"So what you are saying is that we need to form a better understanding of how you and she work together." His soft smooth and overly confident voice carried to her delicate ears like a soft harmonious melody.
Steve Rogers, leader of the Avengers had joined Phoenix on the balcony. Captain America had noticed the Celestial while out getting in his daily morning jog. Since she was still in her same spot, after five completed laps around the basecamp. He figured this the best time to go ahead with his plan of getting to know this new character in his mist, just that much better.
The light-skinned woman only nodded to the tall, built physique which now took to her side. "Yes. In a way, I guess that would be what all of you need. But my thing is, I will let you know what is needed, you need only ask."
The blond headed leader of the Avengers nodded in silence. Understanding the Celestials meaning. "So you are only going to tell me half the truth, or just your version."
"Now, come Cap, I needn't lie. I have no reason to in the least. Whatever I tell you is going to help everyone in the long run. So just where in that are you calling me a liar? I understand you for being so mistrusting, but I would never betray you." Long white hair was shuffled as the woman now turned to the broad man.
There was a slight narrow to his brow, "I never called you a liar. I am so sorry if you feel this way, it's just that, that…"
"Look, sweetie. I like you. Therefore, how about we just learn a little about me, yes? I come from the beginning of time. I was never here nor there, always just here, so to say. I can be compared to what you Earthlings call your GOD. I have no ill will toward any human, but one. If she can even loosely be referred to as that. And that's only because she reeks on all kinds of levels and refuses to do a thing about it. Oh, and she irks the living hell out of me. Other than that, the rest of you, no wait take that back, there is another. That huge freak of a beast thingy you call Hulk." Phoenix took it clearly upon herself to interrupt the fair skinned man, to just let him know a couple of things.
"That 'beast thingy' as you call him is a dear friend of mine. He is a very high valued member of The Avengers as well. I would like you to remember as such and take care of how you regard everyone within our ranks. You are new here, and should show a little more respect." When crossing his arms, provoked his muscles to flex. Phe had no troubles in admiring his flawless being.
There was a cold laugh given as response. "Look, I really don't want to butt heads with you Steve. But I will let you know that you couldn't be more wrong. I have always been here. Just because your pretty little blue eyes haven't seen me, doesn't mean it isn't so. I have been neatly tucked away, to bless you at just the right time. Okay, with all you said, once again, Bruce might be high on the food chain, but I have seen straight through fire eyes the way each and everyone of you, except for the deranged nutcase, are afraid of him. Now, are we going to go back to me, or are you going to keep on about everyone else that we already know about?"
"Miss Phoenix, I really just want to know if you are playing by our rules or not." The furrow of his light brow keep the small framed woman by his side more than captivated.
A sweet smirk graced the petite woman. "I'll play by your rules. Each and every one of them."
"I'm sorry?" The question was completely rushed on reflex.
"I highly doubt that. Shhh, look." Phe reached out her right hand and tightly gripped his bicep. It flexed under her palm, which made them both lower their heads in shameful awkwardness. However, the white haired woman was much quicker in regaining composure. Motioning to the innocent man to take in what she had actually been waiting on ever since she had come onto the third floor balcony, the sunrise.
Steve looked down to the woman by his side. She seemed a little rough around the edges, yet at this precise moment, he was beginning see the person Phoenix was really hiding. If he could get her to break out of her shell, then indeed she could be a great asset to the group.
"Can I let you in on a little secret?" The words came so carelessly from deep down within himself.
There was a nod in return.
Steve unfolded his arms, only to look up to the roof over their heads. Green eyes followed in suit. As Rogers lifted a finger to point above them, "that level is the best for watching the sun break the horizon."
"You lie." The smile was huge on the woman, who was beginning to feel so much more at ease. Finding it even easier to speak with this man personally, than originally thought.
There was a shake of the head in response. "Every morning around this time, let's see we have around…"
Before Steve was able to finish his statement, Phe once again grabbed his upper arm. This time phasing them both a level up. As their bodies were becoming solid once again, the broad built man was a little woozy. Phe pulled both arms around him to the best of her ability, keeping Rogers from falling over. Their eyes locked for a brief moment. Within this action, an authentic smile formed on Phe's plump lips. "I'm sorry, but since you claim it's better from up here, then here it has to be."
Rogers allowed the woman to help him right himself. He could admit he had never experienced anything like this before. "That was…"
"Amazing." Phe lifted her white brow.
A head clearing nod, as the towering man leaned on the steel barrier. "Dif…ferent."
"Okay, but you are going to miss it. It's about to peek out." Phe moved closer to the banister, placing both hands around the top railing.
Steve noticed the sheer joy his current companion took in a simple sunrise. This was something he admired. For he himself loved to be here every morning doing the same thing.
