Chapter 17 Decapitations and an Injury.
Right now, Piper is in Magic School's nursery. Finding herself caught in mixed feelings. On one hand, it was cute to see a young generation of magical children playing together using magic for fun rather than to battle the forces of evil. It was nice to see magic being more than a tool to fight evil or for evil to fight good. However, it only brings her a petty annoyance that she and her sisters could have attended there. She doubts Nicolas could reach this place. And if no one could die on its ground, why didn't her mother or grams enrol them here?
"Mrs eh…" Piper started.
"Winterbourne, Mrs Winterbourne," The nursery teacher with medium-length dirty blond hair and brown eyes. Piper, if she had to guess, would assume the teacher was in her forties.
"Right, Mrs Winterbourne, do you have any idea why someone would want Magic School closed down?" Piper asked.
"Well, that's simple. A lot of children aren't lucky enough to have families who are aware of magic. Or accept the existence of magic. So, we let them come here where they can learn how to use magic for good and know that they aren't alone. If Magic School were to close, a lot of children would be vulnerable to evil manipulating them," Mrs Winterbourne answered.
"I'm guessing none of the little ones has developed the magic to conjure. Our mischievous horseman and are a little too young to chant this kind of advanced spells," Piper said, Mrs Winterbourne nodded her head.
"I doubt the culprit could use the children's magic as a collective, their magic isn't developed enough to perform such acts of magic," Mrs Winterbourne replied.
"Have you heard anything from other teachers who have suspicions?" Piper asked.
"No… No, not really, I don't really talk much with the other staff," Mrs Winterbourne answers.
"Lovely," Piper sighed. This wasn't getting her anywhere. Might as well see her sisters to see if they have found anything.
Leaving the school nursery, Piper makes her way back into the library. Where she can only find Paige and Chris.
"Any ideas?" Piper asked.
"Maybe, there a shape-shifter in the class, I taught. He definitely seems the kind who likes to push boundaries break the rules," Paige answered.
"Mrs Winterbourne believes the children in the nursery don't have the power to conjure the horseman," Piper said.
"That is most likely, Piper," Gideon said.
"Phoebe is still following the wolf," Chris said.
"Lovely, so we only have one suspect," Piper said with a sigh.
Seconds later, the group jump when a loud alarm belle comes out of nowhere. Only Gideon seems to be aware of why it has sounded off. Before they see Allen out of breath entering the library. Holding his right arm in his left, blood dripping down.
"ALLEN."
"I'm fine, but you have three more headless teachers near the potions classes," Allen joked.
"Leo, a student needs your assistance, excuse me, but I have to attend to the three newly decapitated teachers," Gideon apologized before running off.
End of chapter 17.
