Guardian Of Nobodies

Someone said it was unrealistic of Cassie having a party member in Demyx so soon. Let me just say this, it needs to be this way. She needs at least three members of her group for the first real issue she handle's to come to pass during the summer. So I plan to do just that. I have a plan for this story believe me. You might not believe this, but every crossover and character has a place in this fic.

Chapter 3: Christmas Surprises! Return of the Wind and Void!:

Cassie was in The World That Never Was practicing with her Fairy magic. She was practicing flying when a green light crashed nearby. She landed quickly turning back to normal. Grabbing her lantern flashlight which she used to find her way she walked over to the general area of where the light crashed. She walked until she saw a crater. Inside was a sight she wanted to be sick at the lone look she gave it. Ventus, one of the three students of the MIA Keyblade Master Eraqus was out cold in the crater. She was quick to transform and go into the hole. She gently picked up the unconcious boy and quickly flew to the Castle.

Demyx saw the blinding light of the lantern flashlight before he saw Ventus. Demyx filled with parental concern, took the boy from Cassie who said, "Take him to the infirmary. I need to get my bag from where I was practicing my flying. I'll see to him in a few moments." Demyx nodded along with Shadow who was sitting with the water user.

Cassie roughly thirty minutes later entered the infirmary which she updated. She ran a few tests, and then began pouring her magic into him. As a result, his dark side Vanitas, was split from him. As far as she could tell completely seperate from Ventus. Demyx asked, "How did you pull this off?!" Cassie said, "I...have no idea." Demyx said, "Let's just chalk it up to divine intervention and leave it at that." Shadow and Cassie looked at each other and said, "Agreed."

Ventus snuggled into the soft pillow he had been sleeping on. He hadn't felt so warm and comfortable in a long time. When he went to roll onto his side, he felt something tug on his arm. He opened his eyes to see a clear tube connected to a plastic bag on one end and a needle on the other. After what Xehanort did to him prior to Master Eraqus taking him in he hated hospitals and needles. He took the tube in his hand and yanked the needle out of his arm. It hurt when he did so and his arm was torn up and bleeding because of it. Which caused him to start crying.

Demyx was walking to the infirmary to check in on Ventus and Vanitas when he heard crying. He quickly sent one of his Dancer Nobodies to Cassie with a message to get to the Infirmary fast. Demyx entered the room and saw Ventus awake, the IV tube in his hand and his arm all bloody. The Melodious Nocturne was fast to fill a basin with water and started washing the blood off the smaller blonde's arm. He was rubbing the smaller blonde's back comforting him as best he could when Cassie entered the room. The older blonde saw Ventus was close to sobbing when Cassie asked gently, "Do you want a hug?" Ventus teary eyed nodded. Cassie was quick to wrap the crying blonde in a hug that was really warm. She healed his torn up arm and replaced the old needle with a new one. Cassie gently told him, "It's okay. It's okay. Your safe now. I promise once that bag is empty I'll take the needle out. Alright?" Ventus nodded still a little teary eyed. Vanitas woke up at that moment. Cassie looked at him in a no nonsense tone said, "Don't you dare suggest the two of you merge. You try, I swear I will smack you with my wooden shinai." Demyx said in a cheeky tone, "Cas would do it too. I've seen her do it before." Which prompted Vanitas to ask, "Who are you two?" Cassie said, "Cassiopeia Daphne Midnight Potter. I also answer to Cassie, Cas, or Xion." Demyx said, "Demyx Jarred Marina. Just call me Demyx. Or Daniel Rainheart either one works." Vanitas said, "Now that introductions are out of the way how did we seperate? I have no desire to merge with Ventus. Which is odd." Cassie said, "We've agreed to call it divine intervention and leave it at that. Mostly cause I have no idea how it happened. I was pouring my magic into Ventus in an effort to wake him up, then it happened. Out of the blue no warning what so ever." Ventus said softly, "That's crazy, but I'll elect to ignore it."

Casie checked both boys over and made them food to eat. She said, "Once summer break hits, I'll get you two enrolled in the Magic School I attend as transfers. As far as the school will be aware you two are going to be my cousins from overseas. I have enough high level contacts to get me all the needed documentation. I had a relative in the US pass away recently, so we're claiming your her sons. I kept in contact with my American relations and they agreed to cover for you. My relative was not big on picture sharing and died in a fire that caused everything to be lost aside from some keepsakes. Those will be sent to Privet Drive. Since we couldn't find a bigger house we're rennovating the house. But you can have two rooms here in the castle if you wish. I can teach you how to make cooridors of darkness. Since Light and Darkness have two sides to them." Ventus asked confused, "Two sides?" Cassie nodded, "Yep. The Pure Side and the Tainted Side. The Pure Sides of Light and Darkness are called the Calming Light and the Gentle Darkness." Ventus commented, "Gentle Darkness, that doesn't sound scary at all." Cassie chuckled warmly, "That's because it isn't. The Gentle Darkness is born from the Night Sky. With all of the stars and moon there to guide those who walk it. It's power grows with Hope." Vanitas said, "Sounds nice." Demyx replied, "It is. Since Cassie restored what I lost, I've learned to use the kinder side to Darkness to open portals. So long as Night falls in a World, I can go there. Unlike the cooridors created by Xemnas and his ilk. They use the ones made of Tainted Darkness. Both groups have to use special Coats to cast off any negative side effects." Cassie said, "I found a bunch of old journals. Some belonging to Xemnas and other belonging to someone else. Not sure who yet. In one, I found the spell combinations used to create the Coats. I managed to make a bracelet that does the same thing. I took a vial of my blood and used it to bind the bracelet to me. So no one else can use it except for myself. I can make you guys your own if you want." Vanitas and Demyx were quick to say yes. Ventus was more hesitant. Cassie said, "I promise, everything will be quick. I swear I will doing everything in my power to keep it painless." Ventus said in a quiet but fearful tone, "You promise Cassie?" Cassie's eyes softened, "I promise Ven."

The next few days were filled with shopping, studying, training, jam sessions, and moving things from rooms into storage for the duration of the rennovations. Once the news came they were allowed to adopt the twins and that her "relative's fraternal twin sons" were coming to live with them, the rennovation started. But not before Cassie came clean. She had some sneaky methods of protecting their minds from being read. For her Aunt she had a dreamcatcher necklace made like the one her mother once wore. Her Uncle and Dudley had wrist cuffs with special linings or a charmed crystal embedded into it. As far ad Vernon's co-workers or Dudley's teachers/classmates were concerned, Cassie developed a jewelry making hobby and gave them her first successful pieces.

When school started up again, Cassie was starting to become famous in the non-magical world as a Digidestined. Same with Dudley and the others. She found out, Ken was a Magical too. Which made her and Davis feel less the odd ones out. To make things even better, the pair were going to be temporary transfers until the end of fifth year! Both Davis and Ken had inheritances in England. Law dictated if they wanted to keep them they had to pass the O.W.L's in England. It meant Cassie would have back-up aside from Ventus and Vanitas. But this meant she would have to find her team and fast! She didn't know what her next few years had in store for her, but one thing was for certain. She had been born in this World at the specific point in it's history for a reason. She just had to figure out what that reason was.

Cassie continued on for the school year. Doing her assignments, reading her books, making lists of things to change in the castle, and keeping in touch with Demyx. Who with her help, got set up as Daniel Rainheart. It was the Rangers version of WitSec more or less. As far as she could tell, the Rangers were thurough with the documentation. Demyx or Danny as her Aunt called him bought the house accross the street from them. It used to be home to Arabella Figg. But a sneaky comment by Cassie to her Aunt when the gossips of the street were over for tea during break before they went to Japan sparked an investigation. Namely, how she paid for her house and the large number of cats she owned. As she had no job, no husband, and no known inheritance to draw from. Not to mention paying taxes. Cassie's innocent 'questions' sparked a major investigation and forced Mrs. Figg out of Privet Drive. "Danny" was a delight in the neighborhood. He owned a small business Cassie had some shares in. He was kind. Even though he admitted he was gay, he was a handy man to have around.

Cassie was about to head to her next class when she was plowed into by Shadow. Shadow pulled her into an empty classroom. "Xion, we have a problem kupo!" Cassie sighed, "What is it? Let me rephrase, what is it this time?" Shadow said, "Demyx sent word that Xemnas was spotted! He suggested that you visit the fairies during spring break. When you'll be 'visiting' home to 'meet' your distant cousins." Cassie said, "Sure thing. I'll probably need a battle outfit for use this summer."

Spring Break rolled around, and Cassie was quick to head to visit the three good fairies. She got a battle outfit suited to her style and a few others as well. What was the fun in only having one battle outfit. This way she could mix and match as she liked.

Cassie's Spring Break was spent reading her magic scrolls, planning her 'summer trip' with her friends, and making sense of her accounts. Vernon helping out in the last one. Vernon couldn't believe how much was swindled from his niece when given the conversion rate. Dumbledore had a lot to answer for. The fact he swindled so much made the uncle and niece both furious. Surprisingly, the desire to put things to rights is what allowed the usually rude Vernon and no nonsense Cassie to bond even just a little. Cassie and Petunia were going over her pre-trip shopping list. Daniel had surprised them by saying he would be the adult chaperone. With the Power Rangers backing him it made him look better to the neighbors.

All to soon it was the end of the year. Cassie had long since switched the 'Sorcerers Stone' for a very convincing fake. And wouldn't you know it, the incident caused her to meet Nicholas Flamel, the biggest Fullmetal Alchemist Otaku she had ever met! Even funnier was finding out Nick was Ed! He said the stone wasn't made the normal way, instead it used manifestations of chaos energy that leaked into their World. It was also hilarious because that meant Perenelle was Winry! The Rockbell matriarch offered to teach her how to make automail. Cassie declined saying wait a few years and see what happens. Since she had a lot to do.

The second she was settled in Privet Drive, she found a Blood Wardstone. She discreetly requested a New Blood to come a drain the Ward and set up appropriate wards for a mostly non-magical area. They came while her Uncle was at work and her aunt was taking the infant twins to the doctor as it turned out, the mother was an addict. Dudley was with his mother. Cassie was double checking her list for the trip when Demyx, Danny to the neighborhood came over. "Hey, Cas just came to check in to make sure we had everything. Drake, Daph, and Mione are excited to be going with us this summer. Mrs. Malfoy and Mrs. Granger asked what they needed to bring with them. So I gave them the basic list and said you and I would handle the rest." Cassie said, "That's about right. When Uncle Vernon get's home he and Dudley will watch the twins while Aunt Petunia and I go buy what we need to. Mostly first aid kits and the like. We also have to stop for premade potions and the like. This will be fun. Though we so have to stop in Twilight Town for Sea Salt Ice Cream." Demyx laughed. "Agreed. Though I did some recon lately and heard some ansettling rumors." Cassie stopped her packing to look at the Melodious Nocturne. "Unsettling how?" Demyx said, "Xehanort unsettling. He discovered how to rip a Nobody from their Somebody. If we can find their base we can raid it to rescue Nobodies seperated from their Somebodies." Cassie said, "I agree. But we need a different name. Organization XIII will always be Xemnas/Xehanort's group. I want ours to be something else." Demyx said, "Like a Secret Club?" Cassie said, "That'll work. Though what to call it?" Demyx said, "How about the True Hearts Club?" Cassie chuckled, "Fitting. Very fitting. I can get some Scout communicators from Artemis once he finishes setting up the command center in the Castle. Our members will be identifiable by the protection bracelets and the communicators. rather than the Coats of the Orginization. Heck we could even change the colors of the Coats just for fun. Whatever color they like best." Demyx snorted now that would be funny.
