A steady rapid clicking of keys was all the man heard once entering his control room. At this godawful time of morning no one would, nor should be here. None of course but one. A nocturnal creature by force. The quiet man continued to push further, acting as if he were alone in the quickly sun filling room. Passing the seated woman, without a look, straight to the huge glass windows. Which were as tall as a five story apartment complex.
Yellow eyes completely studied the dark skinned, always black clad director as he eased to one of his favorite places. If he hadn't the need to speak, nor did she. At least she could keep some sanity about her, with the lack of early morning conversation. And of course, she had thought too soon.
"So you are okay with this scenario." A voice deep, manly and richly hood cut the silence.
Without a break in keystroke, her high pitched voice returned just as much natural urban accent. "You could've at least hugged me, that is how you greet the woman of your desires. And you could've also brought my coffee to me, instead of making me come to you for both of those."
"I could've." His smirk, tightened his cheek. "But I find it more amusing to make you come to me."
"Eww you feeling yourself. Boy bye. Now come here," Liara had made her way to her longtime friend. Pulled him into her embrace, as he gave her a rather tight squeeze. "Heyy look at you, trying to have me rubbing up on it early in the am. I ain't even mad though. I do already know what the print be looking like boo, no need to have a refresher, not when we have company."
As Liara smelled the air, grabbing the correct cup from the dark colored hand, Fury turned to inspect his incoming party. "Romanoff, Barton. Good of you to join us. As you know, Liara will be in charge of all ongoing com, from here. You Romanoff, from the field. Barton, you will of course be my watch out. You three are the ones I trust the most. You two out there and you in here, with me."
"Of course," Natasha, already fully dressed in her skintight black uniform agreed.
Clint Barton was filling his quiver as he voiced. "So you're not playing with us today?"
"I'm taking control of my helm. I did feel you were kind of cranky when I captained the Quinjet." A dark eye thoroughly inspected Hawkeye, as he returned a shrug.
Liara found her way back to the station she personally created for herself. When she was seated, a body stood before her.
Yellow eyes caught every bit of a ray while giving her company her full attention. The light provoking her solid white pupil in retracting considerably. The pastel yellow now shined beautifully. "Hey."
Romanoff, only stared at the natural glitter of the eyes, which clearly the sun was shining straight in, but lacked in affecting the seated woman in the least. "When are you going to let me borrow those eyes?"
"I already told you sexy, take them." Liara watched as Natasha know kicked a thigh up, sitting on the edge of the workstation. "I been done told you, I'm overly ready to get rid of them."
A small friendly smile, while turning her head to face to continue the conversation. "So, there's this thing I need to ask you."
Liara's eyes continued to give off a brilliant sparkle, as the sun now fully engulfed the bridge of the Hellicarrier. "Shoot."
"When are you going to wear something more suitable?" A quick pout of her overly full lips, followed by a sweet smirk.
"Oh shit, I see you. Trying to see what I'm working with these days. Nowhere near as sexy as your ass. But since you trying to push up on me, I'll let you know I'm more than you can handle little mama. Besides, your tiny little shy friend is the one you really trying to push up on. Should I be jealous? I mean since I'm the one that could show all that sexy a good time. I can be your Stud, so what you say?" A raise of long neat black brows. A provocative smirk now graced Liara's lips.
"So what do you girls say?" The Director's voice now carried over the women and their private conversation.
A smirk, pulling a left cheek tight as a dimple nestled itself deep within her skin. "I don't know, it depends if you are trying to watch or not."
"Liara what in the hell are you talking about." The voice booming showing his bothered state. Fury, clearly over Liara and her constant sarcasm.
"Oh my GOD, are you serious right about now, are you or are you not staying with me? Exactly. Then are you or are you not trying to see what they see? If so, then leave me he hell alone to work, like I was before you oh so rudely interrupted me. Damn a fat bitch can't do shit around here without someone always trying to watch." A roll of large eyes, as she returned her retort. Still calmly sitting in her deemed chair for the upcoming mission.
"Who is fat and who's trying to watch what?" A thin petite woman entered the extremely large cavity, dressed in all red.
A smile graced the She Wolf's person in hearing the newcomer's voice. "Me, and you already know."
"Gross!" Phe blurted out, before Alana could get another word out.
Green eyes took in everyone already waiting in the now Base Camp. A turned lip, as Phoenix looked over the crew one by one. Noting Steve was not yet here, she decided this was not the place she wanted be. These people she could care less in, much less in getting to know better. She already had enough of them the first go round while being trapped within Alana's mind. Seeing them in the flesh, was never needed.
A harder raise of the lip as she once again returned to study Liara. The woman was seated, busy typing, ignoring everyone else in the area. Phe knew there was something going on with her, and it was not the hair change as Alana ever so ignorantly mentioned. Nor the loss of weight, no it was something much more. Maybe it could be the reason of such a change, well whatever it was, she was going to find out. Ever since her return Liara had been trying to act as before, but Phe knew better. There was something lurking. The late night solitary walks in the woods, and the disappearing for days at a time, were going to be noticed by more than just herself. The clear of a throat pulled her from her thoughts.
"Since everyone is seeming to show up before time, this is even more reason to start the mission with a more thorough understanding of what is to transpire." Fury reached up to his right ear, pressing the tiny button on the Bluetooth earbud. "Rogers, Barnes. Your assistance is needed in the common-room."
With the dark-skinned man's command, the snow-white haired female stopped. Turned, looking for a good spot to wait on the others. Decided a seat at the overly large round table better than any other spot. A smile gracing Phe's face, as she made sure to take a seat toward the head of the round meeting place. Knowing Steve would be the one to take the head chair. For this was his role, and his team. Never the one to back down from anything, much less in asserting his, in her view, overly manly authority with the Avengers.
As Phe took her seat, a few of the others began to trickle in. Wanda with Vision at her side, along with Sam and Scott. The four heavy in conversation. Which seemed to be lighthearted. Each held a smile, before greeting everyone in the room. The two human men tore off from the others and joined the mounting crown around Fury.
"Well yes, this is what I have planned for the team, however… if anyone feels themselves. Rogers." Emerald eyes turned quick to see the man she had not to long ago shared a moment with. Before he was taken away by his best friend.
"You are giving yourself away. You really like him I see." Alana feeling quite happy with herself, in being able to detect her Twin Soul's new infatuation.
"And that would be none of your business. But I am so glad that I'm no longer in your pathetic body, because that would be such a waste of a perfectly healthy love affair." The images filling the Celestial's mind brought a huge smile to her face.
A raise of ruby red lips. "You are not his type."
"I'm everyone's type. Look at me." Phe crossed her arms.
"Always loose." Alana raised her brows, feeling she was going to win this little war of words.
The snow white headed woman rolled her emerald eyes. Clearly over her counterparts presence. "Bitch go away, go play with your pet. She looks like she needs a good petting," green eyes peered around her alien counterpart. "Nevermind, looks like she has another owner already. I told you, she needs to be fully taken care of, but you of course can't even get that right. You and she make a better couple than she and Nat. That woman is too sexy for such trash."
Phe's eyes smiled as she pestered Alana. "Oh my god, do you ever stop? Always having to one up everyone will come back to bite you in the ass."
"No, that would be Liara, but you were always scared to give it up. She was trying to show you what a woman could do for you." A dark smirk with her delivery.
Alana raised a disgusted lip. "Ugggh."
"Exactly, no go away. I need to have complete attention for when my man comes over to speak to me." The smile on her face, gave every bit her happiness in being able to get under Alana's skin.
"He won't." Alana was not buying anything the Ancient spewed.
"Okay, keep thinking that." Phe shrugged.
A tsk. "Whatever."
"See, unlike you, I know how to keep mine interested. Oh and look, speak of the devil. Now, get the hell out of here and go service your man or beast. Up to you." Phe enlarged her eyes, letting Alana know she really needed her gone.
Liara smiled to Natasha as she raised herself from behind the desk she was using. "I have things which need to be done. Besides, your man needs to be reminded that you are the one that is better for him."
"I'm sorry." A confused pout.
"I highly doubt that, but what I will let you in on is that your friend Betty is back, and seems to want to rekindle what they once had. And Jekyll being the kind of man he is, can't see anything for what it is. So I'll leave you to fight the good fight." A hand was now rested on Black Widow's shoulder.
"I will, only if you promise me one thing." Natasha called after the thick woman.
"I'm not going to." Yellow eyes narrowed before she rolled them in leaving.
The whisper leaving her plump lips, knowing the intended party would her her loud and clear. "Downstairs in the weapons room."
A shake of blue locks, before she took one last look over her shoulder while exiting the room.
"Where is she." Fury demanded as he took to Romanoff's side.
A smirk as the woman crossed her arms, "to finally become one of us."
"It's about damn time." A rub of his goatee while Nick chuckled.
Liara kept her head down while strolling down the long corridor. Smelling her incoming company, only caused her lips to purse right. The three of them were currently discussing how Stark was extremely smart, and wasting his talents by not having any degrees. Arriving at the lift before the elevator did, Liara only leaned a right shoulder on the wall to listen as the three continued. Of course Tony loved talk on him. He only boasted as he kept the conversation about him going. He truly was becoming fond of Ross and her constant flattery. The two continued, but the shy salt and peppered scientist became quiet. Lowering his head.
Liara took a heavy gulp, knowing her scent was carrying directly to him, filling his nostrils completely. Her senses kicking in, allowing her to fully see the scene. Banner now twiddling his fingers before his crotch. Anxiety now completely eating at him. Before Liara could get her thought out of wanting to be able to console him, the steel door slid open, revealing its inhabitants.
There was a nod exchanged between Stark and the She Wolf. The small petite woman inside smiled warmly with her greeting. "Liara, good to see you."
"Everyone is gathering for the briefing. You should hurry. Miss Betty, morning. Hopefully our resident narcissist isn't boring you too much." Liara glued her eyes down to the woman. Even with her heels on, the Wolf still towered over her small frame.
Liara refused to even take in the man to the left of the female scientist. His palms were clammy and sweaty. His breathing, struggling to keep himself calm. His elevated heart rate refusing to calm. There was a furrow to Liara's brow. How could this man even think she would do anything to embarrass him. Had their history not been proof enough of her being able to remain cordial?
"And shouldn't you be there?" With her question, provoked a smirk from the other party.
Liara's left cheek went lax. She patted her right earlobe repeatedly. "I hear even the things I wish I didn't."
"Right. Now we'll let you to whatever you were sneaking off to do." Tony ushered his new friend from the cubical.
As the three exited. There was a swallow by the overly nervous man. Liara rolled yellow eyes while shaking her head. She pressed the appropriate button to her needed level.
The door opened with a horrible screech. Giving Liara a horrible shutter and causing her to rush from the spot. As she entered the weapons room, a smile overcame her. "Why are you doing this to me?"
As his hand wrapped around her right forearm, the electricity shot quickly through her body. A kiss delivered to the right side of the back of her neck. "Because of this."
A forceful tug, turning a reluctant woman into his arms. "I'm not going to cause a scene, if that's what you're thinking. If you recall, I told you I can't play games any longer."
"I want to try Liara." Bright yellow eyes dared a peek. Knowing he'd see.
"Please leave me alone." A light finger toyed with the mole under her left eye.
A tight close of slowly glowing yellow eyes. His kiss was delivered hard and hungry. Her eyes shot open for only a fraction of a second, as she refused to fight what she as well desired.
