Sakura yawned as she waited for Sasuke and Naruto to show up. It didn't take long as Sasuke walked up and stopped in the clearing across from her. She was too tired, and even if she wanted to, saying anything to anyone this early in the morning would no doubt upset them, so she just kept her mouth shut.

Naruto came running up and aimed to punch Sasuke on the arm, but he was quick to backflip out of Naruto's reach. "Sasuke! You jerk, you were supposed to help me with the trash!"

"Tch, I rolled up our mats and folded our blankets, why would I help with the trash when you weren't doing anything."

Naruto blushed, "I was too...I was...augh~! Never mind!"

Sasuke smirked before walking up to Naruto and sitting down, the blonde followed with his back to Sasuke and Sakura only stared in bafflement as they settled comfortably against one another.

"You two stayed the night with each other?"

Sasuke turned his head away and closed his eyes, not caring to give her an answer, obviously. Naruto on the other hand...

"Sasuke stayed with Kagome and I at her place! We spend the night with her ever so often! She's really cool, and she's a great cook!"

"Tch..."

"Isn't that hard on her? Feeding the two of you I mean?" She wasn't saying it to be rude, it was just a thought that she'd spoken out loud.

"What do you mean?" Naruto smiled, "Sasuke and I help her grow the veggies, I'm sure we've brought some to your house before...Sasuke?"

Sasuke looked thoughtfully before nodding, "yeah, we have. The Haruno's are part of the list that we bring monthly baskets too."

"...monthly baskets?" She frowned, searching her memories for any kind of basket and a medium sized wicker basket came to mind. Filed with squash, potatoes, zucchini, carrots and other vegetables. She recalled stealing a cucumber from the basket once or twice for a study snack, but never thought much about it until now. "Oh! I never asked about it, I always assumed my mother bought them from the market..." she said aloud to herself, "so all this time, it was Kagome?"

Sasuke nodded, "she's been doing this since...hm... before I met you, Naruto, right?"

"Yeah, I started helping her when you and I were five, but she'd been doing it...I think...since we were born." He laughed, "she's like...really old, and really pretty."

"How old is she?" Sakura was curious, because saying she was old when she looked so...young... "she looks to be no older than eighteen or nineteen..."

Sasuke and Naruto frowned at that. They didn't know how old Kagome was, but they were very aware of her young appearance that never seemed to change. "She's...looked the same since I can remember...I don't really know her age though. Maybe Kakashi knows?"

Shrugging, Sasuke leaned his head back a bit against Naruto's back and let his eyes fall shut. He was still tired, and normally wouldn't show this to either Naruto or Sakura, but...he'd been up all night...thinking about Kagome and Kakashi's kiss. He had an inkling of a thought that the older male did it on purpose.

"How late were you both up till?" Sakura asked, testing the waters a bit as she sat down on the ground, not right beside the two, but near them.

Sasuke surprisingly answered the question, not that Naruto would have been able to. He'd been out as soon as his head had touched the pillow.

"I was up a few hours after Kakashi left."

"Wait...Kakashi-Sensei was there too?" Sakura smiled, "so I guess Kakashi-Sensei and Kagome are both in a pretty serious relationship then?" She fell back onto her hands as both Naruto and Sasuke sent glares her way. "S-sorry, it was just a joke!" She laughed, "I'm sure it's nothing serious."

Both turned away and silence fell over the trio once again as they waited for their Sensei. Each one entertaining their own thoughts, and their own opinions concerning the previous topic...but none voiced it. Hours passed and at eleven forty, who should arrive, but Kakashi.

The three had already stood and stretched, well before he'd arrived and so they were all standing and glaring at him when he finally did.

"Oh my, none of you look very happy to see me." Kakashi chuckled.

Naruto clenched his fist and pointed at his Sensei, "why are you so late!?"

"Ah, well...you see...a Black Cat crossed my path, so I ended up having to take another route."

Shaking his head, Sasuke put both hands in his pockets as he closed his eyes. 'This guy is a joke...'

"Anyways," Kakashi placed an alarm down on a tree stump, "we can get started now. The alarm is set for noon. Your assignment is quite simple...you need only take these bells from me. That's all there is to it." He jingled two bells in front of the group. "If you can't get them by noon, you'll go without lunch. You'll be tied to those posts and you'll watch as I eat my lunch."

The annoyed looks on the three of his students faces was quite entertaining, but he watched as each of them took notice of something at almost the exact same time.

Sakura frowned, "hey wait a minute,"

"You said we each need to get a bell, right Sensei?" Naruto asked as he stepped forward a bit.

"You are only holding two though," Sasuke finished their line of thought, "this is a ploy so that someone fails, right?"

"You three...are a little brighter than the previous groups that I've been saddled with, sure...but don't get cocky. You aren't the only ones to catch onto that. It's true, one of you will flunk out and go back to the Academy, or...you could all fail to get a bell, then, no one will pass, and you will all go back to the Academy."

"What!?"

Sasuke stared in silence as he ran everything over in his head and smirked a bit, 'so it's like that...' he shook his head, "calm down, Naruto."

Naruto and Sakura shared looks before turning to the calm and collected Sasuke, neither said anything as they took a page out of their much more relaxed teammates book. For now, all they could do was listen to their Sensei, and then they'd go from there.

Naruto closed his eyes tightly, '...if I go back, it'll slow me down from becoming Hokage...I know, Sasuke and I have to continue forward...and Sakura...I don't want her to go back to the academy either. We are supposed to be a three-man team...why would they make us into a team only to pit us up against-!' His eyes snapped open and he turned sharply to Sasuke who caught his eye and smirked, 'so that's it! I get it...yeah...we'll all pass, Believe It!'
