in a chair in front of her, dry blood caking the socket around his right eye. All Amanda Heartfield could see was progress.

The eye looked very different than what one would expect. There was no colour elements, just a white retina that had a black outline, breaking it up from the rest of the white in the eye and a black pupil. Amanda realised she would add colour later, the main goal was ensuring it worked. Plus, this was the test model, there was no specifications of what colour they would use.

Needless to say, this fractured the whole family in two. Eric was speechless when they pair eventually returned home, without ice cream. All he could do was hold Aaron, not ever wanting to let him go. What followed was several heated arguments between the two parents. There was never a moment in the following hours where the two weren't shouting at each other. While Aaron just hid behind his dad as the two shouted obscenities at each other, he would always remember how calmly the conversation ended.

"I want you to leave" Eric sternly ordered Amanda and he held his son into his front.

For the next two years, Aaron hardly saw his mother. She was promoted to the head of Pharmax's R&D development for her breakthrough and spent much of her time at work or stationed at other more equipped facilities. Her goal was trying to essentially get this project to a point where they would be viable for sale as well as the many ethical concerns that there were.

Eric preferred it this way; she was out of the house and away from Aaron. It was only the odd weekend here, the small holiday there that she would come home and avoiding her was easy. Aaron just could never bring himself to talk to her. All he saw was someone who used him for their career, not his mother. What mother would have done that to her only son?!

When she hit a roadblock with the Bionic Eye project, she was able to return home. Eric was not happy in the slightest. Over the two years, Amanda made no effort to reconcile with her family, she just went on as if nothing had changed. In her eyes, she had given her son the sight in his right eye back. To Eric, she had perverted her responsibility as a parent and mutilated her own child.

Within two weeks of Amanda being more present in the home life. Eric asked to transfer to the new Pharmax store that would be opening in Arcadia Bay. They needed a pharmacist and Eric was one of the best so the corporate executives couldn't refuse. He took Aaron with him and that was that. Father and son and of course, blind cat made a new start on the peaceful coastal town. Amanda was left in the large house alone where she could do whatever she wanted.

For Aaron, it was the sheer lack of remorse that his mother showed that drove him away. There was a reason he didn't talk to her or about her. He couldn't bring himself to think about her because he would end up hating her and he didn't want to hate his own mother. He focused all his attention into his work and his photography as he looked to start a new life with new opportunities.

That was his past, that was the incident that saw him lose his eye. That was the reason his family life was so different. That was the reason he didn't speak to his mother.

Arcadia Bay, Aaron's dorm

Saturday, November 1st 2014 11:39am

All Kate could do was listen in shock as Aaron told her the shocking story of how he got his bionic eye. It was chilling to hear that someone's own mother was capable of that. Kate couldn't blame Aaron for crying at certain points and made sure he knew he didn't have to go on. He wanted to, he thought that she deserved to know.

It was certainly tragic, Kate had no delusions that it would be grand and glamorous but she had no idea it would be so sinister. It was hard for her to realis that this perfect boy had suffered. She wouldn't have expected something like that to have happened to Aaron but it did, it was his burden to bear and she was just glad he wouldn't bear it alone any longer.

"You know, I didn't blame her for the accident" Aaron sniffled as he wiped the tears that were forming away from his eyes. "It was the fact that she, she treated me like a thing. She was Doctor Frankenstein and I was her monster"

Kate had heard enough, she pulled him in for the tightest hug of his life before saying:

"You saved my life, I'm going to make sure yours never gets to that point again" she wiped his still watering eyes with the sleeve of the hoodie she had decided was her favourite. "That is behind you now and you never have to think about it again" if only it was that easy, Aaron lived with the knowledge his own mother basically experimented on him every day.

The two eventually parted from their embrace. Aaron was kind of glad Kate knew. He had trusted her enough to tell her for a long time and now that she knew, she would realise that he was vulnerable, just like her. She was normal, for lack of a better word, for going through what she did. He wanted to make sure she didn't feel alone.

The two of them had each other as well as the rest of the weekend to move on from this. They had friends and a whole lot of opportunities to make something out of it. It was going to be brilliant.

A/N:- So I hope this lived up to your expectations! I know many of you were curious to find out how Aaron lost his eye and I hope I was able to convey a convincing, yet believable backstory

The sex scene was for all you die hard Aaron and Kate shippers and even though I cringe at myself while writing them, there will be more between the two as they grow alongside each other.

I was worried about the pacing because obviously a devout Christian wouldn't jump into bed with anyone so I hope I was able to make it believable for you all. As you know I strive to be as accurate as I can be and hope that everything I have wrote in the story makes sense! :D

I constantly worry about pacing so please let me know how you all feel about the story and how it's going. Anything I can do to improve your experience as readers, tell me! Reviews are honestly so important to me and I would love to be told you are enjoying the story, it means the world. I also want to do my best to keep the standard as high as possible!

Fir those curious about Aaron's eye, if you google 'bionic eye' and look for a photo of a front and side view of a yellow ring around a blue eye with a silver chip on the side. That was my reference and inspiration behind it but with it looking basically indistinguishable from a real eye so I had to take some liberties. I hope that all makes sense!

In regards to Marcus, facially the closest representation of him would be Adam Jensen from Deus Ex, just not identical in the complexion. The hair and facial hair are almost identical to how I imagine him though.

I'm curious to hear all your thoughts on the sub plot with the wolfpack as well as Nathan and Brook. It would be fantastic to hear off of you all!

Finally, I'm thinking about adding another OC. This one won't be as important or prominent as Aaron but he will still have his own distinct personality that will fit in somewhere niche in the story.

Feel free to PM me with your suggestions and prompts if you have any idea's on where I can take that character and what they should look like! I'd like to collaborate with you, as readers to add something to this story!

Thank you all, see you soon!
