Chen helped Marcus to an area away from Iron Claw, a storage tent with an area in the back that was hidden by crates. "Why does this camp have so many crates?"; Marcus though as he took big gulps of air and sat down on the ground. Chen leaned up against the crates, listing carefully to the outside world. She was listening for any signs of Iron Claw nearby.
"W-what s g-going on!" He hissed as his breathing returned to a normal state. "Why are there two of you?"
"I was kidnapped and now somebody's pretending to be me." She stated as she dug inside a barrel, looking for something.
"So….you're not the one that stabbed Eric?"
Her face shot up to look at him, an shocked expression on her face. "He was stabbed?"
"Yeaaah…..and it was you holding the blade, or at least, someone who looked like you." Marcus explained, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"I'll kill that son of bitch for hurting the kid!" She hissed in quiet anger.
It was silent for a few moments as she looked at the ground with anger. Marcus was still a bit confused, but he was catching up. Chen was captured, somebody took her looks, pretended to be her, and waited for the right moment to strike. He still didn't know who was pretending to be her, or how long the real Chen had been captured. Luckily though he could get at least one of those answered.
"How long have you been captured?" he asked, getting up from the ground.
"A few days ago. It was the day you guys arrived. I was training in the gym when I got attacked and knocked out by my doppelganger." She explained.
His face lit up; "That must have been the commotion I heard! I saw you were ok, so I just thought that you were having an argument with a sandbag." He half chuckled at the last part.
Then his expression went to slight horror; "Awwww man, that means It was a doppelganger that kissed me!"
She laughed a bit.
"I'll fix that later." She smiled playfully and gave a wink.
He smiled and gave her a friendly salute.
Frida and the other two hid behind an overturned table, they picked up objects and threw them at the mummy. Frida managed to sling-shot a wine bottle directly at the woman's head, knocking her back. She screeched in pain and anger. Raising her arm above her head, a red shock wave shot out of her hand. Frida gasped at the wave, it felt like she had the wind knocked out of her, except she still had air in her lungs.
Suddenly, the tent behind them began to tear and rip. A rotting hand tore through the camo fabric, a dead face appearing after it. The monster slowly walked towards them.
Jade grabbed a sharp piece of wood and armed herself.
Another zombie followed, and another, and another. Soon there were at least a dozen zombies stalking into the tent. Animal skeletons began crawling out of the crates, the three were becoming surrounded.
The Mummy sat at the far end of the tent, smirking at her undead army. Her throne was made of blood red crystals.
Jade; "Nefertiti must be taken out!"
Eric; "I'll try to get the mask from her!"
"Whatever you do, just do it fast!" Frida snapped back, stabbing a zombie with a tusk.
"It's a good thing that being fast in my main skill!"
Eric dashed his way through the zombies, avoiding the charge of a skeletal elephant. Nefertiti may be very powerful in magic, but she seemed to lacked hand to hand combat skills. At least, from what he could tell anyways. Eric was hoping that his speed and agility would be enough to give him an opening. He had to strike fast and hard!
Eric jumped of the shoulders of a zombie and into the air, and then went into super speed mode. He launched at the mummy full form; his claws bared. She barely managed to dodge, cursing as she shifted to the right, Eric zooming past her. That was exactly what he hoped she would do.
"Star Dust Strike!" he snapped, and with a flash of flight he was gone.
Well, seemingly gone. Nefertiti felt a slash on her arm as a streak of light went past, it was so fast she could barely see it. She felt more pain on her limbs and back as the light slashed at her. She attempted to slap the assailant away, but he was going far to fast. But then, in a split second she felt claws grip around the mask.
"ENOUGH!" She boomed, releasing a wave of red energy.
Eric got knocked out of his attack by the wave of red electricity, slamming into a tent pole, breaking it.
"ERIC!?" Jade shouts in concern.
The boy opened his eyes with a groan, and then snapped his eyes wide open as he leapt out of the way. A skeletal elephant had charged at him and slammed into the pole, smashing it to splinters. As a skeletal Rhino charged at him, he had the quick realization that the skeletal animals were all after him. Before that had just been mindlessly charging in directions, but Nefertiti must have ordered them to target him. It was very easy to see that he was going to have to destroy the skeletons before he could go after the mask again.
During all of this Frida and Jade had constructed a small fort of tables and chairs, it helped keep the zombies at bay as they threw nearby objects and stabbed the oncoming monsters.
Frida grabbed an unopened wine bottle and was about to throw it at Nefertiti, but stopped when the gears in her head decided to start turning. For a few seconds she looked back and forth between the bottle and the mummy, her brain pulling out information from its chaotic depths. Finally, a devious smile formed on her face.
"Jade, keep the zombies of my back!" Frida leapt over the back of the barricade and towards the ripped tent wall. She ripped of a long piece of cloth and quickly ran back, stabbing a zombie that got too close. Back in the fort she worked on her devious plan. She opened up the wine and stuffed the cloth down it. Now all she needed was fire….which was not anywhere around.
"WAIT!" She pulled out her taser and used the electricity to set the cloth on fire.
She then proceeded to yeet it directly at Nefertiti, hitting the evil woman straight in the chest. The mummy screamed bloody murder, screeching her voice high at the pain.
"Oof, right in the tits." Frida cringed. She jumped over the zombie barricade and towards the writhing Nefertiti. In one swift moment, she whipped her goggles around the wrists of the mummy and tied them behind her back. The mummy struggled to get out, but Frida held her wrists, Jade coming up behind her and helping hold the mummy back.
"ERIC, NOW!" Jade shouted out. The blond boy used a crystal to launch him over the skeletal animals and over to the angry burning woman. He gripped his claws under the edges of her mask and pulled as hard as he could. Red sparks flew, snapping at his arms, and causing bleeding. With a roar in pain and a blast of red energy, he was sent flying across the room, sliding across the ground on his back, leaving a cloud of dirt in his wake. Eric groaned in pain, the mask firmly gripped in his claws. The skeletons and zombies collapsed to the ground, the elephants made a very load clack as their bones bounced off each other.
The mummy screeched in rage, but stopped dead when Jade punched her I the face, knocking her out instantly. Frida and Jade quickly ran to their fallen friend, who laid on the ground, motionless. The green haired woman slid to his side and lifted him slightly.
"Eric?" She asked quietly, clearly worried about her dear friend.
He groaned in pain and stirred, finally opening his eyes. He looked at her and gave a weak smile;
"I got the mask." He lifted up the mask and handed it to her.
She smiled warmly with pride and hugged him "You did well my friend." She stated with pride.
*SNIFF*
They broke out of the hug and turned to Frida, who had tears running down her cheeks. They raised a brow.
"I'm sorry, IT'S JUST SO BEUTAFUL!" She sniffed with a dramatic cry.
They just shook their heads and smiled at her.
They got off the ground and turned back to where Nefertiti had been, but she was gone. All that was left were a few burnt bandages and Frida's goggles.
"She escaped." Jade muttered under her breath.
Frida walked over to the burnt ashes and picked up her goggles "Awwwwww, the elastic broke!"
"I suppose you'll have to get another one." Jade stated without much emotion, which was her normal tone.
"My grandmother had given it to me…I can't get another one." Frida's frown deepened.
"Oh…" Jade looked down, feeling a little shameful.
"Maybe it can be fixed?" Eric suggested with a slight smile.
Frida shrugged and gave a weak smile, brushing off the disappointment;
"I doubt it, but I'll worry about it later. For now, let's go find Manny!"
And off they ran in search of the others.
I know I misspelled 'beautiful,' but it looked better for the joke. XD
