Monday, November 29th; May's Residence; 9:05 p.m.
The three girls were all settled in May's room for the past half hour. May was laying flat on her stomach while constantly sticking her legs in the air. Dawn was sitting upright, enclosing her arms around her knees. The two watched Leaf as she stood on the floor, making gestures with her fingers.
The brunette continued as she pretended to crank what looked like an old movie camera. Both Dawn and May understood the gesture and exclaimed, "A movie!"
Leaf smiled and nodded in response before holding up two fingers. May nodded before saying, "Okay that's two words."
The two girls continued to watch interestingly before Leaf made some odd facial expressions, leaving them bewildered. Leaf pressed her lips into a thin line, wondering how she could deliver the clue, before she looked around the room and spotted a stuffed animal on the dresser. Both Dawn and May furrowed their eyebrows before Leaf dramatically held the stuffed animal in mid-air and mouthed a song.
May was utterly confused and blinked repetitively. "I have no idea what this movie is."
Dawn blinked before Leaf attempted to subtly cut off the stuffed animal's neck with her finger. And that's when the pieces connected as she jumped out of the bed excitedly. "Oh, it's Lion King!" She grinned.
Leaf sighed in relief. "Yes, finally!"
May looked at them in disbelief before she changed her position on the bed and was now sitting straight. "What?! How does that make any sense?"
Dawn rolled her eyes. "Come on May, she was holding the stuffed animal high in the air, which is what happens to Simba in the first part of the movie. And then she tried to kill it which obviously means Mufasa's death in the movie."
May narrowed her eyes. "Fine, but that was so easy for you. You've watched that movie a million times before."
Leaf snickered. "You're just jealous because Dawn's winning."
May scoffed in response while Dawn smirked, crossing her arms. "True. I thought you were the champ, May? But here I am kicking your-"
"Okay, fine," May said before she stood up, sporting a smirk of her own. "Let's play a classic." Dawn and Leaf wondered what she was referring to before saying, "Truth or dare."
Leaf gasped before smiling, excited at the idea while Dawn groaned in response. "Do we have to?"
May looked at Dawn, the smirk not faltering. "What, are you suddenly scared? Come on, Dawn, don't be a stick in the mud."
The last time she played this game, the girls had dared her to lick the bottom of her shoe and to this day, she was still utterly disgusted and could remember the repulsive stench. She cringed at the memory. "Fine but I'm not licking anything disgusting."
Both girls laughed in response before Leaf said, "Okay we'll make it a bit easier," she said before Dawn sighed, still keeping a suspicious look in her eye. The girls returned towards the bed before Leaf clapped her hands together and said, "Okay. I'll start. May, truth or dare?"
"Dare," she responded instantaneously. "What do you got? I'll do anything." Honestly, Dawn wasn't surprised. May literally would do anything just to win at a game. She was undoubtedly the most daring out of the group.
Leaf pressed her finger towards her chin, remaining in thought. She then smiled to herself before she said, "I dare you to stuff ice in your bra and leave it there for a whole minute."
May snorted. "That's it?" Leaf's smiled was instantly wiped away. May then removed herself from the bed and walked out of her room, probably to the kitchen. Dawn and Leaf glanced at each other before they followed her from behind.
Once they approached the kitchen, they watched as May looked into the freezer and took out an ice tray, before removing not one, but two ice cubes. Leaf watched incredulously as May then casually placed them inside her shirt, slightly shivering at the contact, but then slowly adjusting to the change. Leaf could notice her shirt stared to form a stain as the ice started to melt. Dawn watched nonchalantly before staring at her timer in her phone until the time passed. "Okay, time's up."
May removed the ice cubes with a confident smile on her face before disposing them. "That was easy." Leaf rolled her eyes before the girls proceeded to walk out of the kitchen and towards the living room.
Dawn and Leaf sat together on one couch while May was sitting on another couch opposite of them. "Okay," May started before looking at Leaf. "Truth or dare, Leaf?"
Leaf was highly sceptical and decided to play it safe, despite wanting to choose the other option. "Truth."
But then May grinned, a mischievous look in her eye. Leaf suddenly wondered if she was going to regret making her choice. "Between the two of us, if you were gay, who would you consider making out with?"
Dawn dropped her jaw in shock at the question brought up while Leaf both groaned and cringed in response. "Seriously, May?"
May laughed. "Hey, it's just a question, it's not like you actually have to make out with one of us," she teased before Leaf narrowed her eyes in response.
Leaf glanced between the two girls and after giving it some thought, she let out a long sigh. "Probably Dawn," she muttered.
Dawn sheepishly laughed, wondering if she should be flattered or not. May dramatically gasped. "Wow, I'm hurt, Leaf," she said, placing a hand to where her chest was.
Leaf rolled her eyes and threw the couch pillow towards her as the brunettes started laughing. "Hey you asked!" May placed the couch pillow beside her, continuing to laugh before the laughter slowly started to subside as the two girls looked at Dawn. "Alright, Dawn, your turn now."
Dawn internally sighed in relief that Leaf was asking her; she really would be in a lose-lose situation if May had been the one questioning her. With a calmed and nonchalant expression, she responded, "Dare."
Leaf seemed slightly surprised, slightly suspecting the blunette would choose the other option, but then nodded. "Okay. Hmm…"
"Please don't tell me to lick anything!" Dawn quickly added before the two girls laughed in response.
Leaf shook her head in response, the smile still evident. "No worries," she said before she suddenly snapped her finger for emphasis. "I know! I dare you to prank call Paul."
May made an 'o' formation with her lips, slightly impressed. "Oh, that's good."
Dawn rolled her eyes. "This is so stupid and immature. Paul would know I'm calling him because he has my number saved," she said, before rendering the two girls speechless, but only for only a short while. Dawn then watched curiously before Leaf handed Dawn her phone. "Oh," the blunette said with a sarcastic tone, remembering Paul didn't have Leaf's number. "Of course."
Both girls giggled excitedly to themselves similar to toddlers before Dawn sighed and dialled Paul's number, silently hoping he wouldn't pick up. She doubted that Paul would answer a random number anyway. But to her surprise, she stopped hearing the dial tone and now heard his familiar and attractive voice. "Hello?"
She widened her eyes a bit. Leaf gestured for her to place it on speaker mode, and Dawn sighed before doing so and placed the phone on the couch.
"Hello?" Paul's voice was heard again.
Dawn cringed before clearing her throat a bit and attempted to deepen her voice, so it would be difficult to recognize her. "Is your refrigerator running?" Both girls face-palmed at the lame and cliché line before Dawn glared at her friends. She wasn't exactly an expert at pranks.
"…What? Who is this?"
Dawn continued while the two of them started to hide their laughter by covering their mouths. "You better go and catch your fridge, it's running," she said, sporting a deep voice again, as she cringed to herself again.
The line was silent for a few seconds and Dawn wondered if he was going to consider hanging up. "Nice try, sunshine." Dawn couldn't find a response and remained speechless; she couldn't believe he was able to recognize her voice. "And yes, my fridge is running just fine," she heard him say and could envision him smirking.
May and Leaf couldn't prevent themselves from laughing out loud this time, while Dawn just sat there embarrassingly, unable to form a response. Before Paul could say anything, she took the phone in her palm and hung up, deciding that this was probably the last time she'd play truth or dare with her friends.
Tuesday; November 30th; Lumoise High; 4:05 p.m.
It was after school hours and Paul was in the library, currently cleaning one of the bookshelves, when his onix eyes glanced at a certain book. He noticed it was a bit dusty, so he wiped the cover with the cloth he was holding. He read the title, interestingly and once he read the summary and the synopsis, he was intrigued.
He was about to start reading until he heard Gretchen's voice behind him. "You can have that book, if you want. Consider it as a gift, since your birthday's tomorrow."
Paul parted his lips in surprise. He struggled to remember tomorrow's date but when he realized that it was indeed his birthday tomorrow, he was slightly surprised that Gretchen would remember an insignificant detail such as that, especially considering the fact that he never spoke about it. "Exactly how do you know it's my birthday tomorrow?"
Little to their knowledge, Dawn was overhearing the conversation as she stood behind one of the bookshelves. She hadn't meant to eavesdrop on them, though. She just happened to hear something interesting while she was looking for Paul. Dawn scrunched her eyebrows in confusion. Why didn't he tell me it's his birthday tomorrow?
Gretchen pointed to his school ID that was attached to his shirt. "Everyone's date of birth is there. And since I'm a great employer, why not?"
Paul was pleased and smiled in response. "Thank you."
Meanwhile, Dawn was sporting a grin on her face; this would be the perfect opportunity to do something nice for Paul and plan a surprise of some sort. But she had to be cautious since he wasn't aware of the fact that she now knew about his birthday. The blunette walked out of the aisle and soon spotted Paul, who was now talking to a student.
She waited for a few minutes as she watched him go through different bookshelves, assuming he was looking for a specific book for said student. Once he was able to find it, the student thanked him in return and that was when Dawn walked up to him, his back facing her.
Dawn was quicker than last time and placed her arms on his shoulders before he could turn around. "Boo!" she exclaimed. But Paul didn't flinch as he nonchalantly turned around, raising an eyebrow. The grin on her face slowly turned into a small frown. "Really? Does nothing scare you?"
Paul crossed his arms and looked at her, briefly wondering why she'd expect him to be scared. "Sunshine, I don't even get scared at horror movies, so why would I be frightened because of you?"
She blinked in response and nodded to herself. "Good point," she said before watching him continue to walk to another bookshelf as he started to stalk the books. She briefly flashbacked to the time Paul intentionally made her drop the books from her hands and she started to smile to herself.
Paul paused for a second and glanced at her, noticing her smile. "What?"
Dawn blinked, shaking her thoughts away, as she cleared her throat. "Nothing. Uh, anyways, are you busy right now?"
He raised an eyebrow. She could clearly see he was somewhat busy, but he assumed she wanted to talk about something important. "I guess I have time."
The blunette smiled in response. "Okay great," she said before grabbing his hand and directing themselves out of the aisle and towards a nearby table. She sat on a vacant seat while he sat on the seat in the opposite direction. Paul stared at her curiously as she took out her phone. "I was thinking we could continue our game of twenty-one questions."
He narrowed his onix eyes instantaneously. "Really?" he asked in disbelief, before he stood up from his seat, not interested in this at the moment.
Dawn stood up as well. "Come on, it'll only take a few minutes!" She protested.
"Dawn, I'm working. Can't it wait?"
"No, it can't wait, it's important!"
Paul was confused. "How is this important right now?"
Dawn couldn't find a viable reason, so she stumbled on her words. "I-It just is, okay? Now take a small break and you can continue afterwards. Besides, I'm sure Gretchen wouldn't mind."
At this point, Paul figured it would be futile arguing with her, so he sighed in defeat and sat down. Dawn smiled in satisfaction before sitting down herself. "So…" she started, opening her 'notes' app in her phone. "What's your favorite…cake flavour?" she asked, casually shrugging.
Paul began to grow suspicious, as he narrowed his eyes again. "…That's an oddly specific question."
Dawn scoffed to herself. "W-what? No it's not, people ask each other their favorite cake flavours all the time!" She defended lamely. Paul was about to utter something before she intervened. "Just answer the question already."
Paul sighed in response. "I don't know…I'm not even sure if I like cake," he started but then noticed Dawn's disappointed look. "I guess carrot cake is okay." He then noticed her typing on her phone, which only increased his suspicion.
"Okay. What's a thing that you don't have, but would like to have in the future?" she asked. Paul stared at her due the ridiculous questions and it was obvious what she was trying to do. "Could be tomorrow or, you know, whenever, hehe," she added, laughing sheepishly.
Paul's lips formed into a small smirk. "This wouldn't have to do with the fact that my birthday's tomorrow, would it?"
Dawn widened her eyes and pressed her lips into a thin line. But she still kept up the façade and pretended to be shocked. "What? It's your birthday tomorrow? I had no idea!" She exclaimed, trying to be dramatic. "Why didn't you tell–" Paul snatched the phone from her palm, effectively getting her to stop talking "Hey!"
Dawn frowned when he read the title out loud. "Items to get for Paul's birthday tomorrow." He looked at her, a smile threatening to form on his lips. "What are you trying to do, Dawn?"
She groaned before retrieving her phone back from his hands. "I was just trying to do something nice for your birthday tomorrow. I'm your girlfriend so I want it to be special. But now you know everything."
Paul was flattered as his lips spread into a small smile, despite being a little sceptical of how she became aware about his birthday. He couldn't remember the last time he celebrated his birthday, however. He never had an explicit reason to during Reggie's absence. Plus, the times he did celebrate his birthday made him dislike it quite a bit. All the festivities were unnecessary and placed a bit of pressure on him. "You don't need to. To be honest, I don't even like celebrating it that much."
She parted her lips in surprise. Though, she should have expected something like this from him. Paul wasn't exactly fond of parties and other social activities, so it made sense to also not have an excitement for his birthday. She frowned. "I get it," she said, and then added, "But think about it. You only turn eighteen once in your entire life. Imagine fifty years into the future when you look back at that day and you remember almost nothing. Wouldn't that suck?"
Paul simply shrugged in response. "It depends on your perspective. I wouldn't mind it. It's just another day in your life, not a big deal."
Dawn narrowed her eyes. "Such a sour plum," she accused, before standing up from her seat. Paul watched her curiously as she sighed dramatically. "Such a shame. My boyfriend won't let me do anything nice for him," she continued, shaking her head in disapproval. She kept stealing glances at him to see if he'd give in.
He rolled his eyes at her dramatic antics. He stood up from his seat and crossed his arms knowingly. "That's not going to work on me."
Dawn groaned in response and stepped closer towards him. "Come on, let me do this. I wanna make tomorrow special. It may just be an ordinary day for you, but it can be a great experience too," she said, practically begging with her sapphire blue eyes. Paul watched carefully and could tell she was being genuine. He looked down when she realized she was interlocking their fingers together. "Please?" she pleaded as he glanced at her once again.
He sighed. He supposed he could give this a chance, even though there wasn't a need for her to do so. In fact, he should be doing nice things for her. Hopefully he could return the favour in the future. "Fine." Dawn grinned in response, letting go of his hand and clapped excitedly. "But I have a few conditions."
She looked confused as she raised one of her brows. Despite that, she decided she was going to be respectful of his choices. "Okay."
"No grand parties or anything of that sort. And no singing 'happy birthday'," he told her, as Dawn lightly giggled in response.
She nodded in agreement of his terms. "Okay. No need to worry. Trust me, you'll have a great day tomorrow."
Paul wasn't afraid to admit to himself that he was somewhat looking forward to it. After not celebrating his birthday for over four years, he couldn't help his curiosity. He stepped closer towards her, and saw her eyes widen, as he invaded her personal space. His lips lightly grazed her right ear as he whispered, "I look forward to it."
She pulled back, suddenly out of breath and her heart already on overdrive. She couldn't find the courage to look at him and just blushed furiously before turning around and practically ran out of the library, leaving Paul watching in amusement.
About an hour later, Dawn found herself at a local supermarket dragging a cart hurriedly. She had less than twenty-four hours to plan everything out, and the worst part was she didn't even know where to start. She decided to work with what she knew so far.
She glanced at the bakery section and decided to look for a carrot cake. Though none of the delicious cakes displayed seemed like the right type. Frowning, she looked up at the sales person. "Excuse me, do you have any carrot cake?" The lady simply shook her head in response and apologized for the inconvenience. Dawn grumbled to herself. "Great," she muttered sarcastically. "Now where am I going to get a carrot cake?"
As if it just hit her, she grinned in response before bringing out her cell phone and called Leaf. After about three rings, Leaf's voice was heard. "Hey what's up?"
"Leaf, I need a huge favour! I need you to make a carrot cake for tomorrow."
"Oh, I'm doing fine, thanks so much for asking, Dawn," Leaf said sarcastically as Dawn rolled her eyes in response.
"Please? It's Paul's birthday tomorrow and there's none at the supermarket."
Leaf gasped from across the phone. "Don't you know that store bought cake is the worst?! Home made cake is so much better. Tell you what, you buy the ingredients and come over, so we could make it together, okay?"
Dawn nodded in agreement. "Sounds good, you just send me the list of ingredients you need."
The next half hour consisted gathering ingredients for the cake, but Dawn was also contemplating what gift to get Paul. She glanced at over the various aisles. Video games? Nah, Paul probably doesn't like them that much. Cell phone? No, he already has one, she thought to herself.
She groaned to herself; this was going to be harder than she initially thought. Maybe she needed some advice. With that thought in mind, she pulled out her cell phone again and dialled a number. It rang for about four turns before a familiar voice was heard.
"Hello?"
Dawn smiled, relieved that he picked up. "Reggie!"
"Oh hey, Dawn, how are you?" he asked.
Dawn was walking through an aisle looking for something to catch her interest. "I'm trying to look for a gift for Paul's birthday tomorrow, but I have no idea what to get him. I was thinking maybe since you're his brother and all, you may know something," she said, hoping for a positive response.
"Hmm," he thought to himself. "I can't remember the last time we've ever celebrated his birthday, let alone got a gift for Paul," he said, causing Dawn to frown in the process. "Hey, but you know I think you ought to get him a few shirts considering you stained some of them," he teased as he started chuckling.
Dawn gasped in response and stuttered. "H-how do you know about that?"
Reggie continued laughing. "We both do laundry in the morning, what do you expect?" Dawn chose not to respond, her embarrassment getting the best of her. "Honestly, I don't think Paul cares for gifts. He only cares about his family and relationships."
Dawn stopped walking and rested her arm on the cart. "Yeah, but I still want to get him something," she reminded him.
The line was silent for a bit until he said, "Yeah…" He trailed off for a bit until he added, "Honestly, instead of getting him something, why don't you take him somewhere?" he suggested. "Last time he took you to an art gallery, right? Well you could take him somewhere too."
She was immediately impressed and in agreement of the idea. "That actually sounds perfect, Reggie! You're the best!" She exclaimed as the two started laughing. When the laughing ceased, she recalled what Reggie had just mentioned earlier about the importance of family. "Hey, do you think that maybe you could invite Maylene over tomorrow? It'd be great! You guys could have a small get-together or something."
Reggie hummed in agreement. "Not a bad idea, but I don't know if she'd be available. I'll see what I can do, though." Dawn hummed in agreement. "So, anything else you need help with?"
She smiled at the generosity. "Nope. You've been such a big help, thanks so much. Oh, and uh, please don't tell Paul about any of this."
Reggie chuckled in response. "Why would I? Honestly, I haven't seen Paul this happy in years. He's a completely changed person now. What you're doing now and what you've already done…it's amazing."
Even though he couldn't see it, Dawn brushed back a strand of her hair behind her ear and smiled. "Paul's done a lot for me too, I just wanna return the favour."
"Of course. Well anyway, I have to get going, but good luck with all the preparations!" he exclaimed, and Dawn quickly gave him a thanks before hanging up.
After about an hour, she found herself struggling to carry multiple bags to the car, and her arms were tiring out. She ended up with more ingredients and also bought a gift for Paul, just to be on the safe side. She also planned a surprise date tomorrow, which she was most excited about.
Just after she placed the grocery bags into the trunk of the car, she heard someone call her name. She turned around and caught sight of a familiar woman. Dawn realized it was the same woman she had met in the restaurant, as she recognized those purple eyes. "Hi," she greeted enthusiastically.
She gave a warm smile in response. "Hey Dawn, how have you been?"
"I've been doing great…" she said, trailing off, struggling to remember her name. "Trust me I know you, I just don't remember your name."
She slightly laughed in response. "It's Vivian," Dawn nodded in response before she saw her going through her pocket. She pulled out a few notes and handed it to her. "That's for paying for my lunch that day."
Dawn smiled in response before she received the money and put it in her purse. "No problem. So, I assume things have gotten better then?"
Vivian straightened her lips into a thin line and sighed. "Actually, no. I've been struggling financially, I had to sell a pair of earrings to pay you back." She confessed.
At the confession, Dawn felt outright horrible and was taken aback. "What? I can't take this then," she said before looking through her purse again.
"No," Vivian intervened. "Please keep it. That's the least of my worries right now." Dawn frowned, but hesitantly agreed as she stopped fumbling with her purse. "I really want to wish my nephew a happy birthday tomorrow, but I'm afraid of everyone's reaction."
Dawn blinked at the major coincidence. "Your nephew's birthday tomorrow?" Vivian nodded in response. "That's cool, it's also my boyfriend Paul's birthday tomorrow."
Vivian widened her eyes at the name and couldn't believe that she knew him. "You're his girlfriend?" she asked in astonishment. Dawn slowly nodded, and then widened her eyes, as if she was putting two and two together.
She was about to say something until Dawn grinned in response. "That's awesome! I never knew Paul had an aunt, I thought it was just him and Reggie. It makes total sense now, you look just like them…aside from the hair though," she said, realizing her hair matched hers. Then Dawn added, "I know! You should come over for the get together tomorrow."
Vivian hesitated as she sighed. "Oh, I don't know, Dawn…"
Dawn raised her brow in confusion. "Why not? You said it yourself, though. You want to wish Paul, don't you? This would be a perfect opportunity."
Vivian nodded. "Yeah but I meant via the phone or something. I don't know if I'm ready to face Paul and Reggie, the last time I did, it didn't end well."
Dawn figured the last time she visited Paul was a long time ago, before he became the person he was today. She was almost positive that he'd be more welcoming towards her. "No need to worry. That Paul you knew before? Consider him gone. He's changed so much these past few months. I'm sure everything will be fine."
"Dawn, you don't understand," she protested, "I abandoned them four years ago. I don't even forgive myself for doing that to them, especially to Paul."
Dawn blinked, a bit perplexed. She suddenly recalled Paul's misconception a few months back. "Wait, so you mean…" she trailed off, looking at her, as she glanced at her dark blue hair. It all made sense now. "So, you crashed into Reggie that night." Vivian nodded in response and the two remained silent. Dawn bit her lip; honestly, she was taking a big risk here, but her heart was telling her that she was doing the right thing. "I don't care. All that matters right now is that you're trying to redeem yourself and Paul should at least give you a chance. And I'm pretty sure he will."
"Are you sure?" she asked tentatively.
Dawn gave her a firm nod. "No need to worry."
Vivian sighed in response, still unsure of how this would turn out, but for the longest while, she wanted to give this another try. If not now, then when? "Alright. I'll be there tomorrow," she said, leaving Dawn with the biggest grin on her features.
Wednesday; December 1st
For the first time in several years, Paul woke up actually looking forward to celebrating his birthday. It was safe to say he felt ecstatic and couldn't wait for this evening. All he hoped was that the celebration wasn't too extravagant; he'd no doubt feel uncomfortable.
But the events of the day felt very…odd.
Firstly, the only person to have wished him was Reggie. He would have expected other people to wish him as well, especially Drew and the other guys, but he wasn't sure if they simply forgot or didn't want to make him feel awkward, (He'd feel overwhelmed and uncomfortable if too many people granted him with wishes or gifts) thought he chose not to question it.
Then he began to grow suspicious when Gretchen asked him to stay overtime. She knew he had to be home for the celebration and she was obviously aware it was his birthday, so he didn't question it and could only assume she was part of this shenanigan with Dawn. In fact, she was probably stalling for time and Paul chuckled at the thought.
But after his shift was over, in the middle of driving home (quite anticipatingly), the car randomly failed and stopped despite being filled. He grew a bit irritated at this and rolled his eyes. Did Dawn really need this much time that they had to toy with his only way of getting home? He shook his head in disbelief, hoping whatever she was planning better make up for all this nonsense.
He got out of his vehicle, ensuring it was locked before he realized his place was only a few blocks away. At least there was one good thing that came out of this rather confusing day. He honestly didn't mind walking the rest of the way.
After about forty minutes, he was finally on his house porch. Even though he could hear little to nothing from opposite the front door, he knew for a fact, that as soon as he entered and turned on the lights, everyone would probably jump out from a hiding place and 'surprise' him.
Quite cliché.
But when he did unlock the door and turn on the lights…nothing happened. Paul raised his brows in confusion as he looked around.
No one was here; not even Reggie.
"What the hell is going on?" he muttered to himself before he decided to call Dawn. It continued ringing until he realized she wasn't going to pick up. He sighed to himself, thinking this was getting outright ridiculous.
He then noticed something on the dining table and when he realized it was a card with the words 'Happy Birthday' imprinted on the cover, he snorted to himself before picking it up and opening it.
Dear Sour Plum,
Sorry for whatever happened today haha. I asked Gretchen to let you continue working overtime, so I could get everything ready. And then Drew and the others wanted to join in and steal your car's battery. I was against the idea at first, but you know how they are.
Don't worry, I'm sure I'll be able to make it up to you.
By the way, do you know how difficult making carrot cake is? I mean, it's probably easy but it's not that easy for me, especially when I know nothing about baking. I tried to make cookies one time and I almost burned down the house because I left the oven on. Anyway, the cake came out great though, after a few hours, but Leaf was a big help! I decorated it myself though, so at least there's that haha.
I was also having a hard time trying to get a gift for you. But…I got some help from Reggie (Now that I think about it…is that considered cheating?) and I have a surprise for you after the whole celebration. And I promise, it's nothing too big, so no need to worry!
Also, since you're reading this, you're probably at home, annoyed and probably wondering where we are. Well…I'm sorry to say this, but you're gonna have to go somewhere else; the place we all know I love…my favourite restaurant.
See you there! Wear something nice.
P.S. Happy Birthday.
There was a small heart drawn near the words 'Happy Birthday', which made Paul simply shake his head in amusement. He placed the card down on the dining table and smiled to himself. If he had to admit, he didn't expect this, but was pleasantly surprised.
This better be worth it, he thought.
Well I had planned a lot more, but this was turning out to be longer than I had originally expected, but hey that just means even more chapters to write haha. So I'm gonna split it.
So how do you guys think Paul will react on seeing Vivian? Do you think he's going to be bothered by her presence or nah?
By the way, gen 8 for Pokemon has been revealed since a while now. What do you guys think of everything? I personally don't like the new Dynamax feature that much, it actually looks a bit comical, but I think I need to get used to it and actually play the games before I get a true opinion on it. Also #teamscorbunny!
My final is next week and then I finally have a break, so I know that's probably where I should tell you guys to expect more updates, but honestly, I can't say for sure. I've been away from home for a while so I wanna spend some time with my family and take a small break. I'll still try to write every now and then though, so don't worry.
So, hopefully this chapter was good enough to keep you guys occupied till the next one!
See you next time!
