Kagome tied her hair up into a high ponytail, pulling the Sentinel Uniform on, she grabbed her hitai-ate and fixed it to her forehead before tying it tightly in the back, her long bangs falling over the forehead protector as she eyed herself curiously in the mirror. "...so this...is a thing." She sighed, "alright! Minato...Kushina...watch me! I'm finally committing myself to the village the two of you sacrificed so much for."
She left the room she was changing in and walked back to the Hokage's room where she entered to find Ibiki waiting with his other sentinels. She bowed respectfully as he nodded his head.
"Very good," Sarutobi said as he too took her in appraisingly, a memory flashing before his eyes as he found a feeling of pride surging through him. "I believe you are all ready. I can't wait to see the end results of the Exam this time around...so many amazing candidates." He dismissed the group and Kagome vanished along with Ibiki and the others.
As they appeared in the classroom of the Academy where the first exam would be taking place, they seemed to be interrupting a conflict of some kind.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, I'm Ibiki Morino, Proctor for the first test of the Chuunin Exam. You," he pointed to the dispute in the back, "from the Hidden Sound Village!"
Kagome's eyes wandered over to the back where the three sand nin were standing surrounding a group she couldn't quite see.
"No doing as you please before the Exam!" He said in annoyance, "you want to be failed at the get go?!"
"...sorry...this is our first time taking the Exam...we must be a bit jumpy, sir..."
Raising a brow, Kagome could hear the insincerity in the nin's voice, but remained silent. She was sure that the others noticed it too.
"Humph, I'll say this once, so listen up! There will be no combat without the permission of the Proctors...and even then, the use of fatal force is strictly prohibited. Anyone who even thinks of messing with me, will be disqualified immediately, got it?"
"Humph, no fatal force? That's no fun..."
Kagome heard some of the light chuckles from around her, she felt a bit at ease with some of the familiar faces, but she didn't know even half of them but maybe two. Finally getting a view of the group that had been getting harassed by the sand nin, she shook her head and sighed at Naruto's sudden outburst over a written exam. 'Well...I wanted to watch their progress...' she chuckled a little under her breath from behind Kotetsu who she'd put in front of her so not to stand out to any of the Genin quite yet. She knew that they'd notice her sooner or later, she just hoped they didn't cause a scene.

Sasuke tapped Naruto on the shoulder and broke him out of his trauma that was coming on because of the exam. He looked pointedly at the front and Naruto frowned before following his eyes, they glanced over the Sentinels before he caught onto what Sasuke was trying to show him. "Is that...?"
Sasuke nodded, not sure what to think as he realized how involved Kagome was as a civilian. For as long as he could recall, she'd never been a Shinobi. "Seems like it...I never even knew she had a hitai-ate."
Naruto shrugged, "I've never seen one in her house before..."
Sakura eyed her two teammates before shushing them. They were all ushered to draw lots and take seats, and soon, the three were no where near each other once they had all sat down and the room had become that much larger in their separation.

Kakashi sighed, walking back from Kagome's place, he'd been hoping to spend the rest of his day with her since his team was going to be occupied hopefully for the next five days or so. However, he glanced back at the compound and frowned, '...where is she?'
His walk to the Academy was done in such a manner of alertness, the civilians of Konoha were certain that he'd finally lost his mind. His only visible was darting in every direction as he looked for his...girlfriend? He wasn't sure if they had a title yet, he assumed they were dating. He'd only really taken her out twice, and he'd eaten with her at her place a few times, sometimes with Sasuke and Naruto joining them...they had kissed...quite passionately at that. This meant they were dating, right? "This stuff is more complicated than I thought." He entered the Academy and walked to the teachers lounge where he found Kurenai and Asuma sitting already. The two barely shuffled apart, as if he wouldn't notice how close they'd been. "Hey..."
"Hey," Asuma raised a hand.
Kurenai nodded her head but otherwise remained quiet at the two of them watched Kakashi walk across the room and sit down across from them.
"Question for the two of you,"
Asuma raised a brow, "yeah? What's on your mind?"
"...how do you know you're in a relationship?" The silence that fell over the three was one of such astute awkwardness that neither Asuma or Kurenai dared to answer the question. Kakashi stared at the two of them for a moment before sighing loudly, "I'm well aware that both of you have been seeing each other since your Chuunin years...it would suck if I accidentally let your personal life public."
Kurenai placed her hand on her forehead to ease a headache and sighed, "are you talking about you and Kagome?"
"Yeah,"
"You both are in a relationship...if what Shikamaru has told me is anything to go by." Asuma chuckled.
Kurenai looked at Asuma, "Shikamaru talks about her?"
"Well, Shikamaru and Chouji are decently good friends with Sasuke and Naruto, the four of them used to play together often because of Kagome's influence...so Sasuke and Naruto have mentioned the kissing and hush hush relationship between Naruto's landlady and their new Sensei."
Kakashi nodded, "so I don't need to tell her that we are in a relationship, I don't have to specify it...right?"
"Of course you do," Kurenai frowned, "just because it's obvious to those looking in, that doesn't mean she's fully aware of your intentions to her."
Sighing again, Kakashi pulled his book out, "well...I guess I'll do that the next time I see her then. She isn't at her compound, so I have to wait for her to pop up."
Kurenai raised a brow, "isn't she a sentinel for the Exam?"
"..."
Kurenai watched the only visible eye of Kakashi Hatake, "I guess you weren't aware. She was made an official Shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Leaf only about thirty minutes ago. So it's no surprise. I only know because I saw her when she was on her way to get dressed."
That awkward silence drifted over the room again and Kurenai realized that maybe she should have just let him find out naturally on his own. Asuma released a puff of smoke and smirked at his friend who was still in the early stages of his relationship with Kagome. That was the worst. He chuckled, "Shikamaru mentioned something else...probably just a silly rumor..."
Kakashi looked up, "what?"
"Something about Sasuke liking Kagome...I didn't listen much since they are all twelve, but if I think of how young I was when I started dating Kurenai,"
At all of this, Kakashi had kind of zoned out, he couldn't hear Asuma anymore as he thought about Sasuke's intentions towards Kagome. 'I might have to talk to Shikamaru and find out what he knows...' He sighed for what felt like the tenth time that day, 'I just wanted to spend the day with her while I didn't have the kids, how did they still end up getting her to themselves, even during the Exam?'

Kagome jotted something down on her clipboard, grabbing her kunai and letting it fly across the room where it embedded itself into the exam papers of some leaf ninja's. "Number seventeen, you and your teammates are done, please vacate the room." She wasn't the first to call out cheaters, watching the three get up and leave with their heads bowed, she shook her head and glanced to Naruto who was laying with his head on the table, his foot tapping the floor a mile a minute as he tried to figure out what he should do. '...poor Naruto,' she smiled, returning her attention to the rest of the Examinees. The job wasn't difficult...quite easy, actually. Just a matter of waiting till Ibiki called time...another number was called, and the person started yelling and arguing with the Sentinel who called the team out. This Sentinel didn't care for the arguing and was fast to act on the validity of his word being questioned. Kagome continued writing, not bothering to pay attention to the other Sentinel, that wasn't her job. No...she was just here to catch the Genin who weren't capable of stealth. She grinned, not hard at all.
