Liara continued up the silently secluded stairwell. Determined to get as far enough away from Banner as she could. Being around him was too dangerous, and she knew it. Not for personal safety, no. But for the high possibility, well certainty, of finding herself bent over and enjoying every bit of it. A muted giggle as she knew the fact she would go against her own words. Quick in fact.
Hell, who was she even kidding? Liara knew she would be the one initiating every one of the images flying through her mind. Each one just that much more enticingly filthy than the next. A tilt of the head as a coy smirk graced her plump face. With a growl, she began speaking to herself. "Just why do you persist in bringing the animal out in me. And my stupid ass going against everything I said I wouldn't do."
"Tonight, you can begin to show the others just what you are made of, you ready?" Tony Stark placed a reassuring arm around the young man at his side.
A pressured smile, which came across more a grimace. "I…I think so, yeah. I just don't want to let you down Mr. Stark."
"He better be ready." The voice starting the two males as they came to a halt, never noticing her presence.
Thick blue unruly hair squeezed by them as the men began after her.
"So you coming along on the playdate." A deep clear of a throat.
"Now why in the fuck would I even want to do that?" A tip of blue hair to the left.
Tony noticed her overly full pocket as Liara rounded the landing to the next set of stairs. "Because you have food, and it's not nice to not share."
The laugh she gave off, was of sheer delight. Yellow eyes refused to look back as she took the first stair. "Come on now, I don't share my men let alone my food. The hell you mean."
Stark pushed forward, until he was on the same stair as the thick woman. "Remember, you were commanded to work in the lab."
The smirk on the woman's face, gave the slightly taller man at her side a smile. Knowing their sarcastic banter was going to do nothing but continue. "First of all, I have never came when ordered. Not even from the best of them."
"Oh, so he is, is he?" Tony donned a proud smirk.
The grin returned by the only female in the stairwell was much more menacing. "You mad?"
"About what?" Stark's tone, only provoked the woman at his side in giving a more devious look.
The look never once leaving her face, as Liara delivered her rebuttal. "The fact that you couldn't tell the fucking difference. I swear with you men. You just have a need to stick it anywhere."
Tony held his heart, with his mouth agape. "How dare you speak like this in front of our child."
The She Wolf peeked at the man from the corner of her left eye. "Who? Web skeeter? He couldn't be mine. You so cheated on me, always the hoe. Then again, you look like you only make girls. Not that strong in the baby making department. Wait, that is scientific, how about you study that."
"You know who is strong." With his comment, the woman's face went soft with a delicate smile.
"Yeah, he so only makes boys." A lift of the brows as she turned her head to face Tony directly.
"You would know all about that, right." A nod and shrug was returned to this statement.
"Naturally. His genetic makeup is far greater than yours could ever begin to be. Always the better Science Bro." A deep smirk as her brows quickly lifted.
"Annnd how do we go about the web shooting, pray tell." A left pointer covered his lips.
"Easy. I let him pat my belly until I find his bone." Liara suggested as Tony chuckled.
"Umm, guys, what are you two whispering about." The slender, overly perky young man voiced up.
Iron Man was quick to answer. "Nothing…"
"Bones." Liara spoke at the same time, earning a look from the genius.
The young man carried an innocent smile on his face. "Oh, cool."
"Not by the looks of it." Yellow eyes gave Peter a thorough once over before rolling her eyes to return them to the incoming path.
"I'm sorry?" He began.
Blue hair nodded in agreement. "I agree."
Stark allowed the woman to continue on her own, as he waited on the young Peter who was three stairs behind. "See, this is why no one likes you. Bad girl. You have to excuse her, Peter. If you don't rub her tummy…"
Liara burst out laughing from her diaphragm, as she rounded the last break in stairs, leading to the level of the lab. More than amused by her friend's comment. "I'd bite the shit out of someone, before I even let anybody that close. Besides I never go belly up for any man."
"Are you sure?" There was a rise of his heavy brow.
Gloss covered lips pushed to the right. "You tell me."
"Quite." A stroke of his thin goatee.
A single chuckle vibrated from her throat, a landing above them. "Exactly."
Liara leaned back on a wall. Studied the incoming duo from behind her raised cup, while taking a long sip. Tony indeed had aged well, in fact very nicely. If she was still into his sarcastic type, she told herself there would be no trouble in finding him in her bed again. Actually truth be told, it was fun the one time she got up close and overly personal. However she also recalled how she was a completely different person then. Hell, so was Tony for that matter, however if things never took the path they did. Stark was still one of the people she trusted with certain things she would never let anyone else in on. A gut feeling told her, this would never change.
Now there was the young man at his side. Thin, fair-skinned and unbelievably naive. His willingness to prove himself to everyone, was what left him blind to the fact. He was too easy. He actually reminded her a lot of a certain woman currently on a date she was clueless to. Which also brought Liara to a realization. Alana would like this young man. A lot even. He, a baby to Liara, would be considered a man in the eyes of the Celestial. His short brown neatly combed mane. His physique. His features, would be something she knew her friend found overly handsome.
"See. Our little watch dog made sure the coast was clear. Not even one bark." The slight tense of yellow eyes, did not go unnoticed. "Go ahead, Parker. I have something I need to discuss with Killer here."
"What exactly did Nicholas want me to work with you for again?" The duo began into the lab, side by side.
A shake of short black hair. "He wants to keep an inspecting eye on you."
Liara laughed. "Kinda hard to do, when you only have but the one good one."
"Indeed," the chuckle given by the man while patting her on the arm was warmly inviting, putting her a bit at ease.
Something Liara needed ever since catching scent of the incoming duo. Currently in the rapidly rising elevator. Heavy in scientific conversation.
The She Wolf rolled big yellow eyes, thoroughly scanning her surroundings. Everything seemed so beyond boring, to the point a chair by the sliding lab doors seemed her best bet. Until she finally spotted components in the back of the lab. That seemed overly intriguing. Dark and just a little less concentrated on the putrid odors lingering in this heavily used area. Liara quietly made her way into the darkness.
Peter heavily inspected the woman with pure curiosity. "It's really dark back there, doesn't she need a light?"
Stark, who was propped over a seated Spiderman, only watched from the corner of his eye. Liara pulled her thick unruly hair up into a messy bun high on the top of her head while passing. "There's a lot of things that woman needs. Light, not one of those."
"Wait, what? She can see in the dark? That. Is. So. Cool. Oh Hi! Mr. Banner and friend." The last words leaving the young man's mouth, provoked a raise of the lip to the unseen woman in the back. Bent over, playing around with wiring to the machinery.
"Nice of you to visit. How can I help you?" Tony began with sarcasm.
Bruce was ushering his female companion in while clearing his throat. "Tony, Peter, this is Betty Ross."
Iron Man righted himself. Making his way to the pair slowly entering the spacious room. He extended a hand. The aged black haired woman accepted. "Tony Stark. You've probably heard about me through your father."
The shy woman cleared her throat. "Not precisely."
"She does not exactly speak to him, Tony." Bruce added.
The genius millionaire crossed his arms. "Something we all can understand my dear. Now don't you worry. Feel at home here in my little playground. We have all the good toys, if you haven't heard."
"Umm," blue eyes took in Bruce as the man gave an encouraging nod.
As the delicate woman found herself next to Peter, striking a conversation. The scientist pulled his friend by the arm, carefully from the earshot of Betty. "Is…"
Before Banner could begin expressing his thought verbally, a motion was given by his friend. Provoking the scientist to wince, his eyes slowly adjusted to the lack of lighting in the rear of the laboratory. There she was. Her fluid movements seemed to take forever, in just rising higher from behind a long barrier of machinery. A stray curl fell from her bun, resting softly on her left brow. Why was it everything this woman did, peeked his interest.
Liara knew Bruce was going to ask about her. For the manner he almost lost composure when Tony gestured to her whereabouts. No, she did not see either of them, she heard only the beginning of a statement, combined with their shuffling. She slowly lifted herself upright, catching the shade of brown she loved becoming lost in, while doing so. Some bang fell over her left eye. Yellow eyes, still refused to tear from ones which were calling to her.
Liara slowly stood thoroughly upright as she pulled a large sheet of metal across her chest. A smirk was given, paired with a lifted left brow before she turned. Resuming the personal quest she took in keeping herself sane. As her back was still turned, "Playboy, have a sec? I want you to see this."
"Yep," Stark gave his friend a stern pat on the back, before making his way to the She Wolf. "What did you want?"
"For your friend to couple with his old lady. And before you begin, hold this." Liara once again squatted before the wiring she had stripped the metal from. "He and you are stupid as fuck to think she ain't in the know."
Tony had took to a knee beside his superpowered friend. "Trust me, there is something not right about her showing up, precisely when she did."
"No. really?" A roll of yellow eyes. "Add in she smells like cigar smoke, and you know the real. Oh and never forget to just who she was all up on the phone with when she left me and your friend. What? Don't look at me like that, the fuck." Liara now stared at narrowed hazel eyes. Clearly reading more into her words than she cared for.
A huff, "she left you alone, with him."
A snake of the head. "I just said that."
"Alone." A goateed smirk.
A suck of teeth. "Completely."
"No camera feed." Tony's smirk deepened.
"Of course not." A raise of a cocky left brow and a snap of the neck.
"So you two did do the deed." A raise of his brow.
"Only that one time in your bed, oh then there was that time on your desk, sorry we were messy, and he nutted all over your paper work." A finger found her lips to rest upon as a cocky smirk began to grow. "Oh, and I will never forget the time we so brokeded your toy. My bad, it wasn't as sturdy as I thought."
A bothered huff as Tony lifted himself from her side, much to her delight. "Peter my man. Are you ready to help me?"
Liara squinted, knowing the man was up to something.
The young man looked up to his idol, as the middle aged man brought up a computer screen in the middle of the air before himself. Stark poked his finger at holographic buttons, which sent various screens through the lab. Each one, enlarging as they now rested in their new positions.
"Wait umm, um, Mr. Stark, what are these feeds?" Large brown eyes studied each one, with great care.
From the dark, a high pitched overly Southern accent started. "You don't have everything. There are what, two… no three offline."
Liara slowly made herself know as she was taking in each feed from the night she was forced into recoiling within her own mind. Every feed was playing, yet the ones pertaining to her whereabouts. The rear entrance, and the surrounding forest near the huge lake. Those she quickly noticed were on repeat.
A strained clear of a throat, "they are all here."
A loose shake of her head, "no. They're not."
Liara made her way to the feed near the person who intervened. Her yellow eyes locked on the hologram, the entire time. Making sure to note the start and end of the loop. A dark purple stiletto finger reached, dragging the air down diagonally to the left, making the midair image larger. Now her yellow eyes stared through the moving images. As the same heighted male closed in on her, she clutched the sheet of metal tighter to her chest. Her eyes refused to hold his gaze any longer. They raced side to side, studying the recordings once again.
"You always have such a well trained eye." Tony had came to her side, turned and carefully retrieved the letter sized piece of steel from her hand. "How in the…"
A shake to clear her mind, "I just handled it, like I do all things that dangle, and pulled it."
Another clear of their throat.
Yellow eyes shot to him, then to his company. "I thought you didn't get sick, oh my bad. There is a lady present. Ross, earlier you got a call and we didn't get the chance to get to know each other."
Betty softly smiled, as she laid her pen down, giving the heavy set woman all her attention. "Yes, earlier you refused to accept my hand in friendship."
Her sentence provoked a gleeful chuckle from the She Wolf. "Don't feel special boo boo, I do remember telling you I don't do that. Much less with one that was sent here to scope me out."
"Liara. You are completely out of line." The scientist voiced sternly.
A tongue pushed at the inside of her right cheek. "So her smelling just like Cubans means nothing. A tiny little thing like her hardly seems like she could handle a puro much less…"
"And that is enough." Stark made himself known.
"The fuck I say?" Two hands were thrown up in questioning. "Anyhow, the vids start on loop at the same time. Right as I was leaving that empty room. But since I'm somehow out of line, I'm going to go back to playing with myself."
A small giggle came from the table behind her. Parker's reaction caused a stern look from Tony, which quieted the young man. Bruce returned to sit by Betty, who began to study the looped recording feed directly in front of her person.
"Leave my lil baby alone, he knows humor when he hears it. I am a huge joke after all." Yellow eyes looked straight past Tony, to the slight right of his shoulder. "Constantly being played."
Stark's action caused the woman to return her gaze to him. "Well if you wouldn't act like everything was a game, always trying to be the first to score."
"Speaking of games and scoring." A raise of her brow at his wording, before she turned to the young and naïve person in the room. "I have a question, lil man."
"Umm, yes, of course." The over cheerful Peter, eager to help in any way possible.
Her dark smirk should have been evidence in her intent. "Okay follow me now. Let's say you have a best friend right. God I really hope you do, I mean, hundreds of kids go to school with you, at least one of them has to be a bigger loser than you. Anyway okay. So he tells you one day, that he likes this girl right. You with me? Good. Okay you being the wonderful, great and amazing friend you are right, supe his head up. Telling him how good they'd be, you know, and how she's really great for him and how she'd be this, and that. How she's lucky for having someone like him interested in her. Now with all that being said, after you have built him up, the entire time you are keeping a secret from him."
"I am?" Peter took a gulp, as the woman hoisted a left leg and sat on the table.
The movement behind Liara caused her to take a look over her shoulder. Bruce was still at Betty's side, however Tony was now fiddling with the feeds. "Yep, the deal-breaker. Which is why you sit and battle with yourself over it. Until it eats and eats at you, at your very soul. Now the question is, are you a heartless monster, by keeping this to yourself or are you an evil monster by telling your friend. Do you tell your bestest friend in the entire world that you and the girl did some things way back in the day. Hurting the relationship that your best friend has built with this girl? Making him hate you and her, her for never saying anything either, even though she did it for his sake. And for the simple fact, the fling meant noting but yet another horrid mistake on her part. Or do you keep your mouth shut? Waiting on her to spill the beans, which she never will because like I said, it was a huge fuck up on her part.
"Well, umm… I tell him? No wait. I keep it in?" Parker tried his best to weigh his options.
"Leave the boy alone Liara." Stark stared at the woman who turned completely around.
A tight right cheek with his remark. "Me and my friend are having a nice conversation. I mean you keep telling me that I need to involve myself with those around me. So which is it? Do you destroy what your so called best friend has? Or allow him to be happy?"
"That's horrible." A light airy voice made itself known.
Liara spun around, giving Betty her undivided attention. When she spoke, she raised a hand, "see she gets it. It's a fucked up decision either choice he makes. Allowing his friend to live a lie or hurt him to his very core by telling the truth."
"I am sorry. Yes what you say about me is true, Ms. Guerra. I do smell like his cigars, and I was speaking to my father on the phone. I am only acting as if I am working with him, truly. To get in, to get to you Bruce."
"Awww, isn't that about the cutest thing ever." Liara enlaced her fingers as she watched the woman turn to Banner while mentioning his name.
Big tender eyes returned their gaze upon the blue haired woman. "To you as well. He's…"
The She Wolf cut the overly proper woman off. "Trying to kill me, in not so many words."
"If I somehow make him think I am on his side." A nod as she continued the conversation.
"He'd allow you to do exactly as you are currently. I ain't even mad. Jekyll, your girlfriend is growing on me." A warm smirk was given as Betty lowered her head in embarrassment as Bruce gave one of the most confused looks. "Alright kiddos, I'm leaving. I have did my good deed for the day. I do still have work to do, before I was oh so rudely forced here."
Liara made her way slowly toward the exit of the rather large room. Giving Tony a once over. When her eyes returned to his heated glare, her brow raised once, as she smiled, "oh, don't sweat yourself Spiderboy, you'll never tell your friend, because you love him too much."
One last wink to the fit man, who the entire conversation was over before she completely exited.
"Nevermind her, Peter. She does this thing." A rub of his goatee before shaking his head.
"What thing Sir?" The slender boy narrowed his confused eyes.
Stark rolled his eyes, while crossing his arms. "Gets on everyone's nerves."
"Even though she has a very valid point on her little um… story." Bruce carefully took in his friend walking across the room, as Ross commented.
