"Bye boo. Have a nice life. Do everything" Yellow eyes took a gander to just beyond her best friend's fire red head. Through the glass walls. A shoulder length, brunette male sat lax outside in the Gazebo. Quietly sipping on his coffee, waiting patiently on his company to return. "I would."
While hearing a flustered breath from the small-framed Celestial Being, Liara removed herself from Alana's side with a coy hum. By slowly making way to the coffee station, pouring herself a warm up, the She Wolf made sure her friend knew she personally finished this conversation. As the caramel skin-toned woman reluctantly retreated to return to her awaiting date, the broad built female headed for the Sidebar.
With so many different choices catering to anyone's liking, the She Wolf finally decided with a shrug, on a loaf of Banana Nut Bread. During grabbing one to her liking, with more obvious walnuts peeking out from within the bread, she overheard a stuttered breath. One still a safe distance away, however closing in at a rapid pace. In knowing she needed a long and lengthy distraction from all the on goings in the Base, Liara decided on grabbing yet another, as well as a large sized container of peaches. Two plump pieces of fruit seemed more than enough for the remainder of night, which was more heavily pushing into daybreak.
As the Wolf woman pushed right. Stepping away from a S.H.I.E.L.D. officer, she could hear a shy caring voice at the coffee machine. Asking her delicate female company if she needed anything. Liara thought it cute, couples were here getting refreshments. A slew of ones she cared in never knowing, as this one. Then there was Alana and Bucky, also Bruce with Betty, two couples she would love to stick around and involve herself in their exchanges. Liara quickly wet her lips, in deciding better.
Placing her overly hot drink down on the steel serving counter, Liara began stacking her food items. In being able to carry them in her right hand without any chance of incident. Clutching everything safely in both hands, she swiftly turned to leave. Her eyes automatically found and locked on, in her opinion, a pair of beautiful brown orbs. Ones which appeared to be nervously guilty in finding hers. The She Wolf pushed off this feeling of remorse. Knowing the only reason Banner was in this state of shameful hesitance, the small woman by his side.
A woman Liara knew he had been pining over for many years. At this very moment, everything about Bruce was screaming aloud his joy in having Betty just close to him. Liara could not help to see the happiness shared in the duo. Their heartbeats were erratic. The stolen looks by either, which produced the shy smiles in both. Liara gave a smirk as she chuckled once to herself. She admitted to herself they were actually cute together, and seemed to somehow fit. Even after all the time they were apart, they still carried a connection, well, attraction for each other. And Liara herself could admit she would not be the one to interfere with anything which was them.
A lift of neatly arched brows as yellow eyes sparkled back while staring at him. Bruce knew he needed to have a word with Liara, but how to go about this, laid the problem. He found the boldness from somewhere down deep, clearing his throat. "I need a word with you, if you do not mind."
A shrug as Liara obliged. "Sure. But I haven't much time to spare. I need to get to work."
Yellow eyes gave all her attention to him alone. Bruce knew Guerra detected a slight nervousness to his tone. Which now willingly fed his demeanor. It was all too evident. No matter how hard he suppressed anything, this woman could sense it. Before his feelings manifested into more, Banner checked himself. He nodded taking a quick lingering look to his right. Betty Ross, who seemed very interested in the other woman. "Betty, this…this is Liara. Liara, this is Betty."
A thin, pale-skinned woman with long jet black hair. Every strand, neatly pulled into a tight braided bun, high upon the back of her head. A rich dark brown cotton A-line skirt, paired with a silk cream button up blouse, her outfit of choice. From the top of her perfectly done head to the bottom of her black one and a half inch heeled dress shoes, screamed grandma in Liara's opinion. Even the woman's personal aroma was distasteful. Lavender. Which was masked with what was perceived as old lady perfume. A heavy hand used in application to boot. However, the overpowering sulfur she picked up from the lab, made everything just that much worse. The frail looking woman extended her hand for Liara to accept. "Hello. Any friend of Bruce is a friend of mine."
Yellow eyes changed their gaze for the slender hand inches from her person. "Yeah, I don't do that."
"I'm sorry?" Her voice was harmonious, delicate and overly feminine.
"I just don't do that." As Liara repeated herself, she now stared into Betty's light blue eyes. A very nice contrast to the darkness of her hair.
The Avenger's scientist was beginning to feel overly anxious in the women's exchange. When a phone began to ring, the tune brought him from the mounting feeling. "Betty, do you…"
"I'm so sorry, Bruce. I really need to take this. I'll meet you in your room perhaps?" The short woman quickly walked away before answering the ringing cell phone.
"Go with your woman Jekyll, I have things I really need to do." Liara carefully passed Banner, who was quickly on her toes.
The salt and pepper haired man took a breath as he finally caught up to the woman, who was indeed in a rush to leave this area. "Hold on. I really need to speak to you."
Liara spun, in a need to give him a word or two. In doing so, Banner almost slammed into her. The swiftness of the woman's hands in moving the coffee and snacks away from her body, only caused the food to tumble to the floor. Quite a bit of coffee wasted on her hand, enough to burn. There was a draw of breath through gritted teeth as a slight wince of pain was given.
Bruce lowered himself to retrieve the two saran wrapped loaves. Noticing the peachless container. Unable to find where the round fruit had rolled. "Here. Your fruit is…"
"What in the hell do you want Jekyll?" Liara, watching her own finger trace the burn mark on her hurt hand, provoking more searing pain, from the heat transfer.
"Is your hand okay?" Brown eyes taking in the rather large bright red burn, on the tender skin between her thumb and forefinger. Even though the pain was evident, Liara's hand still tightly clutched the paper coffee cup.
Soft yellow eyes took in the stark contrasts in colors upon the man's head as he inspected her hand.
"I'm completely fine, Jekyll. It burns, which it should. I'll be fine by the time I get to where I'm going. And no, you are not going with me. You have a girl that wants to meet up…" Liara stopped when he lifted his eyes to stare at her. Something was going on within him, he was giving off all types of signs. From his heart rate speeding, to his demeanor becoming just that more firm.
Bruce tore his eyes from the woman who stood and just stared at him, to take in his environment. Right, no one there. Left, no one down the long corridor to the elevators. He scratched the back of his head as he inspected the ceiling in the hallway.
Yellow eyes narrowed for only a fraction of a second, knowing what her company was doing. They had been here before, too many times. This was not going to happen once again. No matter how wonderful his scent was becoming. She eased to her right, and swiftly began down the hall.
She had made it to the elevator landing when the force of a tight grip pulled, overpowering her as it pushed her into the dim lit stairwell. "We are having this conversation."
"As much as this," when Liara's back slammed hard against the wall, she laughed in a husky tone, "is unbelievably enjoyable, I'll have to pass. There is not one conversation you are trying to have."
Her eyes were slowly beginning to tell their tale. As they did, Bruce decided to place a hand beside either side of Liara's head. A court chuckle at her remark. "You are the one I'm interested in. Not her."
"She's the one going to your room, without one voiced refusal on your side." Even brighter eyes quickly enlarged once, as a smirk pulled her left cheek taut.
Bruce tried to voice his side. "Liara…"
"It's okay, baby. I understand. Love of your life and all. She may not sound like a little country baby like I do. She may be skinnier than me too. But she damned sure ain't prettier than me. But I still understand though sweetheart, she provokes feelings in you that I never could." The ruthless smile on her face, as she spat nothing but sheer cockiness, gave proof of the spite within the She Wolf.
Banner lowered his head, a smirk paired with a small huff, enjoying this woman and her always present sarcasm masked truth.
"I'm still good though. Know why? Cause at the end of the day, I know you can't do a goddamned thing with her. So when she gets you all riled up, you and all that right there, yeah that." A delicate hand grabbed his hard member tightly, "know exactly where to find me."
The whisper leaving her lips, provoked his pulse to race even harder. However the moment she grabbed his arousal was what caused his head to quickly lift and take in the sheer cockiness Liara now sported. She knew who was in control. She always was able to manipulate getting her desired results. Or was it he, too willing to give in?
Liara rolled more than vibrantly glowing eyes as she moaned behind closed lips, leaned forward to rest her temple to his. Her tone provoking every bit, her desired effects. "You know, I'd love to see just how good she gets it."
The She Wolf now pressed her body into him, making sure to gyrate her hips thoroughly against him. Further provoking the already sexually around man. A lift of a left brow and a bite of the lip, as Liara knew she had Banner eating out of hands. The draw of breath through clenched teeth as she felt the hardened part of him, gave the man a look in his eye.
It took every bit of courage Bruce could muster to refrain from taking her in the stairwell. He downed an over salivating gulp as he closed his eyes to form words. "You are playing with fire."
"Actually I'm playing with your dick, but okay." A coy giggle as she could see the lustful want in his eye. One last cocky raise of her brow, as Liara slipped completely from the wall and began to the stairs.
A few calming breaths were released before Bruce turned to watch the She Wolf take a stair, while placing her snacks into her oversized hoodie pocket. "What are you doing?"
Liara lifted her head, turned to give a hard shrug with the delivery of her commentary. "Leaving. You go back to your girl. You say you want me. Fine and dandy. But see, I know all that is about to change. It's already begun baby. Only you haven't realized it yet sweetheart. Look what you just did to me sweetie. Provoked by years of pinned up yearn for her. Can't say I didn't like it though. Cause you, hell, we both know better. Which brings me right back to what I said before, I'd love to see how she gets it. Cause, she might be able to rub up against it, but I'm the only one that can take care of it. But don't get it twisted now. I'll do you that solid only once, though. You know, for science and all that good stuff." There was an amused draw of breath. Clearly enjoying her own comments.
With each word the bright eyed woman spoke, Banner dared in taking another step closer. Stopping just a stair below her. Her right hand quickly found his chest, holding him at bay. "Just because she is my past, does not mean she will be my future, Liara. I recall already informing you, to which you are in a relationship."
With his words, a small smirk graced Liara's face as her mood had completely changed to that of defeat. "Which you will once again end. Funny how life deals the cards right? Last time you tore me down, but I rebuilt myself. And now that I'm strong, of course like an idiot, I let you back in. And get this, you are going to tear me down once again. But know what, I'm not going to let that happen. Which is why I told you no. No means no Jekyll. No to everything. Relationship. Lust. Sex. Games. All of it. I refuse. See you'll never understand. What this is, was, will be, it hurts. All too much. When you come to me, and you will. I promise you, that will defiantly be the last time. The nail in the coffin. Know why? Because then and only then, you Jekyll, will realize that you do only need me for release."
The man softly covered the hand upon his chest. "She is my friend Liara. You, you are something completely different."
"And until you yourself understand that, and give me a label, I'll never be anything more than your dirty little secret." A light tighten of dull emotionless yellow eyes, as Liara slipped her hand from his person. "Goodnight Jekyll."
Unable to challenge Liara's masked defeated tone, Bruce could only watch as the woman slipped her right hand into her hoodie pocket while climbing the stairs. He knew she was right, but the manner in which she spoke. Completely hurt him to his core. Mainly the fact he was the one doing the damage. His actions were contradicting everything his words declared.
Banner took a hard mind clearing breath, as he decided to take some time in the lab. He knew he needed time to thoroughly decipher his actions and confused mind set, where better than where he felt more at ease.
