One Hundred and Fifty One Shot:

Mile High Club

Clary POV:

"Flight 496 to Paris France, now boarding." I heard from my spot on the plane. Being a flight attendant was something I knew I wanted to do since I fist got into an airplane at 6 years old. My parents thought I needed a real career, but this was my dream, and I followed it. I fixed my skirt and made my way to the first class area.

"I can't wait to catch my connecting flight from Paris to Tokyo." Aline said once I reached her. "I can finally take a nice little vacation with my family."

"That's awesome. My connecting flight is to Russia. No family there." I said and she laughed.

"I took off a week in June to go to the beach, and I don't think I've ever been more excited to spend so much time on the ground." Aline said, and we both laughed.

"I love being in the air." I said. "It's so freeing."

"But don't you miss your family, and your fiancé?" She asked and I thought about my brother and Jace.

"Of course I do, but they know this is what I've always wanted to do. My parents could careless about my career after I didn't become a lawyer like the rest of them." I admitted.

"Being a lawyer sounds so boring." She said and I laughed.

"That's my family, a bunch of lawyers." I said.

"And you're fiancé." She pointed out and I nodded. My parents were thrilled that I was marrying a lawyer, at least they were proud about something I was doing.

"I won't be a flight attendant forever. Once Jace and I get married, and we start a family I might just become a stay at home mom. But for now, I'm following my dreams, and Jace is all for that. Especially because he's a lawyer for a bunch of high profile people and he travels a lot." I said and she nodded.

"You ever going to show me a picture of this guy?" She asked and I smirked. I liked to keep my personal life away from my job. Especially because I knew how women acted around him.

"Maybe if I invite you to the wedding." I play pushed her as the passengers started making their way onto the plane. I couldn't get the smile off my face. I loved my job, and I was proud to be a flight attendant.

Time Jump – Four Hours Into Flight

Clary POV:

The plane ride was going really smoothly, and we would be arriving in Paris in about an hour. It took me so long to get used to the constant jet lag, but I knew that once I got back from Russia I had at least 3 days off before my next flight, and that was nice. I was walking up and down the aisle seeing if anyone needed anything when someone grabbed my arm. I looked back and the man had a smug smirk on his face.

"May I help you?" I asked in my politest voice.

"You sure can sweet cheeks." He said and that repulsed me. "Why don't you and I sneak away for a little action?" He asked and I really wanted to slap him, but I valued my job.

"Unfortunately, that's against protocol. For both my job, and my upcoming marriage." I said as I flashed him my ring. Jace insisted I have the biggest rock imaginable, but it helped in times like these. When most guys saw how big the ring was, they knew it was real.

"Come on baby, what happens in the air, stays in the air." He winked.

"I have no interest in joining the mile high club with you." I said as I walked away. I walked to the back of the plane and scoffed at the conversation we just had.

"What's wrong?" Aline asked.

"That guy in row F just hit on me and asked if we could join the mile high club." I said.

"Scumbag." She said.

"I know, I even told him I was engaged but that didn't even seem to phase him." I said.

"Some guys are just pigs. Thank god I'm a lesbian." She said and I laughed. "Plus, the mile high club isn't all it's cracked up to me."

"I wouldn't know." I said honestly.

"You mean, you've never had sex on a plane? You're a flight attendant. It's like initiation for us." She said and I laughed.

"Who would I have sex with on a plane?' I asked.

"Your fiancé?" She questioned.

"I don't know if you've noticed, but I fly international, he doesn't." I pointed out. "We are never on the same flight."

"Like ever?" She asked and I shook my head. "Not even traveling?" She asked.

"We've both lived in New York our entire lives. It was one reason I found being a flight attended so fascinating. I only left New York once and that was for my grandfather's funeral when I was a kid, but I was hooked." I explained.

"Damn girl. You're missing out." She said.

"You just said it wasn't all it's cracked up to be." I said and she laughed.

"The first time is great. It's new and kinky and thrilling. After that it gets kinda lame, but the first time is amazing." She said.

"I'll take your word for it." I said and she laughed.

"Attention passengers, we are about to begin our decent, please put your treys up and put your seats in the upright position. Please buckle your seatbelts, thank you for flying Alicante Airways." The pilot said. Aline and I went around and politely asked for everyone to follow directions and than made our way back to our seats to begin the decent. I took a deep breath knowing that I was about to get on another plane right after this one landed, but all I really wanted was some sleep, and I couldn't wait to crash the minute I got to the hotel in Russia.

After the plane landed, and all the passengers got off, Aline and I made our way to our other terminals. Halfway there I took my phone out and noticed I had a message from Jace. I called my voicemail and started listening.

"Hey babe, I was just called to Detroit for a case and I don't know if I'll be home for the rest of the week. I know you're probably still in the air right now, but I just wanted you to have a fair warning before you came home. Hope you have a safe flight, and I can't wait to see you once I get back. Love you Clare." Jace said and I smiled to myself. I pulled up his messages and sent him a simple text.

To Jace:

Just landed in Paris but I'm about to hop on the flight to Russia. I'll text you when I land and when my plane leaves to come home. Good luck and kick ass on the case. Love you too babe.

I put my phone back in my pocket as I made my way onto the next plane. Connecting flights that had very little time between them were the worst, but I had to do what I had to do. The plane started loading the passengers and before I knew it we were off to Russia. I couldn't wait to crash in my bed when I finally got to the hotel.

Jace POV:

Alec and I got to the airport early in the morning to head over to Detroit to work on this case. I loved my job. I loved being a lawyer and helping people out of situations, but working with high profile people requires a lot of traveling, and I didn't mind it in the beginning, but after Clary and I started dating, with her career being a constant traveller and mine requiring a lot of traveling, it became less appealing to go all over the country to work.

Clary and I almost broke up a couple times because of it, actually taking a break once due to our conflicting schedules but we were miserable without each other. We would rather be together and deal with the constant separation than go without each other, and although it does still suck, the time we do spend together, is always amazing.

Alec and I boarded the plane and we took off. I was currently reading over all the paperwork to get myself ready for our client while Alec was staring at his phone like he has been the past 2 months.

"Alec, why don't you request to be transferred to another branch in the firm? You are literally miserable every time we have to travel." I pointed out and he looked at me.

"I love what I do." He said.

"But you have a kid now. And I know you want to spend every waking minute with him and Magnus." I said and he sighed.

"What else would I do?" He asked.

"You could work with Meliorn." I suggested and he scoffed.

"The last thing I would do is work with that prick. Especially after everything he did to Izzy." He said and I nodded. "Plus, I never want to be a divorce lawyer."

"Who honestly does?" I said and he laughed. "How about custody?" I offered.

"I don't know if I could do that either. Splitting families up all day long. I'd be even more miserable." He said and I laughed.

"Immigration?" I suggested.

"I like being a criminal lawyer." He said.

"Than be a criminal lawyer, for less high profile people." I said.

"But we're so good together." He pointed out and I smiled and nodded in agreement.

"That we are, but I can't be selfish. You have a family now." I said and he looked at me.

"What are you going to do once Clary and you get married?" He asked.

"I don't know yet." I said honestly. "We already talked about how after we get married we want to start a family pretty soon." I admitted. "When that happens, she'll take time off from being a flight attendant, and I'll probably ask if I can stay in state for a little while and than we'll figure it out from there."

"I don't know how you two do it man. I hate being away from Magnus for a couple days. She's always gone." He said.

"It's hard. I mean, you know the amount of fights we've gotten into, plus the brief break we took. But it's worth it. I love her more than anything." I said and he nodded.

"So a family?" He asked and I nodded. "Why so soon?" He asked.

"About a year ago we talked about having kids. It's something we both want, so we talked to a doctor about it, and Clary isn't old, but we wanted to know how long it could potentially take us to get pregnant. Turns out, Clary's fallopian tubes are damaged, and getting pregnant on our own would be very hard, so we talked about it extensively and decided to do IVF." I explained. "It takes some time, so we want to start sooner rather than later."

"Damn. That's crazy." Alec said.

"It was a huge upset for us, but we can still have a family, and that's what matters to us." I said and he nodded. "And we're going to increase our odds even further by using more than one embryo." I further explained.

"Why?" He asked curiously.

"There is a possibility the embryo won't stick at all, so we want to increase those odds of it working, and that might result in more than one baby." I explained. Clary and I have been meeting with a doctor as much as we can when we're both home to learn everything we can about the process.

"So how many eggs?" Alec asked.

"2." I said and he nodded.

"I can't picture you as a father, but I'm happy for you two. It's an amazing experience." He said and I smiled.

"I'm terrified, but ready. I'm 30, and Clary is 29. We're ready to have our own family, and as terrifying as it is, it's also really cool to think about." I said and he smiled.

"Attention passengers, we are going to begin our decent momentarily. Please position your chairs back in the upright position, and lift up your treys. Thank you for choosing to fly with us." The pilot said. Alec and I did as told, and I looked out the window. Thinking about my future with Clary was both exciting and terrifying, but there is no one else on this earth that I would rather experience it with, and I couldn't wait to start the process.

Clary POV:

We finally landed in Moscow, and I was exhausted. I grabbed my stuff and made my way to the shuttle that was taking me to the airport nearby. The car ride nearly lulled me to sleep, but the minute I saw the hotel sign, I was awake and ready to get off and finally get into a bed.

Once I made it to my room, I kicked off my shoes, stripped down into my pajamas and got into the warm bed. I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. It was currently 2 am here, which meant that in Detroit it was 7 pm, so I was going to call Jace, and check in before I finally got to bed. It only took one ring before he answered.

"Hey babe, what's up?" Jace answered.

"Just got to my hotel and wanted to check in before I crash." I said and he laughed.

"What time is it there?" He asked.

"2 in the morning." I said.

"Jeez babe, get some sleep." He said.

"I will, I just wanted to hear your voice." I admitted and I could hear him smile.

"What time is your flight tomorrow?" He asked.

"Departure time is 1:55." I told him. "I'll be landing in New York at midnight."

"Okay babe, well get some sleep, and I'll call you in two days. I love you." He said and I smiled to myself.

"I love you too Jace." I said and we hung up. It didn't take long for the sleep to consume me, but like always I was wishing I had Jace by my side.

Jace POV:

Once I hung up the phone with Clary I tried to go straight back to work, but everyone but Alec was just looking at me. It was normally an unwritten rule that you don't answer your phone will in the conference room, but I always broke it when it came to Clary.

"What?" I finally asked.

"You just answered the phone." The one guy said.

"Yes I did. Can we move on?" I asked.

"She couldn't have waited until you left?" Another guy asked.

"She's in Russia right now. By the time we leave, it'll be like 7 am there." I said.

"So?" Another guy asked.

"Look, my fiancé is a flight attendant. She travels a lot, and so do I. We don't see each other a lot, so when she calls, I answer. It's always been like that, and it always will be. Now, we should get back to the case." I said a little irritably. They all nodded and got back to the case. I couldn't wait to get back home and be with Clary.

Time Jump – One Week Later

Clary POV:

I've been loving this break I was getting. I had a rather long next couple of days, but just having this week without having to be somewhere was extra nice. I've been relaxing, which was something that I didn't know I needed so badly until I could sleep in as late as I wanted and sleep in my bed for more than a couple nights.

I was sleeping peacefully when light woke me up. I didn't think it was morning yet, since it felt like I just fell asleep, so I opened my eyes to see what was going on, and that's when I saw his silhouette standing in the archway of our bedroom.

"Jace?" I asked.

"Did I wake you? I tried to be quiet." He said and I sat up.

"You were quiet, it's the light that got me." I said and he laughed.

"I should have turned the hall light off before I opened the door." He said and I smiled.

"I thought your plane landed tomorrow." I said and he put his stuff down.

"I took a redeye. I wanted to see you before you took to the skies again." He said and I laughed.

"How did the case go?" I asked as he made his way over to the bed.

"He ended up pleading guilty." He said and I nodded. He took my face into his hands before pressing his lips to mine. "I missed you."

"I missed you too." I said.

"When is your next flight?" He asked.

"Two days." I said. "Straight through to Norway, but I catch a connecting flight from Norway to England, than England to New York." I explained.

"I can't wait until you get more time off." He said and I laughed.

"One more month." I said and he smiled widely.

"Can you believe we are getting married in a month?" He asked.

"It seems like yesterday you proposed." I said.

"These 2 years went by quickly." He said and I nodded. "I'm going to get a quick shower, you go back to sleep. I'll be in bed soon."

"Okay, love you." I said and he pressed his lips to my forehead.

"I love you too Clary." He said before going into the bathroom. Next month I would be known as Clary Herondale, and there was nothing more exciting than finally being able to call myself his wife.

Time Jump – Two Weeks Later

Jace POV:

Clary was currently in Denmark, but I had a surprise waiting for her. I had contacted her boss and asked what flight she would be on from Austria to New York, and I got a flight out and was coming home on her flight.

In all the years Clary and I have been together, we never ended up on the same plane. She did mainly international flights, and I worked within the United States boarder, so we never crossed paths, and our jobs were so demanding that we never actually took a vacation that required a plane before, just in case we needed to be somewhere.

This time was different. She's been gone for nearly two weeks, and it's the longest we've been apart. She was home once for a night, but I was out of town and we didn't get to see each other. I was free, and I missed her, so I was going to surprise her. I ended up having to spend a night in Austria, but I didn't mind. It was a beautiful place, and I was slightly jealous Clary got to travel to all these places, even if she didn't get to explore, she still got to experience it.

When I got on the plane, I was nervous. I got a first class seat, cause why not. If you're going to fly, you might as well fly in style. I caught a glimpse of red hair, but she wasn't really traveling up to the first class area, so I figured I would have to request her. The flight attendant that was working the first class area was rather flirtatious, and it made me wish I chose coach. I clicked my button and she came over to me immediately.

"What can I get for you?" She asked right away.

"The flight attendant with red hair, could you direct her to me please." I asked.

"I'm sorry sir, but she works in coach, not first class." She said, jealousy evident in her voice.

"I'm aware, but we're old friends." I said in the politest way.

"Of course sir." She finally said and walked away. I couldn't wait to see her reaction.

"Can I help you?" I heard her ask.

"You can." I said and she looked at me, shock written all over her face. "You see, I came on the flight to surprise my fiancé….." I didn't get a chance to finish before she threw her arms around me.

"What are you doing here?" She asked and I laughed.

"I missed you. A lot. This is the longest we've ever been a part, and I couldn't take it any longer." I admitted and she smiled before standing back up and fixing her uniform.

"Well, welcome to Alicante Airways, what can I help you with?" She asked in her flight attendant voice, and I couldn't help but smirk. I had asked her before to put on her uniform in the bedroom, but she was super against it, but now we are in the proper setting, and it was turning me on.

"Like I said, I came here to surprise my fiancé." I said.

"She's a very lucky woman." Clary said with a smirk on her face.

"I'm the lucky one. I just wish there was a place on this plane where we could be alone. I've missed her very very much." I said and I saw the lust fill Clary's eyes.

"I think there is something I can do." She said in a suggestive tone.

"You'd do that for me and my fiancé?" I asked and she leaned in closer.

"Absolutely." She said and it took everything in me not to pull her into my lap and kiss her. "Just give me a few moments." She said before walking away. A minute later she was back, in my little cubicle and she closed the door. A very good perk of first class. "Hi." She said once everything was closed.

"Hey." I said and than she slammed her lips to mine. I felt like I was kissing her for the first time in years and I couldn't get enough of it. When we broke apart, I felt cold.

"I only have a few minutes, but I needed that." Clary said and I couldn't help but smile.

"I missed you." I said and she smiled.

"I missed you too." Clary said. "I can't believe you're here."

"I had some time off, and you've been all over the place lately, it seemed like the logical option." I explained.

"But this is my last week working before the wedding, than we'll both be home, and than on our honeymoon." Clary beamed and I couldn't help but smile with her.

"I can't wait to spend alone time with you on a beach with no deadline on who gets called away first." I said and she nodded in agreement. There was a short knock on the door and Clary sighed.

"That's my cue." She said and I nodded. I pressed my lips to hers once more. "I love you."

"I love you too." I said and she stood up.

"See you when we land?" She asked.

"Of course." I said and she slipped out and made her way back towards her place on the plane. I couldn't get the smile off my face for the rest of the flight.

Time Jump – Wedding

Clary POV:

Mrs. Herondale. That's who I was now. I couldn't believe it. The ceremony was a blur and when the priest finally announced us as husband and wife, I couldn't even believe my ears. The day I was waiting for was finally here, and I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with Jace.

I was currently packing for our honeymoon, and you would think being a flight attendant would make me an excellent packer, but I needed so much more for our honeymoon, and it was stressing me out. Thankfully Izzy packed my suitcase of sexual garments. I was freaked out about that, but when Izzy said she would take care of it, a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders.

"Clary we're going to be late!" Jace yelled from downstairs. I zipped my suitcase up, knowing that if I forgot something I could always buy it, and ran downstairs.

"I don't think that applies when talking about a private jet." I said and he laughed.

"I just want to get there, and finally have some alone time." Jace said and I laughed.

"We have had plenty alone time in the past week." I reminded him.

"But not in our own private bungalow, with the sun, the sand, and the ocean all to ourselves." Jace said and I could have melted then and there.

"Did I tell you how excited I am to be going to Fiji for our honeymoon?" I said and Jace laughed.

"Only every single time someone asks about it." Jace said and I laughed.

"Well I can't help it. I'm excited." I said and he kissed my temple.

"Let's get going. Just because it's a private jet, doesn't meant it doesn't have certain air time it has to follow." Jace said and I nodded.

We made it to the airport, went through security, and were boarded onto our plane. We don't use his private jet often, but we thought our honeymoon was a perfect exception. Only us, exactly how we planned on spending the next 2 and a half weeks.

When the plane finally took off, the flight attendant gave us two glasses of champagne. It wasn't often that I was the one waited on in an airplane, and I had to say that it was a nice feeling.

"To us, and the rest of our lives." Jace said and I couldn't' help but smile.

"To us." I said and we clicked glasses. I downed my whole glass, and Jace laughed. He leaned over and pressed his lips to mine and one thing lead to another, and I could totally see why people were apart of the Mile High Club.

Authors Note:

I had this idea in my head for probably two years, wrote half of it, forgot about it, found it about 6 months ago, and finally decided to finish it. Yay me!

Sorry I'm taking forever! I got a new job, and it's sucking me dry. So I have some more in the works, some from me, some from you, and I'm trying my best to get these last 50 out to you before the year is over! It sounds like it's plausible, but knowing me, on January 18, 2020 I probably still won't be done, but we can hope! Let me know what you think!
