Melissa came down from her panic attack in due course but still wound up in the hospital for exhaustion. She also refused to let Casey out her sight.

In the end, Casey laid with her daughter and just held her close. But she didn't mind.

"What?" Casey asked when she noticed Olivia watching her.

Olivia sighed. "You look like a natural, holding her."

"Thanks." Casey adjusted Melissa's blanket. "I have many years of looking after Abigail and Savannah to thank for that."

Olivia looked at Melissa again. "Sophia made that same face the first time I held her."

Exhausted by the day, Melissa was already down for the count. But she looked so relaxed and at peace that it was hard to believe she'd had a panic attack less than an hour prior. Casey had seen the same look on Sophia's face just that morning before she'd woken up.

"Come on, Liv." Casey told her friend. "We should have that chat now."

"Right." Olivia dug out a notepad and pen from her jacket pocket. "Talk to me about what happened."

Casey gave her an account of what went down at Luna's Café. By the time she was done, Melissa was gently sawing logs. This child was a heavy sleeper.

But Casey spoke again at length. "What happened with Beth Anne, Amanda, and Kim?"

Olivia admitted. "I honestly don't know anything, except that Amanda and Kim have been taken."

"Where is their mother?"

"Here in this hospital. Beth Anne is next on my list of people see."

"Okay. I also want to see her." Casey found herself saying. "Sophia became friends with Beth Anne at the gala."

"I'm sure a visit can be arranged." Olivia said. "Are you alright?"

Casey was now caressing her middle as tried to accommodate her other child. "I can feel the baby moving."

Olivia smiled. "It's a fun feeling, isn't it?"

"Very much so. Mine and Soph's next step is to talk about names for the babies."

"What do you like?" Olivia wanted to know.

Casey thought about it. "I like Henry. I think it means something like 'ruler of the household.' Do you like it?"

"I do. Anything you like yet for a girl?"

"Nothing yet comes to mind."

Olivia patted Casey on the arm. "You hold on to the name Henry, and keep thinking of other ideas, too. Share those names with Sophia when you see her again."

Casey felt a small dash of confidence. "I will."

Suddenly, they heard a new voice. "Cassandra?"

The redhead looked up to see her family standing in the doorway. She broke down cry at once.

Olivia moved away and watched as Violet sat with Casey.

"My dear little bean, you are very safe now. So is Melissa." Violet held her as the others gathered around. "We're going to look after you both."

Casey's father caught up with Olivia at the door when he noticed her trying to make a discreet exit.

"Your squad's top speciality isn't finding missing people, but you've done it before?" he asked.

Olivia nodded. "Many times now."

Senior hugged Olivia. "Good luck."

She returned the hug. "Thank you."

When Olivia finally left the room, she bumped into the last person she'd expected to see that night: ADA Trevor Langan.

He had been a pain in the SVU's ass for over a decade until the squad had chipped in to hire him on Olivia's behalf after she had been framed for murder. Trevor had proved her innocence, and in turn earned the squad's respect. It even turned to friendship after he offered to represent Noah in his adoption case for free.

Now… here was Trevor at the hospital, and in ordinary day clothes.

"Trevor!" Olivia said in surprise. "What are you doing here?"

"I was picking something up," he indicated a white paper bag he was holding. "And on the way in, I saw you. Is everything okay?"

Olivia shook her head. "No, Trevor, it isn't."

"What happened?"

"Amanda's family is in town. She and her sister have gone missing. Their mother was hurt in the process of trying to stop it." Olivia explained. "Have you met my daughter yet? Sophia?"

The man gave a nod. "Yes. Just the other day. We bumped into her at a playground in Central Park. I just knew she had to be your kid. It's like she's your copy or something. Maisie struck up a conversation with her and then introduced me when I joined them. Eloise and Arjan played with Melissa."

While Olivia had never met them, she knew that Trevor was married to a woman by the name of Maisie. The couple even had two kids together. Eloise and Arjan.

"My daughter is also gone, Trevor—taken from a café. Her daughter saw it happen. Casey saw it happen." Olivia exhaled shakily. "They're both upset, and Melissa was brought in here for exhaustion."

"Is there anything I can do?" Trevor finally asked.

"Actually, yes. I don't know if you know, but Sophia and Casey are a couple now. They'll probably get married."

Trevor shook his head. "I didn't know that."

"Just by happenstance, both of them are pregnant at the same time and they're both due in early April. Would you please do me a favor where those two are concerned?"

Trevor nodded. "Anything."

"Would you please draft the paperwork that will help Sophia and Casey have guardianship over each other's kids? They're going to want it after this is over."

"I can totally do that."

Olivia gave her friend a grateful smile. "Thanks, Trevor. When's the earliest you can have it done?"

"Tomorrow morning, if I go work on it now. Are you going to be at the office tomorrow?"

"I will be." Olivia said. "Just drop me a line."

"Gotcha. See you then."

Trevor gave Olivia's arm a gentle squeeze and then took his leave.

Olivia's next project was tracking down Beth Anne Rollins. But this wasn't too difficult.

A nurse directed her in the right direction, but Olivia heard the matriarch before she saw her in person.

"HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST THAT! GET OUT AND SEND IN A BETTER DOCTOR!"

Olivia then heard a distinct thud as an object hit the wall in Beth Anne's room. Then a nurse could be seen scurrying out.

All the commotion soon attracted the attention of Olivia's friend. Doctor Larom.

Olivia caught her by the arm. "Jane, wait. I'll go in. I can calm her down."

The doctor took herself out of Olivia's grip and turned to her. "Lieutenant, I heard you and ADA Novak were here because Sophia has gone missing—I oversee pediatrics, too. Word travels fast around here."

She'd added this last part when Olivia raised her eyebrows questioningly before pointing towards Beth Anne's room.

"How do you know my patient?"

Olivia made no hesitation to explain. "That's Beth Anne Rollins. She is Detective Rollins' mother."

"Oh, boy." Larom stuck her hands in her lab coat pockets. "I treated her when she came in. Mark me down as that 'better doctor' that she wants."

The woman was practically speaking in code. Olivia saw it at once.

"What do you know?" she asked Larom.

"Something that the Rollinses should tell you." Larom gave Olivia a nudge towards Beth Anne's room. "Go talk to Beth Anne. Send for me when you're done."

"I understand."

Olivia approached Beth Anne's room.

The woman was in bed, wearing a hospital gown. She had even been tagged with a cheap identification bracelet. Not to be missed were the different machines that she was hooked up to. Including an external oxygen supply. One arm was even in a sling.

Benoît could be seen cleaning up a puddle of water on the floor. Beside him was a pitcher. Now Olivia understood what had made the thudding sound.

She cleared her throat. Both of the Rollinses looked up.

"Lieutenant." Beth Anne said in surprise. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be looking for Amanda and Kim?"

"I think, Beth Anne, that after all this time, you can just call me Olivia. May I come in?"

She nodded.

Benoît, finished cleaning up his wife's mess, indicated the comfortable-looking chair beside the bed. "You can have my seat."

Olivia took it and began speaking to Beth Anne. "The rest of my squad is already back at the precinct, working on a rescue mission. Right now I need to hear from you what happened. And I want to know what prompted you throw a water jug at that poor nurse."

Beth Anne looked to her husband.

He gave her a nod. "It's your body, treasure. Olivia is family."

Beth Anne looked back Olivia. "I wouldn't have known for awhile if that godforsaken girl hadn't hurt me, but... uh... it turns out that miracles can still happen when they're some decades overdue."

Olivia arched an eyebrow. "Just what are you saying?"

"I'm pregnant with triplets."

This gave Olivia quite a turn. "Oh, my goodness, Beth Anne. How are you?"

"I don't know. We're shocked. Still trying to digest this news." Beth Anne said honestly. "We are going to keep the babies."

Benoît nodded with affirmation. "We do know what much."

"Please allow me to offer my congratulation." Olivia spoke very kindly. "Might I just ask what happened to send the nurse out?"

Beth Anne sighed. "We were quiet just a little bit too long. The nurse told use that we shouldn't get too attached. She even suggested abortion because we're older parents."

Olivia wrinkled her nose. "Yikes."

"We don't believe in abortion," Beth Anne almost pouted. "But who says that?"

"Someone with no tact." Benoît told his wife as he sat by her feet. "We're going to keep the kids, raise them, and tell the girls about them. Right?"

Beth Anne's response was with confidence. "Right."

Olivia took the conversation back. "What happened when Amanda and Kim were taken? Where were you?"

"We were at the Chelsea Market because I wanted to see it." Beth Anne said. "Kim tagged along, last minute."

"Benoît wasn't there?" Olivia implored.

He shook his head. "No. We're staying at The Plaza until everything is completely sorted with Beth's ex. Today I spent my day at the publishing house, overseeing operations."

"Good to know." Olivia made a few notes and asked a new question. "Where is Jesse?"

"Hanging out with Blue and the kids. They also have the dog because Dominick is at work." Beth Anne explained. "We were looking at a shop near the exits, and then this young lady appears out of nowhere. She must've been following us because she was only interested in Amanda."

Olivia felt a sense of dread. "What did she do?"

"I told her to leave because she was a stranger and because of Amanda's current conditions, but... my firstborn did recognize her."

"Is that so. Just what name did Amanda call her by? Reagan, or Karissa Lee?"

Beth Anne thought about it. "Her name is Reagan. Is she a suspect?"

"One of two. Please tell me what happened next."

Beth Anne thought about it again. "She had a gun. Then she pointed it at Amanda because she wanted her to go with her..."

"But…?" Olivia prompted.

For the umpteenth time, Beth Anne sighed. "Kim put herself between Amanda and Reagan. She offered to go in her sister's place instead."

Olivia had an epiphany. "Reagan wouldn't have it, huh?"

"Bingo. Kim tried to save Amadna, but I guess Reagan ended up taking them both."

"Didn't you see?" Olivia said in surprise.

"No. Everything went down so fast. Reagan struck me, and when I was back with it, the paramedics were there. I was brought here afterward."

Olivia turned to Benoît. "When did you get here?"

He checked his watch. "Twenty minutes ago. Blue is in the know. She'll be here with Jesse soon."

"Excellent." Olivia approved. "I know how important family is to you all."

She turned to Beth Anne again.

"How long do you have to be here?"

The woman shrugged. "I don't know, but not overnight."

Olivia just nodded vaguely—it had suddenly occurred to her that night had long since fallen, and that she had no idea where Sophia was.

Beth Anne could see her hesitation. With some effort, she sat up straighter, touching a hand to Olivia's hand.

"What is it? Even before Sophia fell out of the sky, we've always been connected because of our love for Amanda. That's what's made us family."

Olivia spoke haltingly. "Sophia is also gone."

Beth Anne was immediately more stricken than she already was. "Excuse me? What the hell happened?"

"She was abducted while out to dinner with her family. Poor Melissa is the only one who saw anything."

"Where are she and Casey?" Beth Anne asked in total seriousness. "I need to see them."

"They're here. Melissa was admitted for a serious panic attack. Now's just sleeping it off, but she wouldn't mind a visit from you when she wakes up."

Beth Anne's fear turned to wry amusement. "No?"

"Melissa knows that Sophia and Amanda are sisters now. She even asked for your girl. Finding out that her auntie is also gone did her no favors." Olivia said. "I think a visit from her auntie's mama would cure some of her blues."

"Is Melissa in the children's wing?"

Olivia nodded. "Yes. I'm sure you can see her once the doctor presents you with an all-clear."

Beth Anne leaned back in her bed, taking on a pouty expression. Olivia had seen this very look on Amanda's face many times.

"As long as it isn't the nurse from before." the older woman grumbled.

Olivia chuckled as she rose to her feet. "Nope. It's going to be the doctor who treated you when you came in."

"I like her. She was nice."

"Doctor Larom is a friend of mine, and I've know her for eighteen years now. You're in good hands with her." Olivia said reassuringly. "Take care of yourself, Beth Anne. Same for your precious babies."

Beth Anne rested her hands over her middle, where her children were growing.

"I will. Thanks again." she looked at Olivia sincerely, with the same steely blue-eye gaze that Amanda had. "You will find the rest of our babies? Right?"

Olivia spoke at her most sincere yet. "I will."

Beth Anne gave one last nod before turning over. She was tired. Olivia took her cue to leave, bidding Benoît farewell and pressing the 'CALL DOCTOR' button on the wall as she exited the room.

It wasn't until Olivia was in her car again that the tears began.

She'd always felt like the weight of the world was on her shoulders ever since she'd taken command of the squad, but today... she was really feeling it.

But then she called a very familiar number.

"Liv, how are you?" came Alex's voice on the other end.

"I'm a wreck, Allie-cat! Am I a good mom?"

Alex was taken aback but didn't break. "Olivia, you are a wonderful mother. You found Noah and rehabilitated him. Now he thinks the world of you and calls you mama. The baby in my belly moves and jumps whenever you're around. Whoever is in there knows your voice already. And Sophia—she didn't have the best life growing up, but now you're showing her all the love she never got. She's really happy."

Olivia sniffled at this last part. "Are you sure?"

"One hundred percent. She told me so." Alex confirmed. "Sophia is really happy, and she loves you very much."

Olivia wiped her tears and steadied her breath. "Thanks, baby. I really needed that."

"It was my pleasure. Where are you, my love?"

Olivia straightened herself out. "Just leaving the hospital and heading back to the precinct."

"One of the uniforms at the diner dropped me off back here. My current job is to keep Dominick from going AWOL. Fin is helping out."

"Good, good. Have you been in touch with the nanny lately?"

"Mhm. She sent me a picture of Noah, and he's fast asleep."

"Good." Olivia said again. "I'll be along soon. I love you."

"I love you, too."

Olivia hung up first.

And took just a few more moments before getting ready to drive back to the precinct.
