Nina's P.O.V.:

Christmas and New years came and went with no problems. Which means Valentine's Day was here. Yes, it was February. I spent all of last night helping the girls get ready for dates. Jasper and Rose were going to Montana for the week and should be back in time for my birthday. Jane and Sheena were going skydiving, so I had their hair braided. While Jessica and Angela were going to a spa, so I left their hair down. It seemed like everyone but me had plans for today. Kate was going go karting with Garrett, Tanya was going to the movies with Zack, Sophie even agreed to go on a boat ride with Eleazar, Bree was going to the zoo with Dash, Carmen was going Skiing with Gray, Cori was going to try fishing with Charlie, Player took Leah to the Science center, Ben took Sonia on a picnic, Eric and Mike were headed to the batting cages, Dimitri was taking Alice on a shopping trip, Carlisle was going to cook for Julia , Jean-Paul and Antonio were going mountain climbing, Sam was convinced by Maggie to explore some caves, Alec took Ivy bowling, Seth took Yazz to the arcade, And Esme was being taken to a fair by Felix. Effectively leaving me alone maybe I would go to the museum to give Carlisle and Julia space. Since Riley hasn't even asked me on a date or maybe I'll go to a karaoke bar and pretend to get drunk off my ass.

Alice must have seen something before heading out because when I started to get myself for my day alone, I found a light blue V-neck shirt, tan pants and brown boots sitting on top of a blue jacket with the accessories Riley gave me. I just finished getting dressed when there was a knock on my door. "I was just going to head out Uncle Carlisle have a good day with Julia." I said opening the door to see Riley standing there with something behind his back. He looked at my neck and I got self conscious, so I grabbed a small light green scarf to cover my scars. He laughed at this but smiled.

He opened and closed his mouth a few times as if trying to say something. He then held flowers out to me. "I was wondering if you would give this city boy the honor of a date on Valentine's Day. I was thinking we could go to the Museum if that pleases you." He said after I took the flowers and put them in water. I smiled at him and tried to grab my purse, but he wasn't having it. Saying it was his treat gifts and all. He did let me drive though I heard the news of a concert that I wanted to see coming to town while listening to the radio this morning. It was next week, and tickets were sold out so I doubt I will be going this time and it was on my birthday my siblings normally want to spend the day with me. So, I pushed the thoughts of the concert out of my head. Riley wanted me to experience a subway train and told me where to park instead of driving strait to the museum we parked at a mall. Then we went to the bus terminal but instead of going where the buses are we walked past them and went down some stairs then we were on a train platform. He handed me earplugs and told me to trust him putting some in his own ears. I followed his actions and oh my god the train was loud when it arrived. We got on the train we only found one seat but that was okay I sat on his lap.

I enjoyed looking out the window sometimes we were underground and sometimes not it was amazing. When we got off the train and it left, we took the ear plugs out and made our way to the street close to the museum. When we got to the museum Riley paid for our tickets and even paid to see the special exhibit that was on at the time. Something about dolls in high end clothes. It was cool when we got to the room with the stuff from the 19th century Riley asked questions that I was all to happy to answer for him. "Wow those dresses look uncomfortable." He said as an offhanded comment, and I laughed my head off before whispering that he had no idea. I described in detail what it was like getting in to one of those dresses in the morning and out of it at night. Let's say I covered everything he could ask. Even as we got into other parts of history. He loved my stories of going through the women's rights movement. Needless to say, Peter wasn't happy about my involvement in that. Or my involvement in the whole getting left-handed people accepted thing.

"Wow you've been through a lot what are you working on now?" He asked me and I smiled and explained that I was working on a cleanup project when I have the time. Taking trash out of water supplies and planting trees and other plants. I also told him once it was possible, I wanted to make all my cars electric. Riley listened to everything I said through out our trip to the museum then he said he had a surprise for me. He blindfolded me and took us back on the subway. We waited a few stops, and he took inside after a couple blocks. I was aware that the sun was going down since the it was starting to get colder, I heard a few people complaining about that. I was seated after being on what I think was an elevator and taken up some stairs. Riley removed my blindfold and sat across from me.

"It's not a proper date without dinner if one of us needs to eat, is it?" He asked at a level that the humans around wouldn't hear his comment. I looked out the window and found out that we were really high up. I was scared but loved the adrenaline runnin' through my vanes. I also found the longer we were up there the more my fear fadin' away. When the waiter came over Riley got himself a salad and water while I actually ordered something to eat.

"We should get something or someone to eat after if you need it." I whispered to him, and he told me that he did that early this morning when he went to get the flowers. I smiled after dinner he led me to an observation deck. We took pictures and once the sun went down, we started going back to the ground level to head home. We had our earplugs back in as we went back to the subway station, we got some looks about the earplugs, but he defended me. We got to the mall and to our car but apparently, he was done with me yet. He was behind the wheel smiling.

"Alice packed extra clothes for us were going camping and star gazing your brother said that you enjoyed that." I was told as we drove past our place to a camp site. I smiled as he tried to set up a tent. I helped him after building a fire. We spent the night looking at the stars and telling stories. He was right he wasn't that much of a city boy. He spent the weekends working in a flower shop but didn't know that there was an entire language of flowers. He told me that he knew a few things from when he was a boy scout as a kid but forgot how to set up a tent. He added wood to our fire, and I listened to Everything he told me about his life. He was an only child supposedly, but he thinks his mom cheated on his dad.

He did look like Charlie in some ways but I'm guessing in others he looked like his mother. I met her once but never his dad. He also looked like Graham who never knew his parents maybe I'll look into it later maybe they are related. I was pulled out of my thoughts by Riley kissing my neck. When he pulled away it was to get my guitar from the car. He handed it to me, and I started strumming away I wondered if he would want to hear something I was working on.

Carmen's P.O.V.:

I never really did the whole valentine's thing but here I am. With Gray on a ski lift in Switzerland. Where we'll be for the next few days. Nina was upset while helping us get ready to go. But Riley came to Jasper and I for ideas days ago. Jasper suggested horseback riding, but Riley admitted that he didn't know how to do that. Jasper groaned and said that him and Graham are going to have to learn. I suggested that they go see her friend in L.A., but Riley preferred to stay in Canada for now. Okay I respect that. "The museum is an option if you don't mind her talkin' your ear off." Jasper said as a sly comment.

"Camping is another favorite of hers if you are in to hiking and outdoors." I added and he told us his plan right then. Ask her out last minute, take her on the subway train to the museum, take her to dinner, then take her camping for a few days close by here in case something happens. Jasper was about to ask if he knew first aid, and other camping basics when Riley said something we didn't expect.

"I know enough sir I was a boy scout before high school might be a bit rusty, but I should be okay "Riley explained which led to Jasper testing the poor guy. He passed thankfully. I was pulled out of my thoughts by Gray running his hand through my hair. He was still a bit angry with the guy at the ski lift suggesting that I don't go to the top of the mountains because I'm a girl. Sure, no problem with the Australian guy skiing from the top but a girl from Texas it's too dangerous.

Gray and I brought our skies with us mine were red naturally and his were a dark blue. We got off the lift and kissed each other before heading down the mountain. We got halfway down the mountain before I felt something grabbing my ski it was just one of Jasper's enemies, I got them off, but I could see sparks coming off Graham. Next thing I knew the vampire was nothing but ash and the sparks around Graham were gone. I didn't know what happened I knew that Graham was mad, but I didn't know what happened and he was just as confused as I was because there were scorch marks and ash where my attacker just was as if they were hit by supercharged lightning.

Graham and I made it down to the bottom no problem, but he was tired and there was an avalanche on the way down, so he pretended to have hurt his leg on a rock while turning. I helped him to our room and told him to take his goggles off once the door was closed.

We both didn't expect what happened his eyes changed color. Not that it was a bad thing they were now Electric blue with a ring and flexes of gold. I couldn't stop staring at them. "Carmen Wha' are ya starin' at? Do I have somethin' in my hair?" he asked me before I got him a mirror. We came here with sunglasses on so no one would notice Graham's interesting golden eyes. I hide mine when people who don't know are around. Like for example if I was with Julia and Charlie sure I would drop the illusion. But other people no way. I curled into Gray, and we watched the sun set from our window the fact that we wore all the winter gear helped hide the fact that we weren't human I helped a little, but I couldn't stop others from sparkling completely.

"Think Neens would be upset if Jasper and I miss her birthday this year?" I asked Gray. Jasper and I found out about the concert she wanted to go to on her birthday. But every time an ad came on for it, she didn't ask about going because of the date. So, Jasper and Rose were going to be late coming back they agreed that she should do something she wanted to do. So, we got her four tickets for the concert and left them with Alice.

"Where were you thinkin' about going next Carmen? Because I don't think she'll notice since she has that concert. With orders of it being a girls night. Since there will be a surprise waitin' for her when they get back to the hotel." He told me with a wink, and he wrapped his arms around me. Just being in his arms made me smile. Alice told us not to hurry back since Nina would run into someone at the concert who wouldn't harm her. Was this the friend from L.A.? I wouldn't know the only people who met the mysterious friend from L.A. were Victoria, Peter, Charlotte, and Jasper. I was on V.I.L.E. island at the time and this was before Gray. But I for some reason suggested that Nina went on a trip to Australia. I asked her again after I actually met Gray, and he lost his memory. I was glad when she emailed me saying they got along well.

"L.A., I want to meet this friend of Nina's." I told him and he asked me which one. That confused me did she have more than one friend in L.A.? I must have voiced this out loud and Nina must have told him all about her friends who lived in L.A.

"She friended a guy who claims to be an angle, a guy who claims he's the devil, a cop and her daughter, a therapist, a forensic scientist, and a bar tender who claims she is a demon who ya met already on the family vacation. She went zip-linin' with Thorn and I. can't remember her name at the top of my head though sorry." He explained to me, and I groaned. What did my sister get herself into over in L.A.? Seriously befriending law enforcement was she crazy? Did she use an alias or tell them her real name?

"Hey Carmen, your sister wouldn't happen to like classic lit right? Because she introduced herself to me as Nina Stevenson-Wilde." He told me and we laughed. I told him that some of her favourite books just happened to be Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Gray thought I could use a distraction and claimed my lips with his. Needless to say, the kiss was electric.

Jasper's P.O.V.:

I felt bad about wantin' to spend more time with Rose but we both were in fake relationships and wanted to get this one right. So, we weren't going to be back for Nina's birthday. I already told Alice no party. Carmen and I got Niamh four tickets to that concert she wanted to go to that was on her birthday. Carlisle, Esme, Felix, and Julia paid for the hotel room and sent me pictures it was a five-star hotel. Some of the others pooled money together for a limo for Nina, others for a fancy dinner and others for backstage passes. But her friends in L.A. were paying for her to have a spa day with three people. We didn't tell her that yet.

We knew that Nina would say we are doing too much for her, but she needs to relax. So, concert and spa day is a must. I don't expect her to do full-blown makeup, but I know she would do something. But right now, Rose and I were in Montana in Nina's car. A car more expensive than any I seen her drive. I didn't even know this one existed and I doubt Peter did. Don't get me wrong I missed my brother, but he set some strange rules for Nina while I was away. Thinking that because he was the oldest, he should be in charge in my absence. Leavin' Nina to do a lot of the heavy liftin' when they moved up north, he had her shovellin' all the snow alone. I was pissed at that. Rose pulled into our hotel effectively pulling me out of my thoughts.

I got our bags and checked us in. I loved it. The room was like being back home but with a city flare. I remember Rose grew up in the city but was born in raised in the country. Rose wrapped herself on my back. I took her to the bedroom to unpack. She quickly threw some clothes at me and told me to change since we were going out tonight.

I was thankful that I was given a dress shirt, jeans, and cowboy boots. But when Rose came out of the bedroom in a red sweetheart necklace dress, that reached the top of her knees and had a black belt around her waist. I never seen Rose in such a simple thing before, but she looked amazin' amazing exactly how she is. The dress sleeves were short but puffed with lace over it. I knew neither of us were a virgin she's been with Emmett since I met her, and I was Maria's slave until my siblings rescued me. Then I was with Alice when I actually met Rose before the whole debacle with Bella. But we're here now. I grabbed my wallet and hotel keys before we went back to the car. I took the time to take in Rose's sent of lemongrass and citrus with a bit woodsier smell.

She parked the car and I got out to help her. My mama would have whooped Peter's ass for how he was treating Nina. She would have whooped my ass if I forgot my manners. I may be a vampire but I'm a southern gentleman. I helped Rose out of the car and went into the club she picked. To my surprise it was one that played country music. "I thought you could teach me how to line and square dance." Rose said to me, and I smiled.

"I would love to ma'am "I said not even bothering to hide my southern drawl. But Rose smiled when I didn't hide. She asked me why I hid it in the first place. And I explained that it made it easier to blend in up north if I did. She then pointed out that my siblings never really hid their accents so why should I. She was right.

I smiled and taught Rose how to line and square dance we also had a few drinks. Before going back to the hotel. When we got back, we watched some movies and cuddled together on the couch. Rose showed me The Phantom of the Opera and other romantic movies. Better than those damned predictable ones Esme likes to watch around Christmas. My scars didn't scare Rose like they did with Alice and Maria. Bella didn't seem bothered by the scars, but I can't tell you if that was the fake bond or the accepting person she was. Anyway, back to Rose she was curled into me smiling at me. I kissed her forehead, and we spent our week exploring.
