AN: This chapter gets a M rate because of some words... just to be sure. EDITED
When Sirius came back home that day, the first thing he did was to follow the enticing smell coming from the kitchen.
"How was your day?" He asked innocently as he tried to take a peek at the inside of the pot.
"It was good. There is a new teacher at school; he's the Principal's son."
Sirius stared quizzically, "I didn't know he had a son."
"Really? I thought you might know," Haru looked at him in surprise. "Mom was friends with Principal Kane, isn't it?"
"Yes, but I didn't knew him personally. I wasn't around much at the time. I think they stopped being in contact months before their deaths." He explained. "And what do you think? How is he?"
"He seems nice, I think." Haru spoke quietly as he returned his gaze towards the cooking pot, without looking at him.
"You think?" Sirius pushed.
Sighing, he stirred the contents a little more before he lowered the heat, looking at him. "Well, I don't know. Luna didn't seem to like him very much and… I get a weird vibe off of him?"
Sirius stared at him, curiously. "Weird as in… just weird?"
"I… I think he was watching me in class." Haru scrunched his face, thinking. "I'm pretty sure it was nothing but… it was strange. Unnerving." He nodded at the word.
"I think I'll go tomorrow to have a talk with him." He said, determined.
"Sirius, don't do anything rash."
"I won't. I will just go and have a nice and long chat with the Principal."
"I'd rather you not." Haru resigned.
*The next day*
After the school bell, Haru was just trying to head home when two of his usual bullies blocked his path.
"Hey, fag! Going to see your boyfriend?"
"Why do you always try to bother us?" Luna tried to intercede. "The school policy doesn't tolerate this kind of behavior."
"Who talked to you, junkie? Seriously! What do you use? Fairy dust?" He sneered.
Seeing her flinch, Haru quietly took her hand to comfort her before he whispered, "Luna, don't listen to them. Let's just go."
"So it speaks! I thought that with all the cocksucking you do you forgot how to talk." He leered before menacingly approaching them.
"Luna, I think you must go find a teacher." He ordered quietly. It looked like it was going to end badly.
Tadashi was waiting on the entrance of Haru's school, some of the students were already leaving but his boyfriend was nowhere to be seen. 'He is taking too long; he should be there by now.'
He started to worry when he saw the commotion of a group of students huddled outside the gates of the Songbird Institute.
With a bad feeling on his gut, he slowly approached.
With his face down at water level, Haru struggled against the weight holding him down. The bully had managed to drag him out of his wheelchair and threw him towards the school fountain, proceeding to try to drown him.
"Dude, stop! That's enough, you will get us in trouble!"
The bully jeered at him and didn't release his hold on the back of his head, pressing him harder against the hard stone ignoring Haru's struggles trying to elbow him and kick him off his back.
Finally reaching to the school grounds, Tadashi immediately pushed his way through the crowd rushing towards them and grabbed onto the jacket of the boy dragging him off his boyfriend throwing him away.
Haru, slowly and quivering, incorporated using his palms as leverage as he coughed out the water. Reaching to help him, Tadashi got inside the fountain not caring for the water seeping through his clothes and grabbed his shoulders to help him sit. "Are you hurt?" He asked, checking his still heaving boyfriend for injuries.
"I- I don't know," gulping for air, he trembled with glazed eyes.
"I'm going to kill him."
"Don't," Haru muttered, grabbing his arm as tightly as he could with trembling fingers, "why are you here? Not that I'm not grateful for it."
"I wanted to pick you from school but you weren't in the entrance, it was getting late and I was worried."
The bully who previously tried to drown his boyfriend laughed. "So this is the lover boy?"
Sitting on the bottom of the fountain, completely drenched from head to toe, Haru glowered at him.
Pissed, Tadashi rushed up to him and grabbed the front of his shirt. "What is your problem!? You could've killed him!"
"Tadashi! Stop!" Haru yelled.
Noticing his distress, he let go of him with a shove, heading back to Haru.
The bully scoffed, fixing his shirt nonchalantly. "Seriously, be a man, is he really going to stop you? He must be a good lay, making you do whatever he asks. But what'd you expect from those cocksucker lips of his?"
Tadashi clenched his fist and quickly turned around, punching him hard in the face. His fist met his face in a sick scrunch, making the bully fall on his ass, holding his nose with a cry.
"Hey! Stop it you two! I want to see you all in the Principal's office right now." Having seen enough, Alan commanded with Luna standing at his side.
Glancing towards him, Tadashi stared for a second before turning towards Haru, he carefully lifted him bridal style and Haru curled against him with a shiver. "Let's take you to the infirmary to clean up." He spoke, concerned at how cold he was.
Approaching Alan, he regarded him with a nod before walking past him.
Sitting in one of the beds of the infirmary, Tadashi waited patiently as the nurse, a gentle looking woman, was tending his bruised knuckles.
Haru was on the other section changing, after the nurse gave him some spare clothes he could use, as his were completely drenched on the fountain incident.
After a moment, the sliding curtain that separated the beds shifted and Haru came out, toweling his hair and quietly took a seat next to him.
"Hold this against your knuckles for a few minutes," the nurse ordered, "it will stop the swelling."
Tadashi complied, grimacing at the cold.
"Teenage boys, I thought that in this school there wouldn't be that much trouble, maybe only the occasional cold." The nurse sighed. "What was the fight about?"
"They had been bothering Luna and I for a while. But they started getting worse recently." Haru quietly replied.
"Why'd you never told me?" Tadashi asked with concern.
"It didn't really mattered at the time." Haru interceded. "There were just words and they occasionally pushed me off my chair…" He trailed off, avoiding Tadashi's gaze. "But this was the first time they got physical."
"Is it because you are with me?"
"Homophobes, then?" She looked at him incredulously and shook her head. "I thought I wouldn't see these kinds of things in this time of age. We have high technology but people still act like Neanderthals." She sighed gathering her things. "Alright, boys, I will let you alone for a few minutes. Just hold the ice pack against your hand. I have to tend another patient with a broken nose." She announced as she left.
Haru gaped before he exclaimed in surprise, "You actually broke his nose?!" he said turning towards his boyfriend who remained silent, innocently avoiding his gaze but he could see a proud glint in his eyes.
"Unbelievable." He stated and hid his smile with the towel.
He left the towel resting on his neck and approached him. "Does it hurt?" Haru asked as he pressed the ice wrapped in a towel on his hand.
"No." Tadashi started and hissed at the cold.
"Liar." Haru snorted and smiled slightly, he lifted the towel and saw the bruised knuckles, lifting his hand to his lips, and he blew lightly on his knuckles. "Thank you." He whispered lightly pressing a kiss to the bruise.
Carding a hand through his boyfriend's hair, Tadashi paused when Haru flinched. "Did they hurt you?" He questioned, lightly touching the area.
"He pulled my hair when he dragged me out of the wheelchair." Haru murmured, laying his forehead against his boyfriend's shoulder.
"I should have been there earlier." Tightly but not less gentle, Tadashi hugged him. "This wasn't your fault." Haru murmured pressing a kiss on his neck.
They held each other for a moment until Alan Kane entered the infirmary clearing his throat, making them pull apart.
"This isn't the first time you were harassed, isn't it?" Kane asked.
"They had been targeting me and my friend, Luna, but they never got to the point of getting physical, they only said some stuff and the casual childish pranks." He said, carefully scrubbing his hair with a towel.
"I'm going to make sure that they get suspended for this and probably on jail. Violence is not tolerated in this school and what he did was an attack to your person. I'm going to see how the Principal is dealing with this." He gave them a look. "It will only be a minute. We already called your tutor and informed him of the happenings."
"Thank you, sir." Haru thanked him receiving a nod in response before he left. "I just want this to be over." He sighed, toweling his hair furiously letting out a wince when he rubbed at the tender zone on his scalp.
"Let me." Tadashi requested, taking the towel from him, proceeding to continue. Scrubbing Haru's hair he noticed him shivering. "Are you cold?"
Nodding, Haru rubbed his arms trying to warm up. "A little, but it was worse before."
"Here." Tadashi spoke, taking his blazer off and placing it on his shoulders.
Haru protested. "I can't-"
"Of course you can. You are freezing; you are going to get sick." He insisted. "Better?"
He nodded and smiled gratefully. "Yes."
Sirius appeared running towards him. "Haru! What happened?!" He yelled and quickly enveloped him in his arms.
"Sirius! I'm okay! See?" Haru exclaimed, trying to reassure him. "It was nothing."
"Don't say that," Tadashi pressed, "they could've-"
"But that didn't happen!" Haru exclaimed staring at him, trying to forget the incident.
"Haru, you have to tell Sirius," his boyfriend urged, "you can't keep this quiet."
"What happened exactly?"
"A guy pushed me to the water fountain and held my head under water."
"I will have a chat with the Principal." Sirius hotly stated, ready to sue the school.
"S-Sirius, hold on a sec-"
"You can't ask me to not do anything about it, Haru. You were in danger. In a school." Sirius argued.
When Haru didn't know what to tell him, Tadashi quickly interceded. "I think I should also go see the Principal. I'm certain that I'm in trouble."
"Why is that?"
"He broke the guy's nose." Haru said quietly.
Sirius stared surprised for a second before a grin broke on his face. "And for that you completely earned my respect."
"Sir?"
"Please, just call me Sirius. I already told you." He smiled. "For standing up for my son, you have my approval."
Haru stared at him disbelievingly and protested. "I'm not some damsel in distress!"
"One could think otherwise, no offense." Sirius stated.
"Hey!"
Sirius ignored him and glanced at Tadashi's astonished face and gravely said. "Take care of him, please."
Tadashi nodded quietly, confused at the sudden change.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to talk with the Principal." And then he left.
"Did he just-?" Tadashi started, staring at him.
Haru just nodded, covering his blushing face with the towel.
"Alright…"
AN: Is it bad that I enjoyed Tadashi breaking that guy's nose? :P
