Sorry for the long wait ma dudes, college was keeping me busy XD anyways, I hope you enjoy X3
Marcus was really starting to wish that one of the others had stayed behind with him. He jumped to the left as a razer tipped chain threatened to slash his side, a bullet grazing his forearm. Iron Claw and Panda Rebel were good partners, much to Marcus's annoyance. Whenever he dodged one sisters attack, the other would strike him the opposite direction. They were fast, skilled, and well quadrated with each other's movements. Iron claw with her razer whips, and Panda Rebel with her pistol. Anytime he tried to burn one of them, the other would mess with the attack. He jumped to the right as Panda shot another round at him, the bullet hitting a crate behind him, sending splinters past his shoulder. A razer whip coming from the left, he dodged to the right, the razer barely missing his throat. more splinters were sent flying past him. Whatever was in that crate was most certainly destroyed at this point. Marcus could burn this whole place to the ground if he had enough time to generate the energy for the flames, but with how things were going, he wasn't going to get the time.
"I'm gonna have to get them to hit each other." He thought quickly as he avoided more bullets to his left, and a razer whip slash above his head.
"Come on demon boy, I thought you were better than this!" Chen mocked him, snickering smugly.
Marcus growled and attempted to get his plan rolling. He ran forward and rolled out of the way as more bullets and whips headed towards him. He quickly stood up, he was now directly in between the two girls, who were a few yards apart from each other. Chen readied her pistols, Iron Claw readied her wrists, he could hear the clicks of metal. Chen pulled down the triggers, Iron Claw flicked her arm, the chain whip slicing through the air around her, both weapons heading towards Marcus. He fell to the ground in a duck, the two weapons headed for the opposite sister instead, bullets and whips going over him. He knew that the bullets weren't going to cause much damage to the bitch in the freakin iron maiden armor, but maybe her whips would take out Chen.
As expected, the bullets did nothing to the armor. But sadly, Chen was all too quick. She dodged to the left of the whip, grabbing it as she did. She looped it in the air like a lasso and landed it around Marcus's neck. He quickly gripped his fingers around the chain in an attempt to keep his windpipes from being crushed.
Iron Claw and Chen were pulling on both ends of the chain, pulling it tighter around Marcus, who was coughing and attempting to burn his way out of the situation, but the chocking affect of the chain was making if difficult to concentrate. He had to go on his knees, Iron Claws super strength was making this really bad, the chain was starting to cut into his hands.
Chen and Claw laughed evilly as he struggled.
"I hope you don't have any family, because you won't be seeing them again." Chen smirked with such an evil vile that Marcus would have burnt her to ground if he could see straight.
Suddenly two things happened simultaneously, there were two distinctly different metal sounds. The first one was a "thwink" kind of sound, the second was a "twunk" sort of sound. Chen collapsed to the ground, and both ends of the chain suddenly went slack. He heard Iron claw curse; "What the hell!"
Marcus quickly unwrapped the chain from his neck and started gulping breaths of air. He saw that Iron's chains were pinned to the ground knives, like somebody dart threw them there. Chen was lying unconscious on the ground, standing above her with a pipe was…..Chen.
"W-*cough* what the h-hell?" Marcus coughed and looked back between the Chen and the ground and Chen standing up. The girl on the ground had nice clothing and perfect makeup, like, unnaturally so. The girl standing looked disheveled, her makeup was smudged and messed up, she looked tired and bruised, her clothing had a small tares through out it.
Suddenly the girl on the ground glowed a dark green and her form shifted into that of a teenage boy with a lime green mohawk with punk clothing. The girl standing up, Chen, jumped over the unconscious boy and next to Marcus, who was exceptionally confused. She put an arm under his and helped him off the ground. By this time Iron Claw had gotten one chain ripped out of the knife, sending the blade flying across the camp.
"How dare you! You little-" Iron Claw readied her wrist to throw a chain at Chen.
Chen pulled an object out of her jacket pocket, it kind of looked like a bath bomb, and she threw in on the ground. Hot pink glittery smoke exploded from the object and surrounded them, Claw whipped her chain into the smoke but she felt nothing. When the smoke cleared, Chen and Marcus were gone.
-Back with Jade, Eric, and Frida.-
Eric and Frida held onto Jade as she limped through the camp, headed towards where she knew her mask was. Eric could smell the very faint smell of the mask in a rather large tent, likely a storage tent. The sky was still dark and full of sparkling stars, Frida couldn't help but feel a kind of small while looking up at it. It was the same sky she saw in Miracle City despite being thousands of miles away from there. The sky was just so big….She shook her head, the lack of good sleep was starting to get to her. The sky was always big, it was a dumb thing to think! That's a first thing your taught in first grade science class! Also, she had to focus on the current goal! What was the goal again? Oh, right! Jades mask!
They turned a corner and stopped in their tracks. They had been expecting guards, but not like this. The ground in front of the tent was covered in the scattered bodies of guards. Frida could tell they were dead, they weren't breathing.
"What the fuck…?" "What the hell…?" Frida and Eric cursed respectively.
"Made we should leave Jade out here…" The cheetah boy stated quietly.
"With all the bodies?!" Frida hissed in shocked concern.
"Well whatever did this is likely still in there!" Eric explained exasperatedly.
Jade coughed and pushed Frida and Eric away, standing on her own wobbly. She set her face to a stern look and stood up straight. She stood with her back straight, her chest out, and her jaw set.
"That mask has been in my family for generations. It was given to me to hold up my family's honor of protecting innocents. It I don't try to get it back, then I do not deserve it. I would rather die with honor, than live with shame." Jade stated sternly and began to walk to the tent.
"Jade, trying your best doesn't mean putting yourself in a dangerous situation! Don't do this!" Eric hissed at her and grabbed her arm, Frida grabbing her other one, trying to stop her from going.
"That is my mask, and my responsibility!" Jade snapped back.
"Yes, but you are my friend, making you my responsibility! I need you!" he continued.
Jade stopped walking and looked back at him.
"You're my best friend. Don't I mean something to you?" He looked at her pleadingly with tears in his eyes.
For a moment the young woman stared at the ground in silence.
"You mean the world to me, Eric, you are family." She replied quietly, looking back up at him.
"Which is exactly why I must go, I could never live with myself if you got killed trying to get back that mask." She continued with a stronger tone.
"If it would make you feel better, I will try to stay out of the fighting unless absolutely necessary." She spoke quietly, giving a very faint smile.
Eric sighed and nodded, knowing that it was likely the best option he was going to get from her.
They walked through the field of dead bodies, a shiver running up their bodies. Jade hated that her partner had to see this, the boy was too innocent for this. They got to the tent and walked inside, leaving the grisly scene behind them. The tent seemed empty, aside from some pond like structure. They walked closer and saw the water was black.
"What the hell?" Frida muttered.
"You're not far off actually." A female voice behind them stated creepily, they snapped around to see a woman covered in bandages, wearing a black and red lion mask. Before they could do or say anything, bandages magically wrapped around them and lifted them off the ground. The bandages being attached to the woman's arms.
"Such young children, your life forces are hardly ripe yet…" She snickered evilly.
"My mask! How dare you taint it like that!" Jade snapped at the woman.
"Oh, this is your mask? Now, now, you have only yourself to blame. It would have stayed attached to you if not for your desperation to escape Slayer." She mocked the mint haired girl.
Eric growled like a pissed off cat…which was appropriate, as he was one. Granted the growl of a cheetah wasn't all that intimidating, but it got him emotion across all the same.
"I'm am Nephthys, and I will be your deat-" The woman was interrupted as Frida swung an upper cut kick right at the woman's chin. Nephthys grabbed her face as she stumbled back, dropping the kids from the enchanted bandages. Eric grabbed Jade and helped her run. The three heroes quickly ran for cover.
-Somewhere else in the camp.-
Slayer stood next to a cage, a tiger inside. He new the boy would come from him. El Tigre was connected to a great spirit of the wilds, a spirit that Slayer new he likely ticked off. Thus, El Tigre would be drawn to a fight as well. The man had a shot gun in hand. If the boy was killed by a simple gun, he would prove to have been a waste of time, just as he had suspected all along.
Just then the gun was grabbed away from his grasp with a metal *shink* noise. He looked up to see a El Tigre standing on top of another cage, his hand was a grappling hook that had yanked the gun his way. His hand reattached to his wrist with a green spark and he bent the barrel of the gun, slamming it down to ground. The boy had had a pissed off look on his face, his fangs showing, his eats flat against his head, and his tail swishing wildly back n forth with aggravation.
El Tigre growled;
"I'm here for a rematch."
How fitting that a week before I turn 20, I release chapter 20 XD nice how things end up like that XD
