DJ's p.o.v continued
"My daughter Faith has Down Syndrome. She is also biracial. However will Manny and I cope with these two things?" I stressed. "We have a big full house of love. God gave you Faith for a special reason" Stephanie comforted me. "DJ, Manny is here to see you" Dad notified me from downstairs. "I don't want to talk to Manny. I am not ready. Please tell him that I am not home" I requested. "You should talk to Manny. He is Faith's father after all" Stephanie strongly advised.
Reluctantly and yet bravely, I discussed Faith's Down Syndrome with Manny. We talked privately outside the house. Our romance had been a whirlwind, but we understood each other. We decided to keep and love Faith no matter what. I never expected for Manny to ask for my hand in marriage. I never planned to remarry after Tommy's death, but my circumstances have changed. "Yes, I will marry you. My water just broke. This is not normal because I am only seven months pregnant" I alerted my African American prince.
