This really should be a disruption of sort because it occurs after Lifeline... or a 'Musing' but... it has a wee bit of sweet smut so... Making Love To You It is.
Yes, my Muse is excitable this week. ;)
Home
He hadn't meant for this to happen but, the moment Harm slid into her there was no doubting he was 'home.'
She was engaged, days away from being married and he was the fool that had let her go and didn't fight to keep her. Mac had come to him to 'talk' about what occurred a week earlier, a stolen kiss shared in the shadows that had clearly left her as confused as he. Oh, he had feelings for her, Harm knew but never did he think that she would shatter his control with a goodbye kiss that turned so passionate he was hard pressed to scoop her into his arms and run away with her.
He wanted her, his mind had spent over a year defining every mistake he made and cultivating images of what should have been: Mac in his shower. Mac in his bed. Mac... Mac... Mac...Sarah, because if they ever moved past their torturous friendship she'd become someone else to him. Sarah, sweet sweet Sarah.
Mac was still in uniform when she arrived, uninvited to his apartment - something she hadn't done since taking that stupid Aussie's ring. That part of their life was gone, the nights spent working over the cases with Harm forcing down the desire for her that he swore he'd never give into. He made that mistake once, so had she - being involved with a coworker was never a good idea. In the military it meant the destruction of careers and even brig time just for falling in love. He wouldn't do that to her, wouldn't wreck their close friendship and so he kept her at arms length until those arms became too tired to hold up. Why they had fallen away the night of her engagement, he had no clue. Perhaps it was the imperceptible reality that he would lose her soon. Completely lose her because despite her promise, Mic would certainly keep her away from him.
"Why did you kiss me like that?" She'd asked without so much a hello as greeting. Mac had banged on his door, barged on in without a care that Renee could have been with him. It startled him so much he'd forgotten to speak and could only stare at the now irate Marine pacing in his loft. "How could you do that to me! You're supposed to be my friend!" She accused and came to stop just in front of him. A wrong move on her part because her flushed skin, her heaving breasts made him irrational.
Yes, irrational because that is the only reason he would let his walls crash to the ground.
Harm grabbed her again, one arm around her waist, the other coming up to the back of her head to hold her still while he plundered the recesses of her mouth. She fought against his hold, tried to get out but as the seconds ticked away and his tongue touched hers, Mac was helpless to stop him - she found she didn't want to. All she wanted was to feel him, all of him as attested by the way her hand yanked at the hem of his shirt seeking the warmth of his skin now overheated with each pull of their lips on one another. Her fingers undid his belt, pulled it free, the sound of the buckle hitting the wooden floors sending a thrill through both of them. She unbuttoned his trousers, lowered them past his hips finding he was ready for her.
This desperate interlude had him backing her into the closed door, pressing her against when his hands slipped under Mac's skirt to find her panties wet. It forced a primal groan from his throat and long fingers parted the silky material, slipping past her folds and into her center. She screamed his name in syllables, gasped when he curled his fingers inside of her and that welcomed ache overwhelmed her senses. With his other hand he popped the buttons of her blouse free, exposing the lacey material that covered her breasts. He didn't say anything out of fear that any word would stop what they had started. And then he was kissing her once again, his lips using a delicate rhythm like the fingers that moved within her but it wasn't enough. It wouldn't be enough.
She hadn't meant for this to happen but, the moment he pushed her panties aside and sank into her there was no doubting she was 'home.'
As fast and furious as their lips had claimed each other, the second his length entered her everything slowed and stopped.
Their breaths were ragged, their eyes clung to each others like a lifeline that would never, ever be separated. He took her to the hilt and then just stood there feeling the warmth of her silky depths wrapped around him, caressing him in such a way that it was dizzying. Seconds ago, he wanted to simply take her, slam his body into hers in a blind effort to claim her and now... damnit... now all he wanted was to love her. To make love to her.
"I can't do this...not this way." He managed to say and then he slipped out of her. The look in her eyes made his heart ache as did the sad expression and Harm knew she believed he didn't want her. He calmed her fears by kissing her slowly, sweetly as his hands began to shed each stich of her clothing leaving Mac exposed to him. He made quick work of his own clothing, locked the door and without warning plucked her into his arms.
He was kissing her while he walked them across the loft. Still kissing her when he set her down on the bed and his body covered hers. He kissed her as Mac's legs parted for him and when he slid into her a bond would seal them forever. "I love you...I love you... I love you." She repeated against his lips while pushing her hips up to meet his. It was slow, so slow their first union, a melding of bodies and souls that she'd never felt with any other man, not even the one whose ring she wore. He moved in and out of her in slow, long thrusts equally as passionate as anything either of them had experienced.
"I'm in love with you, Sarah."
His words brought tears to her eyes and he stopped moving long enough to wipe them with the pad of his thumbs.
...
"Did you mean them?" Hours later they lay in his bed tangled in sheets wordlessly listening to the sounds of the night. He head was on his chest and his fingers toyed with the short locks of her hair. "What you said? Did you mean them."
"Did you?" He countered and felt her shift off of him.
She sighed. "Don't do that...Not after what we shared."
He took her left hand, holding it up to the light. Mic's ring dazzled, that big gaudy thing that only a pompous ass would use to claim a woman. "It doesn't really matter what I say. You're still gonna marry him."
"Not after tonight." She took her hand away from his, slipped the offending object off and placed it in his palm. "Do you know why I agreed to an engagement?"
He shook his head because he hadn't the foggiest. As far as he knew, past a date or two, Mac was never really interested in Mic that way. His proposal came on as a complete shock, he really didn't think the Aussie wanted more out of Mac than a few good romps in bed. "No, I don't. I still don't, honestly."
"I thought you didn't love me."
His heart broke and for the life of him he was dumbstruck. How could she believe that? But then, he held back so much it was imperceptible for her to feel any other way. "And now I feel like a fool for not understanding. You told me to wait and I thought it was a no."
Harm took the ring and dropped it on his nightstand only to grab his academy ring which he slipped on her finger instead. It was ridiculously big on her and definitely gaudy but he would fix that if she gave him time to. "It was definitely not a 'no.'" He kissed her again and rolled them over so that Mac was on her back and he rested between her parted thighs. He sank into her again reveling in that electric feeling that charged between them. "This is going to get messy and I don't mean making love to you."
She smiled and pulled him down so that his lips fused to hers. "We'll figure it out."
