"Do you think she'll like me?" Beth asked from her spot in the passenger seat, trying to ignored Jordan's giggle and Alex's answer of no.
"She'll like you, don't worry about that hon" Aaron said, knowing deep down that she should in fact hate her, but didn't want to make the poor girl more nervous then she was.
Beth and Aaron had been dating for the past 6 months; she was a 34 year old museum manager, and met Aaron when he was taking the twins to the museum, showing them the new Greek exhibit. They started dating soon after that.
She nodded as they drove towards his old house, from what he told her his ex wife was a very kind and caring person but what the Internet had told her was that Emily was from a very powerful family and was now Dean of the whole F.B.I Academy. And really Beth wasn't a stupid women, she knew Aaron still had feelings for her and the fact that the twins would do nothing but talk about their mom whenever Beth was over didn't help. Beth had only met the twins and Jack; the other two kids didn't want to spend time with Aaron at all. So not only was she meeting this amazing women her boyfriend still loved, but his eldest kids too.
"Will Grandma be there by the time we get there?" Jordan asked from the backseat.
Aaron nodded, "Yes sweetie, both Grandma Ann and Grandma Liz."
Beth's eyes widened, "Your mother will be there too?"
"Of course, Jack is her last grandkid and she takes care of the kids through out the day. I'm pretty sure she showed up about an hour before the party started."
"Oh great," Beth sighed, and meeting his mom too, who was in love with his ex. Just great.
'Jack is her last grandkid.' She looked at him again and then back at the girls. She knew that he loved her but that maybe if she did her best she could change his mind, that he might fall for her.
"Oh Beth, all you have to do is please everyone at the party who loves my mom." Alex said in an evil tone, pulling the brunett from ger thoguhts.
"Oh where talking at least 30 to 40 people are coming today. The team, mom's new co workers, everyone who loves Jack." Jordan grinned
"Right, and out little brother has a big heart, that gets everyone melting. So that's not that many. Just be yourself, my mom won't like you either way."
"Alex, Jordan that's enough!" Aaron interrupted them. The girls just giggled, "Don't listen to them, you'll be fine" he said, grabbing her hand for support as they pulled up to the house.
"Wow" she whispered, it was huge but then again her family was more then rich so it was to be expected; something to fit 7 people and all the people who come for parties.
The girls jumped out of the car right as it stopped, they grabbed their bags and raced to the front door, ringing the bell as Beth and Hotch made their way up the cobble stone pathway.
"Ready?" Aaron asked as they waited to be let in.
"Somewhat" Beth smiled as the door opened.
~~~~~
"MOM!" the girls yelled, hugging their mother tightly.
"Hi to you too" Emily laughed hugging her girls back. "Go put your stuff in your rooms before going out ok?"
"Yes momma" and they were off to do as told.
Emily smiled and turned to her ex and his girlfriend.
"Hello, I'm Emily." She smiled, trying not to be fake and she shook the nervous girls hand, "I'm Beth, it's nice to meet you."
"Hello Emily, you look good." Aaron said as he took in her suit.
"Thank you Aaron, please come in everyone is already here." she said ushering them into the house.
Making their through the living room, Emily walked them through the kitchen where she heard voices.
"I just into Vale, decided to go to the same school mom did." James said to his aunt Erin, as he stole a piece of the watermelon she was cutting.
"I thought you wanted to go Harvard?" Morgan asked from his sitting spot on the counter.
"I did originally but Vale has so much more to offer me than Harvard does, I found out that an old classmate of mom's works in the Lawyer department of the Campus and said that he would be willing to take me under his wing if I wanted to tag along on cases with him." James smiled proudly.
"What's his name?" JJ asked after putting the cake in the fridge.
"John Millers" Emily said, coming in with Aaron and Beth behind her.
James smiled at his mom but it soon fell when he saw his dad and a young girl with her. He sighed moving closer to his mom in a protective manor.
"James my boy, how are you" Aaron smiled at his eldest, he looked like a younger version of Sean, which he and Emily often joked about when he was young.
"Aaron" James nodded, wrapping an arm around his mother's shoulders.
"That's dad to you James" Aaron said sternly, upset that he and Amber had taken to calling him by his first name.
"Not anymore cheater" James glared, Emily smiled slightly but still needed to get involved or they would start fighting.
"James please go check on your brother"
"I'm not leaving you"
"James, sweetie please just go I'll be fine." Emily smiled, pushing him through the door to the back yard.
Rolling his shoulders, he made his way to his sister, who was watching the kids in the jumper.
Emily turned to those in the kitchen, "Guys this is Aaron's girlfriend Beth."
"Hi, it's nice to meet you all" Beth smiled nervously, a little taken back by James' out burst.
"Like wise," JJ said while giving Erin a side-glance.
"Beth these are most of my team and friends, Jennifer, Erin and Derek."
Beth nodded to each of them, hiding behind Aaron slightly, her hand still gripping his tightly.
"Please enjoy yourselves, we have food and drinks outside by the barbeque, Dave is cooking more burgers and meat. Reid I think is blowing up pool animals for the kids and your mother is somewhere." Emily said, leading her ex and his girlfriend to the backyard.
"You have a lovely house Emily, I love the set up of everything." Beth said, taking in the huge backyard. On one side of the yard was a dinosaur themed jumper; there was a large infinity pool on the other side and a roomy cabana that lead into it. And in the middle of it all was another cabana, this one had a bar in it as well as the barbeque being there, with lots of adults surrounding the main man cooking.
"Oh thank you Beth, you're so...sweet" Emily forced out with another smile.
Emily led the two to the cabana where she introduced them to everyone. Rossi handed over the spatula to a dad of one of the kids and went over to his friend.
"Dave I'd like you to meet my girlfriend Beth." Aaron said after shaking his friends hand.
"Oh yes, Beth nice to meet you, I'm David I work with Aaron." Dave smiled, shaving Beth's hand.
"Yes he told me about you and your team, you're an author as well?"
"Yes I am, I write books on True Crime."
Just then Emily felt an arm wrap around her waist, turning she saw Ann standing next to her glaring at the younger women's head.
"Hello Aaron." She said to her eldest son.
