Azule and Sky exit the apartment dressed in their school attire, and head to the parking lot where they walk up to a sleek designed Black car that had bulky rear and sharply cut front. Azule become infatuated whenever he catches sight of it, admiring the curves on the body. He rests his hand on the trunk, "I always see you try with the most effort to keep this car looking nice. It's so shiny! Did you wax it?"
Sky has a shine in her eye as she stares at her car, "She's my pride and joy! Of course I gave a good waxing preparing for today. Why do you think we took the bus to the city? For the past two years, I've been making modifications and upgrades to make her the ultimate driving machine."
"I've been meaning to ask, but how did you get the car? I notice that you wash and polish it everyday and take good care of it…but I didn't think you had enough money to afford this car."
A drop of sweat trickles down her forehead, "I-I got it as a reward for my hard work at my job! They give away cool stuff if you do a really good job…"
"Wow! That's awesome!" Azule responded, believing her. He actually bought it! Azule how can you be so dense you fool! She thought doing a spit-take in her head, expecting him to be sharp enough to figure out that she was lying after all that training she made him do. "If they pay you this handsomely maybe I can join you?'
"O-oh, nah. I don't think it's a job you'd like anyways."
"Hm? Why not?" he asked so innocently, curious to learn more about her. Sky didn't really look like she wanted to elaborate, and respecting her wishes he changed the subject. "I can't wait to go to this new school, is it really as exciting as you say it is?" he asked getting in the passenger seat.
"Definitely! The school is massive, and there's so much to do that there can never be a dull moment as long as you're there. Another cool thing they do is offer luxurious dorms mandatory for the first years to stay in, and of course you can live off campus starting your second year."
"Cool! So I can stay on campus even in my following year?"
"Yeah, a great way to make friends. I already took care of everything so no need to worry about paying for room and board, just make sure to earn the best grade imaginable." She said, keeping her eyes on the road; he responds with a smile and nod.
The two of them appeared to have this unbreakable bond that would be ideal for any siblings, but it wasn't like they magically formed this in their reunion. This strong bond went back to when they were little children and all through their years growing into pre-adolesence. At the age of 9 and 7 when their parents disappeared in the second Great Turf War between the warriors of Inkland and the Octarian army. About two years ago, Sky left the orphanage to attend Squid Academy High School after receiving an offer from the principal to go there; an offer too difficult to refuse since Squid Academy is one of the richest and most prestigious high schools in the country. She left the orphanage alone after agreeing to the terms, which were that only she could be rescued, which menat her brother was to be sacrificed. It was a difficult decision for someone her age to make, but she believed that one day she'd come back and rescue him too and went ahead and left him, only promising him before she left that she'd come back to get him no matter what. Azule believed her with all his heart and waited patiently in those two long years, only to realize that she wouldn't come back, or more like she couldn't. It was usually alluded to but never directly addressed since it was a touchy subject for the pair, more so for Azule, though he didn't resent her or hold her accountable for what she promised, it wasn't easy for him to forget those days. In the time they were separated, Azule suffered physically and mentally from the poor condition and strict guidance to the constant abuse from everyone there. For those two long scarring years, he had no guidance, no protection, no hope.
He looks over to his sister and watched how calm she looked holding that steering wheel, it probably isn't healthy for me to continue dwelling on the past. What matters is that I'm together with her again, and even if I won't be staying with her anymore, I can always see her. We'll never be separated again.
"So, are you ready for your first day? We'll be attending the same school together, awesome huh!"-slowing down the car as they approached a red light at the intersection.
"Yeah, I've looked forward to the day where we'd be together again-even if I'll be on my own from here on. Either way, I'm thankful for everything you've done."
"Aww, you're too sweet!" pinching his cheeks again.
The light turned green and they continued their drive, passing by the suburbs of town. Azule looked out the window and saw the many different shops and other businesses; it was a mellow feeling that he found in the suburbs of Karpomagi, a major city next to Inkopolis city.
She smiled confidently, "You'll make new friends in no time! People at this school are SUPER friendly; I made like twenty new friends on my first day here."
"Yeah, out here looks really nice. I can't wait to see how the school looks." He said, still looking out the window.
"You'll love it." She glances at him for a quick second and then recalls some news to share with him; "I got some news you'll be excited to hear."
"Like what?"
She still keeps her eyes on the road, "An old friend will be moving here in the winter, and she's looking to transfer to our school when she comes here."
Azule narrows his eyes as he tried to recall anyone he might know, "I don't recall any girls that I know…"
"Really!? Weren't there three more people that we knew back at the orphanage…pretty sure two of them were girls?" hoping to jog his memory, although she only remembered one person herself.
"I can't remember that well…I'd prefer to not think about that place."
"You're right." closing that subject and pulling into a parking lot.
The two get out the car and fully showcase their school attire; Azule wore a black jacket with a white and cream colored undershirt with a red tie that denotes that he was a first year student, black pants, black socks, black shoes. Sky wore the same uniform except that her tie was blue and instead of pants, she wore a plaid blue skirt with black knee-high socks. They both approach a giant collection of buildings in which many students could be seen walking through the entrance; they left an area that had a sign written nearby that said "Student Parking" placed right at the entrance
Azule and Sky both take a quick glance at the skyline of Inkopolis city sitting in the distance, standing high above the clouds. Sky looks at Azule, and he looks back at her-both thinking the same thing.
"Let's have a good school year!" they fist bump, beginning their first day of class.
